Guest Reviews
- Tabitha (5/5): Pleasant atmosphere, but missing some comfort - Clean and well maintained. Friendly staff No amenities in room including no fridge or coffee maker. Bathroom was across the hall which was listed as a possibility but does not feel fair to pay the same price as someone with an in room bathroom. Room next to us was used for ghost tour which could have been rented out to us instead, as there was an in room bathroom and ghosts do not need toilets
- Carol (5/5): Will not stay again. HIstoric should not equate to dim and noisy. - Well located in downtown Flagstaff. Staff helpful and friendly Noisy! The first night there was a band playing till 2 AM and the sound came up to the second floor rooms. The second night somebody was moving furniture in the third floor ballroom at 2-3 AM. Not at all restful. Also the lights in the room were so dim, it was difficult to read. And our room had a "view" onto the heating apparatus.
- Cheryl (10/5): Short but sweet. - Located in the heart of downtown Flagstaff . Close proximity to Amtrak station, restaurants and music venues. Staff helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. All good
- Eric (9/5): -

- Sandra (8/5): -
- David (5/5): - Good location downtown.
Bars and restaurants in the hotel. Would prefer a coffee maker / fridge in the room. Also no TV.
No breakfast availability
- Matthew (9/5): -
- Dana (10/5): Excellent Historical Hotel - This hotel was an excellent experience. The building was truly historic and included a good restaurant and interesting bars. The representatives who worked there were wonderful.
- briansolar1 (5/5): Lovely historic buyilding in the center of Flagstaff, lots of character but rooms could be better - Center of Flagstaff, historic building Room was a bit noisy from outside air conditioning and heat pipes. Room was small for price. Room was a bit tatty for price, it could do with an upgrade
- Ryan (9/5): - Great location, awesome staff
- James (6/5): - Location is great They only had one key so my partner and I (doing different things) had to coordinate handoffs. Said a previous guest hadn’t returned theirs. Surely there was a way to get us another.
We were warned to might be loud at night. They werent kidding. Don’t plan on getting to sleep until 11 or 12 (I forget what time the bar closed). Lots of fire door banging.
I would definitely not stay there again. But if you like to stay up and party, maybe you’d enjoy.
Not cheap either.
- Laure (10/5): Super bien !
- Lori (10/5): - It's a beautiful, old hotel right downtown. There are 2 restaurants/bars on the property. The staff were super friendly and helpful! Lots of stairs.
Not a lot of parking
Really tiny bathroom
- KATHERINE (3/5): Do Not stay here unless you are a partier and will be up until bars close at 2. - The location was tough to beat however it was also the downfall We could hear every single bar’s music in a two block radius within our hotel room.
- Nicholas (7/5): Great for a night out in the town - Location is fun for a night out, and the history of the old building makes it unique. The price was little steep for the small room. The parking wasn’t ideal for overnight, had to wait to park and had to get up at a certain time to move the car so I wouldn’t get a ticket or towed.
- Victoria (10/5): Definitely will stay here again!!! - The staff made it top notch! It is so historical and beautiful. Three bars if you want to stay in house, otherwise there is plenty of options walking distance! Love Flagstaff and all it has to offer! If you want a historical experience to enjoy Flagstaff stay here!! Thanks Bailey for all of the stories LOL!!!
- Suzanne (8/5): Historic - Good nastalgic lodge. Has a vintage feel and all that implies.
- simon (7/5): Great location in a great town. - Great location and History. Room was quirky. The Bars are good. Great sitting on upstairs Veranda. Restaurant staff were terrible. Was a shame as reflected on our experience overall.
- Myrna (8/5): Great Live Entertainment - Great Room and fantastic History. Good Entertainment downstairs
- Reecia (10/5): - Great historical property in an outstanding location. The staff was very helpful, the food was good, the atmosphere takes you back in time would definitly stay here again.
- Jeanette (10/5): - Dinner at Charley's was less than good. Their lobster pasta was more like Mac n cheese w a sprinkle of lobster.
