Guest Reviews
- Bill (9/5): - Great atmosphere in a local pub.
Great food
Pub dog very friendly Nothing.
- Paul (9/5): great - Clean room, comfy bed.
Excellent evening meal N/A
- Derek (9/5): Lovely stay. - The location was in a lovely rural setting. On this occasion I didn’t eat but did so the last time I stayed when the food was excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable. -
- Venkata Gopi Krishna (6/5): -
- Elaine (9/5): We had a few drinks in the bar first of all. Had a bit of a chat with the host and a couple of locals. People were als - The property was convenient for us. Very clean and tidy. Good decorative order. We enjoyed our overnight stay. N/A
- Rakesh (10/5): - Staff and owners were absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the stay even though it was for work. Food i heard is exceptional but didn't get to experience it due to my working hours. Highly recommend to anyone staying in the area!
- Fiona (9/5): - Staff were friendly & helpful. Food good and good portions. Rooms well equiped and beds comfortable. Plently of hot water. The shower cubicle whilst adequate could do with updating.
- Michael (2/5): - Room was fine for £50. I walked in to a look of disgust by the landlord who when they found out I was staying with them made me settle the bill immediately and said nothing else. They told me nothing about check out, breakfast options or even where my room was! They simply pointed at the door (as it turned out the rooms were in a separate building down the side of the Pub) I did read the poor reviews but thought I would try it for the price, but unfortunately they are all true. I drove down the road to eat in the end as I didn't want to go back in to the main pub to be scowled at all evening. There are infinitely better places to stay for just as cheap so do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Room was fine and it had the usual amenities, but I was an unwelcome guest which is never a good experience.
- Andrew (7/5): One night stay March 2026 - Very comfortable bed. Warm room, lots of hot water. Pub has plenty of Olde Worlde charm, with oak beams, flagstone floors and low ceilings Free & ample parking, and set in a lovely quiet location. We stopped one night for a party at another venue close by, but didn't eat. Food looked good though. Location is served well by Uber taxis. Clean, but slightly dated decor in the rooms and the pub itself,
- Philip (9/5): -
- Paul (8/5): -
- Virginia (10/5): Very enjoyable - Everything was good thank you Nothing
- Stuart (7/5): Great for an overnight stopover if you're travelling for business. - Easy check in and the room was nice and clean. Couldn't get hot water in the shower.
- Andrew (9/5): Relaxing place to stay. - The location is excellent. A quiet little village that oozes charm.
The Green Dragon is a very quaint building a lovely place to stay, if you want rural, and quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The food was nice basic menu but good choice.
The rooms are scrupulous clean and fresh. The heating was left on to use at our own discretion.
We would definitely stay here again. Ordering of our meal was a bit confusing. We were given someone else's order.
Service on this note was slow.
- John (3/5): Sleep is possible because everything is closed - Extremely average Bartering for breakfast time 08:30 - waiting until 4:30 for the place to even open. Place still locked up at 08:15 - no way breakfast would be served by 08:30 I left to go home without breakfast.
- Warren (8/5): In would def stay again if working in area - It was clean and comfy, staff friendly , location suited me for work, food was exceptional A little dated
- Andrew (9/5): -
- Adam (10/5): -

- Victoria (8/5): - Great location, we had a meal in the pub which was good The bed wasn't the comfiest it was too hard for myself and partner
- Matt (3/5): -
- Alan (8/5): - Good location for me at time
- James (8/5): Friendly & comfortable - The staff ..are

Property is beautiful 👍 .
- Phil (9/5): Top 3 days there - The ease of finding It the food exceptional the locals friendly The bed could be a little bit more comfortable to our taste
- Rachel (5/5): -
- Shane (3/5): Stay off the moors......you're not welcome here - breakfast was good although don't expect any flexibility on serving time - its 8 or 8. Clean but very dated. Lovely dog in the pub. Not quite a 8 star establishment. Local place for local people with a "slaughtered lamb" (american werewolf in london) vibe. The rooms are adjoined chalets so quite noisy if your neighbour snores. Quite a strange place and wouldn't stay again.
- Ralph (9/5): Wonderful!! - Full Englush breakfast exceeded expectations , location superb, classic quaint country inn, welcoming and helpful staff, evening meal wide choice and excellent quality. Couldn't have wished for better Shower, although hot, a bit short in power
- Karen (6/5): Basic but clean, great food. - The evening meal was splendid and very generous.
Room was good value for money.
