Guest Reviews
- Robert (4/5): - Good location and comfortable bed The room wasn't clean at all
- Ellie (8/5): -
- Victoria (2/5): - The location was excellent The property massively smelt of dogs and the room had a stained cushion on the bed. I sat on the floor to do my make up which was a mistake as I ended up with heat lump type lumps on me as if I'd been bitten by fleas.
- Joseph Galvin (10/5): -
- Joseph Galvin (10/5): -
- Joanne (1/5): Freezing uncomfortable not inviting - Location Bad decorating owners had heating on in day and turned off from the mains at night absolutely chilled to bone thro night couldn’t get hold of staff saw them go to mains next morning to turn heating on no signal on tv kettle dirty shower rust and mould wallpaper hanging off
- Megan (2/5): The room wasn’t to bad was standard cleanliness. Stairs smelt like cigarettes , wouldn’t recommend kids staying in the p - The double mattress was comfortable. It wasn’t family friendly especially for kids to stay in.
- Kerry (8/5): -
- Brian (7/5): -
- Nick (10/5): - Everything,absolutely fantastic Nothing
- Pat (7/5): -
- Trevor (1/5): - Not nice cold over paid smell was horrible Place to sleep
- Nicky (1/5): Dirty - Nothing No parking smelled bad didn't even stay the night had to go home
- Jay (5/5): -
- Rebecca (3/5): - The location is good, very close to the centre and the beds were comfy. The hotel room was very damp and dirty and smelt of stale cigarettes. There were holes in the floor underneath the carpet. The window was broken at the top so you could hear everything all night and was quite cold, We didn't dare touch the window for fear it would just fall out. The walls were very damp and you could feel the walls move as you touched them
- Yasir (8/5): -
- Samantha (3/5): Not worth the money - Great location Nothing like pics, definitely not worth £70 a night for family room, it was dirty hadn't been cleaned in a while, thick with dust, stained bed sheets, botched up ceiling, I could go on defo in need of tlc
- Paddy Richer (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Location All fine
- Laura (1/5): Vile property - Nothing bar staff were friendly Did not like this hotel at all
It is nothing like the pictures on booking.com
The bedroom was ok but the bathroom was diabolical
The mold in places in the bathroom was disgusting less we needed the toilet we kept the door shut as the smell from it was disgusting n the noise when switched light on was horrendous n my partner has emphysema so didn't need that on his chest n certainly wouldn't take a shower in there. I have never stayed in a hotel with mold as bad as this
So glad it was for 1 night n then moved to a better cleaner hotel
I have attached some photos although I do have more
- Paige (7/5): - Close to centre Noise on street
- Louise (5/5): - Nice friendly smile on arrival. The room was very dated. Wall paper hanging off the walls stains all over the walls. The bathroom toilet was stained with brown marks running down. Carpets were dirty. Kind of wipe your feet when you leave.
- Sabina (4/5): - The room looked homely It was in need of repair. Hole in ceiling in shower room. Little flying bugs coming out of the tap and little tiny bugs landing on me whole led on the bed. One went up my nose. In the room, cups were dirty. Other paying guest stuff remained in the room. I found a lighter and lip gloss. Could not shut the window.
- King (8/5): - Great location near central pier and shops and restaurants also pubs..
Very clean and tidy beds comfortable I didn't like that family rooms are on top floor because I use a walker it was a bit awkwood getting up the stairs and no lift
- Sarah (1/5): Do not stay here if you want a peaceful night sleep! If you intend on clubbing all night & need somewhere to come b - The location was good and friendly staff Hallway smelt of damp on entering, the room itself was ok but again smelt a bit dodgy and wasn’t as clean as I would expect my standards for the price, front door was dodgy and shower looked dirty. it got worse…. My whole family did not sleep a wink, it was horrendous … felt like I slept on Clapham Common it was SO noisy whether it be people shouting, music blaring, tables / chairs been moved around, seagulls sqwarking, worst night sleep ever. The bed covers were thin and felt the springs on the bed.
- carbry (7/5): -
- Glen (10/5): -
- jason (6/5): Did the job for a couple of nights. - Basic room with shower, adequate as I was out and about until bedtime. No breakfast, room only but bed was comfy enough, had a kettle with tea, biscuits etc. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe which I didn't need but a bonus as even posh places lack them most of the time. Hole in the bathroom ceiling!
