Guest Reviews

- Godlove (10/5): - Very nice place. Clean and Beautiful. Great location. I enjoy all my time there. I think food and drinks are overpriced. Curtains and mosquito net should be changed. Otherwise it was great to stay there. I will stay again when I go back to Nairobi.
- Guest (8/5): Overall good experiences, thanks. - Central location so you can get to other places easily. Price increase during the year!
- KONSTANTINOS (5/5): . - Not bread
not honey, marmalade Hot water mixer at the shower very difficult to adjust.
Not shower telephone.
Washing basin without hot water.
In my 7 days stay was charged 6.500 kes daily.
Not air-conditioning.
Very poor lighting at the room.
Asked to pre pay daily,by visa card or cash.

- Estelle (8/5): Otherwise the place appeared clean and quiet - Staff appeared cheerful and welcoming and explained the necessary information. The staff was interrupted while attending me a few times.
The water was too hot and not able to control it.
You should provide glasses for drinking into the room.
- Alison (8/5): Very good -

- Ollengo (8/5): Very good -
- Mulamata (10/5): Exceptional - gOOD
- Dr (6/5): Overall; good as it is in a peaceful location and welcoming staff - No breakfast arrangement.
Friendly staff The cable for cofffe boiler is too short and cannot be used for intended purpose. Please add extension cable.
The lamp at the mirror in the wash room is not working. Please check and replace
The sit at the toilet is not fixed. Please do fix.
Price was much higher than initial booking.com rates ($60 raised to 84....no rationale to change even if the dates of reservation change when the client is same)
- Eddah (7/5): Good -
- GRAEME (8/5): - In general the stay was comfortable and convenient.
The wi-fi / internet was consistently poor throughout the stay, with frequent distortions and interruptions in communication.
Most disappointing was the theft of money from the room, and the Hotel's seeming unwillingness to follow up on the reported theft. Guests are strongly advised to lock all money and valueables in the safe provided in the room.
- 446kirkt (2/5): NO RESPECT FOR SLEEP - The staff made so much loud noise in the sweetest part of my sleeping. Loud bangs and voices from 3 am to now 6:20 am. I am so angry I could fight 😠. This has been a very uncomfortable night. I feel totally disrespected. I don't recommend this place to anyone.
- osman (6/5): - Ok but rooms are very small
- ryanc3 (8/5): Good location - stayed here for 2 weeks in november, room 202,which was changed by the cleaner from 205,the location was close to shops and restaurants ,the hotel was quiet due to the pandemic, but all in all it was a good stay and special praise to faith ,who attended to all our needs, and was very good at her job, nothing was a problem to her.
would recommend to anybody
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The hotel was shown in Exedia as having an air-conditioning system which is not true. Breakfast was very basic.
- James (2/5): - From the beginning to the end, it was a bad experience in dealing with Red Ruby, and I would never recommend any travelers to visit the website or stay with your hotel.
- OldTownDave (6/5): Ok for 1 Night - We rented 2 rooms here on a recent Sunday night. Rooms are small and unremarkable. Bed was comfortable and had mosquito netting. Breakfast was included but was excessively mediocre, which surprised us because dinner was pretty good. Staff at front desk was VERY helpful, answering questions and helping us store our 8 bags in a closet during the day. We were charged $65 per room, but it appears that rooms are cheaper if booked through hotels.com or some other 3rd party website.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good, central location. Clean rooms in good condition.
- LakePanorama (8/5): A Nice Place in Central Nairobi - Found the Red Ruby Hotel on line and booked it for a night. Staff was very friendly, room was adequate, bed comfortable, and breakfast was pretty good (but not fabulous). Since the price was reasonable (6,000 ksh or $60 U.S. per night), I would consider staying there next time in Nairobi.
- johncthp (4/5): Cheap, nice location, poorly managed - This is an odd little hotel - nice location and staff and furnishings - very inexpensive, but not very well organized. My small room (008) had no external windows, which I find really oppressive, The bed was comfortable, the small desk provided a teapot, but with no power plug within reach. There is a restaurant with a very minimal selection - the breakfast buffet in particular was pretty disappointing - and a bar that ran out of wine and - instead of letting me know - just didn't bother to bring any. When I go back I'll probably go around the corner to Golden Tulip for just a bit more money.
- zuzza86 (4/5): Too expensive for basic service - We chose this hotel due to the strategic position in Nairobi and unfortunately we had to spend almost 10 days over there. The staff was not prompt and coped with our issues inefficiently. We had agreed on phone about our early arrival and despite this agreement, we didn't find the room ready as promised. Moreover, the different room we were assigned for the first night (implying a new move the day after) had a used dirty toilet + bathroom that needed cleaning. The day after, we got a new room on the ground floor with windows facing a walking path (consistent prying eyes of the watchmen) or a bathroom window opening into the waiting corridors / lounge of the hotel. This forced us to keep our windows constantly closed during our stay. The service was really basic, with the staff forgetting simple requirements (e.g. we requested a take away breakfast which promised but was never made) or not following the exact time schedule (we had to rush in the morning and the breakfast was not ready yet by the stated 6.00 am opening time).
The only positive feature was the location because of close proximity to the CBD.
- Uday3027 (10/5): Stay at Red Ruby - I stayed hete in Nov 2016. The room was booked by my Rep at Nairobi
it is at Parklands and has a cozy room. But the minus point the room is rather small. There is no Aircon or fan in the room. Though Nairobi does ot need Aircon, air circulation is required for proper venilation
The breakfast spread is good, though ot does not offer much choice for indian dishes
The tariff is quite econimical
- GilbertU303 (8/5): My second stay at RedRuby Hotel - A nice, clean and beautiful hotel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the City at Parklands. The rooms are spacious and with cool colors and amenities. Very courteous staff and good food. Lacking room safe though. Good place to stay when in Nairobi.
- mwas2 (6/5): Great not so much utilized - Its a beautiful place but food can really stay for long after you order. Its location is convenient and near Nairobi town with access to transport easily. Its interiors are beautiful and cool. The hotel is good for business travelers.