- Stephanie (4/5): Will not stay here again - Staff were friendly. Loved the ambience and the location. One of the rooms did not have a bathroom. No elevator and my 66 year old Mom barely made. Check out is 11 but you have to move your car by 8. I believed I booked 2 rooms with bathrooms. Also we checked in late no food available. Also the bar seemed to be full of students not visitors. Seemed like more revenue from locals and those staying feel like an after thought.
- Christina (10/5): You really get a sense of the age and story of the property which is very cool. The staff were also very frendly and cou - You really get a sense of the age and story of the property which is very cool. The staff were also very friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful (we got the sense that they loved their job and working at this hotel that is at the heart-of-Flagstaff) Nothing
- Christina (10/5): -
- Bonnie (6/5): Good central location and we enjoyed the ghost tour. Room and the noise were our least favorite. - Love the location and the ghost tour was great. Our room was right by the main door to get into that area and we could hear it open and close from our room through out the night. Also when we arrived I am glad the room was clean but the cleaning smell was overwhelming.
- Julie (8/5): - We really enjoyed the friendly and helpful person behind the desk at check in, I don’t recall her name but she had red hair. She was so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. She deserves a raise for all she does Parking, or the lack of.
- esmeralda (7/5): -
- Traysin (10/5): Loved it so much, we will be visiting again! - Beautiful historic hotel! Well kept rooms, friendly staff, and amazing location. Right in the middle of all the fun! If I had to choose something it would probably be the small bathroom however that is fully to be expected in historic buildings like this. So not even a complaint but maybe a warning.
- Nohemi (6/5): - We stayed in room 49 on a Friday night, it’s right next to an event room which was booked that night as well. It was pretty noisy up until 11pm ish. That was the only down side. Room is a little small, but was very clean. Staff was super nice!
- Kim (8/5): Two old birds out parting. - The Weatherford is a much older hotel, but very quaint. Love being downtown & so close to walk to everything. Park & stay place. Great way to have fun without drinking & driving.
- jadajada59 (2/5): Don’t Stay in Room 43 - We stayed at the Weatherford as we’ve done multiple times in the past. Noise is expected as the hotel has three bars in it; one on the main level (Charley’s) one upstairs with a gorgeous veranda (Zane Grey) and the one in the basement (Gopher Hole).
As I said, my wife and I will always stay at this hotel but this last time was the worst.
We stayed in room 43 which faces the street and is directly above a concrete stairwell that goes down into the Gopher Hole. Little did we know that the stairwell is also a designated smoking area (and yes also weed) where people will congregate. Problem is that due to the concrete surroundings the sound of drunk people talking loudly and smoking, the only place the noise and smoke has to go is up. Which is into room number 43.
It was beautiful weather and it would’ve been nice to open a window but not with cigarette and weed smoke. This goes on until 2am mind you so if you think you’ll sleep in room 43 you’ll have to lower your expectations.
We both went down to complain and ask for another room but there was nothing available. When questioning why people loiter in the smoking area all night we just got a canned explanation that’s on the hotel website that says “we’re an entertainment hotel and noise is expected”
I expect noise at this hotel but not like someone is sitting in my room partying and smoking all night.
I will never return to this hotel and will stay at the Monte Vista down the road.
The Weatherford cares more about the bar guests than the hotel guests.
- Mike (10/5): -
- Jose (10/5): - It was very welcoming and all the staff friendly!
- Thee (8/5): EXCellent ! It was a vacation island, the Staff Amazing, the Resuraunts GREAT! - EVERYTHING! GREAT FOOD! Amazing Historic Hotel! Great Staff! TV remote battery dead, and TV not set up ( power outlet not clamping on power plug to dish device ) had to set up TV. ( and re arrange set up ( sorry )
Did not see ghosts ;)
- Tara (8/5): - Very tiny room and electrical outlets were sparse. Lighting was inadequate. Not sure if the small window A/C actually worked or not.
Hotel was perfect for walking around downtown. Hotel had 4 bars/restaurants in it. Very convenient. Quaint & historic hotel. Staff was amazing throughout. free parking in back.
- Clark (10/5): - Great, friendly staff.
