- Rene (9/5): Prima klein hotel, heel verzorg, schoon en netjes. - Heel aardige eigenaar doet overal zijn best voor. zoekt alles voor je uit, geeft goede tips voor wandelen fietsen, eten enz. ontbijt was prima, alles kan. Het weer, veel wind en regen en lage temperaturen. het leek wel of ik thuis was.

- Linda (10/5): - The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout my four night stay. He was interested in my stay without being intrusive, making suggestions about eateries and places to visit. It was much appreciated.
- Kevin (9/5): Ideal for a weekend stay - Lovely hotel with a great view of the sea. Staff were amazing and always had tips and helpful ideas. Parking was a bonus. We had an early check out and Peter ensured that our breakfast was ready and that we were able eat before we left. For us, the bed was a little uncomfortable but that is probably personal preference.
- Isabelle (1/5): Grosse Enttäuschung, Abzockerei! - Die Einrichtung, die Lage. Es wurde als 5 Sternhotel deklariert, in Realität ist es ein Bed & Breakfast. Kein Lift, der Hausherr nahm den kleinen Koffer, mein gehbehinderter Mann musste den grossen Koffer in den 2.Stock tragen. Weil wir das Frühstücksblatt am Vorabend nicht ausgefüllt haben, bekamen wir am folgenden Morgen nichts zu essen. Was für ein 5 Sternhotel!!!
- Richard (10/5): Heaven - I was travelling solo so I had a single room which was small, but perfect for me. I had a side-view of the sea and the coast down towards Brixham and Berry Head and a beautiful window seat which allowed me to take it all in. It was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfy. Shower and toilet were spotless and the shower was a rainfall shower which I did not expect. It was brilliant. I ate at the restaurant the first night and had breakfast both mornings and the food was delicious. My stay was faultless, apart from the weather and I won't blame Peter for that.

- Hannah (8/5): Tranquil location and very relaxing - The location was absolutely stunning right next to the beach and easy walk to a few coves. Breakfast was nice outside but do prefer to choose in the morning rather than the night before on what we would like to eat. Overall loved the mix of options (pancakes really nice!) and only wish the cooked breakfast was bigger as the food was very tasty. Bathroom in room 10 is small, which was fine for me (5ft 2) but a squeeze for my husband at 6ft 1.

The room was lovely with a fantastic view, food in the Bistro was incredible. The only downside was the pillows were a little soft and the duvet thick, when the weather was hot. There was however a portable air conditioning unit in the room which was very much appreciated

- Lucy (10/5): Short, excellent break - The whole trip from start to finish was amazing. The hotel was clean, comfortable and relaxed, staff were attentive, friendly and helpful at all times. The food was exceptional, and variety for breakfast was perfect. As a sole traveller, I felt included and looked after. My room was amazing and felt more than 5 star. It sas spacious and not like other single rooms ive stayed in. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room were plentiful. A big thank you. There was nothing to dislike.

The breakfast was very good and the food in the Bistro was really delicious and tasty. There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.

- Erik (10/5): Lovely place, great quality overall and the kindest of hosts. Go visit them! - Where to start? First and foremost the hosts Peter and Ruth are most likely the kindest people you'll ever get to meet. Add to that a lovely room, good beds, a great breakfast served with lots of choices and don't forget the briljant bistro tapas like food they serve for dinner. All that almost directly at the beach including private parking. Absolutely nothing! If they ever would feel the need to further upgrade the already far above par level of the Hotel, maybe they could consider installing airconditioning in the rooms.
- Adam (4/5): Great location but a B&B, not a hotel. Rear room was very noisy from railway line right next to property. - Location right on sea front. Easy parking. Good cooked breakfast. Not sure why it’s called a hotel really, as everything is more like a B&B. Never been to a hotel before where you can’t check in before 5pm. The room we had was at rear of property and our window must have been less than 10 metres and at the same level of a busy railway line. The noise every 15 minutes was deafening and we both got no sleep til about 1am when the trains stopped……then woke again about 5.30/6am when they started again. The temperature in the room was super hot …..there was a fan (not aircon) but it had a timer with maximum 120 minutes on…….so it went off automatically after going to bed and meant the nights were very uncomfortable. Coffee maker only heated water to Luke warm temperature - suspect it needs descaling or is just broken. There is a bar at the check in desk but it’s not staffed so we were never sure if it was open or not, or whether you had to telephone to get someone to pour a drink - we would have used the bar a couple of times but went elsewhere as it just seemed awkward.

- Stephen (10/5): Just Wow. - Don't delay. Book today,this really is the place to stay. The location is exceptional, with a totally unobstructed view of the bay. Imagine sitting in a beautiful conservatory, which is almost on the beach. Our room was very comfortable and impeccably clean, as was the rest of the hotel. The restaurant should have been closed for some of our nights, but the owner and his wife opened up specially and cooked the most amazing food for us. Throughout our stay, we were looked after incredibly well by a couple who were undoubtedly the best hosts we have ever encountered.

