Tim (8/5): a great hotel well located with a very large carpark - the hotel had great character and the room was really clean and tidy, the food was excellant and the staff couldn't do enough for us. the bed was a bit lumpy I could feel the springs through the mattress, however I still slept well and the bathroom was really clean and modern

Dani (10/5): Fantastic place to stay in the midst of history, and close to big cities. - This property is an excellent little in that is tucked away in a teeny town outside of London. It was a great place for me as I had a car so was able to travel into the city but felt peaceful and relaxed and dint have to be in the hustle and bustle. I was close to Windsor castle (15 minute drive) and the Harry Potter studios, which were both high on my list of must-visit places in the London area. The history of the inn is fascinating and I loved learning about the town while I was there. There is a beautiful church nearby that allows for some quiet contemplation and a lovely morning walk. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and helped make my dog and I feel super comfortable while we were there. The pub has absolutely delicious food (some of the best wings I have ever had in my life). I would love to come back again if I am ever in the area. Nothing - loved everything.

Anthony (8/5): Great pub/hotel near Heathrow - Great pub/hotel closed to Heathrow. Decent rooms and good pub/restaurants. Food was very good. Also a problem with our room was dealt with quickly by the supervisor. Room 11! A superior double that is above the restaurant kitchen. There is a constant loud noise from the extractor/generator(?). We were lucky that there was a vacant room available and we were quickly moved to room 3 which was absolutely fine. I don't feel room 11 should be booked out untill the noise problem is rectified, especially as a superior! They are obviously aware of the problem, so why let the room! Other than this issue with one room it was a great stay and we would recommend to others as long as they avoid the dreaded room 11.
robertfR1254YK (6/5): Disappointed - Booked Jan 25 loved everything about the place setting food service. Booked again Jan 26 not good experience. No mash sausage and chips really. I said OK I will have fish & chips - no fish. Had delicious glass of Malbec - no offer of 2nd drink - upsell upsell upsell. No empty wine glasses cleared to make room. Sausages looked under cooked to me. No steak on the menu yet on the Web site. Coldy reminded service not included - no warmth no genuine friendliness.
Joanna (2/5): A good location for sightseeing and the airport but a disappointing stay - The location was great for us as we were visiting Kew Gardens the following day so wanted to stay on the outskirts of London. The car parking facilities were also excellent. The tower fans provided in the room were appreciated and helped keep the rooms cool in the warm weather. The bathroom decor and facilities were lovely, you’re guaranteed an excellent shower. We were in room 11, the supposed haunted room. I’d have preferred ghosts over the constant drone and banging of the generator or fan from the kitchen underneath that went on late into the night and started back up early hours of the morning around 5am. It was impossible to sleep with the noise, I would share the video but no option to upload. The bed also wasn’t that comfortable. We were emailed asking if we’d like a bottle of Prosecco at an extra charge, which we hadn’t agreed to yet there was one left in the room, which could have easily been mistaken as complimentary. Only 1 tea bag & 1 milk per person, which seemed a bit mean. There were signs saying ask for more if you wish. When we asked for milk my husband was given a pint of milk because only the maids had access to the stock cupboard. This was of no use to us as there were no fridges in the room. Warm bottles of water were left in the rooms. We also chose to dine at the property. Service charge was automatically added to the bill which is a pet hate of mine and whilst the staff were very friendly and helpful, there was a really long wait for food between the starter and the main. During the wait, we couldn’t help but notice the local youths doing wheelies down the high street on quad bikes and whipping out giant wrenches and arguing in the street. Not the most pleasant atmosphere.

The Ostrich Inn is an ancient coaching with much character and charm. The paintwork on doors, walls and trims needs a refresh. It's a bit knocked around in places.

Ian (7/5): Somewhat disappointed. - Lovely old building bags of history. Staff were friendly and helpful evening meal was adequate. Good location for the airport. Comfortable bed. Paid for a superior room but the Accommodation was chilly, room heaters were supplied but were ineffective. Room was located at the rear of the building over looking the car park and above the outside drinking area which with rain and freezing conditions was never in use. However at 10pm I was forced to go and ask the staff to turn off the outside piped music as it was very disturbing. Shower didn’t work properly.

