Guest Reviews
- Monica (8/5): - Staff was friendly kinissies inside just the outside area was a bit hush with homeless people walking around nothing they could control
- noah (10/5): - Great place very clean organized and nice staff
- Misty (10/5): - A safe place to stay while visiting.
- William (8/5): A loft bed and a shared bath - This hostel type low cost option is a good value for the price, but one should arrive with realistic expectations. As an older traveler, I chose it in part for the experience and in part for the location. I got a good night’s sleep.
- Stephanie (8/5): - Very good stay for the price! My first time at a Podshare and I would definitely stay again. Solo female traveler and I felt safe and cared for in my little pod. Centrally located, lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
- Lucas (6/5): Not the best hostel - The hostel looks unique and cool from the pictures. When I arrived at 6pm it was so hot I was sweating in the hostel. The A/C was turned on later that night. Laundry was $7 a load. There was no curtains on the beds for privacy or darkness. Bring an eye mask. The area didn't seem safe with the homeless tent across the hostel, and parking is on the street. So if you have a car make sure you read the signs. I had to move my car and walk a half mile to the hostel twice for street cleaning.
- NATHANIEL (2/5): - The one Employee there was snobby and was easily offended by my coughing which i had no control over... This was not a good hotel at all
- Irene C (8/5): - As I said before I appreciate that it’s available because housing and lodging , very expensive. Nowadays we need to be frugal and practical. My time is spent mostly at work so all I need is a safe place to sleep. It’s not for everyone. The extra large bed is the only sort of private space I have , the rest is shared.
- Anthony (10/5): - Had a peaceful stay.
- Irene C (8/5): - I truly appreciate finding Los Feliz Podshare. I came to LA to work and not as a vacation. Majority of the places that are available and convenient to my needs are very expensive. All I truly need is a place that I can sleep safely.
Although I must say what truly makes this place special is the crew that manages the place . Addie, Michael and Nick . They try their hardest to make this place clean , safe and feel like home.
To stay in this place one must realize it’s not a hotel where you have your private space . But with it is the savings that you’ll get and the opportunity to see and meet different people from all walks of life .
So I highly recommend for anyone to try it.
- Karla (10/5): - transportation easy and excellent service
- Mauricio (6/5): - Hubo un incidente de acoso entre un hombre y una chica. Falta seguridad.
- FenRong (2/5): - very terible experience, the worst, night mare, will never be there again, and the charge is not corresponding the service it can provide
- Dinara (8/5): - Good
- Donald (4/5): A little more niceness would work - I like the location and the layout of the area is pretty good but all the staff live on the same floor as the pods so they are there consistently day and night. You never know if they’re on duty call of duty, and the information they provide doesn’t cover all the interruptions that happen during your stay.
- Megan (6/5): - The bathroom and kitchen were too open to the sleeping quarters.
- Dayjah (4/5): - PodShare Los Feliz was unsatisfactory. The listing is a bit deceiving image-wise and unprofessional. I might try a different Podshare location next time. The young lady checking me in did not seem equipped to address my concerns with her taking my credit card and taking a picture of my ID. A record they have all the way back to 2018. So people's ID pictures were just on an iPad with anyone able to walk up and have access to them. I had a reservation so I was definitely going to show up. No one bothered to clear the selection that was supposedly mine in the fridge. Therefore, I had no fridge space when I arrived. Some random person banged on the door in the middle of the night about getting their stuff. I was confused about why that was happening, but it interrupted the quiet hours she stressed to me so much and she didn't even adhere. The place appears to haven't gotten an update in a while. This would have been fine as a hostel if it weren't for the lack of cleanliness causing me to get bitten by bed bugs. I have pictures. I went into the hostel fine and woke up with bites after night 1. I thought it was weird but thought maybe I got a mosquito bite. The following day I had more bites than I did before and a swollen eye from bites. Keep in mind I covered the hostel pillows with my own brand-new pillowcases. I still got bitten up. Lastly, this place was sort of difficult to find. I had to call someone because the entrance is just a door on the corner with no sign.
- Stephanie (6/5): - The check in process was fast and convenient. You can come and go as you please.
There was no toilet paper and I saw some roaches in the kitchen. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and it was warm.
- Deedra (6/5): Not as pictured. Kinda scary. - Reality versus the pictures are very different. It was dark and dingy, the kitchen was not very clean, I was scared to walk around without shoes, the people were very sketch, at one point during the night there were six people sleeping at the dining room table in the middle of the night. It was an….experience.
- Brian (10/5): - Love this place. Of its available, book it!