Great attention to detail. The Tapas menu provided a lovely evening meal, everything freshly and expertly cooked. Would recommend a stay here, hope we get the chance to visit again. Thank you. - Collins (1/5): Horrible wouldn’t recommend - The view only The owner was very rude. On the evening we arrived which was my birthday we popped out to get some chips which we ate walking back along the beach. When we arrived at the hotel we couldn’t find a bin so took the rubbish in with us. The following day the owner said I want a word with you and said I seen you bringing take out in to my hotel, we explained and he said I’m not arguing pack your stuff and leave. Also are first night stay wasn’t pleasant as there is a train track right beside the hotel with trains running continuously. Even with the windows closed we could hear them.
- Dorrill (8/5): Beautiful relaxing hotel. - We absolutely loved the room, views, food, and drink. The staff were friendly, but not too in-your-face. The room was advertised with a bottle of wine/prosecco, but this was missing. I am not sure if the advertisement needs updating or not, though.

We ate in the hotel one evening as we had been walking all day and didn't want to turn out again. The Tapas style menu was great, you could choose as much or as little as you wanted and was delicious. The clementine posset was amazing!

(Nice coastal walk) Totally understand the need for rules given a family run b&b. Can be restrictive if you want to dine later than 6. (Other than the 2 tapas nights 6-9)Although you do have the option to eat elsewhere but not always viable after a long day out.

- Liv (10/5): lovely, peaceful place of stay - The property was in a very good location to central Paignton and was in a quiet area within good walking distance to the main attractions. We had a sea view room in room 10 and the room was spacious with plenty of storage! The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was included and was good value for money , good amount of options available. The owner was nice- always there when needed! The bathroom was on the small side!

- Patricia (6/5): well decorated shame about the train noise.... - breakfast was fine, yoghurt and compote good, oil the eggs cooked in had a taste to it sausages were a bit hard a good supply of toast and marmalade very disappointed because the website states a restaurant and shows a lovely selection of fine cuisine and this was not so! all that was available was their version of tapas which was very little for a lot of money not good enough... A missed opportunity, as their rule is you can only eat food that they supply, not really acceptable... Peter was very chatty and friendly but he needs to change his website as it comes under the heading of misrepresentation this really now comes as only bed and breakfast .....

- Andrew (3/5): Dissapointing - The cooked element of the breakfast was nice. The room was very clean. The continental element was not good, cereals were obviously very cheap and of poor quality. The jams and sauces were presented in a tiny little pot that was barely a teaspoon full. It was also a surprise that you had to pay £5.00 extra for the cooked part of the breakfast. The whole thing just felt you were being given the bare minimum. Bearing in mind the cost of the room for the night which said it included full breakfast this was not great. The bathroom was tiny with a very weak shower and the tiniest sink you have ever seen. Not adequate for a supposed 5 star boutique hotel.

Comfortable hotel Felt safe and welcomed being there on my own Good location Good value for money I was the only guest in the hotel so an upgrade to another room would have been a welcomed gesture. Nowhere to put toiletries near the sink or in the ensuite The room was cold on arrival so took all of my first night to warm up.

A very quiet adult only hotel, perfect place to rest and relax. Within walking distance of Paignton centre and good travel links to Torquay & Brixham. The hotel owners were very friendly & helpful you could tell nothing was too much trouble if you asked. All in all, it was a fantastic few days when even the weather obliged and was beautiful. What more could you ask. Nothing to dislike to be honest.

Very quiet location Room 10 has a very small shower cubicle and the shower is not at all powerful (we did discuss this with the owner and they have plans to update). Also a very low ceiling near the window. Tempur mattress doesn’t suit everyone and we didn’t find it especially comfortable. Breakfast is served 8-9am only and you can’t check in until 5pm.

- David (10/5): We'll be back. Most of our fellow guests were consistent reurners, and that says everything. - The hotel is not large, being a clever conversion of an early 20th century beach house. It is light and airy, spotless, and is hosted by Peter and Ruth, who take great pride in ensuring guests are comfortable and satisfied. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, freshly cooked and offering plenty of choice. Great sea views from the room. There is no lift, but the stairs are well lit and compare with a normal household staircase.

It was central and on the sea front lovely view from the balcony. The fact that breakfast was quite early 8-9 am. and you had to order your breakfast the night before. More like a b&b than a hotel.

- Tan36 (9/5): Lovely view! - The view was lovely, could hear the sea, loved having the patio doors and not just a window. Loved there were binoculars in the room, it was spotlessly clean and you could see they paid attention to detail. The bar was open till 11pm and also liked the smoothies. At the moment there is no evening meals, I think guests should be made aware of this as still says evening meals
