Guest Reviews
- Diriki (5/5): - The value and location. It was dirty, things falling apart, door didn't lock.
The bathroom had mold and rust in it, on the ceiling and on fixtures.
In one room, you literally could not breathe in it.
It was that moldy and stuffy in there.

- Diriki (3/5): - The price!
The staff is good. The rooms need to be updated. The ceiling had mold on it, and the bathroom looked dirty. The beds were uncomfortable.
The room doors are dirty, need to be cleaned.
The fixtures are rusted. Baseboards are coming off.
They gotta put some TLC in the rooms

- Irby (5/5): - I never got my money back for not smoking or doing anything in the room how will I get that money back please
- Javier (1/5): El personal de frontdeak muy despota y grosero - El lugar muy sucio y descuidado El cuarto pésimo las sábanas sucias llenas de pelo
- Stacy (6/5): Smells like cigarettes - Convenient to my work. This says its smoke free but the lingering smell of cigarettes is still around. It was very strong, in my clothes and my hair. I had a headache all night then all day at work. The smell was in the hallways so I didn't bother asking to move rooms. If you are asthmatic or sensitive to cigarette smoke please be warned.
- Pamela (1/5): Horrible. - Nothing. Nothing very dirty roaches in room and large rat traps throughout the hotel. Other tenants were knocking on my door looking for drugs and cigarettes. I was out of place. This is not a place to take your children. Bad experience will ever stay here again nor would I recommend this to anyone else.

- Dennis (10/5): - Decided to take a little staycation with my wife. It worked out well.
- Dorothy (4/5): - It was supposed to be a “no smoking” property and it smelt terrible!! We stayed one night but when we left we felt DIRTY! The bedding smelled of smoke also. The room smelled musty!! Terrible! Will NEVER recommend or stay again!!!
- barrib217 (2/5): The worst and shadiest place I have stayed at. - My boyfriend and I were helping out a friend of ours with his elderly father so he helped us by getting us a place to stay since we were in the middle of finding a place. They put us in the Econolodge side and when I first walked in at that end it smelled of weed which didn't bother me but it was going on at all hours of the night. There were definitely drug deals going on there and the management could care less. Also housekeeping never came to see if we needed our room cleaned, it was if they were afraid to come down to that end. Plus when my boyfriend took our dog out to potty and a walk he came across some syringes near a shack and that's when he said we need to get the heck out of this place. When I told the lady that there were shady things going on she became defensive and told me I was lying. Luckily our friend put us in at Quality Inn in Spring Mills and it was a huge difference. This place needs to be shut down. My friend should have his points reimbursed and I should have our pet fee reimbursed since I didn't realized my boyfriend had gotten our dog registered as a ESP dog.
- Jaidyn (5/5): Passable - The room was literally falling apart. The baseboards were falling off the walls, my bed linens were not very clean and had cigarette burns all over them. The bedside table had a drawer that was completely broken off of the table itself and just sat inside of where the drawer should have been.
As soon as we walked into the room I was hit in the face with a very weird and almost bitter smell that eventually went away or maybe I just got used to it.
Once morning came, I went to get my breakfast and started to walk back to my room when the man at the front desk told me I needed to stay there to eat. I’ve been in some sketch hotels/motels and never once was I told that I couldn’t eat my breakfast inside the room I paid for.
When my partner went outside to smoke a cigarette before they went to bed, the man took it upon himself to walk all the way through the hotel and outside just to try and kick them off the property because he didn’t believe that they had a room there.
Once check out time came around, I went down to the desk to return the keys and get my $50 deposit back. I smiled at the man and asked him how he was doing this morning and he just simply stared at me as if I just said a bunch of gibberish. Luckily, after reading all of the ratings and complaints about not getting their deposit back, he walked into a door behind the desk and grabbed the cash I had given to the lady the morning before. I was actually surprised. Also surprised because how did they know that I hadn’t just destroyed the room since they didn’t go check the room before giving me the money back. That being said, if I see any other charges on my card from them other than the money I paid when I booked the room, I will know that they scam people by making sure there’s broken things left inside the room so that once the guest leaves, they can blame it on them and charge them for it. But I’ll cross my fingers and hope that won’t happen.