- Donald (10/5): - An historic hotel with lots of charm. Live entertainment in any one of their 3 bars. Great staff.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Staff and bar service were excellent.
- Frank (9/5): Superb -
- Leslie (8/5): - If you need to catch the train early, this is a perfect place to stay, but beware that the property is historic and specializes in entertainment. Very hard to sleep there. Great bar and restaurants. No AC until June.
- Dale (8/5): Very good - Great location and beautiful older Arizona hotel. Very small room with no AC and no ceiling fan. There was also lots of stairs with no elevator which made it difficult with suitcases. It would be troublesome for older or handicapped guests.
- Angelica (9/5): Charming place, authentically preserved with friendly, welcoming staff. - Charming old hotel; loved decor and even took photo of the curtain fabric, a traditional upholstery print. DOn't know if I can find it, but would like to use it on a chair. Wonderful staff resolved problems promptly and was most welcoming both at reception and even your security guy. Downside: I think you could change outlets to 3-prong without excessively compromising historic accuracy. The grounding wire would also enhance your fire safety. Without wasting a considerable amount of water you can barely get lukewarm washing water. I opted for a bath rather than a frigid shower and, after filling the tub 1/3, I finally got something a few degrees above room temp. It never did get hot on this floor. Might be worth checking out on-demand water heaters for upper floors. This feedback is not meant for your other customers but for the management.
- Lorrie (10/5): - What a lovely old hotel!
- MAYRA (4/5): - The building itself is pretty cool. The staff was very friendly. The room needs some TLC. Carpet was in ill repair and smelled extremely musty. Air quality not good. There is a rule that AC is only used at certain time of year, should clearly state that when booking. The radiator is extremely loud in the middle of the night. For the cost to stay per night room and amenities not of equal value. Parking very limited and not clearly explained before booking.
- Tina (8/5): Best Front Desk Gal!! - Bailey at the front desk was phenomenal!! Very friendly & attentive!
- Paul (4/5): - Great location, staff was amazing and so friendly. Don't expect to get much sleep so noisy and you can hear the people in the next room. Hallway light shinning in your room is not great either.
- Travis (10/5): I got a chance to meet the owners and they couldn’t have been more kind and welcoming.Absolutely wonderful stay - Right smack in the middle of town.
The history that is preserved at every turn is spectacular.Truly a Flagstaff gem
- Margo (10/5): Enjoyed Stepping Back in Time - We stayed here for the history. It's meant to take you back in time (so rooms are basic or luxury for the turn of the century) & it didn't disappoint. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner & 2 of the bars for live music (1 acoustic & 1 band). Staff are friendly, helpful & full of haunting stories. We experienced a few things ourselves. This is a small, old West & Route 66 town, (with Amtrak station), but packs a punch of restaurant & bar options. Lowell Observatory close by & hiking. Would stay here. Parking is limited behind the hotel & is first come/first serve (requires a tag which you receive at check in). On Your Check In Day (probably late morning after others check out), if you see a spot, take it & head inside to "Check In" so you get your car tag. They also offer a parking lot across the street during that businesses off hours, so that is an option as well. Most, if not all, of downtown require pay for parking.
- Kimberly (10/5): Amazing hotel - Beautiful hotel, excellent service from all areas. No air con, TV or basic amenities in the room. Had to open window to cool down which made the room noisy but beauty of the hotel and location made up for it
- Chase (10/5): Historical photos posted about were very neat and loved the staff as they were very friendly and helpful. - Access to pool tables was very cool.
- Oates (10/5): Wonderfull - Staff was friendly.
Food at restaurant was well priced and very tasty and good.
- Tara (8/5): If you’re looking for a great location to hit the local bars and pass out for a quick weekend it’s perfect. If you want - Location was amazing. The old building was beautiful. We really enjoyed the bar in the basement The room/bathroom was a little small for the cost. And the bed was incredibly creaky
- Alexander (10/5): - Beautiful old hotel! Like a Time Machine.
