- Chantal (10/5): - We had a lovely time at Boxotel! Got upgraded to a suite on two floors with a private rooftop terrace, which we thoroughly enjoyed. A real oasis! The hotel is centrally located, close to metro stations, and yet the room was very quiet. Room was beautifully appointed, very modern. No cable to watch the news live, but there is on demand podcasts. The full kitchen had everything you need (dishes, pots and pans, dish cloth, and of course an expresso machine with some pods and sugar). As a surprise, a light breakfast was also served for free in the morning (yogurt, cheese, wrapped pastries, oranges, expresso/capuccino...). Note : the hot tub was closed and it was not clear if it was going to reopen. The sauna and the rooftop terrace were open. Great place to stay!

- Nikita (8/5): - Liked the downtown proximity from the hotel and the cleanliness. However, the bed could have been firmer and when staying in a room viewing the street-side, the noise at night was loud (especially pertaining to the multiple sirens)
- Gergely (6/5): - 2nd stay at Boxotel. Unfortunately, it was not as good as last time. Room was clean, hotel was "fine" but it has lost its sparkle. Also - the main reason we booked again, the roof top jaccuzi / spa (which is what teuly justifies the price of this place) was not working / "out of service indefinitely". This was not communicated to us at any point until we got our bathing suits on and went to the roof and saw the hand written sign. Apparently its been out a few weeks now, so would have been nice to have been informed prior to arrival - as i would have booked another hotel. At almost 300 a night, absolutely not worth it. Otherwise, the place is fine. Staff are doing their best, I know its not their fault. C'est la vie I guess.

Convenient location within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, public transit, museums. Our suite was very clean with great view of the city. The concierge, Nabil was very welcoming and accommodating. This will be our go-to whenever we visit Montreal. Highly recommend the Boxotel. 10/10!

- Cheuk Man (4/5): Not a 4-star hotel-. Min service - About 15min walk after getting off the 747 bus from the airport. Staff only available after 10am. Very minimal service. Must need a passcode to enter. If you want to leave your luggage at the place before 10am, you need to call the number on the door to gain access. The room is equipped with a full kitchen. Hair and 1 bug found on bed sheet. I won't say this is a hotel such the min service. Good complimentary cookies at the counter. There's better ones out there with the price I paid.

- Diana Flore (2/5): - Very disappointing stay. I booked this hotel based on all the glowing reviews but was very disappointed. When I walked into the room the first night, the room smelled like raw sewage and the security latch on the door was broken. It was late so I didn’t call the front desk. The next morning, I told the concierge that the room smelled like sewage and the security latch was broken. He said he’d send someone up to check on the room and see if he can give me another room if he’s not fully booked after 12 noon. He said if they couldn’t resolve the issue, he’d send me to another hotel. He added that we were on a very safe neighborhood. I did not feel all that safe. I spent the entire day exploring the city. He never called. By the time I went back to the hotel, the concierge was gone. They do not have someone at a front desk 24/7 (which is fine) but beware. So I had to sleep in that same room with the sewage smell. In my opinion, this hotel is not worth the price. It’s a 2-star hotel at best.

- Emil (10/5): - Super cool and high tech hotel. It's amazing to see what exists to make homes and stays smarter for their user. The programmed lights and the automated curtains are the best thing in the room. You have to be very comfortable with the people on your room, the frosted glass is not as opaque as I thought. The room and the hotel are very minimalistic, but they have everything you need to have an amazing stay. I didn't think it would be worth the price, especially during the weekends but it is quite a unique experience, I wouldn't hesitate to come back during weekdays.

- Chantel (10/5): - Everything about our stay was perfect. The hotel was impeccably clean and well designed. Most of it is self serve which made it feel like home. The lobby was always fully stocked with snacks and great coffee and espresso, and the manager was always close by if you needed anything. The rooms had literally everything you need: fully stocked kitchenette, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, pots/pans, washer/dryer, dish-ware, fridge/freezer, ice, you name it. As a bonus, the entire facility was minimal waste and very eco-conscious. We can’t wait to come back!

The area has lots to offer within walking distance, without it being loud and bustling, and with 2 metro stations close by it is really accessible to get around the city. - Elizabeth (10/5): Modern convenience - I really enjoyed this clean, modern hotel--it was affordable and the rooms have cool, modern touches. It's not a full service luxury hotel but coffee and snacks are available in the lobby. The proprietors couldn't have been nicer and let us stash our stuff there on the last day, and also found a few items we forgot int the rooms. If we'd had another day we would have bought groceries at the market and cooked a meal in the full room kitchen to eat on the roof, but it was a quick trip. If I make it back to Monteal I'll stay here again
- Craig H (10/5): First time in Montreal - We had a fantastic time in our Montreal stay and Boxotel was perfect, it was right between neighbourhoods so it was quiet but close to the action. It was quite warm while we were there, so it was nice to always be able to head back to the apartment (and it is more like an apartment than a hotel, it is very spacious). We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Montreal :)
- Alexandra (10/5): - Terry was very communicative and all staff we interacted with were super nice. The rooms were well appointed and the location was perfect for our weekend in Montreal. The robes and towels were very comfortable and we slept great. The fruit, yogurt, and coffee in the lobby was nice every day. Hot tub was under construction so we were not able to use it. Rooftop was beautiful! Will stay again!
- Juan (10/5): - The hotel is located at a perfect location near of place de arts and Montreal Jazz festival venues only 8 minutes walk, we love it, the staff is amazing above and beyond, the spa included super nice sauna and steam shower, the super expresso machine for coffee available all day is a plus and also the pastry. Love the entire property eco friendly and modern at the same time. Next time we come to Montreal definitely stay at Boxotel again.