- Harold (4/5): - When we opened the door to our room there was an other couple naked in the bed. They screamed at us to get out. The manager gave us the next room. The couple in the first room kept us up most of the night with what seemed to be a party. On top of all this the manager changed us $10 more for what he called “a room upgrade”. We were extremely tired from driving more than 8 hours. Just a total disaster for us
- 960mackenziew (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! RUN! RUN! RUN! - I wouldn’t even give this place a 1 star if I could!! DO NOT STAY HERE! Hotel smells disgusting! Bed had dirty sheets that previous guest slept in. It was obvious! Bug on one of the pillows. Sketchy people doing sketchy things. Light/fan in bathroom made an awful loud noise. The bathroom was horrible! Feels dirty and disgusting. Had to go up steps to 2nd floor with my 85 year old grandmother. No elevator. The list goes on and on. RUN! RUN! RUN!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not stay here - Got kicked off the property while waiting for booking. Then they refused to refund the money. Go elsewhere
- Jonathan (1/5): Bad -
- Mark (4/5): - Booking through Expedia got us put in the worst wing of this property where the rooms reek of cigarettes and weed even though it’s a non-smoking facility. We declined that room and were “upgraded” to another room up the hallway. That room’s TV didn’t work and the bathroom was flooded when we walked in. The host then “upgraded” us to another room that sufficed. Paid $10 for a box of detergent and one wash/dry. Dryer never did dry clothes and had to have housekeeping finish drying our clothes the next morning. Overall, these hotels, which seem to be bought up foreigners, are predominantly rude to guests and really only care about money and not caring about customers.
- Ricky (2/5): Very poor - The area The staff
- Laura (8/5): Don’t waste your $$ - Hotel in terrible condition and location was sketchy. One bath towel in bathroom and king size bed had three tiny pillows. Would not stay at this hotel again and really didn’t want to stay that night but we had already paid and were traveling. Description said it was right off 81 but you had to drive several miles through city to get to hotel. That usually wouldn’t have been a problem but we were towing a trailer and would have liked something closer to the highway.
- Elizabeth (2/5): - Shy the manager was very nice!
- Valued (2/5): Horrible experience - The room looks ok but it was nasty odor to smoke I told the front desk about it and she just say I can’t give you refund or offer me another room
- kathbmcclure (2/5): THE WORST place you could possibly stay. - I'm writing a review for this site b/c I don't know how people wrote any good reviews. Perhaps they are for the quality inn side, which is maybe better? Mybe a different econo lodge? The Hagerstown econo lodge is the grossest, dirtiest, scariest place I've ever stayed. The entire place stinks of weed and ...maybe meth?- as in you need a mask to stay here. I did not wash my face because did not want to use the towel provided. People hanging out at front and back entrances with rat traps everywhere. Didn't touch anything I didn't have to in the place. Really unsafe. Cameras everywhere but front desk isn't manned- call someone from a phone on wall to come to desk- and 75' screen of hallway video images greets you. Seriously, stay anywhere but here- just sleep in your car on the side of the road if you have to.
- Rivera (7/5): Good -
- Morrow (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (1/5): Bad -
- Lee (4/5): Wasn't impressed and don't suggest - The only good thing was the bed. When we woke up the next morning the door or directly across from us had a condemn notice posted on the door. There was a bad odor in the room, burn holes in the toilet seat and wall from cigarettes and the kickboard molding was peeled away from the wall. Apparently they own two hotels and try to upsell us on the one in the front. Wasn't impressed. Don't suggest.
- Ricky (5/5): Passable -
- Chrissy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chrissy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angel (1/5): I will never stay at an Econolodge again. - Nothing there wasn’t a single enjoyable thing i checked out immediately because i didn’t feel safe staying there. The room was filthy the sheets had cigarette burns in them, and the entire building smelt like smoke. Our hotel was all the way around the back so you cant see how crappy it is. It is not like the pictures.
- Brandon (2/5): - Literally worse hotel I've been in. Walked by 3 rooms that were condemed! Sign said stay out,
dangerous conditions. Horrible smell in the room. Listed as 2 queens, it was 2 doubles. Druggie in the parking lot checking car doors trying to find one unlocked.
- Gregory L (10/5): Was not Impressed with comfort inn. - Found very easy . Check in was very easy . Room was on second floor . No elevator.
- John (8/5): Always a good choice! - Several of us have stayed here along our route. Always reliable and good!
- Davis (3/5): Never again - Did not really enjoy it. It was close to highway
- Johnny (3/5): It was good - It’s was ok Bathroom wasn’t clean
- Christy (1/5): Will never stay here again - The door kept slamming all day/night long. The one that allows people to come in & out of the hotel. It was so annoying. Kept me up. Kept waking me up.
- tammy (6/5): - The toilet was an issue. It didn't want to shut off. The shower didn't drain and the outlet in the bathroom didn't work.