In very quiet location in nice village No one was there when I arrived and I didn't receive a warm welcome. When I realised the person working had a very specific dry style I felt OK, but when you first arrive, it's not pleasant. There was some black mould on the shower ceiling. The furniture in the bar was very old and worn
- Russell (8/5): Great overnight stay - Quiet, clean comfortable. Food and drink were great. Location perfect.
- Sue (9/5): Comfortable stay - The pub has lots of character and the evening meal I had was lovely. There is a (small) sociable pub dog to welcome you too. Plenty of parking on site.
The room was very neat, tidy, clean and peaceful. I would certainly stay again if working in the area. Some of the pub furniture was dated but still serviceable. TV in room (which I didn't use) was small which might disappoint those who like to watch TV on an evening.
- Conibear (8/5): - Location
- Talisa (8/5): Lovely room. - Lovely, budget room. Working TV, hot Shower, Clean, extra pillows, warm blankets, ease of access, friendly service. Easy check out. Was just what was required for an overnight. It was very cold on arrival. Makes sense with heating costs, the heating didn't come on unil the early morning, even after turning up radiators. However I also did not go and ask for them to put it on as we were out for the evening so we didn't give them a chance to rectify the issue.
Bed was not the most comfortable.
- Joanne (10/5): -
- Stanton (9/5): - The location The pillows were awful
- John R Buie (8/5): -
- Philippa (9/5): Lovely inn in a beautiful, peaceful setting - It is a beautiful inn in a lovely rural area. My room was in a separate building, and was very quiet and comfortable. Lots of parking available and I had a lovely meal in the pub.
- Steve (10/5): - Location and good food. Nothing!
- Matt (9/5): -
- Luke (7/5): -
- colin (10/5): Lovely quiet location, So glad we found it, - We wanted a one night stop over on route to Shropshire that was quiet .
The pub was in the middle of a quiet village, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable and the room was excellent value, Lovely breakfast , we informed the Landlord Pete that my wife was dairy free and he went and brought some soya milk and had dairy free spread , Nothing to complain about, we only wish we could have stayed longer, would we stay again ?, Yes. defiantly
- walton (9/5): Warm comfortable great food and great people -
- Martine (10/5): -
- peter (10/5): You want real food..look no further. - Superb peaceful location..atmosphere inside..like stepping back in time..Oldey worldy ..full of characters..Specially the Land lady..food superbly cooked...Evening meal & breakfast 😋 Leaving.
- yarnall (10/5): - We had ebikes, and they found a place to keep them safe
- Peter (8/5): Fish and ships out of hours - Motel type structure, very accommodating for bicycle storage, went out of their way to get us some food, even though the kitchen had closed.
- Ray (7/5): -
- Gregory (6/5): - Location was very close to where I needed to be. Food menu quite limited.
- Bernard (8/5): A very comfortable stop over - The food in the pub, both evening meal and breakfast, was excellent
- Sally (8/5): - Location accommodation cleanliness N/A
- Rebecca (8/5): Lovely little pub, ideal for our Game Fair visit - Loved the warm welcome of the pub and the lovely home cooked food. Nice cosy atmosphere and loved playing fetch with the resident dog. Accommodation is seperate from the pub which is great, plenty of parking and good value for money. Great facilities and complimentary tea and coffee in the rooms. Breakfast was soooooo good too. Only one slight niggle the bed was a bit hard for my liking.
- Bernadette (10/5): Absolutely loved our overnight stay. Everything was perfect, food and accommodation - What a lucky find! Been to a funeral from Yorkshire looking for local place overnight. Evening meal was amazing, as was the breakfast. Everything was 100% wish we could have stayed longer!! Many thanks to all XX Nothing
- Andy (8/5): - Very pleasant rooms and very clean. Food at the inn was very good.
- MARTYN (9/5): - location, and very quiet shower pressure
- Shelley (8/5): -
- Brendan (9/5): Highly recommended, will stay again - Friendly welcome, nice ambiance, small village cosy atmosphere, accommodation in a separate but in a close building giving degree of privacy
- Sara (8/5): Very good - The pub was not far from the function we were attending and the main town was in close proximity and easy to drive to. The accommodation was basic, but was clean and had everything we needed. The food in the pub was well executed and at a very decent price. Well done to Peter the chef as I think he is the only chef there cooking!. The staff are lovely, the landlady can come across a bit frosty, but she is in her 80,s (I believe) but is sharp as a tack. Would definitely come back!
- Denzil (8/5): Good value and fine for overnight stop. - Nice traditional pub - very good evening meals and excellent breakfast. Plenty of parking. Rooms are basic but adequate for one or two night stay.