- MikeB1952 (8/5): Quaint Hotel Downtown - So, we stayed two times, once on the way to Grand Canyon once on the way back. This is an older hotel has been renovated. It’s clean and modern-ish while keeping its charm. The help has been very friendly, chatty and working hard to be helpful. We had a mixed experience with rooms. The first room (#25) is on the first floor down the hall behind one of the bars. It feels like in a past life the room was a storage area that they’ve converted into a sleeping room. To their credit they’ve maintained some historic charm. But it is just too basic. Little sitting areas, no place to hang anything or put our luggage. The room is rather Spartan. And it’s a bit cold with an old radiator and a mini-split high on the wall. Our second room was upstairs (#46). Much better. Larger with plenty of space to put things. More modern while keeping its charm. Of note, the place isn't quiet. They have two bars, both with loud music. The Weatherford is right downtown.
Overall, we liked the place and would stay there again (just not in Room 25).
- Christopher (8/5): Wonderful experience. - Bailey was awesome as was all the staff. Rooms need a refresh. It is an old hotel but the rooms could use an update, new carpet, tile, etc. Beds and hard and lumpy.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Karah (8/5): Very good - We loved the location, the character of the property, the helpfulness of staff and the advance communication about what to expect. It's an old building, so the rooms are small and floors are creaky, but we knew that beforehand so it was all good! I know I list a lot of constructive criticism, but we actually really enjoyed our visit. While we were prepared for creaky floors and city noise, we weren't prepared for an extremely creaky bed. Unfortunately this resulted in pretty poor sleep, as there were loud creaks with any movement at all. There are also windows from the room to the hall, which we felt should have been tinted or had curtains, because it let in the light from the hall at night. There were signs encouraging us to turn off the hall lights off if it bothered us, but not all lights could be turned off so it was still very bright! I also think the parking lot behind the building should have angled rather than perpendicular parks, as it was very very difficult to park when any large vehicle was in the lot and our car ended up getting scratched, which really put a damper on the visit. Also the shower poured water onto the bathroom floor, completely soaking the bathmat (literally squeezing out steams of water). Again, potentially the perils of an old building, but I do worry about that much water on the bathroom floor!
- Diane (10/5): Fantastic - It was an entire different experience then you would get anywhere else
- Richard (9/5): Loved our stay at this beautiful historic hotel. Definitely would recommend. - Very friendly staff. Hotel was beautiful and loved that it was kept in the original late 1800 vibe. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re into historic architecture.
Location was perfect as it’s in the middle of the historic Flagstaff town centre. Surrounded by beautiful little shops, pubs and restaurants. We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and did not disappoint. Food and service were excellent.
- Jorian (2/5): The worst mattress ever - For the price, this hotel is dreadfully under-equipped and outdated. The mattress was not a queen as advertised, but a full instead, and left us with sore necks and backs. Terrible quality overall.
- Nigel (4/5): Location great. Staff , young with best intentions but no idea of what is expected in catering for a 65 year old in aski - Location and outside appearance Room was a postage stamp size old style cube with no services. No TV and an out of control heating system which had to be regulated by opening a nearby window which then allowed the local train network to keep you awake during its overnight operations.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurie (7/5): Good for a getaway weekend - Location, quaintness It’s a historic hotel & you have to keep that in mind. Bed was uncomfortably hard, room temp was hard to regulate, view was horrific, shower/tub is old fashioned & small, however rooms were spotless… front staff was young, minimally available nor helpful & not very professional for hotel staff. If you are looking for a modern hotel experience, this will not meet your expectation. If you want to stay in a cozy, historic location in the center of town without a lot of amenities, this is great place to but not for more than a weekend. Charley’s was a cute place to stop for a drink & listen to someone strumming a guitar, did not have food, drinks were good. Gopher Hole had Karaoke both nights we were there & was empty. Did not try the restaurant.
- Jill (5/5): Passable - Love the history Our room didn’t have a shower? Only a tub w a long handle no way to take a shower
- adrianadomenica (10/5): Don’t miss in Flagstaff! - Super charming! Staff was above and beyond - they were welcoming, friendly, hospitable. Can’t recommend enough and don’t understand the lack of stars. Don’t come with expectations of a cookie cutter experience - expect carpet, antique, vintage wallpaper. We loved the historic feel and the three bars with cozy fireplaces. It was like staying in a museum. But, to reiterate, the staff were who made the experience. Shout out to Patrick and Hammer!
