• Yasin (3/5): Friendly staff, but poor cleanliness, bad odors, and broken facilities. - The staff were friendly and polite. There was a very unpleasant smell in the room, and it did not feel clean. There were spiders in the room, and both the bathroom and toilet were in very poor condition. The room lighting and air conditioning were also very poor and barely working.

• Annie (7/5): Good - The staff at this hotel are lovely anf it is a great location. Swimming did not have filters running so did not wish to use it, no sunbeds or chairs by pool. No kitchen, bar or vending machine so any food or drink needs to be purchased outside of the hotel. It is a little tired and not like the photos.
• Victoria (8/5): Great for a night in Galle. - Perfect place to stay when visiting Galle. 20 minute walk or 5 minute tuk tuk ride from fort. Pool is great to cool down after a day of walking in the heat. Rooms are fine, few damp patches, but perfectly comfortable. All fine.

• Antony (9/5): New Years Eve 2025 - The staff are very formal and polite, they are a huge asset to this hotel. The hotel is quaint, in an old fashioned style, which is very well maintained and extremely clean. There was no functioning kitchen at the time of our visit, but there are many tourist type cafes a short rickshaw ride away in the fort.

• Julia (8/5): If you don’t want to be in the busy fort area this is a good place to stay - We only stayed one night but used the pool multiple times. Walking distance to the wonderful Dutch Fort. On a hill overlooking the whole bay from the covered sundeck. Very helpful staff. They contacted me about glasses I had left there.
• Phil (7/5): Great staff, good location, comfortable property. - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and the pool was great to come back to after a day walking around the fort. It is really in need of a lot of work to bring it back to its glory days. As it appears to have only reopened post covid in Feb 2024 it has only had low season occupancy so I’m guessing funding any refurbishment is a long way off. That being said, we were comfortable enough staying for a couple of days and the staff were all really great. Might be a very different experience in the on season with restaurant and bar facilities open.

We booked the "deluxe family room" and it didn't match the description on booking.com. No balcony, no TV, no coffee maker and very limited sea view. And to be fair, the room is very basic and not very "deluxe". However, the management did their best to make up for the mistake/mis-info and we had a nice stay. The hotel seems quite tired and could really use a makeover. But for the price you pay for the room, it still really good value,

It was not particularly clean, the bedsheets, pillow cases and toilet all had stains. No fresh fruit was provided for breakfast (very unusual as this was provided everywhere else we stayed) until we asked for it…and then it was provided the next day.
• Martin (9/5): Very good middle-class hotel near the centre of Galle - Nice, helpful staff; well equipped, clean rooms, not too spacious, though; highlight: meals on roof terrace; quiet road in walking distance to both modern and historical centres We had booked the Super Deluxe apartment with two bedrooms and this was shown in the app. But the printed confirmation as well as the one for the hotel only showed one room, so we only had a standard three bed room at first. However, the manager gave us a second room immediately, after checking my app. We did not have the common living room of the apartment, but we were fine with this solution. So if you book the super deluxe, better have this confirmed separately.
