- Martin (9/5): Lovely wedding venue and a nice hotel. - We came for a wedding and stayed the night. A superb wedding venue, lovely rooms and gardens. Unlike some other specialised wedding venues Le Petit Chateau is also a nice hotel. Lovely room with interesting furniture and a great waterfall shower! Not a criticism but Otterburn is a tiny village a long way from anywhere, don't come here expecting anything other and you will have a lovely stay.

- Jacob (10/5): Beautiful hotel, slightly let down by some kitchen issues. - The property, room and staff were perfect. Garden and seating with fire pits is a very nice location to have a drink. Perfect stay for couples. Slightly disappointed with food. Camembert served without enough focaccia - was charged extra £5 to be given enough bread to finish the cheese. Breakfast disappointing - paid extra £5 for bacon eggs benedict. One very small muffin, served with two teaspoons of hollandaise and two small slice of bacon. Staff very accommodating in getting more sauce. Could've done with one more staff member on bank holiday breakfast service - the two that were on were fantastic but very stretched, didn't get a second to breath.

- Steven (10/5): All-round perfect - Fantastic room, with copper bath. Lovely food. Very comfortable. Staff were very accommodating. Lovely garden and water feature. Not had breakfast yet but it looks great from the menu. Beautiful countryside location with lots of birds and lambs.
- Gary (5/5): - room and bathroom was nice but very tired. enjoyed a walk round the garden lack of choice on the menu . few dishes unavailable after finally making choices before ordering(eg no Ragu as stated for my wife and was not told this before ordering) ,No catch if the day available at all , chose 2 starters instead,prawns described as shell - on and we're actually head-on (not what we expected)seriously overpriced for what you get and we travel and dine out regularly .The lady who struggled to speak English on bar served my wife a pint of cider twice when we requested halves,don't know if this is a form of upsell . place is very rough round the edges ,lack of TLC we think.

The breakfast in the morning was very good and set us up for the day. We would highly recommend a stay there. The dining area in the evening was a bit chilly, could have done with the open fire burning.

- stacie (8/5): - It was a beautiful hotel it was quiet and the receptionist was very welcoming. The room was beautiful and with views of the garden. Food was amazing! We dined on the evening and breakfast in the morning which was a nice selection. The staff were quick at getting us coffee and our food ordered. The menu we viewed online was different to what we had in the restaurant though. We did find hair pins clearly from a wedding party on the floor of the bedroom and bathroom. A contact lense stuck to our duvet cover and the lights were very finicky. When dining for our meal I feel the waitress serving her customer service was a little lacking unfortunately.

- Charlotte (9/5): Lovely 1 night stay - Room was exactly as expected, warm (despite minus temps), nice decor and bed very comfortable. Reception was friendly and welcoming. We stayed for 1 night and were fortunate there was no wedding on that night as even other guests returning to their rooms was extremely noisy (after 11pm) so sound proofing seems minimal. We loved that breakfast was both a mix of continental buffet and order hot food from the menu, however the portion side of the vegan breakfast was very small (1 of each item) so that could be improved. None of this would stop us staying again or recommending to friends!

- Sarah (9/5): So glad we stayed - This hotel is super dog friendly and there are lots of lovely walks close by. There was even a dog menu in the restaurant/ bar. The lodge spaces are great to relax on an evening. It’s decorated really nicely, warm and cosy feel but stylish. The bedroom was comfortable and included some lovely extra touches like chocolate and fresh coffee. I loved the under floor heating in the bathroom. It’s in the centre of the village and really easy to find. We enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast but it could have been a slightly better standard.

- Jade (6/5): Good but not great. - The gardens with the fire pits were a nice touch. The room was nice, but a little tired looking overall. Very dog friendly! Room was cold until about 7pm when the heating kicked in. The pub wasn't great for food, out of date menu online and lots of items unavailable. Given the location and dietary requirements, this made finding food difficult, when I booked expecting to eat at the hotel due to the online menu and expected food availability.