- Adam (8/5): Very good -
- Claire (9/5): Great location, lovely picturesque setting, lots of character, convenient and great value for money. - The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and accommodating of my needs. They were able to put me in the same room as last time on my request, and were also able to adjust to me changing my mind about whether I would have breakfast. The food was really lovely too. Nothing really, I had everything I needed, plenty of drawer and cupboard space, a bath, charging points. Only the TV was a bit on the small side.
- Bev (5/5): Don’t bother - No breakfast- closed. Very unwelcoming. Most of it. Very poor welcome- poor service- just made us feel they didn’t want us there. No effort to communicate with us. In the morning- everything locked up
- June (9/5): A couple - The pub was very old and beautiful, the breakfast was very good, our evening meal was very good too, staff were pleasant. Our room was adequate with a shower, TV, and tea and coffee facilities, towels were also supplied, if I needed to stay in the area again I would stay there again
- Paul (9/5): Great overnight accommodation - Perfect location. Really good for a one night stay. Bed really comfy
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (10/5): Rooms were cute little shallies and on the flat . Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend and stay again - It’s was lovely spot on for what we needed. No problem s
- White (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Giny (3/5): Clean room, uncomfortable bed, basic bathroom - The room was clean and well presented, the bed was like sleeping on hard springs without padding, the shower would have benefited from a deep clean, and it was not possible to get a cold shower the shower just warm or hot See above
- Mike_peel (9/5): Superb - It's a lovely inn in a really nice location. Plenty of parking, and a nice room in an annex. I arrived much later than expected, and am thankful to the landlord (and the two late-staying locals!) that it wasn't too late to check in. I would stay here again if I'm in the area. The wifi was really slow, but the landlord was going to look into it. The water boiled in the kettle was undrinkable, but I suspect that was a one-off due to a problem with the kettle (also reported to the landlord).
- Angel (8/5): Very good - It was very comfy Shall chalet accomodation...it was very quiet. The local area was quiet...too quiet...we wanted to have a drink and was told everything shut at 10! Had to go back to our room!
- Jill (8/5): Very good - Cassie was a very welcome added bonus. Staff very welcoming and friedndly Feather pillows. Tv was in a difficult position .
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Colin (10/5): will go again - very nice nothing
- Gilda (8/5): Very good - Friendly and welcoming. Food good and value for money.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - The location is semi rural, near a road but traffic is just in the morning and good sound insolation. The room is of a good size and clean, with comfortable beds. The owner is friendly and helped me in every way, also preparing breakfast (full English ) at 8 am for me. Just the bathroom is a little chilli when the heating is off and outside is bad weather
- Gaye (7/5): We needed to be in this area and it was good value for the money - The self contained rooms (opposite the pub) were good for our visit. The bathroom needs refurbishing but everywhere was very clean.
The meals we had in the pub were enjoyable. The young girl working there was lovely. The owners of the pub did not come across as friendly.
- Anthony (10/5): Great location - lovely setting. Nice room and great staff. - A gorgeous place in a lovely area - proper olde country pub vibes! Staff were brilliant, food was lovely and the rooms were spacious and bright. Nothing
- Roz (9/5): Will be back - Everything. This lovely little place was ideally situated for the event we were going to. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
- Lorraine (7/5): Ok - Breakfast good. Room and bedding etc. clean, comfortable and warm. Room basic but tired. Owner lacked enthusiasm when we arrived and serving breakfast.
- Karl (5/5): Friendly staff. Nice building let down by dated facilities - Food and staff were great. The bed was like sleeping on rocks and the shower was no more than a trickle and the holder nearly fell apart trying to adjust it.
Tea and coffee facilities were poor.
- Jeffries (6/5): Pleasant -
- Brettstar (10/5): Exceptional - The Green Dragon was absolutely brilliant. The staff are fantastic and the room was immaculate the food was great. I would recommend The Green Dragon to anyone who is looking for great accommodation and a great long weekend. Nothing

- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Julie (8/5): Very good. - The room was like a motel. Very clean and comfortable, containing everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Very good.
- Richie (8/5): Very good - Accomodation was a little tired, but clean and comfortable, both breakfast and evening meal were excellent, will stay again, as we much prefer the smaller hotel/pub rooms, in general we really enjoyed our stay with very friendly staff and pub dog Room could do with an update, as the bathroom/shower had some minor mould issues
- James (8/5): A great find old style English pub with rooms a classic. - Evening meal excellent old time favourite sponge pudding delish breakfast individually cooked a treat. Locals making the pub a true local added to the atmosphere. View of village green in the morning provided a great start to the day.