- Dani (10/5): - I had an absolutely amazing stay here. I travel a lot, and I can honestly say it’s the most quiet hotel stay I’ve ever had. I heard no one in the halls, outside was quiet …amazing. The people who run it are so friendly and personable, the roof top area is lovely. The blanket was also by far the best hotel blanket I’ve ever used! Comfy, clean, just all around pleasant. Area was fine to walk at night, train station is a reasonable walk as well as a lot of dining options in the area. I 100% will be back, thank you guys for the lovely stay!

- Rennel (6/5): - This was billed as a 4star - which I feel is a bit overstated. I would suggest this is a 3-3.5 star -max. Regardless Rooms was spacious and features-quality bedding, the furnishings were a bit worn and the bath products were similar to a 2 star hotel. Location- area was pretty rough - a lot of folks asking for money and drinking on the street. If this was a 3star my rating would be a 5. Does not really meet the standard of a 4 star -No premium services similar to a 4’star (no Concierge services, 24-hour room service, vale etc)

Room was large, clean, and equipped with everything needed from laundry to kitchen items. Bed was comfy and patio was nice. The bathroom has glass walls but still very nice. - Kary (10/5): - Incredibly equipped. Purposeful design from the front door to the patio spa and everywhere in between. Staff were so gracious and helpful. Chia seed for breakfast was chefs kiss. Sauna and Turkish steam spa were fabulous - clean, peaceful and well maintained. Room was incredibly equipped with dishwasher laundry and the fastest chilling fridge I ever came across. Everything you’d need was in the kitchen and yet everything felt minimalistic. Absolutely loved our stay here. Would come back again and again.

- J S (6/5): - This is not a hotel. It's an apartment block. It's a great apartment block. But it's not a hotel. So it doesn't have the things I'd wanted from a hotel: quick check-in, staffed 24 hours, restaurant, bar, cafe, room service, late checkout, centrally located in a busy area. This would be great for a long term stay but not for a one night business traveller. So I was disappointed, especially because at $260 per night, it was priced as a high end hotel
- Janice (10/5): - Loved our stay at this boutique hotel. The staff were warm and helpful. The hotel was nicely decorated and our room was everything we could have hoped for. It was nice having a fridge, freezer kitchen area. The room was the perfect size for 2 people, and the layout worked really well. The bathroom was spacious and I loved having dimmed lights option. The attention to detail made our stay extra special. The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the continental breakfast. There were good food options, apples, mandarins, muffins, mini pastries, cheese and yogurt. My issue was with the coffee machine, it was out of milk so I wasn’t able to make milk based espresso drinks. In the grand scheme of things this is a small thing. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others!

- Ashley (10/5): Spacious rooms and a warm welcome - I had a lovely stay at Boxotel in May 2025. The rooms are very spacious and have a full kitchen and I also had a balcony. One thing to look out for is that they will send you a text message with your code to enter the main entrance and your room itself. I did not receive the text as I had switched to a Canadian SIM card. No problem though as the man on reception quickly let me in and even allowed me to check in early as I'd arrived a couple of hours ahead of the check in time. The hotel is conveniently located to the east side of the city with metro stops nearby but downtown is only a 20 minute walk away.
- LG (10/5): - This hotel was exactly what I needed after a long day of travel, and the staff was so kind. Everything from the cleanliness, comfort, location, and unique eco focus made staying here an unforgettable treat. I hope to be back!
- Amusan (6/5): - The room was beautiful and the bathroom was lovely and spacious. However hottub was closed and when we asked staff was informed it stated in line which was not accurate. The sauna was not working and we could not locate staff to support us with the sauna. When staff were available they were very friendly and lovely.
- Tiarra (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay at Boxotel. Our room was beautiful and had a lot of nice touches that made for a comfortable experience. However, staying as a couple was awkward with the bathroom situation. The bathroom is enclosed by plexiglass which is easy to see through at any point in the rest of the room. The door also had a large gap in it. The combo making for virtually no privacy. My only other complaint was that the rooms were concrete floors but there were no slippers provided. Despite these two things, I would still consider staying again!

- Pierre (10/5): 2 nights in Boxotel. - The location is very good, close enough to clusters of restaurants and entertainment, but far enough to be quiet, easy walking. The room itself is as shown in the photo and very clean. My wife and I were very comfortable for the 2 days we stayed there. The only thing I would say is that the morning breakfast area could be better, it's a mismatch to the place. Being in Montreal, we were expected fresh croissants/ pastries , which I am sure is easy enough to find from local vendors. It was a big issue for us, but this is my recommendation to the management, to make it a Montreal experience, this small touch will please the guests I am sure. I parked my car across the street in the paid parking, costs $20/day. For added security, there is underground parking a block away with the university for $15/day. We would stay here again.
- Charmaine (8/5): - The room was clean and well-maintained. Kitchenette was well-equipped. Products were surprisingly nice. Bedding and towels good quality. Dry sauna was great but disappointed not to be able to use the pool/hot tubs. Staff was kind and easygoing and friendly. I'm familiar with the neighbourhood so was comfortable in what others might not see as touristy. I really liked this hotel and will stay there again, for sure.

- Stephanie (10/5): - The café was amazing to sit and have coffee and snacks in the morning! Loved all the plants and ambiance. The dry sauna and steam room were fantastic as well! Unfortunately the rooftop hot tub was out of service during our stay. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and professional. Our room was great, loved the bathtub, shower, makeup mirror and toiletries provided! As it was a rainy weekend and we were out and about, it was great having a washer and dryer in the room! Mattress and bedding/pillows were also nice and comfy. Highly recommend and will stay here again on another visit to MTL😊
