• Julia (10/5): Comfortable and gorgeous experience at Ecolodge La Estancia - Ecolodge La Estancia was an amazing lodging area on the Isla del Sol. The breakfast and the dinner they provided was amazing and the staff were super friendly. Specifically, Susanna at the front desk was able to answer our questions :) The rooms were comfortable and cute.

• Andrea (3/5): Eigentlich eine tolle Location, allerdings hat uns dann der unvorhergesehene doppelte Preis den Aufenthalt nicht mehr in - Die Unterkunft liegt wunderschön mit Sicht auf den Titicacasee, es ist sehr sauber und das Personal sehr freundlich. Das was uns im Nachhinein sehr traurig gemacht hat, war die Tatsache, dass wir überBooking.com eine Buchung über 356,45 € getätigt hatten und ja auch die Kreditkarte hinterlegt war. Bei der Bezahlung des Aufenthalts konnten wir allerdings nur in Bolivianos bezahlen und die beiden Übernachtungen lagen dann bei umgerechnet 697€ , also fast das Doppelte, obwohl andere Unterkünfte in Bolivien entweder die hinterlegte Kreditkarte in EUR oder USD belastet haben oder über Paypal bezahlt wurden. Es wäre also gut, wenn man diese Situation im Vorhinein wüsste, damit man weiß, worauf man sich einlässt oder einfach Devisen in bar mitbringt. Wir sind jetzt 3Wochen in Bolivien in verschiedenen Unterkünften unterwegs, aber eine solche unangenehme Überraschung gab es noch nie…..und wir sind auch nicht zum ersten Mal in Bolivien.

• Shara (8/5): Beautiful hotel with a great view but must access via a steep climb. - The hostess, Susana, was friendly and helpful. We happened to be the only guests at the time, so meals were timed according to our needs. The food was delicious and the offerings for breakfast varied. The property is well-maintained and beautiful. The view of Lake Titicaca from sunrise to sunset was breathtaking. The hotel is located near the top of Isla del Sol. The only way to access it from the dock is to climb a steep and uneven path with a lot of burro droppings. It is not an easy climb, especially at a high altitude. We had no idea how difficult it would be to reach the hotel. Please investigate before attempting. It is not a good idea to attempt with more than a backpack. Also take water for the journey up.
• Rodney (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location. Comfy warm bed and hot showers. Delicious dinner and breakfast included. Staff super nice and helpful. However it was rather pricey considering you could get similar accommodation for about half the cost.

Heureusement, vos bagages sont pris en charge par des spécialistes qui les montent à dos d’âne du bord du lac Titicaca, jusqu’à 4000 m d’altitude L’hôtel et les chambres jouissent d’une vue absolument inoubliable sur la chaîne orientale des Andes. Une expérience vraiment inoubliable.

• Nadia (10/5): - This is a special place, really lovely people take great care to cook delicious meals, keep gardens looking beautiful, and give recommendations on what to do and see. Loved the room too. Be warned you do have to walk uphill a while to get there, was tough for us as we hadn’t acclimated to the elevation. But we’ll worth it!

• Wai (8/5): Poor communication mars what could have been a lovely experience - Location is great (but so are many of the far cheaper properties on the island). Dinner and breakfast was excellent. Each lodge is perfectly designed to be eco friendly. Communication with there property was terrible. They ignored three separate messages requesting information on how to get to the place, which resulted in us hiking (with all our luggage) 8.6km from there north of the island. Not fun. Also, given the serene, natural environment, they really ought to have words with the neighbouring hotel which pumps out hideously loud reggae music during the day.

• Thomas (9/5): Beautiful place with lovely staff - Pretty much everything - particularly the location and stunning views. The lodge was much comfier and more modern than some places we’ve stayed in Bolivia. The manager was wonderful and arranged for us to stay an extra night when I was too ill to travel as planned. It would be great to have some lunch options available - although breakfast is huge! There was a kid listening to loud tv on their iPad with no headphones in the shared dining area which was a bit annoying. Only happened one night, sure it would have been dealt with had our stays overlapped more.

• Logan (10/5): A tranquil escape with sweeping views and friendly staff! - I have serious dietary restrictions and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I could eat both dinner and breakfast! Amazing! Also, it's worth mentioning that there are donkeys that bring your belongings up to the property for you so that you don't have to carry them. The walk is long, but it's beautiful! And without having to haul your stuff, it becomes a sightseeing event. Don't hesitate booking this place!

• Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - The views were phenomenal, the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. We absolutely loved our time at La Estancia. The walk to the hotel from the port is approx. 40mins, some of it up a very steep hill. 100% worth it when we got to the hotel though!

• Ishita (10/5): Absolutely loved it. Out of 3 weeks traveling, this night at the lodge was my favorite. - Amazing location. Amazing people, Froylo and the chef were extremely helpful, kind and accommodating. Would highly recommend. Need to make sure the lodge sends an english speaking guide to lead the walk from Yumani port to the hotel, or provide detailed instructions. This is not a negative, however need to be clear that the view from the lodge is of the lake & sunrise (which is absolutely amazing!!) however for sunset, the best view is approx 20 mins walk away from the lodge (this is not a bad thing, as there are many little restaurants & areas to have a great view, and it is even better to have sunrise view from the lodge so you do not need to take a walk early in the morning), however it should be made clear to guests that this is the case

• mercedes (10/5): Toda una experiencia - Nos encantó la experiencia. Si lo necesitas, te ayudan a subir y bajar tu equipaje hasta el hotel con unos burros. Cuando llegas ves las habitaciones en pequeñas edificaciones independientes. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas. La cena y el desayuno se hace en una zona común, en mesas compartidas con otras personas. La comida es casera y está todo muy bueno. Todo el hotel está pensado para ser lo más ecológico posible. Dormir en la isla es una experiencia en sí misma, además desde la habitación se ve el amanecer.

• julien (10/5): parfait - un endroit parfait pour dormir sur l'Isla del Sol. La vue est magnifique, les extérieurs sont très agréables. Nous avons très bien dormi dans un lit très confortable. Il y a de l'eau chaude pour prendre sa douche. le repas, inclus dans le prix de chambre était très bon (sauf le dessert qui n'était pas exceptionnel). un endroit à réserver sans hésiter.
• Verified traveler (2/5): A éviter impérativement - Après 45 minutes de marche (et de la vraie montée...), on arrive dans un hôtel tout à fait commun mais qui a la prétention d'un hôtel haut de gamme. La personne a l'accueil est désagréable, parle espagnol et ... c'est tout. Et elle ne sait pas grand chose, et à vrai dire rien. Il n'y a pas de terminal pour payer avec la Visa et vous êtes obligé de donner sur papier toutes les coordonnées de votre carte de paiement... Il faut avoir confiance. Il n'y a pas de chauffage dans les chambres (qui sont agréables par ailleurs), et pour avoir une couverture ou une couette supplémentaire, il faut quasiment menacer le personnel. Le restaurant, incontournable puisque vous êtes perché au sommet, est véritablement pas bon, moins bon qu'un niveau d'une cantine quelconque. En bref, cet hôtel qui se veut d'une certaine catégorie (et c'est se qu'on attend quand on a payé un tel prix en Bolivie!!!) est tout simplement un hôtel bas de gamme. Autant dormir à Copacabana.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay at Eco Lodge la Estencia - Great stay at Ecolodge la Estencia. We did not have to carry our bags to the top (30 min walk uphill) which was great. Nice and big room with hot shower and a lovely view. Meals were really good and well cooked, but could have been a little bit more filling. Welcoming team!