- Sam (3/5): Don't stay here - Close to everything we wanted/needed The room was very run down, there was a really bad smell of smoke, the staff weren't very professional and some grown men tried getting into our room during the night saying yeah room 9 there's a young lady in there then said oh they've locked it which no other guest should of known who was staying in what room especially when there was nobody else around when we checked in other than the owner, seems like a really dodgy hotel I don't recommend staying here.
- Kevin (1/5): Plz avoid would never stay again - Nothing As soon as you walk in it’s stinks so bad proper musti smell the shower in room was very dirty the room needs a lot of tlc carpet was coming up big hole in the floor the women who owns it doesn’t really speak to you there no warm welcome dogs barking all day day and night please avoid at all cost
- Danny (7/5): Super location - Great location Could have been cleaner and would benefit from a proper lick of paint both internally and externally
- Zane (6/5): Just right for 1 night - The price and location was perfect The room wasn't clean, with what looked like tobacco on the floor near the table. Decor could be updated. But for the price u get what u pay for
- Ross (8/5): Very good -
- Shelley (4/5): wouldn’t stay again, didn’t feel welcome - location is fantastic it really needed updated. skin and mould in the bottom of the bin. not enough storage space for 3 adults and a child. cups look like they had been used and rinsed for us. Had to take them to be changed. No offer for breakfast. windows didn’t shut. cigarette burn in the bedding and nets in the window. really disappointed
- Omalley (5/5): Passable - It was cheap and cheerful. You get what you pay for a bed and hot water. The place smelled bad of dogs. The owner keeps them down stairs. The room was not the that clean but the bedding was. The bathroom need work and a lot of cleaning but good for what I paid.
- Shazla (7/5): Good - I loved the location and staff was great no reception on TV was in mode for deaf people could not get no reception stepa too steep for me money great foe money bed was not comfortable at all bathroom too small but talking to the staff I know been a few hiccups with bereavement so gotta give her a chance to bring the hotel around but ok for one night
- Shane (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (4/5): Cheap but needs a good clean and TLC - It was close to where we were going, walkable. Quiet area too. Room saved us walking out as it was clean. It stunk. Couldn’t get in and no answer when I rang the bell twice. Phone number was permanently engaged.
- Julie (1/5): Dirty and disgusting - Nothing it was horrible and diety and the smell was horrific It was dirty , disgusting towels and room was filthy would never stay here again the smell was disgusting
- Neil (1/5): That poor we moved on to Liverpool to finish our Easter off - Location/satff Dog hairs smell off dogs broken door on room bathroom poor didn’t want to shower
- Moore (6/5): Pleasant - Bed was comfy Needed decorating, hole in the floor bed room. Carpet wasnt fitted properly in the room. Bathroom wasn't clean
- Daniel (6/5): Pleasant -
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- John (3/5): Poor - No storage for clothes 2 beds in a single room
- Vicki (2/5): Tolerable Simply because it was warm. And it was wet and windy outside - It was warm. The shower was good Did not resemble pictures in any way Very shabby. Just passed cleanliness No thought put into quality. Very basic
- Zena (8/5): The K'S weekend - It was a great area for where we were going and nice view of the tower 🗼😁 also Sue who was looking after the property was a very nice lady 😁 The ensuite had some damp and needed a bit of work
- Emma (7/5): Ideal room for our stay. - Location of the property is great. 5 minute walk to the front.
Beds weee comfortable and had a good nights stay.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jessica (5/5): Meh - Close to the tower
Tea and coffee facilities were good Service was poor
Had an issue with one of the rooms we booked and I felt misled by the photos when booking and the staff were unsympathetic and just shrugged it off even though we had a young teenage girl left without a bed for the weekend
Minimal facilities in the room main issue was no bath mat so had to use one of the bath towels provided and put it on the dirty floor
Our room was cold as the radiator was barely warm but the radiator in my friends room was hot so it meant out room was very cold on a night and due to how unfriendly we found the staff I didn’t feel comfortable complaining about it
- Matthew (1/5): Worse nightmare, DO NOT BOOK - Nothing Don’t look at the picture on the site it’s a trick
Didn’t like anything it was dirty moldy fusty wet through carpet hole In bathroom Celine
Cold and after repotting our issues unhelpful owner ended up going elsewhere with hubby and two children 😡 and paying out again
- Daniel (1/5): Bad - Close to the sea front State of the room was discusting
- Jody (10/5): Perfect for what we needed - Very clean, exctvalue for money and good location
- Martin (7/5): Good -
- Barbara (7/5): Very enjoyable - The closest to everything very friendly staff The stairs but soon sorted
- Victoria (7/5): Great night sleep nice and quiet had a great time away I would stay in june full booked already x - No breakfast put the price was great the lady was always happen to help I would come bk and stay again with my mam x Nothing everything his okay great time away x
- Suzie (5/5): Blackpool Nov 2024 - The room we got was very big and spacious.
