Das Zimmer : Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon, die Aussicht direkt aufs Meer. Auch beim Duschen und Baden hatte man Meerblick. Es war super sauber und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Das Essen : Reichhaltiges, vor allem traditionell japanisches Frühstücksbuffet. Das Abendessen war auch traditionell japanisch und super lecker! Das Personal war sehr freundlich!

• Makiko (8/5): - 夕食は屋久島の食材をふんだんに使った料理で、全てが美味しかった。朝食も同様で、季節の刺身は新鮮そのもの、パンは焼きたて。「屋久島の味をゲストに伝えたい」という愛情がひしひしと伝わってくる食事だった。サービス・食事・建物全てを考慮しても、非常にリーズナブルだと思う。 港へのアクセスが非常に良く、レンタカーなし・一人旅にもおすすめ。最新アウトドアギアのレンタルもあり、道具が準備不足でも安心。売店ではエナジードリンクなどハイキング用品も購入できた。 海の景色が楽しめるモダンなカフェ、敷地内にはウィルソンの石碑もあり高台からの散策も気持ちいい。お風呂は温泉ではないが清潔でゆっくりできた。プールは時期外で利用できなかったが、そこからの景色だけでも十分楽しめた。 前泊の宿のサービスがひどかったぶん、このホテルのスタッフの親切さに涙が出そうになった。屋久島に再訪することがあれば必ずまた泊まりたい。家族・友人、世界中の人に自信を持っておすすめできるホテル。 強いて言えば、本物の温泉だったらよかった。

• Alina (10/5): - Beautiful location and beautiful hotel! The onsen was private and gorgeous, the hotel rooms in the new modern wing were spacious with a lovely ocean view. We greatly enjoyed our stay! The restaurant was also delicious! We had a delightful breakfast and dinner. We also greatly enjoyed the gift shop, which we think is by far the best gift shop on Yakushuma.

• Janelle (9/5): Wonderful! - The location is gorgeous, we chose a sea view room and it didn't disappoint. The buffet breakfast is delicious and varied and was a great way to fill ourselves up on food before a long hike. We really appreciated the facilities onsite, in particular the laundry and cafe, which we used to stock up on coffee and snacks to take on hikes. The staff are so lovely and helped us to book a hire car (thank you again!). As well as being a beautiful location, it's well situated - it's easy to walk to local restaurants, there's a supermarket right nearby that's open until 9pm, and it's a short walk to/from the ferry terminal if your transport is via sea. No complaints! It's a lovely place that seeks to make your stay a welcome and comfortable one.

• Sheri (9/5): Nice hotel in a terrific location - Hotel Yakushima is in a fantastic location. We were able to walk there from the ferry and they offered a shuttle to the airport. The staff was extremely nice and attentive. Also, we had an incredible view from our room. We preferred to eat vegetarian food and that was a little challenging for them to understand at first. However, by our third night they figured out our needs.

The room has minimalistic design, although overlooking the ocean made my stay at the hotel so pleasant Food is amazing, staff is helpful, they have gear rental at the spot! Location is just 3 mins walk from port, otherwise they provide free shuttle bus from airport God, it was the best experience in my lately travels a short stay

• Yuchen (5/5): 不錯的飯店，希望能再造訪。 - 日籍櫃檯人員非常友善 大廳賣的麵包非常好吃 海景房的景色非常優美 採用清水模真的太美了 房間裏有上一個住宿的所有髒毛巾一打開籃子差點嚇到了！但是又沒辦法跟清潔人員用英文溝通！晚餐的食物真的不如預期，如果可以增加費用讓食物更加美味，一定會選擇。不知道為什麼外籍的服務人員服務態度跟專業知識都有帶加強。不過每一餐餐廳提供的甜點都非常美味。

Hiking gear rental FWIW Note: a furo not onsen (aka not hot spring water) You can see what this hotel is attempting but the meal experience falls short: - Food was a huge miss. Dinner hor d'voures were excellent but the chicken balls were dry, the simmered sweet fish was too sweet & burdock not treated correctly (made the dish bitter), dessert was pretty flavourless. - Also serving staff were too eager or completely absent. Had 2 people ask if I wanted dessert within 3min. And then nothing for 20. Views of the ocean are largely walled off from the restaurant & onsen. Sadly Minor point: umisora rooms requires going through lobby to use bath.

The textures and flavours were unique allowing each to stand out. The breakfast buffet was good and had many tasty options. The Onsen and sauna were restful and needed after days of hiking. The staff was very attentive and remembered who you were and what room.

De locatie, bijna naast de ferry aankomst , is ideaal. Het publieke bad mag dan geen onsen heten, maar is zeer aangenaam met een heerlijke sauna. Maar het allerbeste is het eten; het beste en meest verfijnde wat we in Japan gegeten hebben Geen enkel onderdeel Een tip: wij hebben een driedaagse buskaart gekocht. Dat lijkt ideaal maar de frequentie naar de parken in de bergen is heel erg beperkt: twee bussen op een dag. Dan is een auto huren toch een betere optie.

