Guest Reviews
- Ross (10/5): - I highly recommend staying at The Sleep. The cleanliness is above and beyond what is expected for such an affordable price. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, quick to meet any requests or to suggest any nearby sights and/or activities. Phang-nga itself is incredible, with many sights to see, and best of all, without the crowds! I thought I’d only stay 2 nights, but ended up staying a full week and still did not manage to get around to see everything.
The hotel is within walking distance to a night market, and a 7/11, and a bank, and a laundromat, so quite literally a one stop shop for everything you need whether you’re simply passing through, or spending some time here.
They also offer motorbike rental which is highly convenient for getting to the breathtaking views that lie just beyond walking distance. BEST SLEEP IF MY LIFE. comfortable mattress and clean working aircon. Trust me, stay here, you will not be disappointed!
- Ella (10/5): - Very lovely staff and accommodation. Our room had a slight ant infestation but other than that was lovely.
- Joy (8/5): - Sehr neues eingerichtetes Zimmer. AC funktioniert sehr gut. Kleiner Balkon.
- Orhan (10/5): thank you 😊 - very good value for money
- Thapprakorn (2/5): - ไม่มีที่จอดรถยนต์ ต้องจอดริมถนนและหาเอาเอง
- Adam (10/5): Friendly little hotel - The ladies at the front desk were beyond mice and extremely helpful with everything. Our room was nice and clean and AC worked great. A lot of street food very close by which wqs all amazing.
Only down side was the Cable TV didnt work (not a big deal, but worth noting) and also there are no taxis or grabs available in that area at all so you're kind of stuck.
Overall for the price and the service I would highly recommend if you'te in the area.
- JEAN PHILIPPE (10/5): - Petit hotel simple , personnel tres sympathique. Bon petit déjeuner. Magasin big C à 5mn à pieds
- bwnm (8/5): Good option for a short stay in Phang-nga - The Sleep Phang-nga is located along the main road through Phang-nga. The hotel does not have its own parking lot. Street parking wasn't too difficult to find when we arrived in the evening, but I expect it might be more problematic during the day. The staff had very limited English communication capability - it was sufficient for check-in, but not really feasible to obtain recommendations for dining options (which were quite limited after 8pm), for example.
The room was very basic, but clean, and overall good value considering the very low price. We did not experience any significant noise disturbances. Remarkably, despite the price, quite a nice jok (Thai congee) breakfast was included in the room rate.
Overall, The Sleep is a good option for a short stay in Phang-nga, particularly considering the price and the absence of a large range of other options.
- Camdu1 (8/5): Good short stay - Dropped off in town and looked at a couple of aging guesthouses before finding the Sleep. Paid 500 bt for a double room on the 3rd floor. It was compact but clean and quiet AC. The bathroom is tiny but plenty of hot water.
The staff didn't speak much English but they were friendly and helpful. Help yourself to coffee and sit outside at the small terrace. Excellent day market and night food market is 5 mins walk.
Like other reviews I did the boat trip with MT tours see Mr. Hassim down the street. An enjoyable way to see the amazing karsts and the Phangnga bay national Park.
Recommended for a stopover.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Overall stay was great and clean! Staff were super helpful and helped us with everything!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room nice and clean. Good location as well. And staff was very friendly
- stevewooly2017 (10/5): good location - stayed one night en route to home ,friendly staff good clean rooms , a bit small but good for the price ,will stay again sometime. great spot to travel to waterfalls caves etc. a few restaurants nearby for dinner and breakfast at thai prices
- Rauf (8/5): The Sleep - Phang Nga - Wonderful little hotel, managed by Koi, who was really excellent. Arranged a day trip for us, and gave a lot of tips about eating places etc.
For breakfast they were willing to change to give us what we wanted.
- ryansX4297PW (8/5): Stayed 2 Nights for Bay Tour - We stayed two nights at The Sleep. For the price, I think it's a great deal. The rooms were clean, a little small, but great price. There is an evening market everyday 5 minute walk away. We ate the street for there each night for dinner (also some vendors for breakfast). The food was great and delicious. Overall the city of Phang Nga don't have many English speakers but there's a 7/11 close and the market (they have pricing written out for a lot of things). We also used MT tour for our Phang Nga Bay tour after grabbing a brochure at check in. This tour was the highlight of our 2 month SE Asia trip. MT tour office is right up the road and we booked the tour for the next day and had an amazing private (without paying private price, paid 1100 baht) for a full day amazing tour. Thankful that The Sleep had the brochure. The city is definitely a quick stop over but we really enjoyed it. Not much to do, but and worth it! Better than paying Phuket prices for hotels and more expensive tours with 50+ people and having to drive for the Phang Nga tour.
