• bobsuewest1 (10/5): Bellissimo Traversina - The location is a little challenging to get to, but worth the time. Small winedy roads through beautiful countryside. There are small signs letting you know you are going in the right direction. It is very green and gorgeous. Our apartment room was very rustic but had all the amenities. A stove, small fridge and a mocha pot. If you forget coffee Rosanna has some. The property has been in the family for hundreds of years. Take them up on meals. They are vegetarian and delicious. This family makes you feel so welcomed! Absolutely loved it! Bob and Susie
• shI6953XV (10/5): An Italian secret in the hills around Serravalle - A secret look into a grand example of Italy's past, set within rolling hills and easy to get to from Milan or Genoa.. An old vineyard family house with marble staircases and a wonderful feeling of homeliness and tranquility. "What time are you getting up at", asked the lady of the house, whilst responding to her own question with "I hope not too early". I arrived late, offered a local glass of red wine and enjoyed home made breakfast the following morning with a playful kitten. Went for a quick walk before heading back in to the wilds of the business world- excuse the pun! If you want to get away from it, then this is the place- great food, great location, great hospitality and great value also!

• GrandTour53706392507 (10/5): Best Agritourismo in Italy - Our third stay at Traversina since 2016, and we will be back again. This is our go to Agritourismo in Italy. Cannot say enough about Rosanna (and Bize) who are some of the warmest people we have even met. Magical rooms, dinners, people and countryside... a piece of heaven on earth.

• soulefultraveler (10/5): Unique spot - We stopped here after flying into Milan airport (drive about 1.5 hours south). Not easy to find, but there are signs (get there before dark). Lovely old home and lands with great views even up to the Alps on a clear day. Very welcoming family. Be sure to be there on a night when they cook dinner. Excellent and very reasonable. Not a lot of other dining choices in the immediate area. If you want a fancy hotel with lots of amenities - not for you. If you want an authentic experience with an Italian family, this is for you. They get a lot of repeat visitors.

• afm682018 (10/5): Beautiful and peaceful place!! - we loved it!!! The stillness when you arrive is breathtaking.... room was cosy and the matras slept very well. Diner from Rosanna was every evening super-delicious and we never had such gorgeous tomatoes from there own garden. Also the wine is made by themselves and tasted good! Eating in Traversina with the other guests was every night so nice!! we can recommend this beautifull place!!
• pantheas2017 (10/5): Breathtaking. - If you are in the neighborhood and looking for a place to stay the night.. and might I say lucky enough to get one of the 5 rooms that they have to offer, just do it. This is an absolute gem. The rose garden makes you believe you are in the middle of a storybook fairytale, the hospitality of the people that owns it, and also cooks your “set menu” for the evening.. I am truly lost for words. This place must be experienced and not written about so; This is as genuine as it gets, in the best way possible.

This is place is an amazing find if you want be at peace and harmony with nature and just chill and relax. The rooms and flatlets are all shabby chic and beautiful and the gardens are an array of colour and simply stunning with amazing views. Rosanna the host welcomes you to her home with her family and cooks you authentic Italian meals with home grown ingredients where you then sit with other guests all different nationalities around a big long table and share the experience. This is the real Italy ..... thank you Rosanna.