- Trudi (6/5): A fairytale location for a wedding . - It is indeed very quirky and a fairytale location for a wedding , certainly gives the wow factor for a wedding First room cold heating not working well and the coldest day of the year , moved to another room which was warm , bed however too low and not comfortable for our likes, chipped class which I only realised when having a drink and cut my lip

- Rachel (8/5): Couple staying in quirky hotels - honest review - The property was lovely, great location very peaceful until you go to bed! Our room was room 4 right above the lounge where there was a group of people that shouted until midnight and it felt like they were in the wardrobe of our room! Food was lovely but expensive! Staff were very friendly, the hotel was super clean. We had a bad room location, lots of items were missing from the menu and it was very expensive for what it was. £8 for a mocktail which was tonic water with a wedge of lime! Still wounded on that one!

- Julia (7/5): Convenient if attending a wedding here but prices are too high and it’s not the bigger quality we were expecting - We stayed here for a wedding and the wedding was fantastic, ran smoothly and had interesting food choices which I liked However feel we were paying luxury prices for rooms that had stained sinks, dead bugs all over the window. Breakfast was included but it took 40 minutes to get coffee, they had run out of several things on the menu on both mornings that we were there. What was available took over an hour to arrive.

- Cassio (2/5): Great Expectations, Underwhelming Reality - The one standout feature of the stay was the beautiful garden area at the back of the property. It’s a genuinely lovely space — peaceful, well-kept, and great for relaxing with a drink or taking a quiet moment. You can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining the grounds, and it really does add charm to the setting. However, while the gardens are wonderful, they’re simply not enough to justify the significantly high prices being charged for the overall experience. For what they charge, I expected something truly memorable — but the experience felt very standard. The rooms look gorgeous in the photos, yet in reality, they lacked any real charm or luxury touches. Nothing felt premium, and certainly not on the level the pricing suggests. The staff were polite enough, but quite aloof and distant. When you’re paying for what’s positioned as a boutique, high-end escape, you expect service that feels warm and attentive, not like you’re bothering someone by asking a question. Breakfast was another disappointment. When you’re spending this much, you expect a fresh and generous breakfast. Instead, it was sparse, basic, and honestly below what even mid-range hotels offer as standard. Overall, I left feeling that the cost is far too high for what you actually get. Based on how the place is marketed, I had great expectations, but it all fell short — and for the price, that’s the most frustrating part.

- Milena (8/5): Beautiful stay - I was a guest at a wedding there. The venue was beautiful, and the color palette was absolutely perfect, I loved the attention to detail in every single corner. The food was very nice, the breakfast menu had a lot of tasty options, the wedding meal was delicious and the evening food was a great surprise. The staff was very professional and friendly, everyone was extremely kind and delivered a fantastic day altogether. I would definitely go back, we had a wonderful stay. During the wedding breakfast, there was a mix-up with my food, and I noticed part of my table setting was not properly washed. However, the staff fixed it promptly, and kindly apologised for it. I was hoping the bathroom in our room was a little bit cleaner and the mattress a bit more comfortable, but we enjoyed our stay regardless.

- Wayne (2/5): Wedding Conveyor Belt! Very poor staff! Sub standard room! Worst breakfast experience of anywhere we have stopped. Avoid - The wedding room itself was good Room is very dated, going for shabby cheek but achieved just shabby. Space from toilet to shower screen was tiny. Wardrobe didn’t fit any of the clothes on hangers as too narrow! Noise from 6am in the morning was ridiculous! Prices of drinks are way too high £10.50 for a single spirit with draughty mixer! Staff were miserable! Even though you book what time you are going down for breakfast it took well over an hour for a sub standard one to arrive! One sausage one rasher of bacon, raw mushroom! Tomato that was basically just cut in half and placed on plate! There were no pastries left, no yoghurts! You had to ask constantly for anything and everything! I seen one lady walk up to complain to the staff and as she turned away away they just laughed!!! It was mentioned about the breakfast and staff up check out and the response of “ we will take that onboard!” This pottery is a wedding conveyor belt that has that many bookings they are not bothered! They just move onto the next one! I would not spend my money on a wedding here! If you are attending a wedding here as a guest please stay somewhere else local as others we were with did do and had a much better experience.
