• Rachel (9/5): Relaxing stay! - Practically had the place to ourselves!! Pool area beautiful and our cute little gaeden area was an added bonus. Huge bathroom...powerful shower and hairdryer!! Fridge, security box, mats for the beach. Yes it is a bit of a walk to the beach....but worth its..its so beautiful and has a breeze!! Think we felt it more as its soooo hot this time of year.... We were only there for two nights and was a perfect relax before the long flight home. Both restaurants we ate in close by served fab food. 7/11 round the corner. Decor a bit tired and cold feeling but clean and tidy.

• Claudia (9/5): Authentic style in the village, not far from the sea and the airport of Phuket - Authentique atmosphere in the village of Mai Khao. Peaceful and easy staying far from holiday resorts. At 1,5km you have a marvellous beach, Dirk has been so kind as to let us use his bicycles to reach the sea. Our room was comfortable and clean, WiFi worked well, swimming pool was nice and Dirk always ready to help. We have really appreciated Orchidilla!

• christine (10/5): - We loved the gardens and swimming pool. The accommodation was very spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. (Cleaned properly every day). We loved Mai Khao itself - relatively under developed, quiet but with easy access to restaurants, shops and supermarkets. (Check out Mama's for particularly good food, it's within easy walking distance). The beach is 0.7 km away. We used the bikes, supplied by Dirk and Ohm, to get to the beach. Alternatively , you can go by tuk tuk from the nearby 7/11 - or walk, it's not so far. Nothing. Amazing stay.

• Fedor (10/5): Отличный бюджетный отдых, прекрасные хозяева. - Уютно, спокойно, приватно, чисто. Оборудованная кухня, вместительный холодильник. Практически пустующий небольшой бассейн с чистой водой. Правда температура воды в нем близка к воздуху- 32-33 град. И конечно, добрые хозяева, готовые всегда придти на помощь, подсказать лучшие места для посещения, покупок, еды, и т.д. Пожалуйста, не ищите здесь уровень соседних вилл по цене ровно в 10 раз дороже. Двери там конечно притворяться будут без зазоров, но нам не сильно мешало. Здесь бюджетно, и по соотношению качество/цена для длительного отдыха это жилье для многих окажется предпочтительнее. До пляжа 15-20 минут неспешным шагом, мимо продуктового 7-Eleven (оплачивал картой Юнион Пэй Россельхозбанка). У хозяев можно взять и велосипеды, если лень прогуляться на пляж после завтрака. Кстати, рядом с пляжем найдете душ с пресной водой. С муравьишками справились быстрее, чем я успел написать Дирку в вотсапе. Бокалы для вина любезно предоставили по первому запросу. В 16-ом номере кухонная плита работала слабо, а в 20-м, куда заселились позднее- без проблем. В бассейне вода пресная, чистая без запаха, но у меня немного резало глаза- видимо такая химия. Очки или маска решают дело. Душ и лежаки здесь же. Но у нас номер с садом, приватно и прекрасным видом, здесь же лежаки, зонт, столик, стулья. Если приеду еще на неделю или дольше- только сюда.

• Francis (10/5): Die beste Unterkunft die ich in Thailand besucht habe. - Die schönste Unterkunft die ich bisher in Thailand besucht habe. Der Besitzer (Dirk) ist ein sehr netter Mensch und immer für einen guten Tipp offen. Sei es essen, trinken, Strände oder Ausflüge. Er kennt die Gegend wirklich sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Sowas hab ich bisher hier nicht erlebt. Im Kühlschrank steht Wasser und Kokosnusswasser bereit für die Ankunft. Zudem gibt es ausreichend Steckdosen, die auch wirklich Sinn machen und nicht wie sonst irgendwo am anderen Ende von Zimmer.

