Water comes out at room temperature, which nobody drinks, so you have to cool it before drinking it. The swimming pool is nice but the view is not great. The hotel is on a busy road (pretty common in Malaysia) so it is not ideal when you want to just to go outside and walk around

Sometimes things ran out at the breakfast and were not refilled anymore at 9.15. Sometimes breakfast got really crowded. Big tour groups making noise at corridors, cutting lines during breakfast etc.

Was travelling with teen kids At check in our rooms were far apart Thanks to Amirul, Duty Manager, he was able to move us the next day. Only issue is poor water pressure throughout the stay even after we changed rooms. I’ve read other reviews that pointed this out so it’s definitely an ongoing issue no matter what time you use the shower. Overall comfortable stay. Good location. Nice property. Housekeeping staff deserve praise.

- Robert (3/5): The whole place is very very amateur - Breakfast was a joke no one knew what was going on! Food would run out and take ages to replace coffee machines as well. The pool bar was embarrassing, 20th floor and they serve mini bar size warm beer in a can for $6 Australian Dollars. The cocktail list is mediocre no coladas no daiquiris etc. my neck is sore from the cement bag style pillows, I had to get change for a GRAB driver one night and they refused to give me smaller notes.

- Nadda (8/5): Nice Stay - The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to major roads. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and I was pleasantly upgraded to a better room during my 4-night stay. There was a small miscommunication regarding the room benefits, but the team resolved it quickly upon check-in. Kudos to the front office staff and the manager for their prompt and professional service. Breakfast was good, and the main dishes rotated daily. However, I found the overall food quality better during my previous stay in May, and there were more vegetarian options then. Despite that, this hotel remains one of my preferred choices, and I will definitely consider staying here again for my next business trip in early January 2026.

- bettieg2014 (8/5): Vacation in KL - My group of 6 spent a few nights in this hotel. The location is central and close to the business district and a mall. There are many eateries in the vicinity and we enjoyed a Chinese meal at one of them. The check process was seamless. The staff were efficient and helpful. The rooms are a good size, well cleaned. The food was ok. The breakfast spread had the usual hot and cold options. Limited options for fruits. A selection of local foods as well. There is a Starbucks in the premises for coffee lovers. Overall, a standard experience.

- 412rinip (10/5): Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade - I had such a wonderful stay at Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade! 🌟 The hotel has an amazing location — just a short walk to LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, Berjaya Times Square, and the popular ICC Pudu food market, which makes it super convenient for both shopping and food hunting. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. One of the highlights is definitely the rooftop pool — the view is stunning and it’s such a nice spot to chill after a day exploring the city. I also really loved the aesthetic lobby, designed like a cozy library, which gives off such a warm and stylish vibe. It’s the perfect place to sit back and unwind. Overall, this hotel is a gem in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city! 💯✨

- Engkus (9/5): We would return and recommend Mercure for your room, but not for your breakfast - The room is Superb, we love the room that is cool, quiet, warrant our good night sleep (this is the most important for us). The pillow choices could be improve, as the current pillows are a bit high and hard; this was solved by requesting additional blanket to make a pillow. Breakfast - I do believe that Mercure has good variety; however the food quality requires improvement significantly. Started from your porridge was watery. Fried egg was overcooked and greasy, the option was not offer and the station often unattended. Breakfast Greeter - whilst I do understand if the person has communicable disease like Influenza that requires them to wear face covering, but it is creating a bit off putting impression when you greet your guests wearing face covering. I do believe smiles in the morning would go along way in our interactions. Breakfast - coordination between front desk, service staff and culinary staff are required, to ensure 0630 breakfast opening is achieved as advertised during check in. In all honesty, the overall breakfast service needs to be more "alive" and switch on (I do apologize if I sounded to harsh)

- ollymac_9_10 (10/5): Excellent stay - Returning guests to Mercure Shaw parade. Now our go to place in kl. Reasonably well located to rear of Times square and Bukit bintang (about5/10 mins walks). The hotel is very clean in all areas and vast majority of staff are friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms are well appointed, with toiletries, large tv, fridge, water etc. Ours was on 17 floor with city views. Room cleaning very good. Pool area on floor 20 is good with great views. The gym is here too with enough machines for basic workouts. Breakfast is excellent with good selection to please most tastes, and there is a small coffee shop on groundfloor. Overall highly recommended for the price and it was nice to be waved off on our departure, and we will return. After a long flight from uk we arrived at hotel at 9am, so it was nice to get a slightly early check in at 1pm Special thanks to Diane, Aida, Irfan, Sumitra, and all other staff who helped make our 4 night stay great

Egg station lady could have been more accomodating as she refused to nake scrambled eggs with onion/chilli even though she made that for me on the first day but overall,The staff were very good.

- heorshe (10/5): Mercure Kuala Lumpur Shaw Parade — everything in its right place - I’ve stayed in different spots around KL before: ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre, ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park, Holiday Inn Express — so I’ve got a decent baseline for comparison. Last year, I decided to try Mercure Shaw Parade, and honestly, it was a great choice. Here’s why: the price is often similar to ibis KLCC, but the breakfast and service feel better. The breakfast isn’t huge, but it’s thoughtful: a smart selection, tasty, and well-prepared. My friend and I enjoyed both the morning spread and the dishes from their a la carte menu. Evenings were the highlight — dining on the rooftop, taking in the city view, and breathing fresh air. And their “chili cut” — basically soy sauce with sliced fresh chilies — deserves a special mention. Simple, but with soul. Fun fact: that sauce was part of my very first visit. I came in hungry for dinner, ended up on the rooftop, loved the food — and later decided to book a stay. There’s also a Starbucks on the ground floor. Didn’t try it, but it looks cozy — not sure if it’s integrated with the lobby or just a separate tenant. There’s no single flashy feature — but everything works: location, comfort, dining, service. The area is well-connected: monorail and LRT nearby, and you can even walk to the city center if you like. Overall? Highly recommend. Great value for money, plus a sense of care and character that big chains sometimes miss.

Alles war etwas runtergekommen und verbraucht. Der Pool war nicht einladend, Bilder bilden die Realität nicht ab. Mussten früh morgen zum Flughafen und das Frühstück war nicht gerichtet. Wer den Standort einer internationalen Hotelkette hier erwartet, wird enttäuscht sein.