Keith (9/5): Great location for the airport - Location for the airport cannot be bettered by a proper pub. Room was nice and comfortable. Extra blankets and an electric heater kept us warm. Food and beer were ok too. The bathroom was freezing. No time to listen to a podcast in there. Just the essentials. It could do with secondary glazing the same as the main room. Also don’t forget to put your registration number into the machine on arrival.

Vicky Gould (6/5): Alright for £53 per night - comfy bed, nice shower, very clean, nice decor. large carpark A female staff member ( I think she was the shift manager) was very rude. As we entered the resturant, a different staff member told us just to sit anywhere we liked and made no mention of the fact that the corner table was reserved. We initially chose a table with enough space from other diners so we could have a little privacy. Next thing, a couple came and sat right next to us. The tables were so close together we felt as though we were on the same table as them! Without making a fuss, we casually moved to the corner table with no reservation sign on it. It did happen to have 3 xmas crackers on it which we presumed had been left by previous diners. We pulled one for a giggle. A minute or so later, the staff member in question came over and proceeded to tell us loudly that the table was reserved and also really loudly, please don't move tables again! She spoke to us as though we were naughty school children. My partner and I are both in our 50's while she was at most mid to late 20's. You could tell she was really annoyed from her tone and her body langauge. I was highly embarrassed and felt absolutely livid. My partner apologised to her as he is a placid guy who just likes to keep the peace. I did not apologise, as I felt we had done nothing wrong and she was being completely unprofessional. My partner had ordered his food and was very hungry. If this had not been the case I would have simply walked out and told her where to stick the other two crackers. This was our first night at the Inn (19th December). From that evening on we did not purchase another thing there because of our negative experience. Stayed in room 4. On second morning I was woken very early by the noise of the floorboards creaking from the room above. It was really really loud. Maybe some noise proofing would be helpful.

Jade (10/5): Lovely place to stay and a beautiful pub. - Lovely pub, clean rooms and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was lovely! Normally you get a sofa bed as extra but they set up a small bed for my daughter that was brilliant as she would normally stay with us if a sofa bed was an option. Overall lovely place to stay & we were 20 mins from Lapland uk & Legoland, free parking, we would stay again! We couldn’t fault at all.
Steve (5/5): Noisy rooms! - Staff, food, lication Noise in the rooms. We have stayed 3 times. First was fine, apart from noisy guests right outside the ground floor room. Second time was awful. We were in room 11 and there is an industrial scale extractor fan in the lift space right above the room which was full on ALL night. It was super noisy, like lying under a helicopter about to take off. All night! When I complained the following morning the lady on reception nodded and told me I wasn't the first to complain, in fact they get complaints all the time! The last time we were in the 2 bed apartment. The plumbing for the toilet ticked and rattled ALL night, only stopping when we turned the shower on! I didn't bother to complain. The management needs to address these issues, it is appalling treatment for guests and despite it being convenient for us, we will not be going back.

Q7852APmarkd (10/5): Kings John suite - The room .was unbelievable. Only been open a few months but it really has the wow factor. And I've stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms but none this good. Staff generally friendly, loved hearing ghostly takes from one lady member of staff who seemed passionate about the Jarman story. Loved that. Slept like a log, not so much second night in room 9 either the finger clicking and child coughing outside in the seated smoking area by the car park Food (bangers and mash) was decent enough. Put my experience on a FB ghost group called Uncanny (71k followers) which received quite a response from history and paranormal lovers. They loved the photos of King John's room and no surprise there and tales of Jarman whether true, partly or not. Quite a few now want to stay.

Charlotte (10/5): Absolutely incredible find - we’ll be back! - The welcome we received was fantastic and all of the staff were wonderful. It’s a beautiful, quaint building steeped in history with a very comfortable, modern interior. The bed and pillows were really comfortable, we were in the nest and the lounge space was huge. Heaps of drink options in the kitchen, spotless bathroom with a powerful shower and the condition of everything was very high. We ate in the restaurant and the food was exceptional and very well priced. Great service too. This place would be great for those heading for Heathrow, we were heading for T3 and it took us just over 15 minutes. Beautiful, pretty village and it doesn’t feel like you’re near the airport. I’d highly recommend and it’s great for those travelling alone, for a romantic stay for couples and also great for families. I travel widely and this is the best stay I’ve had in a long time. Nothing, it hit the spot on every level.