Bed sheets were crisp clean, unlike some hotels. The smell of dog when entering the building and all up the walk ways but not in the bedroom.
The shower was so dirty n not looking good but water power n temp was fine, towel was dirty or stained.
- Walker (9/5): Superb - You get what you pay for, it was cheap and cheerful, it was quiet, had a working tv, toilet, shower, wifi, a double bed, kettle etc, what do ya want for £35 a night
- Thomas (1/5): Bad -
- Tina (7/5): Good -
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Dean (7/5): Good -
- Richard (1/5): cancelled my booking and they keep your money dont book with them - none cancelled my booking when we was already on way did not care we had 2 disabled people and 2 kids with us and have not refunded had to like for somewhere else
- Lacey (5/5): Passable -
- Wayne (3/5): honest review of my stay - location wise spot on, not to far from centre but also away from the noise, tea coffee facilities were spot on, decent hot shower beds weren't to bad people have different preference on mattress comfort so you won't please everyone but I didn't sleep to bad. the family room would be alot better if the main wall wasn't covered in damp and mould staining it, also causing the wallpaper to come away, also the roof needs looking at as the ceiling as quite a bit of damp due to some kinda of leak on the roof the full plasterboard needs replacing not just covering with wallpaper
- Stacey (1/5): Can't say anything good so dont - It was close to the fronts and arcades An alarm was going off for over 12 hours so got absolutely no sleep one of the nights we were there it was loud it could be heard over the TV, had to slam the bedroom window 3 times to get it to close and still didn't fully close so was cold at night had to sleep in pajamas and tracksuit bottoms, TV was old and exceptionally tiny especially for a 2 person room a 16 inch TV is no good, tiles on the ceiling weren't attached to it properly and falling down, wallpaper was coming off walls, carpets were old wore down and not clean, rubbish on bedside table from previous guests, foisty smelly throughout room, bathroom door was only on one runner so didnt shut, shower was covered in black mould, room was incredibly small, no wardrobe to put clothes in jad to live out of suitcases as only two bedside cabinets with 1 draw only in room cant add Photos as took a video
- Gail (4/5): Disappointing - Good location Smelt dirty when we entered
- Katie (1/5): DONT STAY HERE! - NOTHING DONT BOOK HERE! THIS HOTEL SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO BE OPEN!
The hotel smelt of foist and damp as soon as you walked through the door. They try and cover the smell with air fresheners all over the building. The room we stayed in has black bits all over the bed. Me and my mum was bitten by something. When we looked up there was the biggest bubble in the top of ceiling which looked like it burst any moment. When trying to tell the hotel we wasn’t happy they told us to speak to a lady in the hotel next to them as the people who checked us in doesn’t have anything to do with it. So this left me, mum mum and 2 young children one the street trying to find somewhere to sleep for the weekend. The people who own this hotel really don’t care about their clientele! If I could rate this property lower I would!
- Brown (1/5): Never again. - The staff were lovely Where do I start- I mean I’ve stayed in some budget hotels but this was the worst. On arrival the building smelt like cat wee. Walking into our room just wow!! The smell was absolutely over powering! Soaking wet carpet , holes around the sides of carpet , decor disgraceful , bathroom has never seen a bottle of bleach in its life , office tiles on ceiling throughout were all mouldy and marked just filthy. The bed was so springy ever my movement was awful.
- Ryan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (1/5): Bad - Nothing as we had to find somewhere else to stay. They gave our room to someone else.
- Andrew (1/5): stay away - nothing, terrible, dirty place, window was smashed, bathroom light didn't work, bed was broken, didn't look like it had ever been vacuumed.
- Rebecca (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - Very friendly and good value. Bathroom needed general maintenance and new silicon to make it up to scratch.
Bathroom bulb needed replacing.
Top half of the bed felt like it had dropped.
No soap/shower gel provided.
- Samantha (8/5): Good value for money, great location. - Comfortable room, excellent location. Bathroom facilities were small and quite basic, not ideal for a longer stay.