• shadow (10/5): - Bardzo miły i pomocny właściciel ♥️ samo mieszkanie bardzo czyste, przestronne. Duża łazienka, w kuchni jest wszystko czego potrzeba. W salonie wygodna sofa. Domki są bardzo dobrze wygłuszone, sąsiadów nie było w ogóle słychać :) basen czysty, dla nas wystarczająco duży. Nie jest głęboki ale spokojnie można się w nim ochłodzić i popływać :) super jest to, że leżaki są tak rozłożone w ogrodzie że nikt nie siedzi blisko siebie, jest zachowana odległość, a to daje większą intymność. Ogród jest bardzo zadbany, zielony. Ponieważ obiekt jest w oddaleniu od głównej drogi, to nie słychać hałasu, tylko śpiew ptaków:) Zdjęcia oddają to jak wygląda obiekt. Co 2 dzień jest także sprzątanie, pani jest bardzo miła i dokładna. -

• Rob (10/5): Perfect for our liking! - Not being a lover of large hotel complexes fighting to get towels on limited sun beds around the pool what is in offer here is perfect. It is located in tranquility and we loved the fact that we felt relaxed with everything that ticks all the boxes of our type of vacation. All the staff and in general the local people made us feel incredibly welcomed. Busy traffic to negotiate walking to nearby restaurants and convenience stores particularly in darkness. No footpath resulting in an intimidating experience dodging cars, hired motor scooters and tuk tuk’s. None of this of course is in the control of the accommodation management and it certainly wouldn’t put us off staying there again.

• Mishel (5/5): - Тихо и спокойно. Хороший номер с терассой и кухней. При бронировании учтите что не все номера со своей терассой и кухней. Нам пришлось доплатить на месте. Бассейна фактически нет. Маленький, не глубокий и очень много реагентов. Плаватт невозможно , разве что сидеть в воде. Терасса теряет свою функциональность, тк нет навесного от солнца. С 10 утра выходит солнце и небольшой зонт не спасает. На кухне почти нет посуды: нормальных кастрюль , сковородок, мисок и тд. Очень много муравьев, даже если следишь за чистотой и не оставляешь еду. Также удивило что при выезде нельзя оставить на хранение вещи. Пришлось переехать на сутки в соседний отель, где девушка была очень милая и разрешила оставить чемодан.

Very helpful hosts especially Dirk who spoke to us in German although he spoke good English which was good for us as we don’t very often get chance to speak it back home. Would have been nice to access some tv when weather was bad but we did have internet which was good. It was a bit out of the way for Old Phuket (almost an hour) causing a few taxi issues but we knew this before booking.

Just 10 min walk to the beach with 7/11 right next door and MANY extremely delicious and affordable meals. The fruit is delicious and a full kitchen let's you enjoy the mangoes as well. We took day trips to old phuket, phi phi island tours and central phuket. It was nice to come back and relax in a quiet domicile after the hustle and bustle of an active day. The owners Dirk and Ohm were extremely courteous and very helpful..

• Gillian (6/5): Some good some not so much - The space was super clean and I loved the bathroom. It was huge and loads of space to dry things. The pool was lovely and clean too. Each time I used it there were only a couple of people there. It was near a little village that had shops, places to eat, everything you’d need. It was a long way from the beach and there was no shade when you got there. Mostly I found the accommodation uncomfortable. The bed was punishingly hard. I couldn’t sleep on it the first night but when I mentioned it to the owners they kindly supplied a mattress topper. That made the difference of being able to sleep but I was sore for my whole stay. A massage did help with that too. The sofa was uncomfortable and the only place I could sit was the chairs at the kitchen table. Not very relaxing. Younger people may find it all ok. It was pretty basic I’d say.

• Livia (10/5): A piece of paradise, tranquility and cosiness - So relaxing place in a small village, near the wild Mai Khao Beach. The host and his wife and all the staff were so kind and helpful. They even ordered the dinner for me, when I arrived in the late evening and was too tired to go out. Also Dirk gave so much useful information about everything. Thank you very much! The pool in the tropical garden was so nice, especially after the heat of the day. Very clean rooms, good wifi. 5 minutes walk to 7/11 and many good restaurants around. The Yum Yum restaurant near the beach was just fantastic... You can walk there (about 20 min) or take a tuk tuk or taxi. We had to leave:(

The hosts Dirk and Ohm were very welcoming and gave us many tips on what to do and see in Phuket. They even have a website outlining the possibilities and attractions available in Phuket. Everything was perfect.

Everything was in working order, including the air-conditioning. 10-15 minute walk to the beach, so not ideal for those who don't walk. You can bike though. Good food options - dine out or self cater. Great location in general for this end of Phuket. Close to the international airport. Nothing really. We were there to relax and we did. TV could be newer and easy to change the language from Russian to English. The outdoor, private area was bit of a waste as we didn't use it.
• Cindy (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, kitchen space, very spacious! A smart TV would be fun, we were able to us youtube however we needed a VPN to cast our Netflix. Not a big issue! Dirk was very nice, however he does provide much of the conversation oriented towards his own beliefs and provides alot of opinions that he thinks are shared by everyone… and this may not the case. Very kind person and outgoing for his guests, he just needs to become more curious about his guests, ask question etc rather than rant for 15 mins 😜 about the issues of the current world!