- Jolanta (9/5): Great - Comfortable bed, clean, close to my work. Great service, Smell smoking
- Verified traveler (4/5): Our stay - When we go to the room first thing is check bathroom make sure it's clean and water is hot, but this time I had to kill a roach and a spider, now we move on to check beds sheets on one not clean both top and bottom, breakfast free but you better get there first before the locals, ran out of sausage and eggs syrup appears to be water down
- Roberto (10/5): - Good service at the desk. Loud people wall ng in hallways
- Arturo (1/5): Bad -
- William (7/5): Good -
- Erica (2/5): Strong smells and pot smell - Frirndly Very dirty and unkept rooms
- cynthia (2/5): Disgusting! - DIRTY, beer cans EVERYWHERE, broken windows, condemned rooms. I literally cannot make this up. Absolutely terrible! I wouldn’t even stay at that hotel and ended up getting another one instead!
- William (9/5): Superb - Good Linen change
- Charles (4/5): Renovation meets condemn? - It looks like two well known hotels clashes with renovation and condemnation
- RD (2/5): - I reserved a room and when I arrived from NYC , 4 hrs driving with my wife and my 2 kids , one 5 years old special child and my 5 months old little girl, the receptionist told me that I have to call expedia and cancel because they didnt have hot water and the plumber would come monday, I went outside to talk to my wife who was still in the car and got very upset. We decided to stay without hot water because we were very tired, but the clerk refused saying that if we call expedia she got to give me the money back, when I tried to call expedia, she said I could stay in the hotel but if I pay $30 extra, because the hotel had 2 buildings and the side I reserved had not hot water, but this side had, I went to check and it wasnt true, she was jus trying to rip me off and should be reported to consumer affairs, she is a crook
- James (5/5): Passable -
- Scott (4/5): - Lots of smoking in a non smoking hotel and at least 5 of the rooms were condemned by the local health department for some reason.
- Nicole (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jessica (2/5): - We were surrounded by condemned rooms, there were cigarette burns in our sheets. Our towels were dirty, and the fitted kept coming off because it was really small. Smelled like musty cigarettes and air freshener.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (1/5): Bad - Nothing!!! Bullet hole through the window room 174, mold in the bathroom, crackheads everywhere, TV was super small.
- christinebM2395UG (2/5): Do not stay here!!! - This hotel is a prime example of a hotel misrepresentation on the internet/Choice Privilege website. We were moving our daughter from Massachusetts back to NC. Not familiar with Hagerstown, Md. we needed a hotel that would let me use my points for one room and we pay for the other. I don’t have a lot of points so we booked this hotel. Looked very nice online. It was in a very questionable part of Hagerstown. The hotel was half Econo Lodge half quality Inn. The night auditor was very nice, but I couldn’t figure out why he kept telling me I didn’t want to stay on the Econo side. He gave us our keys to two rooms on the Econo side. My daughter, who is in her 20’s walked up, the night auditor’s expression changed to a look of concern and asked for the keys back, said he was putting us on the Quality Inn side. My concern for our safety grew. We never left the lobby, I immediately checked us out. Lost points and money. As we were leaving we drove around to the Econo side, little to no lighting in the parking lot, very few lights on in the hotel. Mattresses leaned up against the wall outside. I really feel there was questionable activity going on there. Not a safe environment at all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Rested travelers - This motel was in the process of upgrading and improving. The room we stayed in had been upgraded. The staff was super nice, friendly, and helpful. The continental breakfast was average but quite acceptable. We would definitely stay again.
- Derek (2/5): - The 1st room the tv didn't work. 2nd room had a whole in the wall. The 3rd was alot better.
- Trisha (1/5): Bad - The rooms for Econo Lodge were dirty and disgusting. We stayed on the Quality Inn side.
- Kevin (1/5): It sucked - Getting the Hell out of the hotel. The place was dirty Staff was terrible some of the rooms had condemned signs on the doors. I will not be staying in any more econo lodges
- Elizabeth (1/5): It was uncleanliness and roach infestation - Nothing It was roach infested
- Nadia (4/5): Disappointing - It was centrally located near everything which was a positive We never got housekeeping services any of the time we were there, the bathroom door was broken wouldn't close. It looked like someone had tried to shoot something through the window
- Ron (4/5): - We checked in drove around the building and left. Did not feel safe
- William (10/5): Good staff - Breakfast was great, need to think about having hot cereal oatmeal or grits Homeless people hanging out at rear door
- miguelmO7180BL (10/5): Bang for your buck. - I recently stayed at EconoLodge and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. Despite being a budget-friendly option, the room was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The value for money was excellent, and the friendly staff added to the positive experience.
- Brian (4/5): - We had homeless people meet us at the back entrance offering to help us get into the motel. We had multiple rooms on our floor that were sealed with a sign stating that they were condemned and not acceptable for people to stay in. Our room was below average.
The person working the front desk when we arrived was also the person working the front desk when we left the next morning. He was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really quite good.