Yann (9/5): Very convenient for the airport and very pleasant too! - We have used this historic old inn before, very convenient when you need to be in Heathrow for an early flight, it is virtually 10 minutes away. The rooms are fine, the food is decent, they have a proper local community feel to it, it works and we will back again for sure.
Joanne (8/5): - Location was excellent for easy access without having to go into the city and to Heathrow for departure. Rooms were spacious and comfortable Our original room was noisy but they fortunately were able to move us to a quieter option.

Richard (5/5): Ideally located for Heathrow but a hotel would probably have been better - The staff were reasonably friendly, but only really needed to show this when they had to deal with the issues we had. Room was just OK, the shower would only go like warm and the TV was tiny. We ate in the pub and had to send our starters back as the chicken wings were still frozen, the main courses of Caesar salad and burger was also pretty poor. The salad just a bowl of lettuce with sauce and the burger overcooked and tough.

Gemma (10/5): Fabulous, cosy accommodation with lovely food and super staff! - The staff were incredibly friendly and cheerful. We enjoyed a fantastic evening meal. The room was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Super location for Heathrow Airport - 10 mins to T5. Noise from road and airport started from about 6:30am, but that’s the price you pay for being close to the airport! Not a complaint, just some tbh ing for travellers to be aware of.

Frederick (8/5): First stop. - A well decorated comfortable room The shower. You couldn't get in the small shower without turning it on first, which ment my wife got blasted with cold water. Ours failed there was no one on call either, we were unable to have a shower before our long journey.

Emily (10/5): perfect welcome back to the UK after 18 months away. - Only 15 mins drive from avis car pick up after a very long flight. amazing to check in so easily. wheel my case in and take a few steps to the very friendly and welcoming pub for a couple of late night pints before settling in for a very good long and comfortable sleep! This will be my first choice from now on any time I land late at Heathrow and don't want a long, onward drive in the dark. nothing.

Paul (1/5): Party pub or hotel? Can’t be both. - The room was nice, large enough with a very nice bathroom. What the hotel failed to tell us was that they were having a large scaled Halloween party on the night of our stay. Going on beyond the advertised time and what the manager advised me on checking in being 11pm, after 1130pm I had to go back out of the room and find the manager to explain it was impossible to sleep. My son and I both had to have AirPods in playing music to drown out the party, which as we had travelled down to stay local for an event at Heathrow the next morning, completely defeated the entire purpose. Then we had drunk people outside of our window shouting until 1245. Have a party of course, but give potential guests the information and then the informed choice on whether to make the booking. Still tired now a day later. Really spoiled the entire day we had been planning for months. Received a refund on request, but we’d have been better off getting in the car and driving to a lay by. Horrible experience. Glad to leave.

Nice room we stayed in apart from an old cupboard door dumped in the kitchen and a radiator hanging in mid air not attached to the wall. £25 for a chicken burger with no chips. No ghosts were present at the time of this review.

Cosy bar area to eat and drink The food was ok, nothing too exciting. Sardines presented in a tin was not a highlight! Good beer.

Katarzyna (4/5): Place with a history and nice interior but not great for a family stay. Very noisy. - Bed was comfortable, the little shampoo and bath salts were a nice touch, I liked the bathtub in the room, it was 15 min by car from the airport, dinner was really nice. It was very noisy from the street and traffic, including buses passing just in front the window, planes and very loud bar downstairs until late. Windows were very old and broken, floor was uneven and felt like we were going to fall through it. There was a strange smell in the room, perhaps from the bathtub being in the room and a bit of mould.
Stephen (8/5): An excellent overnight stay, 15 minutes from Heathrow. - The Ostrich Inn was perfect for our one night stay prior to travelling from Heathrow. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of free parking for residents.
