Guest Reviews
- Sharon (6/5): - Value for money The couch was terrible.
- din (8/5): -
- Meaghan (8/5): -
- Laurie (8/5): Will stay again - Great location for the venue we were attending, Hagley park, the city and public bus stop right outside.
- Glenn (8/5): Directions to get into the apartment were clear and easy to follow. Place was clean and warm. The sink was blocked and t - Modern and cosy. The lack of lighting in the stair well
- Fran (8/5): -
- Deborah (6/5): - The location was very quiet The property was a little bit outdated with some maintenance issues
- Gabriela (7/5): A comfortable and well-located stay — ideal for a small family exploring the city. - The location couldn’t have been better for us, and having a bus stop right outside was incredibly helpful — it made getting around the city super easy.
It was great to have a bit more space, especially the lounge area, since we were staying with a 3-year-old. The apartment was also nice and quiet at night, which we really appreciated.
The hosts even left a few goodies for us in the fridge, which was such a lovely touch! We booked via Booking.com and selected the 'no prepayment' (pay at the property) option. However, within a few days, I started receiving text notifications about payments being due. I called the property, and they explained that payment was required before arrival and provided a link to pay.
The payment platform they used added an extra surcharge, which meant we were effectively charged processing fees twice — once through Booking.com and again via the payment gateway. After a few emails back and forth, the property removed the additional charge.
The couches in the lounge weren't very comfortable — it felt like the springs might be missing..? Kitchen utensils were a bit limited, though this isn’t a big deal if you're not planning to cook.
Lastly, and this is just a personal preference: we don’t like when properties use flat sheets around the duvet instead of a proper duvet cover. One reason we usually choose apartments like this one is to avoid that hotel-style setup. In this case, the apartment had flat sheets. Not at all a bad thing, just sharing in case you care about this.
- Rachael (7/5): This was a nice unit with comfortable beds. - Location was excellent The couches were old and one was too uncomfortable to sit in
- Emma (7/5): Nice wee apartment - Handy location for purpose of trip.
Good size for spending some time in, unlike a hotel room. Great shower. Off street parking. Bit niggly arriving in the dark.
Some areas a little rough, incl couch. But it was fine. Would have been good to be able to have free to air tv working.
- Megan (9/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Christchurch - Nice air bnb with everything you need and handy location close to hagley park and the cbd.
- Liz (9/5): Fabulous location - Fabulous location for what we needed. Close to the park and city centre very close as well. Warm and sunny. Fantastic beds. Easy access.
- Susan (9/5): Great handy and cosy apartment with everything we needed. - Location to the CBD was great, just to a walk across Hayley Park. Lovely sunny aspect and much quieter than I expected. Comfortable and cosy.
Apartment had everything we needed Can’t think of anything. It just right for our needs.
- Justine (9/5): - Location
- Sarah (8/5): Very comfortable, clean and a great location for walking into the CBD through the park. -
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb -
- England (10/5): Exceptional - Great location
- Kathryn (9/5): Great, comfortable apartment with everything needed! - Comfy, clean & warm apartment with everything needed!
Beds were comfortable It was initially a little hard to locate the property for check in, but it was dark at the time.
- Jarrod (10/5): Awesome place to stay. Nice and central. Thank you - Great location nice and comfortable. Was well stocked and had everything we needed. One of the couches wasn’t at all comfortable I think the springs were gone.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic apartment in a great location! Very comfortable
- David (8/5): Very good - Location Air conditioning wasn't the greatest. Small beds
- Rod (10/5): Great place to stay for a weekend retreat in Christchurch. Very handy location, good access in security, plenty of room. - Very handy location tidy and good facilities
- Waddel (9/5): Superb - It had everything my son and I needed. Very good facilities. The bathroom was quite small. It would have been good to have a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang clothes on.
- Janet (8/5): Lovely and clean. Great location -
- Enser (8/5): Loved the apartment and would definitely stay there again - Apartment was very well stocked with everything we needed. Was a pleasant surprise to find salt, pepper, oil, baking paper, dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc. Often when you rent an apartment you have to buy these things. Kitchen was well equiped Kitchen could have been a bit cleaner and some dishes were dirty in the cupboards/draws
- Raymond (9/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable. - Excellent range of kitchen equipment. Main bed was super comfortable. The instructions for the lock box were not correct - 3560. No where in the instructions did it indicate that the 3 was for the Unit number. The instruction booklet needs updating - there is a new aircon/ heating unit and the booklet deals with the another unit. Instructions on using the TV were not clear.
- Peter (9/5): Well appointed apartment with off street parking in a fantastic location close to CBD - Fantastic location close to CBD on major bus route between Airport-CBD-Lyttleton Bathroom sink was slow to drain
- Vivian (7/5): Good -
- Ganesh (6/5): Nice location, specious rooms, but small bathroom. - Nice location, rooms were clean and specious. Bathroom was very small. No extra bathroom supplies were given.
Not enough room in the bathroom for putting the accessories.
- Timothy (8/5): Great location - The beds were super comfortable and the location was great for access to Hagley Oval. The apartment was quite small. Each space felt a little cramped.
