- TERESA (7/5): Cambridge City break - A comfy bed and a great location, right by the train station, bus stops and local cafés, made the stay convenient. Ideal base for Wicken Fen nature reserve, National Trust Wimpole House and London link (50 minute fast train) the lack of a coffee machine in the room was surprising for a hotel of this standard. Although free espresso was available in reception, it came in disposable cups, which felt like a compromise. Breakfast was expensive if not included in booking. We were also advised by reception that the hop on /off bus only accepted cash, so we booked tickets through their Events screen, only to find the driver did take card and that we’d paid £27 more than necessary. (worked out More expensive than return to London by train! ) Reception were not helpful when we raised this, and the lack of compensation was disappointing.

- Brenna (10/5): Excellent staff, rooms, food and service. - It was a beautiful modern building, easily accessible local to the centre and train station for parking and an easy 25 minute walk into the centre for shopping and food. Local pubs as well for food and drinks before heading back to the lovely hotel bar. Very accommodating and polite staff. I added an extra celebration package and consequently our room was upgraded free of charge and they really made the celebration feel special. The only downside was there was no car park for the hotel free of charge however the nearest car park was only a 3-5 minute walk round the corner however it do mean an additional £35 expense but it’s nothing we’ve not seen in other hotels.

- David (9/5): Modern city hotel - We were upgraded to a balcony room with additional services, so were more than happy considering the room rate was on special discount to begin with. The room was comfortable and well equipped with all the usual expected equipment. It was a bonus to get a balcony, even if we didn't spend very much time on it (note that the balcony view is mainly city roof tops with a glimpse of open country in the distance). We didn't eat in the hotel, but we did get a drink in the bar and were very well served by the staff. For a luxury room, the hanging space was very small. We were only travelling for one night, so less of an issue, but if staying for several days there really wouldn't be space to hang everything.

- Leonard (10/5): Brilliant hotel in a great location in Cambridge - Property was spotless, couldn’t fault it, location wise, literally 2 mins walk from train station and 15 mins walk to the centre of Cambridge If I was to be a little critical, I would have to say the beds, although they were very comfortable, the king size bed was two single beds pushed together. I know this is the norm with many hotels, and it’s normally fine, but on this occasion, the mattress topper seemed to be just a big duvet which then had a sheet on top of that duvet. As the duvet was so big and thick, the sheet didn’t stay in place at all. It was just a bit of a let down. Given the quality of the hotel and all the facilities, I was very surprised they thought this was acceptable. It was that big of a deal that I felt the need to complain, but I do feel it’s worth mentioning in a review, as they are a 4 star hotel.

- christine (9/5): Good location. Great staff. Quiet room. Window opened which is good. - The King size bed was 2 singles pushed together which was ok but a feather topper was too soft and made the bed too hot. A 10.5 tog quilt was too hot . The pillows were too hard. See above

- jljacobs39 (10/5): Great experience! - Very comfortable and excellent location. We had the Sea Bass there at the restaurant. Along with the Banofee with purée banana dessert. Awesome choice there. Joe (front desk clerk) was very professional and knowledgeable. If you’re trying to decide on hotel stays, pick The Clayton Hotel.
