- Julie (10/5): - Lovely hotel in Kyoto. Our garden room was very nice with a modern feel. Staff all very helpful. Happy for us to leave our cases on our last to day and collect later. Very close to metro stations, restaurants and bars. Easy walk to many areas including Nishiki market, Imperial Palace and across the bridge to Yasaka and Sannenzaka. Would definitely stay again.

From its stunning design to its impeccable service, every aspect of this hotel exceeded our expectations. The location is, without a doubt, a 10 out of 10. Situated directly on the banks of the beautiful Kamo River, the hotel offers a tranquil escape while being just steps away from the heart of the action. We loved starting our mornings with a coffee overlooking the river. In the evenings, we could simply walk out the door and be in the middle of the vibrant Pontocho Alley for dinner, or take a short stroll across the bridge to explore the historic Gion district. The convenience is simply unmatched. The room was a perfect blend of modern luxury and Japanese elegance. It was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed with incredible attention to detail. Finally, the service was exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. If you are looking for a special place to stay in Kyoto that combines a prime location with a luxurious and peaceful atmosphere, this is the place to stay.

The staff is extremely helpful upon request. I liked the modern and automated approach for requests: you send a request via your mobile phone. I enjoyed the garden view. While there is no outside view, you feel like being in a tropical forest. Amazing experience.

The breakfast had a wide variety of choices. The location was close to transportation and a short walk to Pontocho. We enjoyed our stay. We arrived early and asked if one room was available. It was and it was great to check it early and quickly shower after a long day of traveling. They prorated the daily cost, so $100 for 4 hours. While fair, we were staying for 4 nights with 2 rooms, so it seemed a bit penny pinching-and it took over 30 minutes for the front desk to calculate the fee.

- Shingo (10/5): - 京都、河原町の端っこで市役所前駅の近く。と言うよりも駅からすぐのところにあるホテルです。中心街の喧騒から離れてゆっくりしたい人には良い場所だと思います。ホテルの階層もそこまで高くなく、よくある高層階まで行った。エレベーターがなかなか降りてこないと言うイライラが少ないです。ホテル自体も落ち着いた雰囲気で、部屋も落ち着ける雰囲気でした。惜しむらくは、清掃が2日にいっぺんと言う事。希望出せば毎日清掃していただけますが、基本2日にいっぺん。そのためゴミの回収も自ら外に出さないといけないためやや手間に感じました。できればベッドメイキング等は2日にいっぺんでもいいので、部屋のゴミを回収と簡単な掃除機をかける位の掃除はしていただけると助かります。お部屋のお風呂も立派ですが、シャワーがやや水圧が弱い感じがしました。大浴場は大きなお風呂が2つあり、薄暗い照明の中落ち着いてリラックスできる場所でした。ホテルを出ればすぐ裏手には鴨川が流れており、早朝及び夜の静かな雰囲気の中川を散歩出来るのは良かったです。食事に関しては素泊まりのコースを選んだため評価できません。移動においては、駅が近いということが、何より便利に観光しやすい場所だと思います。ちょっと足をのばせば河原町の中心街に出ることができるので、食事も買い物も困りません。昼間は観光、夜は静かの中、ゆっくりできるホテルがいいと言う方にはお勧めだと思います。

Service was great and even provided luggage delivery to our next hotel. Breakfast was worth it and the hotel was also in a great area. Oh and the bathroom had American outlets so my blowdrier worker (only girls can understand how important that it)! Thank you we’ll definitely stay again.

Little to no interaction with staff as you check in and out using a machine.

- Chantel (8/5): - The hotel is located in a central area that is ideal for tourists looking to visit the classic attractions Arashiyama bamboo forest, Fushimi Inari, as well as the Gion district. The bathroom was modern with a separate shower area and bathtub in the same area and the room was spacious enough. The setup of the room had a toilet and sink on the opposite end of the room from the shower/tub with its own separate sink. However the room only comes with one soap dispenser. When we asked for another soap dispenser for the sink with the toilet we were told that we could only have one soap dispenser for the room and that we were expected to carry the soap back and forth from one sink to another. Subsequently we spent our entire stay carrying the one bottle of hand soap back and forth across the room to try to wash our hands at either of the two sinks. If it weren't for this inconvenience it would have been a great stay.

- Stephanie (8/5): - The staff is very helpful and nice. The hotel is good. We stayed at the second floor looking right into the main street. It was really noisy. The room was very clean and ok in size but it looked really used. Some of the wood was scratched off of the appliances and the pillows were really really thin. Bathroom was good in size and modern.

- Tiffany (10/5): - My fourth time at this hotel. I’ve stayed in various rooms at this property over the years and am glad to see the standard/up keeping has been maintained. I would consider this to be a great central location that’s on a more quiet street. Staff are very helpful when calling a taxi or sending my luggage ahead of time.

- Jenkins (10/5): Nice Kyoto Hotel Experience! - We stayed two nights. The check-in experience was good, very efficient! At late night I asked about luggage delivery to my next hotel, the Japanese lady staff was very helpful. The next morning when I checked out, the Chinese lady staff at the front desk was very smart, read the notes that the Japanese lady made on record, and helped me arranged the luggage delivery without me having to raise the enquiry again! Excellent service from them all. Excellent location, and highly recommend to all!

- Meguru (4/5): - I stayed in a View Bath Twin Room for ¥45,000 on a weekday in November. I understand it’s peak season, so the price is higher than usual. The hotel feels new, clean, and stylish, and I didn’t hear any noise from other guests in my room. Overall, I had a comfortable stay, and the location is excellent. However, I’m only giving two stars because it didn’t meet my expectations. The service was standard, and the room lacked amenities. You have to pick up items like a toothbrush, face wash, and comb at the front desk yourself. The breakfast dining area also doesn’t offer a good view. My experience was decent but nothing exceptional. I wish I could have had a room with a nice view of the Kamo River at this price. I wouldn’t recommend staying in the View Bath Twin Room, especially with its higher price than other business hotels.
- Ann (8/5): - Great location. Walking distance to Gion (1 mile) and shopping/ Pontocho alley (less than 0.5 miles). Right next to a subway station for easy access to other parts of the city. Staff helpful.

- Severin (10/5): - This hotel is nicely furnished and decorated. The suite had a private view of a cultivated garden out the window. Walking distance from shopping, an easy-to-use subway system, and some great restaurants.
- Catherine (8/5): Hotel in the middle of Kyoto - Nice room but a bit small. Onsen had indoor and outdoor pool. A bit pricey but it was in a good location.

- Verified traveler (6/5): - This place is just fine. We stayed three nights at a comparably priced spot a few blocks away that was way nicer. The air purifier in our room was broken and they provide bare bones in room amenities, like powder coffee creamer. No coffee or tea in the lobby. Frosted glass. All around just fine but there are plenty of nicer spots at the price range.

- Cheryl (8/5): - The property was in a good location in terms of walkability to food, bars, and access to public transportation. It sits right up against a river that many people walk along. The room itself was quiet, and nice, but we noticed the vanity had damage to it, wall decorations were peeling, and most disturbing is the tub was filthy. I filled the ofuro only to find gray matter floating at the surface. It's as if no one scrubbed the tub between visits.

- Hoh (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay in Kyoto! The staff at Solaria Nishitetsu was very helpful, especially when I had wifi issues. The property is in a perfect location along the river. The rooms are very nice (especially the bathroom with separate toilet area). I did not get a chance to visit the spa/public bath, but I intend to stay longer and do so next time.