- Christodp (6/5): Not really tourist friendly - We stayed here for one night. Would not recommend to stay longer than one night. Rooms are very small and clean except for the ant problem we had in our room. If you struggle with any back pain etc. I would not book here because the beds are extremely hard. Our lower backs were very sore the next morning. With our booking breakfast was already included but on arrival it was announced that we had to pay extra??!! Well we would rather not recommend the breakfast buy a 7eleven toasted sandwich instead. Staff is not very helpful with the lugguage or to tell you where to go or what to do and it was very difficult to communicate in English it is almost non existing. They had scooters that you can rent for cheap but make sure that the tank is full before you take it. We slipped up on that and nearly got stuck on the highway without any gasoline because they gave us none to start with. Definitely not for tourists more for the local people.
- Nummy2 (8/5): Good short stay in Phang Nga - We needed a place for 2 nights stay in Phang Nga as we wanted to visit the Phang Nga bay directly from a tour in Phang Nga. The Sleep did the job perfectly ! It is a very modern and well maintained (probably new actually) hotel right in the heart of the Phang Nga city. There used to be the bus station right in front of the hotel, but it seems like most of the bus now depart from bus station outside the city, and you will have to take a taxi from the old bus station to the new one if you plan to take a bus to leave.
Right in front of the hotel, at the old bus station, is the office of Sayan Tours and Mr Kean, which both operate tours in the Phang Nga Bay. We went with Sayan Tours as I read good reviews online and we enjoyed the full day tour. You can also ask the hotel to arrange the tour for you, and I think they work with a third operator.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it was good value for money.
Only problem was that the hotel is located just next to the mosque, so we were woken up at 5AM by the prayer, and also there was a rooster singing from 6AM to 8AM so it is difficult to sleep in the morning. Maybe, you should ask a room which does not have a balcony like us, as most probably, you will get less annoyed by the noise.
- Marines66 (6/5): Good hotel for a short stay - The Sleep is a correct hotel in Phang Nga. The choice is quite limited in this city since most of the people do not stay in the city but just come from surroundings area for the National Park.
It is a good value for the money. The room are simple, clean. It is a modern small family hotel . Being on the street side might be too noisy for you so pick a room at the back of the hotel.
In conclusion: good hotel for a one short night stay before taking a tour to the Phang Nga park (you can be then one of the first group to leave the pier and see the James Bond Islands early, with no crowd around you). Would not stay moe than one or 2 days.
The hotel helped us in organizing our tour to the park; Would suggest to take 1/2 day instead of full day since long boat drive and no real other activity (no snorkling in this area for example)
- Andy (8/5): Excellent value clean small room - The rooms were small but modern, clean and comfortable with good aircon. The initial welcome seemed a little abrupt, but very friendly after that, I think a little rushed at the time. Would probably wish to stay here for an extdnded period because of the room size, but an overnight stop was perfect and excellent value!
- printer (8/5): เรียบง่าย สะดวกสบาย - ภาพรวมดีครับ สำหรับพักชั่วคราว ติดถนน เดินทางสะดวก
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Hotel - This is a great hotel for the price. Extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. Booked this hotel for one night and then extended our stay. Would definitely stay here again.
- Aphroux (10/5): The cool place. - We have been in several hotels in Thailand, and I have to admit this is the best hotel we have stayed so far.
The value for money is great. The decor and setting of the hotel is very clever and creative. Lots of privacy for the guests. Have lots of parking space in front of the hotel. Staff were extremely polite and friendly. It's a total thumbs up, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE TRAVELING ON BUDGET OR BUSINESS.
- JoaoG4 (8/5): Overnight stay - Comfortable sleep. Clean, modern and very affordable.Room has aircon. Close to local mall with movie house.Beautiful mountains surrounding this small town. Recommend for a short stay, not much to do here. Buy some cheap clothing at the Japanese market.