Great Wi-Fi. - The host greeted me, it was all very clean, large room upgraded for free due to my 9 day stay. The POOL is fantastic. Never crowded and always clean! Housekeeping does a great job. Ohm and Dirk are a really nice couple and always available. They very much support local businesses and I did as well. They arranged a taxi for my departure to another hotel, the driver was really perfect and the owners have good connections and recommendations, they have put effort into this. The grounds are beautiful. Their cat is even friendly. I recommend renting a bike or scooter so you can explore more in the area. The bathroom being non A/C. natural air. I know one of the owners sees this as a highlight just not what I like due to how hot it was and tending to not air out really. The kitchen could have a few more things. These are not any reasons to not book here, I would stay again.

• Aiga (10/5): Local vibe just around the corner of Phuket - If you're searching for crowds, laud paries and a big hotel with lots of people - this place is not for you! But if you feel ready to explore local vibe with guests becoming friends and owners your family. You don't want to miss this place of paradise! It is just 40min drive from Phuket International airport. ✔️clean, cosy and modern room, kitcen with equipment to cook, wide batroom with hot and cold water in the shower ✔️strong internet connection inside the room or in the garden ✔️ public pool with salty water. Some days me and my daughter felt that it's our private pool. We will always remember this pool as my daughter learned to swim there. Thankful to Dirk who teached a couple of triks that made the difference. ✔️you can order international breakfast (additionsl cost) what will be served in your room, terace or garden. Our favourite were porrage and pancakes. But in a walkable distance you can find other food choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacking. You can try also the thai dishes.  ✔️food stores, fruit stands and beach side is just around the little Mai Khao centre. Two main streets to explore. As I'm limited in my walking distance ✔️ a great addition was tuk tuk service (additional cost). You can arrange time and point of interest. ✔️be ready, you might be woken up by rooster, birds or dog songs. But this makes this place so natural and great.  ✔️even thought the airport is close. The sound level from airplain depends on the wind blowing. It didn't disturb us. Owners Dirk and Ohm are amazing! If you have questions or you don't know how to deal with the situation. Just feel free to ask. You'll find a solution. Freely speaking English, German and Thai languages. When flying into Phuket this is the place to  start with. Highly recomended!

• Sergey (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and useful host, huge bathrom, clean and comfortable room. You need a car to feel free yourself and visit interesting places nearby. Close to the airport - good to spend last night before early morning flight. Overall, good value for money. Recommended.

• Jaanika (10/5): Exceptional - Honestly, the pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s absolutely spotless clean, quiet, serene and just everything you’d need to to relax. There are lots of restaurants nearby, a 7-eleven and mini big c for necessities. The beach is not crowded and it’s beautiful but the waves are a bit much for a small child (the pool at Orchidilla makes up for that). If you’re looking for a place to just enjoy your vacation without thousands of tourists, this is it. Would rate it higher of I could.
• Meghan (10/5): Small town quiet life - tranquil stay!! - we absolutely loved staying here with Ohm & Dirk, on their beautiful property. we found the property to be immaculately clean, had everything we needed, the grounds were tranquil and inviting, we enjoyed the pool, we enjoyed the close walk to the beach at approximately 10 minutes, the walk to local little shops including 7-Eleven. They were local restaurants we could walk to. This is a very small village and we got to experience real Thai life here. There are market stars in the street. There are chickens and dogs close by. We absolutely loved the nature and being able to experience the none touristy side of Phuket. there was nothing not to like. This is definitely a little bit of a remote location which suited us perfectly. The beach was the first and main reason we chose this property because we were looking for a long long beach where we could walk. The beaches that we found in the more touristy areas were very small. We absolutely loved the choice that we made to stay here!

• Leah (8/5): Very good - The owners were very kind and helpful. The apartment was very clean. It's close to the beach and in a quiet area. We found the check-in a little overwhelming with the amount of information given to us. I would have given the place a 10, but little things were missing for me such as a continuous supply of drinking water, basic cooking supplies (oil, salt, pepper) and basic kitchen cleaning supplies (sponge, washing up liquid, tea towel)... all things which can be supplied at little extra cost but at a high level of convenience for the guest.