- Emma (8/5): The staff are very friendly polite and helpful. The location is perfect. But the room needs updating. Would definitely s - Great location. Excellent staff. Very friendly. The bathroom light didn’t work so wasn’t able to have a shower and had to use the toilet in the dark. The bed mattress had a large dip in it which caused me to slide across the bed.
- Alison (4/5): Disappointing - Good location. Got told our room was ready, went to it. It hadn't been touched, from the previous guest.
- Charlie (8/5): Value for money for how much it cost - Free WiFi , lovely shower Half a toilet roll in the room . Bathroom door was very loose . Mattress was very hard and springy
- Nathan (1/5): Avoid at all cost - Good location Room full of damp and covered in dog hairs
- Lorraine (1/5): mucky dirty hole - nothing everything was dirty smells damp needs shutting down
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Katrina (7/5): For the price it’s a Great sized room, comfy bed and great location - Location, bedroom size, price, friendly owner Bathroom wasn’t clean, floor was very dirty
- Linzi (2/5): Do not stay here. - Location was fine. On arrival were met with a foul smell in the hallway, which carried throughout the building. Extremely uneasy having my children there. The room initially seemed fine, but the longer we were there the more we found. Dirty bedding, grotty bathroom. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but we almost left through the night just to get out because it was so bad. If we hadn't been driving for 7 hours that day already, we probably would have run.
We got up and left as early as we could manage after finding yet more filthy stains on our bedding and old juice bottles lying on the floor. The smell, the uncleanliness, the banging doors, the rowdiness of the street outside, the beds
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional - Lovley hosts room.was lovley and great value for money nothing was to much trouble deffo be bk
- Kelsie (1/5): Crap. - Nothing. Everything.
- Nicola (5/5): Do your research - Location Room hadn’t been cleaned bar maybe a clean bag in the bins. Bathroom bin was rusty and stuck to the floor surround by orange stains, had what looked like possible blood around the bottom of the toilet. shower was mouldy and dirty. Sinks covered in dust. Didn’t have pillowcases on the bed and windows were so mucky could barely see out of them. Plug socket near kettle was loose and wobbled. (I stayed with an autistic 4 year old so could have been a danger) Manager met us in her pjs and wasn’t around for checkout time either making us have to just leave the keys and take a time stamped picture as evidence of dropping off and leaving on time. And at one point of leaving to go out there was a man sitting in the door way smoking as we walked past.
- Michelle (5/5): Passable - Location was perfect Bathroom was filthy , thick dust on the sink shower looked dirty , no toiletries provided. beds were very uncomfortable, no pillowcases on some pillows. Wallpaper was coming off the walls under the window
- Michelle (4/5): Disappointing - I suppose to stay at the Talbot but stayed at the apollo what did I like nothing
- Scott (2/5): Very poor - The location It wasn't clean - the room hadn't been hoovered. The bathroom door was hanging off it's hinges. Too much noise at 7am when trying to sleep with people shouting/slamming doors
- Melissa (1/5): Don’t book as you may end up at Apollo Guest House - I can’t actually review the Tabot house as we were taken to the guest house next door The Apollo Guest House.
I had booked the stay back in June for my daughter’s birthday and at no point were we given any notice of change of venue.
Very disappointed to the point of leaving the property and booking somewhere else to stay.
If you’re booking here please beware as you may be taken next door Wasn’t allowed to stay there, no advanced warning of change of venue
- Brandon (7/5): Good - Comfortable beds and nice staff Shower heads way to small for the shower
- Downs (10/5): The hotel that made our holiday complete - We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights the host was amazing very clean room beds so comfy didn't want to get out plenty of tea milk sugar in room.
You really felt part of the family Kelly mingled with all guests myself and my granddaughter loved it so much we will definitely be returning as. Soon as we can and will also be recommending this hotel (Talbot House on Vance road Blackpool ). To all friends neighbours and family . Nothing I didn't like.
- Nyree (3/5): Cheap but dirty - Location It was dirty nothing like the pics I’m surprised you sell it
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Leah (10/5): Great place, definitely recommend! - Really beautiful rooms, only a 1 minute walk to the beachfront and really cheap. Easily the best b&b i’ve stayed in. Sue was also very lovely.
- Hutchinson (3/5): Poor - What breakfast Dirty
- Stacy (7/5): Good - Great location. Lovely friendly staff. Stayed here twice now and never had a problem.
- Mcleod (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (10/5): very enjoyable. - ideal location. excellent value for money. the view from my room but nothing you can do about that.