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): - The hotel and rooms are beautiful. The staff was really nice and the area is full of stores, coffee shops and restaurants.
- Taryne (2/5): Good location but will not stay there again. - The hotel is right in the heart of downtown so it’s a great location. No shower curtain for the shower so couldn’t use the shower. The window above the room door is a window with no window covering so the bright lights in the hallway flooded our room all night long and we weren’t able to sleep.
The hotel has several bars with live music and it’s too loud.
- Wendy (10/5): Great location, fantastic staff and history - Great location! Restaurant and bars onsite, and right in the heart of historic Flagstaff. N/A
- Alyce (5/5): Passable - Location Price
- Carlos (7/5): Good -
- Craig (7/5): Good -
- Samari (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (4/5): - From outside the hotel looks very nice with verandas that make it look like a New Orleans hotel. The lobby has lots of character and the restaurant was very good on the night we ate there. The hotel is very centrally located with lots of bars, shops and restaurants nearby.
So, why the poor rating? Well, there are no lifts so we had to hump our cases 2 floors up the stairs and then…the room was terrible. We were lucky to get a bathroom (apparently some of the rooms don’t have private bathrooms) but don’t think of bringing a cat to swing, or in the room for that matter. There was no tv, a small double bed in the corner, no hairdryer, no water, a chipped sink and bath, and no floor space for our cases. We have been travelling Route 66 for 2 1/2 weeks now using lots of quaint motels and even stayed in a wigwam - all of which had bigger, nicer bedrooms (and tvs). Sorry Weatherford Hotel, quaint with character doesn’t excuse small room and lack of basic traveller comforts.
- Eric (10/5): Old time traveler feels! - Having originally been from Philadelphia it was amazing to see a building from an older era. The history of the hotel is on full display throughout the building. Loved all of it. Maybe just make sure the radiator isn’t set to high before guests arrive. Took awhile to get the temperature back to a comfortable setting.
- Dan (9/5): The perfect base for a stay in Flagstaff - A perfect location and all the music and food one could want. Limted parking, but we did ok.
- Phillip (10/5): If you seek for a historical hotel to make an forgettable trip. This hotel is for you. - History, location and cultural
- Neal (8/5): Very good - Awesome old West experience. Lots of nightlife choices. Great location and walkability. The staff was hit or miss. Patrick was great at the front desk. . There was a food and beverage manager who seemed to lurk around and "correct" adult hotel guests as if we are children. Guests are required to ask for ice for their rooms, and that's where her involvement should begin and end. She should be asked to stay in her lane in my opinion. She unwittingly affected my opinion of a very fine establishment.
- Mark (7/5): Great location - Great location. Vintage architecture. Small rooms. Lumpy bed.
- Dale (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (8/5): Very good -
- Judith (9/5): Superb -
- Echo (9/5): Superb -
- Laurie (10/5): Exceptional - Facilities were amazing. However while waiting to check in. I was getting offers to stay there half of what I paid. Online
- Rhonda (5/5): Passable -
- deeppurple1509 (10/5): Fantastic - Fantastic old building. Great entrance. staff friendly and helpful. Met the owner who is lovely and very passionate about her hotel. Had great conversations with her, Ate and watched blues music fab evening, food is lovely. Great atmosphere
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional - The location was great ,it was nice that they have 3 bars on location. Beds need to be updated
- deboarh (6/5): - The room was very hot and the air conditioner that was in the room barely put out any air.
- Derrick (9/5): Superb -

- Douglas (6/5): Good but noisy! - It’s very close to downtown and right in the middle of the action. Parking is behind the hotel, which was nice and free. It’s a cool historic property, but it’s super noisy because there’s a bar downtown below the broom that we stayed in that last until three in the morning
- Becky (10/5): - Three room was clean. Three rest of the place needed sober cleaning. Staff was ok.