• Hermann (10/5): Clean and friendly - Very clean and nice facility. The owner welcomed us for early check in since we arrived quite early. Was very friendly and the service was well above what is to be expected.
• Johannes (8/5): Zu Gast bei Meister Propper - Das Orchidilla liegt eine knappe halbe Stunde mit dem Auto nördlich des Flughafens von Phuket. Keine Sorge, Fluglärm hört man keinen. Und auch keinen anderen Krach. Absolute Ruhe garantieren. Leider liegt die Anlage nicht direkt am Strand, Luftlinie ist er zwar ziemlich nah, zu Fuß läuft man aber schon eine halbe Stunde, was bedeutet: man sollte motorisiert sein. Die Anlage besteht aus zwei Reihen Bungalows, insgesamt ca. 10. Meiner bestand aus einem Aufenthaltsraum mit Küche. Diese ist sehr gut ausgestattet, z.B. gibt es Toaster, Reiskocher, Mikrowelle. Fernseher mit Internetzugang im Aufenthaltsraum. Sehr großes Bad und Schlafzimmer. Alles ist fleckenlos sauber, oder besser, wie in einer alten Werbung, nicht nur sauber, sondern rein. Der sauberste Bungalow, der mir in Südost-Asien jemals untergekommen ist. Am Ende der Bungalowreihe befindet sich eine kleine Gartenanlage mit Liegestühlen, Sonnenschirmen und Pool. Ganz nützlich, denn am kilometerlangen, wunderschönen, einsamen Strand Mai Kiao gibt es weder Sonnenschutz noch Liegen. Zu Fuß erreichen kann man in der Nähe einige Restaurants, ein 7Eleven, eine Apotheke.
• Christian (10/5): Super hôtel proche de Phuket. - Très bon "hôtel". Les chambres appartements sont très spacieux et bien équipés (salle de bain gigantesque !). La piscine au sel est une merveille, ouverte 24/24. Dirk et sa femme sont très accueillants et sympathiques. Les petits déjeuners sont à choisir le jour d'avant, et sont très bons. C'est un plaisir de manger dans le jardin sous la tonnelle en bois. A quelques centaines de mètres se trouve un excellent restaurant ( le white tree) qui propose une cuisine de qualité pour les autres repas. Une très belle plage se trouve à 15 minutes de marche. Astuce : les appartements avec jardin disposent d'un meilleure literie que les autres (lits moins dur). Si vous cherchez un hôtel proche de Phuket mais pas noyé dans le tourisme de masse, n'hésitez pas !!
• Henryk (10/5): Außergewönlich - Wir haben den Unterkunft hier leider nur für 8 Nächte gebucht. Im Nachhinein wissen wir schon - es sollten noch viele weitere Tage dazukommen.Die Residenz eignet sich genauso für einen nur mehrtägigen Aufenthalt wie auch für Langzeiturlauber. Die Anlage besteht aus 10 Einheiten. In einer davon wohnen die Besitzer - ein thailändich-deutsches Ehepaar. Jede Einheit besteht aus einem Wohnzimmer mit einer vollausgestatteter Küchenecke, einem Bad und einem Schlafzimmer. Alle Räume sind groß, hell und sehr sauber. Die ganze Austattung von bester Qualität. Alle Geräte funktionieren tatellos, über eine Smart Box ist man jeder Zeit medial angebunden. Jede Einheit besitzt eine überdachte Veranda, allen Gästen steht ein Ruhegarten mit einem kleinen Pool und vielen Sonnenliegen zur Verfügung. Die Besitzer genießen in Mai Khao offensichtich ein hoches Einsehen, als Gast der Residenz wird man schon nach einigen Tagen persönlich begegnet und angelächelt. Mai Khao ist eine kleine Ortschaft unweit vom Flughafen Phuket, ohne dabei vom Fluglärm richtig belästigt zu werden. Der sehr lange, schöne Strand ist von bester Qualität und nicht überlaufen - von der Residenz nur eine knappe Viertestunde zu Fuß. In der Hauptstraße findet man etliche, noch ursprüngliche, authentich thailändische Restaurants und Geschäfte. Nur hier kann man noch Ananase für keine 20 Bath kaufen. Wer vom Großandrang und Lichtgewitter ein bißchen Abstand sucht ist hier goldrichtig. Danke Ohm, danke Dirk.