• John (10/5): An exceptional hotel providing the best experience - This was the most exceptional hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was pure luxury. The booking was half board which included not only an incredible buffet breakfast but a seven course dinner of Japanese food. The onsen was available almost all day and was a welcome part of each evening before dinner. The staff were incredibly helpful with all of my questions and always had information to hand knowing that most travellers were there to visit the trails. The hotel has a wonderful cafe in the lobby where you can enjoy fresh bakes with coffee. All in all an incredible experience. An added bonus is its proximity to the ferry and the bus stops in front of the hotel. Nothing. It was really the perfect experience.

Le dîner japonais (nous avions pris en demi pension) est parfait. Nous avons réservé des sorties directement à partir du site de l'hôtel, nos demandes ont été prises en compte. C'était parfait. Il y a une possibilité de location de bâtons, chaussures ... pour la marche. Nous avions choisi une chambre japonaise, il n'y avait plus de chambres de style européen. C'est un peu difficile de dormir sur un futon à même le sol.

• Frances (4/5): Great staff, avoid the very old and fusty forest iew rooms - This hotel is in transition - all the modernised facilities are good, but the old rooms (forest view) are very old. Great service from the staff, they moved our room when it was clear that the airconditioning was not good and the window didn't open. Very nice onsen, good food. The forest view rooms are very old. The aircon was switched off while we were there and we had to ask for it to be switched on as the windows had been sealed. The aircon was smelly and old. The staff (particularly Haba) were great though snd moved us to a better room for our second night at no extra charge

• Sebastian (9/5): Japanese hospitality in perfection, amazing for relaxing after a hike. - Staff was extreme friendly and very helpful, even for Japanese standards. The dinner course was absolutely spectacular and almost too perfect - couch potato me, raised on junk food, almost couldn't take it any more after a few days. Truly exceptional. There was a lot of useful extra information and support available for people who come to the Island to go trekking. Would definitely make a great homebase on the island. I would probably choose this hotel again if I return to Yakushima. The lower third of the forest view from the room was blocked by a nearby roof. Unfortunately, there was no way to enjoy the seaside view much, either - no garden access at all; it seems like such a waste not to make use of it? In a similar vein, although it was still nice to have, the public bath only running on tapwater when there are natural hotsprings in the area seems like a missed oppportunity to raise the appeal of the hotel even further.

• Babette (5/5): The hotel's location was good and the public bath was pleasant - The location was good; if the weather was more cooperative, one was able to walk to restaurants and other services. The staff was friendly and helpful. Apparently, there was a transition of the HVAC system. We were not able to use the cooling function in the room to our satisfaction. No one informed us about this situation prior to our arrival; I believe that this omission is unprofessional and unacceptable.

• Jasmine (10/5): Worth every penny for every convenience that is offered - Amazed by the staff service that was absolutely on top of it. When my flight cancelled and I needed an early check out, they made the necessary changes in the reservation right away and coordinated with the airport on my new flight time so they can schedule a ride to the airport for me. When I needed to rent a car, the man at the front desk made a reservation for me at the car rental place that wasn't accessible online. And also when they noticed I wasn't eating any of their dinners, they correctly guessed it was probably because I didn't like traditional Japanese food and went out of their way to order something more palatable to my western tastes LOL. The traditional room was very nice and clean with a beautiful view of the mountainside. It was always clean and freshly made with new clothes. I can tell that this is an older hotel but it's extremely well maintained as I could not find even a speck of dust or caulking with mold inside the hotel room and bathroom. And the onsen was convenient too. When I sprained my ankle on my hikes, the cold baths helped alleviate the pain and swelling. I also usually hate buffets, but the breakfast buffet is really delicious with high quality food and ingredients.. and a beautiful view of the ocean every morning. The fact they have a gift shop, rental hiking equipment, and premade lunchboxes was convenient for planning your hikes as well. Overall, Yakushima is a place that requires meticulous planning and also improvisation due to it's unpredictable weather. So to stay at a place that has most of those conveniences at hand made this trip more manageable. I'm so glad I chose The Hotel Yakushima. This is not at all a flaw on the hotel but only a couple people could speak English and they were on shift periodically. Learning a bit of Japanese to help communicate with the staff would be extremely helpful for both you and them!

• Henrik (10/5): Beautiful Island - Vi gillade att personalen var hjälpsam och välorganiserad. Läget vid havet var magisk (vi hade ocean view). Vi hade halvpension med mycket bra och god frukost och en fantastisk kvällsmat. Vi kan rekommendera detta!

• Sylvie (10/5): Hôtel très agréable, vue magnifique sur la mer, repas excellents - Nous avons logé dans des chambres modernes et design. Ces chambres sont très confortables avec une vue imprenable sur la mer. Le personnel est serviable et répond aux e-mails immédiatement (ils nous ont organisé à l'avance la location de voiture sur place de manière parfaite). Le repas japonais du soir est excellent et ils sont prêts à faire des adaptations à condition de les prévenir la veille. Le petit déjeuner buffet allie cuisine japonaise et occidentale selon les goûts.
• Tokiko (1/5): リピートはない - 部屋でのエアコン調整不可との事で、風呂上がりなどはとても暑く大変不快でした。