- William (10/5): - Amy And Zeke are a asset to this little gem of a property Me being in the hotel and hospitality industry myself i had to write what a great experience i had staying with podshare they go all out and beyoud to make you feel welcome. Keep up the great vibe ...
- Michael (10/5): Clean & Efficient & Easy Check-In 🏁🍀 - I ended up transfering to the Pod Share property DTLA, for no other reason than it was closer to my client in Little Tokyo. The DTLA spot was clean, efficient, hospitable, and low drama. The RA / Manager runs a tight ship. Check in was quick yet thorough. This comminal enviornment successfully navigates accomadating the night crawlers while ensuring the business / lower key guests have a chill expeirence. Not easy to do, but the guy in charge has got it down to a science. A great location in the heart of the Arts District and the facility is safe and secure. Well done Pod Share DTLA.
- Andrew (10/5): Great for CHLA - My son was having surgery at CHLA. Being from Ventura I was looking for a place to stay during his visit. Only one parent was aloud to stay overnight due to Covid. This place was perfect. Not even a 10 min walk from the entrance of CHLA. I called ahead and asked about parking. Only street parking was available. I ended up buying a parking pass for CHLA. Every night as I was leaving I would go to my car and grab what I needed for the night. It wasn’t I didn’t trust my stuff from getting stolen, it was just easier to take my backpack. They have quiet hours but you can come and go at any time. It was great being so close to the hospital. I would call every morning to see if my son needed anything special from vons that was on the way. Only ended up being there to sleep so I didn’t feel like I wasted money on a whole hotel room. (The closest hotel had really bad reviews). Booking and check in were super easy. When I picked my pod they write my name on the board above it. I would definitely stay again if I and down at CHLA overnight. I had my own area in the fridge for my stuff and they had community shelves. Any parent needing a place to stay if you child is in the hospital I would definitely recommend this place. There was nothing close to the price and location around.
- Deon (8/5): Amazing - It was good experience clean showers and bathrooms an beds.
- Juliet (10/5): - Very nice people and very clean for a typical hostel. Definitely recommend to people that need a good in and out spot.
- Matthew (10/5): Looks good in pictures...even nicer in person! - This PodShare Is a very cool place! It’s decorated like a rustic cabin and very much feels like you’re on a camping trip while you’re there. The facility is extremely clean and modern and there’s a well-equipped communal kitchen if you like to save some coin by making your own food instead of eating out. It’s definitely much nicer than hotels nearby that are 2-3x’s the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ok stay. Nice bed space. Good area. Good shower. Shops near by.
- Kiernan (10/5): Perfect!! - Staff is incredibly kind, helpful & inviting. Very clean and a great location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome place. Great stay.
- Gregory (10/5): Great. - The hostess was amazing. Made sure I had everything I needed!
- Michelle (10/5): 10/10 !! - Outstanding! Very clean, respectful and hospitable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was great bed shower kitchen big plus because I don’t like eating out I’m able to cook in there so this great! The only down fall staff was nice but She kept asking f my debit card over a then kept telling be quiet I was asking about pod felt little disconnection Host! She ok! Expedia was good on connection a booking was QUUCK!
I most likely book again soon! It was good sleep
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It Was Definitely Different From Anything I've Experienced. It Wasn't Terrible But There Was No Breakfast Which Sucked
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay! Fun environment, right in the Heart Of Hollywood.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly helpful staff. The location is within walking distance of great coffee shops, and the train station is nearby. Will definitely stay here again.
- G (2/5): - theyre rude.. lied and pretended were booked when not. looked gross dark and not well maintained
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The location was very convenient and had good places to eat. The property has good amenities. The staff member (Drew )was so in unprofessional. I didn't appreciate him burping loud every time he walked by my bed, it was beyond gross. I asked him to fix the light fixture and could not get it done, I had to do it myself. I would not recommend this place if he still works there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff did not feel attentive while I was there. 10pm quiet time was not enforced until later.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - First time staying in a podshare and it was awesome. Yeah u meet a lot of great people and everyone is so nice. The beds were very comfy and they offer free WiFi. I will definitely be stay here again
- Antonio (8/5): PodStay-total pod - Easy to book, great location, friendly staff. Payment easy and quick. No cover over bed so no privacy , had a television.
- sima (10/5): - so well organized, very clean, and best location.
- Monica (4/5): OK if you don't get claustrophobic easily - I ended up not staying there upon my arrival. The hotel manager was very nice, but I got claustrophobic upon entering the PodShare. It didn't appear like the photos on your website. Parking was quite difficult too. I have stayed in many hostels but this one was dark, with a lot of luggage strewn across the floor.
