Guest Reviews
- Colin (10/5): - Good Motel with really good down to Earth people looking after you A1 3 day stay
- Tanya (4/5): Wish I’d read the reviews before booking - I had a choice of two hotels in town as a last minute booking. I chose this one because it had a pool. Big mistake, see pics!
There was mould in the bathroom. The kettle base was full of baby cockroaches. Thin towels. No bath mat or face washer. Tiny cake of soap, no other toiletries. No water pressure in shower.
Whole place was very run down.
The lady is reception was lovely though and the bed was comfortable enough
- Harshit (6/5): - The property is old though rooms are comparably clean. Few issues
1. Hot water was not regular
2. The photos shows pool area but it was inaccessible and under construction.
Overall good to spend the night as midway to Gold coast
- Robert (2/5): - Everything in room was extremely old. Outside of fridge was back to bare metal as was tap over sink in bathroom. All cupboards were dirty inside and laminate coming off on the outside. Coffe mugs were all stained on inside. Toilet seat was up on arrival and didn't look like it had been cleaned. Swimming pool was closed and looked like it had been condemned. Worst place i have ever stayed in and should have demanded refund and left.
- Yuli (2/5): - Pool & spa were closed- don’t believe the pictures. The room and the bed had a strong body odour. Noisy mice or rats running on the roof at night. Not recommended. Will not return.
- Christa (4/5): - I mainly booked this motel for the pool and hot tub as I’m taking my kids on school holidays and the pool and hot tub area are condemned and full of green sludge with broken decking all around. The bed linen was dirty. For $220 a night I expected much better!
- Victor (4/5): - It was close to shops
- Ray (6/5): - Mini cheap sopp no shampoo and conditioner noisy air con and overpriced
- Judith (4/5): - Feeling rather gutted with how much we paid for the nights accommodation and the facilities are very very tired and outdated.
Had a huge spider in our room.
Guess i could say the bed was comfy but not too much
else positive to say about our stay.
- Ed (6/5): - gutter overflowing when raining
rooms are tired
bed comfortable
- johannah (10/5): 10/10 stay - We had the most amazing stay ever. They thought of absolutely everything ie. fresh milk, fresh bread, fresh OJ, information and history about the town, oven and stove, washing machine. You couldn't get a better location, very very short walk into town. The place was very tidy and beautifully designed. 10/10. We will defiantly come back
- Derrin (10/5): Macks Magic - Very comfortable stay overnight. Very welcoming hosts.
- Judy (10/5): - The staff were friendly and efficient. There was always staff around so we felt safe. The bed was extremely comfortable. The temperature was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets. They offered us room service each day. The motel is close to shops., and a local park. We would have liked to use the pool, spa, and sauna but were not able to. Thanks for a great stay.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - What a lovely place to stay!
Friendly greeting when I got there, very comfortable and quiet.
Thank you
- ZahidahC (10/5): - Easy check-in and check-out. Excellent services. Clean room, provided towels, and they were accomodating to my needs! Thanks guys!
- Derrin (10/5): Macksville Magic - Very nice hotel to stay at. Clean and tidy rooms with comfy bed.Very nice hosts too.
- Helen (10/5): A convenient stay - An easy to use motel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean but very old and knocked around really needs to read do
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was not a flash place but good for our overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Manager friendly but motel is old and needs refurbishing. Bathroom in need of repair and shower was grubby. Over priced for what you get. This is a budget motel so keep that in mind when you book. Having said that, on this day of travelling our budget options were limited. Staff friendly...
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The tv viewing was obstructed by bunk beds so a waste of time trying to watch
Coffee and tea provided but no milk
Bathroom lock was 6 rubber bands around door knob
Swimming pool looking a bit cloudy. Certainly would not swim in it
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Under cover bbq area.
An updated older property could should have been better.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ii Stayed Because Of A High School Reunion & Was Welcomed Pleasantly, I Reconmend Mid Coast Motel Anytime.
- Pamela (6/5): Halfway motel - Great location near shops. There was a microwave and toaster but no crockery or cutlery and no biscuits. Bed was comfortable but nothing special. Good for a halfway stop between Brisbane and Sydney
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to The RSM
Shower hot water was a bit tepid
Excellent reception
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice, comfortable stay while travelling through to north coast. Room was clean with plenty of space.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The guy was so nice and friendly, definitely recommend anyone in the area to stay here.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No nonsense check in and room. Had what we needed and also a sauna!
- Holiday (4/5): - Room Smells a lot. Trail of ants into room. No shampoo.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pleasant one night stay. Staff very helpful and rooms clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When I turned on the light I disturbed some very large cockroaches in the bathroom which were investigating my toothbrush and toiletries. They scuttled into their home in a large gap behind the vanity.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good value budget accommodation for overnight stop. Away from road noise, important for a good sleep for the next day. Would stay again.
- Pat (8/5): In the heart of Macksville - Very pleasant and convenient. Getting access to the wi-fi was a bit of a hassle. The room was spacious and well appointed however lacked a DVD player. The staff were very friendly and professional.
- Jim (10/5): Right in town, close to all facilities - Friendly welcome
Extra towels offered for using pool
Extra guest accommodated without any fuss
- Verified traveler (8/5): - we were able to get in earlier to get ready as we had a wedding on. they were very accommodating and very nice. I would stay there again .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent and friendly staff. - Most of the staff were away over the long weekend, Penny and Renee were very helpful on the front desk despite being short staffed, had great local knowledge on places to eat, and were very friendly and hospitable, rooms were clean and beds were very comfy.
- Ash (10/5): I love this place - Good layout, big rooms, clean, comfortable. I always enjoy my stay here, and encourage others to try it.
- Annie (4/5): Tired and a bit shabby - Shabby room, no shampoo only two small pieces of soap, road noise...any closer and it would be actually on the Pacific motorway!
The Wi- Fi was hopeless! We had a two hour limit and it worked for about two minutes! I had to stand outside to get it to connect!
Bed was firm, we put blankets underneath the bottom sheet to try and give it some padding.
- Michie (6/5): OK if you want somewhere close to town. - The room itself had good facilities, however, there was dust on the bedside table, the toilet had a constant leak, the shower tap dripped, and the hot water tap on the basin also leaked. Two bath towels and a bath mat were provided, but no hand towel, which was a bit disappointing. The air conditioner kept going to a hot temperature when we wanted it on cool (it was quite a warm day). Both the driveway entrance and exit had potholes, and needed some work on them. We were only booked in for one night, so overall I guess it was OK for what we paid, considering it was Easter Saturday.
- Robin (8/5): Convenient halfway between Brisbane & Sydney motel - Quiet motor inn.. pleasant staff.. close to ex-serviceman's club with good reasonably priced food. Only negatives were a few tiny flying insects annoyingly getting through screens when lights were on, & slight leak from side of shower screen into bathroom floor. Clean, quiet, convenient & reasonable tariff so we'd stay again
- Debra (6/5): Comfortable and reasonable price - This hotel is situated on the main road but was very quiet. Room was a good size and bathroom was pleasant. We were travelling through so the location was good and easy to find. Good price too. Tea/coffee and cups were provided but no other crockery or cutlery which was ludicrous considering there was a toaster to use.
- Oldmate (6/5): Clean the f-ing bathroom - Room was clean . Air Cond was fantastic. Shower screen was covered in mold spores , luckily we had only travelled for a few hours to get there as my wife & child refused to shower. The bedroom needed attention badly . I understand that the humidity is high ATM but really.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Disappointed with the standard of the room for $120 per night