- John (1/5): Disgusting, filthy, it was not welcoming or accommodating! - The location of the hotel was about it.. breakfast was just Ehh… Everything - I’d love to share photos from our stay, we took over 20 photos of defect, disgusting services & amenities. From the beds, the bathroom, walls, floor, furniture, lights, shower, entrance door broken, hair in cooked food, etc..
- Cole (1/5): Bad - Filthy everything, condemned rooms, blood and cigarette burn holes on ALL of the linens on BOTH beds.
- Juanita (1/5): Bad - Disgusting aaa scared to even sleep on the bed bc across the hall had a condemned sign
- Roger (1/5): $182.00 for just 2 nights for ROACHES, MOLD, NO TOILET PAPER, NO SOAP, UNCOMFORTABLE BEDS. - The location was not bad. There were roaches in the room.
The bathroom ceiling was full of mold.
There was NO toilet paper in the bathroom or anywhere in the room.
There was no soap in the bathroom.
The beds were uncomfortable.
There was no phone in the room to call office; I used my cell phone to call office and told them there was no toilet paper or soap in the bathroom, I was told to come to the office and get some. (The office was on the complete opposite side of the complex.)
- Steven (2/5): - Don't book here. Spend the little extra to stay literally anywhere else. This place was absolutely disgusting. A smoke detector was going off in a room next to us, they refused to fix it. No refund offered because we booked "with a third party". Offered to let us "upgrade" to the quality inn section, and still wanted to charge full price for that as well as the disgusting, roach infested room. Don't go here. Management was completely inept. Probably could have a group of pencil sharpeners do a better job running this place. I stated all issues pictured (mold, bugs roaches disgusting furniture, etc.), and was given, "Yes. We know about these issues." A few rooms were labeled condemned, so the fact that they're still booking these rooms out is absolutely horrendous. I'd recommend that hotel close it's doors, and Expedia NEVER ALLOW ANYONE to book a room here.
- Anastasios (3/5): Poor - Smells of smoke. Cigarette burns on blankets.
- Adam (1/5): Terrible - It was the grossest hotel room I have ever been in. Everything. Stains, smells, handke in shower fell off. Etc.
- Dwayne (3/5): Poor -
- Anonymous (1/5): disgusting - I feel as bad as this place was I arrived at 12:30pm didn’t stay longer than 6am. Many reasons as to why but ones most important is they have cockroaches & condemned rooms throughout the building. I have proof of it all. I was very displeased with my stay I couldn’t risk eating the breakfast after waking up to bugs on the floor an bites on my girlfriend. They watch you on their cameras very uncomfortable we caught the front desk guy in action watching us not realizing we were at the desk already! Uhm I want my money back ! Nothing !

not to mention broke vending machines
and the smell through out the building was so bad once I checked in the guy went around spraying fabuloso as we walked through! I need a refund !
- Edward (1/5): This establishment needs tons of help - Leaving Going against my first instincts
- Rashad (1/5): a total waste of money. - nothing the room looked abandoned. it smelled bad the remote didn’t work. not of the appliances were hooked up
- Ann (9/5): It was good but we stayed in the QI not Econo - It was a bagged breakfast They did not have a waffle maker. The rooms were inside a building, and I was not able to view my vehicle in the parking lot.
- Jeff (2/5): - Motel was connected to another motel rates were different. Pet s were additional charge. People up all night one motel had broken windows so switched to other motel for additional fee.
- Thomas (1/5): Bad - Worst hotel I've ever stay
- Rebecca (1/5): Please read.. - Nothing I didn't like how the rooms were not even clean bed sheets were dirty also went in and they found out I was inspectress at another hotel they wanted me to go remove other people from the room if they were not there to work off money off of my room and then I do that then they also wanted me to fix the toilet the room that I was staying in so we fixed the toilet and she said once we fix the toilet she'll give us another night to stay so the next day comes we go and tell her tall is fixed and everything and she tells me that she's never said nothing to me about it which is wrong they're there to use you and it's very nasty and they do have roaches roaches usually only come out at night I was up that morning for a minute I was in the bathroom and noticed two baby roaches crawling across the floor I immediately said I am not staying here this place is not taken care of at all and not clean correctly.
- Samantha (1/5): NEVER AGAIN! - Nothing NEVER AGAIN! As soon as I walked into check in building smelled of cigarettes, got to my room 165 and I had to shove the door open and as soon as I turned on the light there was cockroches EVERYWHERE. I made my kids go straight back to the car and I tried to shut the door and the door wouldn't even shut. I went to front desk and asked for a full refund and explained why, he kept trying to offer me a new room and I refused. The place is disgusting and smells horrible, plus very sketchy people outside. Definitely DO NOT recommend at all!!