- David (8/5): - Quiet most of the time. Unique and interesting shops and restaurants. Close to transportation including subway.
- Kim (8/5): - The staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom sink could have been cleaner. Overall a pleasant stay.
- Bryan (10/5): - My star ratings are based on what I paid. Los Feliz Podshare is not a five star hotel. But for what I paid it was an excellent value. Staff was very friendly and helpful, other guests were friendly, and most importantly the bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean! First time staying in a hostel would definitely do it again at Los Feliz Podshare.
- Beachgirl (6/5): Comfortable & Convenient - I was shocked upon check-in to learn the place is “co-ed” but prob due to my not throughly reading all info before booking. No privacy at all but the place was quiet & guests & staff were nice & respectful. Was not thrilled with the weird satanic painting on entire side of building as I approached the property. Overall, a good spot with Del Taco, Wendy’s & McDonald’s a few blocks away. Very cool that each pod is provided its own TV & remote with free streaming TV & movies. I felt safe there.
- Bonnie (8/5): Great location, restaurants and bars nearby - Had a great time here! The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are great to use. The quiet time is nice and having your own tv is a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again
- Nobu (10/5): - It was very clean and comfortable. If you don't mind if there was no privacy (because there is no curtain for each pod), it must be a good stay. And it was really cheap.
The place is close to the Metro train station, and the DASH Observatory bus stop. So, it is a good place to go sightseeing.
One problem I noticed is about a bathroom. There was no shelf or thing to put my cloth, and a floor was flat. So it was hard to keep my cloth from wetting.
- April (10/5): Try it!! ❤️ Podshare! - What a neat place to stay! I was traveling without the family. It reminded me of my childhood sleep away camp lol! Just cleaned and no bugs! The staff was friendly, guests we cordial but everyone really kept to themselves. I had a top bunk-easy access via stairs. Bed was just a mattress and surprising comfy! The top bunks overhang the bottom bunk, so there is a little extra aisle-perfect for my suitcase with room to spare. Kitchen well organized with space for community items as well as designated space by your pod number. Great grocery store a few blocks away. Parking is a bit tight-watch out for red painted curbs! Didn't see it the first night I parked. They will ticket. I would absolutely stay again!!!
- Orlando (6/5): Nice place, shame about the owner... - The staff on arrival were really friendly, the blond guy and girl were really nice especially and explained everything about hostel, place is very different, pretty cool in decent location nearby hollywood. Have to say was having a good time, until the owner (or manager?) came in and started to make a scene. She came into the hostel and started telling the staff off for not keeping up the 'community vibe', then she turned her attention on me and started really passive aggressively complaining about my towel being hung over my doorway to my pod as it was ruining the 'vibe'. Apparently me drying my towel and having the slightest bit of privacy so I could inject my insulin (i'm diabetic) without the whole hostel watching and making me and everyone else uncomfortable was 'totally unacceptable', and I should stay in a hotel if I wanted any privacy... she continued to complain about me and the whole place to the staff and at the staff in the kitchen, within earshot, which was pretty rude. After that, despite being a very polite, clean and respectful guest, I felt like some sort of criminal and didnt enjoy my stay afterwards, shame really as up until then I thought this place was great.
- Kevin (10/5): thanks for a great stay! - Great stay! I appreciate the location and the ease of staying. I was pleasantly surprised.
- Hyunah (8/5): Quiet and lovely hostel - It was quiet and lovely! Cozy too. They have quiet time from 11pm so it would be good for those who need some calm quiet relax. Plus the local area was also safe enough.
- Grace (10/5): Clean, comfortable and stylish - Loved my stay at the Los Feliz Podshare! The facilities were new and quite spacious for a shared 'hostel' type of accommodation, particularly the bathroom which was much larger than I'd expected. The mattress was comfy, and the guest towels, extra toiletries for use plus the TVs in each pod were also really nice touches. The other guests were pretty friendly and chill, and still respectful of noise levels and personal space. Only area I docked a point from was staff, because there was no one to check me in at 4pm which I was surprised about/waiting for an email reply for awhile. Once they emailed back to say I could self-check in though, everything was great.
Location-wise, the Podshare was within quick walking distance to a lot of great cafes, a supermarket, second-hand clothing stores etc. I'd *highly* recommend walking to the nearby Vista Theatre (~5-10 mins) to catch a movie in one of the last remaining original 1920's Hollywood theatres! The neighbourhood itself is fairly quiet, but with a lot of interesting areas nearby. It's about a 20 min cab ride to the main Hollywood strip, and an hour-ish from Santa Monica.
I definitely loved staying here and wouldn't hesitate to come again next time I'm in L.A.!