- Hamish (7/5): Good - Good location, comfy bed and pillows, good shower pressure In one room there is a big glass window pane that has no curtain, on second look at the photos you can see it but it’s not mentioned at all so the room is very bright as soon as the sun rises. Overall the apartment is quite small, living room is decent but bathroom and bedrooms are small so not a lot of space for anything else
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Brittany (5/5): enjoyable stay in a good location - Good location, easy access with lock box etc. very tight small bathroom, the place was quiet dusty when we arrived and a couple of cups in pantry were already used/dirty when we went to use them. Considering we had to pay $120 cleaning fee for our stayed i expected the place to be spotless.
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional - Great location. Short scooter ride to the CBD and Hagley Park.
Clean and easy accessible.
Would 100% rebook if I stay in Christchurch again. N/A
- Mg (9/5): Superb -
- Cherie (9/5): Great place, great location, didn't like the company handling it. - Clean, tidy and modern property, comfortable beds. Fabulous shower presurre, perfect. The excessive increased amount of emails I recieved prior to staying. Then also the fact the company said they'd take a percentage security deposit 2 weeks prior to arrival (I do expect something like this). I had also ticked the box which said yes too paying the full amount on arrival, they then took the full amount at the 2 weeks prior, then on arrival held another half which I wasn't expecting. So then left wondering why another large amount was charged to my card.
Totally reasonable request to please take rubbish out to the bins, however bins were not labeled outside on which ones belonged to the unit I was residing in, so just placed recycling in the correct coloured bin. Then recieved another email with a neighbour's complaint of using their bins.
Thought the unit was actually lovely, modern and clean. Just things around the stay lacked concise communication.
- Tomclan (7/5): Good - Blinds ineffective for bedrooms second bedroom light daylight - seriously needs curtains if this is to continue to be rented
- Roger (9/5): Good value for money, perfect for two or three night city stay - Well equipped, just a 20 minute flat walk to the city centre, off-road parking, plenty of eateries near by, good access to major routes and Merivale area One broken light in bedroom, second bedroom had no mirror, blinds a little dated
- Holly (9/5): very happy - beautiful room with heaps of space and a really nice set up. room was clean and nice to be in. very comfortable and happy stay.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Great weekend away for the Corrs concert. - Great location for walking distance to Halley Park for our concert! Close to town, had everything we needed and very comfortable beds. Was smaller than what we thought! Rooms were way too light in the morning could do with better window cover!
- Brendon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wolken (6/5): Suitable for the 2 days but above factors during winter months mean I would not return. - Site close to my daughter
Security in a violent city
Comfortable beds Loud construction noise next door - unavoidable and short term I imagine
Despite using heat pump apartment seemed to not retain warmth. Very cold though outside!
Aging hot water bottle
Heavy rain meant that staircase was treacherous
- Sharon (7/5): Easy access great location good open plan kitchen and seating - Easy access Took awhile to warm up blinds not sufficient warmth and darkness
- Rhodes (8/5): Very good -
- Chi (8/5): Very good -
- Sally (8/5): Very good -
- Mattseth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Campbell (9/5): Superb -
- Bep (9/5): Superb - Nice appartment, really comfortable Builders next door, although they tried to be quiet, starting at 7am
- Heinz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Leigh (4/5): Terrible customer experience - It was easy to find. I received the same information multiple times (12 emails/texts all up) yet the team never addressed my request for early check in.
After the money had been paid, they were claiming I hadn’t paid even though my bank showed the payment completed. Also, they won’t give you access details until you sign an extensive contract which includes agreeing to a $500 bond.
The apartment is small and it looks different from the photos. There were no rubbish bins in the unit (not idea for women who want hygiene related privacy) instead you get one compostable bag for trash and one paper bag for recycle; I found this really gross.
The bedrooms are very hot and we had to sleep with our doors open and it was still too warm to sleep. Again no privacy whatsoever. You’re not meant to open the windows or leave the heat pump on overnight (read the contract).
This place wants your money but they don’t want you.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (7/5): Overall happy with comfort, location, service and cleanliness - Handy to Hadleigh Park and Restaurants etc. Outlook wasn't good, how was it a building site very close to this building. Luckily the builders weren't on site while we stayed there or it would have been very noisy.
Wardrobe had large items being stored in there so hanging clothes was challenging. No Suitcase stands. No shelves in bathroom at all.
- Carpenter (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Charlotte (3/5): Poor - A neighbouring construction site not only noisy but offered no privacy.
I should have been warned so I could have booked elsewhere
- Bridget (7/5): Good -
- Nicole (9/5): very enjoyable, felt like home away from home thanks - clean, great location, quiet
comfortable beds, good shower and facilities tv channels didn’t work - netflix did
- Angie (8/5): - This apartment is quiet and close to city center and Hagley Park.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Warm, private & as advertised
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and facilities. Villa was roomy enough for us.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We didn’t get to stay here as the property was not available. I was advised 3 days out from stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Simple, uncomplicated process for booking a place to stay. No complaints. However I would warn future patrons that the sink in the bathroom has a bit of a kick.