The balcony to our flat was all I could have wished for to begin the holiday relaxation. For restaurants Gavi has the best choice. We dined at La Cantina which was extremely good.
• 660andresf (10/5): This the best place to be in nature, in a wonderful house from 1800 and best home cooking from Piemonte - It was an incredible experience to be in this original house from 1800 in the middle of the Piedmontese nature. The garden is absolutely gorgeous and you can sit and relax drinking a glass of wine with an spectacular view of the hills. The host, Rosana will surprise you with an excellent dinner! better than any restaurant around the area.
• joannast63 (10/5): Garden of Eden in Stazzano - La Traversina is unspoiled nature at it's best. Everything has a wonderful balance, from the common areas to the spotless rooms and apartments. Friendly warm hearted hosts greeted us with an outstanding dinner, excellent homemade wine and grappa. Very good breakfast. And not to forget the friendly cats Rosina, Peppino, Peppone, Roberto, Moretto and sweet dog Bigia, who give this place a unique atmosphere. • sarahtC6690CK (10/5): Simply wonderful! A peaceful retreat with delicious, authentic food and wine. Highly recommended! - We loved our stay at La Traversina. From the moment we met Rosanna, we knew we had encountered someone who loves to host others and does so with warmth and ease. The property built by Rosanna’s family 300 years ago is beautiful and cozy, surrounded by nature. We slept soundly to the sound of crickets and the summer breeze through the trees. The resident sheep dog and cats made us feel even more like we were invited guests staying at a friend’s home. The meals were delicious - homemade authentic, Italian cooking. On our arrival, Rosanna promised that at dinner that night we would be eating the best tomatoes we had ever had - she was absolutely right! A simple preparation of sliced tomatoes from the garden was not only delicious but gorgeous to the eye. As we learned, these beautiful heritage tomatoes are a varietal that have been grown by Domenico’s family for generations. We loved the communal dining table where we met other guests from other parts of the world. The wine from Domenico’s family, another generations old tradition, was a great addition to an afternoon reading outside under the canopy of trees and as an accompaniment to dinner. As we do with all the places we stay, we thoroughly read through all the reviews left by other guests. After staying there we know that La Traversina’s hundreds of positive comments are well deserved, but we remain baffled by the few guests who were unhappy with their stay. This is our only explanation: this is a special place that attracts people who are drawn to its simple and quiet beauty. But every once in a while, someone must not read about La Traversina and just shows up expecting five-star, hotel-like accommodations with meals that are fussy and where dining is done at a private, secluded table. We have stayed in places like that with guests like that - it’s not our preference and that’s why we wanted to come to La Traversina when we discovered it. Come here if you want a quiet, relaxing retreat in a rural, non-touristic area of Italy, if you enjoy simple, delicious, rustic, home-cooked meals and eating alongside other like-minded people from different parts of the globe. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return, putting La Traversina on our itinerary during our next travels through this part of Europe. We will go out of way to stay there again! Highly recommended!
• LPMLE (8/5): Brilliant place to stay when driving south through Italy from France/Switzerland - A delightful agriturismo which seems really secluded though it is actually quite near a town. You eat with the family, so get to practice your Italian if you want to, and enjoy the delicious home-made food and local wine. Rooms are comfortable, we have stayed in the same one twice, looking out across the gardens.
• 370stefanl (10/5): A place to return to again and again - We have stayed at this wonderful place many times now, time and again deciding that yes, we'd love to spend another week with Rosanna and Domenico. Over the years, we have stayed in each of the three available appartments, which all have their attractions (an incredible balcony, or a wonderful porch, or a spacious living area). There are also four rooms available. It is always a treat to eat at the dining table of the famliy. Don't expect dainty dishes, but savour the down-to-earth Piemontese courses Rosanna serves up. If you're looking for peace and quiet, a place to recharge your batteries, this should be your pick.
• 439PietV (10/5): Be part of a Piemontese family and experience their lifestyle - Stay at this azienda agrituristica only if you like to experience how the owners of this place have been living and sharing their lives with their guests for 27 years now. Don't stay here if you think this is some sort of a hotel. In this lovely place you can experience Italy Slow. The slowfood concept is integrated in the breakfast and optional dinner as much as possible. Some might say it is simple and maybe it is, but this is how the slow life is lived and I fully enjoyed it. Mainly because I believe it requires a lot of guts to live of your own small piece of land as much as possible, which also has to provide for the guests. The owners and familiy members are extremely kind and very willing to help you planning a daytrip. Our room was very spacious, with a separate bathroom and every day clean towels were supplied. The surroundings are very quiet, a good place to start your hike or mountainbike/racingbike tours.
• 147nigelb (10/5): Hidden gem of tranquility - A narrow road climbs deep into the countryside to a remote and an absolutely charming farmhouse, overgrown with creepers, on a steep hillside of orchards and gardens planted with irises, roses, vegetables, and pots of enormous hostas. Charming hosts with meals provided communally at a long refectory table. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, our room was charming and the "door opening" dog was quite bizarre. We were en route between Antibes and Brescia so only stayed one night, however we would happily have spend many days there.
• Henrikhoy (10/5): Hospitality and kindnes - We came back to La Traversina this year, since it was such a success last year. We stayed there for 4 nights and it was just as perfect as we remembered. Sleeping in the apartment, coming over for breakfast, planning the day, asking Rosanna or Vittorio for advice on which way to go and what to see is a perfect start of the day! The apartment is cosey with our own private terrasse. The breakfast is great with newly baked bread and pastry, omelet and cheese. Spending the day in the silence zone at the pool, reading a book is just so relaxing. Please respect that this is not a place for children, this is one of the reasons why it is so relaxing to go there. Stayning for dinner with the other guests and the family is so good fun. We had many interesting talks and the atmosphere is happy, relaxing and giving. The food is the amazing italian kitchen with vegetabels from the graden. The wine is locally produced in Piemonte and very good. The family makes you feel like their private guest, you forget that you're actually going to pay when you leave. This is the best place we have ever been to. Its not luxurious or cheap. It is a feeling of hospitality, kindnes and a place of harmony. It is not a question of if, but how soon, we can be back!
