Restaurant/bar closes to early for travelers arriving later in the evening. they should stay open until at least 11 to accommodate those of us that can't make it there early.
Belletire (4/5): Poor and aging facility too close to insterstate. - Ok. Server good. Shower facet would barely budge. Pets allowed startled my wife and owner blamed her for startling her big dogs. If we knew they allowed pets would not have booked there. No coffee pods for in room for use. Bathroom old and tired. Did not get top floor room as requested. Thin and rough towels. No shower cap in room. Will not go back ever.
Thomas (10/5): Hilton Garden Inn and Spa is our first choice of hotels when we travel within the US. - It was a spotless facility both inside and out, with very friendly staff. The location was excellent - right off the main highway with restaurants very nearby.

Dale (10/5): Salinas best overnite stay. - Loved the design of the room. The work bar was great. Plenty of outlets and phones, hearing aids plug-ins for charging. A great setup for multiple computer users. The walkin shower works, but a seat in the shower would be so useful to us elderly, but do not require handicap facilities. We don't want to take a handicap unit, because generally speaking, there are only a few available. BTW, the hot tub, after 8 hrs of driving, was great at the HGI. The higher cost of this place was worth it, as we spent the nite a week earlier in a cheap hotel in a military town for $100, but the room stunk, the carpet was so dirty. Yes, when my wife got into the shower, the water turned black under her feet. I should have known when I walked thru the entryway of this "cheap hotel" no name will I mention, but the quality of the air in the entryway was enhanced by two water fountains that had a lot of chemicals that seemed to sear my smelling ability. After paying for the room, I was told they did not have a KING SIZE BED on the first floor, but he could give me two queens for the same price. Lol Obviously, I had not been in this room, and had no idea how bad the room we would walk into, would stink so bad. BTW, the stool was not upgraded in their last remodel, and us seniors have a hard time getting up off these kiddie stools, especially with no handicap bar to pull on. OK, lesson learned. Mental note, do not stay in old, poorly remodeled, Old, OLD, hotels. A loose floor tile in the unit we stayed in. I was in construction, and I know there is a hump in the flooring that has caused the tile to raise up, breaking the grout that will not hold it down. Was disappointed that the cold breakfast was almost $9. We ended up going to IHOP, thinking their low cost breakfast would be cheaper. When I got their bill, I regretted not eating the $13 breakfast buffet at the HILTON GARDEN INN.

The other party with us that we had reserved the second room for went ahead and paid for another room. The evening I went back to the front desk and showed them our original reservation again. He agreed he had made an error but that they couldnt refund us for the extra room they charged us for. We were told to call Hotels.com. No resolution to this yet.

Yet the staff made this couple feel important and even was able to switch our room with one with a tub. Thank you so much!! I didn’t like the scratchy stiff sheets.
lisaaX5279YQ (8/5): Bring your own Tissues! - Just stayed at this hotel for a quick overnight while traveling with my husband & small dog x-country. Overall, stay was decent- the whole hotel looks relatively new, pool, fitness ctr, bar/restaurant. Pet fee $50. Nice spacious rooms, fridge, coffee, etc. but no clock & NO Tissues! We called the front desk thinking the tissues was just an oversight & were informed rooms no longer are outfitted with tissues, but we could come to the front desk to get a box. WHAT??? Are you kidding me? We spent over $200 for room and you skimp on tissues? Not to mention $8-$14 for breakfast. We travel a lot do a x-country trek annually. We weren’t crazy abt the BW in Salina we had been staying at, so decided to try the Hiltons out this yr, but this is a tad too much when there are many other options available that include both tissues & breakfast for the same price. Sorry Hilton Garden Inn, we’ll continue to look.

Spiegs1968 (6/5): Clean, comfortable, bathroom less than ideal - This property looks great, it’s new, modern and very clean. Beds are comfortable, spacious inviting lobby- that said, two issue demoted this property to average, First, the shower was dismal. Very poor water pressure and average heat. Second, the sliding bathroom door concept really doesn’t work- there are huge gaps in closure meaning you can hear everything and there is no privacy, awkward even for families with kids older than toddler. Clerk at check-in was indifferent. No acknowledgement of HHonors status, just set the free waters on the counter. I will note that the check-out clerk was lovely. No reason not to stay here (except maybe the water pressure) but just can’t give it more than average.

wiskibabe (10/5): Above and beyond - A big shout out to the assistant manager or manager that was on shift Saturday July 5th. I am bad with names but I know it started with an S. She went above and beyond expectations! There was a mixup on the reservation that she resolved and also arranged for a ride to the airport the next morning! That driver was her! She did not have to do that and she wouldn’t take anything for her services! My husband and I truly appreciated it! Will definitely recommend this hotel anytime!!

Melissa (4/5): Disappointing - The hotel is "pet-friendly". The woman at the front desk assured us the rooms were cleaned very well between guests. We did not bring a pet and do not have a dog. We would never want a dog to be harmed or treated poorly but we do not care for dogs in a hotel room. The first room we were to occupy smelled very strongly of dogs which to us was very obnoxious and indicated that the room was not cleaned well. We went right away to the front desk where the attendant gave us a different room which did not reek of dogs. Being given a room that smelled strongly of dogs. Otherwise, the room was adequate but over-priced and kind of run down.

Charles (5/5): Passable - Hotel was nice. Breakfast food was good. How their system double charges for your stay and puts a hold on your money double. Then, when you try to address it by talking to a manager, the staff lie and say they will call you and even hang up on you multiple times. Then we came back another time and was treated like a dog by a breakfast waitress. We asked if we could get a table wiped and she soaked it then we asked if we could get something to dry it and she picked menus up off the wet table she sat them on and slapped them agaist her body meanly. Then, he said rudely, "Is that all you need and walked away without serving us at all. Then came back with a rude attitude again. Then we got served by a different lady, and our eggs was over cooked, french toast was raw, and the adventures of being treated like crap continued. Still no call from a manager again like the first time. Again, he asked to talk to a manager and lied they would call and never did. The staff doesn't have a manager call and manager if you get to talk to them, don't care. I have been to many hotels across the states, and this is not how a hilton should be. Motel 6 management has way higher care for their customers. I am very baffled by the experience. Not just once but twice

Elizabeth (2/5): - When I got to the property, I was told that they overbooked and I was sent to the Holiday Inn. That was nothing compared to what we were hoping to have pool down had to get a cot as the room only had one bed and had to take it up to our room. Our 16 year old had to sleep in a chair. I was traveling with my husband and two children. It definitely wasn’t the Hilton very disappointing. If I wanted to cheaper hotel, I could’ve got one, but my children wanted to at least be able to swim, which never happened.

The only reason we paid $150 for the night was to use the hot tub. Hot tub doesn’t work as it did when we called before booking. The phone in the pool room doesn’t work. The digital keys are very frustrating at this location. Not worth the price at all! Should’ve stayed somewhere else.

Gloria (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable and loved the location being at the edge of town on the south end. - We loved the style of the building, the atmosphere. The interior colors are calming and relaxing. We also loved Monique who checked us in. So friendly and professional. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was modern, clean and stylish. N/A
