Yana (1/5): This hotel is not worth the money, and we will not return - Clean Good afternoon. I would like to warn everyone about this hotel. The front desk staff is extremely unprofessional and unable to provide clear answers to even basic questions. On top of that, they attempted to charge us the full cost of the stay again, despite the fact that we had already paid in advance and showed our receipt as proof. Additionally, the hotel took a $90 deposit at check-in. After we checked out the following day, the staff refused to return the deposit. When we called three days later to resolve the issue, they still refused to refund the money without any explanation. We did not damage anything, violate any rules, or cause any issues. We arrived late in the evening, stayed one night, and left early in the morning. The staff simply stated, “We don’t know why, but the system cannot return the money, so we are not refunding it.” This is completely unacceptable. As a result, we were left with a very negative impression of both the hotel and its management.

John (7/5): Fun Staff made for a Fun Stay. - The Staff was Amazing!!! Great pool and it’s Heated. Overall it’s a nice property. The rooms were hot as the AC wasn’t working. Hallways and Rooms smelled of Cigarette Smoke. Maintenance came into our room to fix the AC the second day.

I have been returning to this resort several times with my family and several friends. Was always great till now. The night before our stay they called us the night before telling us our room isn’t available because they overbooked. Meanwhile we booked this resort over 6 months ago. They were rude to my wife on the phone and was basically telling her to just cancel her trip which would be unfortunate since we had four other families coming with us. They were telling us maybe someone in our party will give up their room then to accommodate us. After they said they can accommodate us we would have to switch rooms during our stay. Which was unfortunate since I have a 2 year old who needs to nap and had to be out of the room. I got moved to a room that must of had a dog in there because my kids allergies were acting up that night. I asked to speak to resort manager and front desk basically brushed it off and said they can come clean the room again. I said at that time no because my son was taking a nap. Told them to come after 1400 then. At 1401 they showed up and walked in the room even when I had the do no disturb sign on the door and woke up my son as they walked in. Wife called guest service again and they were rude to her once more. I tired to speak to manager each day I was there and was brushed off. It’s very unfortunate to have this experience considering how excited we were as a family to go. Unfortunately I will not be going back even after we have stayed there several times already.

Andrew (9/5): We had a great time. This is our third day at this resort. - I like a boutique hotel. So it was small and well decorated in a really beachy vibe. I’ve stayed several times. The food is good. The staff and wait staff are excellent. Both pool areas are nice and the beach area is great. I didn’t love that two chairs come with the room, but you have to pay for the umbrella. Plus, if you wanted the bigger lounge with the cover, it’s very costly and an only fits two people so that was a downside.

We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, specifically at night where the pink lights come on. The staff were very attentive and accommodating when we had guests over. The restaurant was pricey but delicious! This was one of the best hotels we have stayed at on Hutchinson island. The parking was close just across the street and valet was only 10$ a day.

Robert (8/5): Beautiful seaside hotel - Very comfortable and modern. Friendly and responsive staff. 40 dollars a day resort fee provided 2 beach chairs but no umbrella. If you wanted a little umbrella, you would be charged $30. That is ridiculous. They should not nickel and dime customer.

Heidi (10/5): Excellent! - My family and I love this hotel. It’s not too crowded, the food is great, the views are stellar, and the pools are beautiful. It’s also not an overwhelmingly large hotel and it has been fully renovated. As two architects, we thoroughly enjoy the design. The crowd is mostly families which is nice and jives well with our two kids. Every once in a while, they fail to service our rooms which has caused us to call front desk for housekeeping. This is a minor inconvenience that I can easily overlook. The snacks in the common areas are gone in probably less than an hour and not refilled. David’s cookies are a favorite and served from 5-6 pm but I can never find any. Overall, these are too minor to matter much and we love it here.

C4972KRvincentd (2/5): Bugged out - Although the place is very nice and the staff are all great . We had a bad experience with bugs . We checked in on a Friday night 8/8 and my wife found a water bug and a cockroach in the bathroom. The front desk said they would exterminate the room immediately the next morning. I myself found a baby cockroach by my luggage Monday morning upon packing up. The front desk gave us 1 night credit for this. But the kicker was my son upon waking uo Monday morning to dozens of bites on his legs that we later found out were bed bug bites. The hotel told me that they have never had any bedbugs and would check the room professionally and get back to me. Sadly They still have not reached out to us .

Florida_Family364 (6/5): Clean Hotel, but Service and Value Missed the Mark - The hotel itself was clean and well-kept, which we appreciated. However, a few service and value issues took away from the overall experience. Each room includes only two beach chairs, which seems impractical for families. As a group of four, we had to pay extra just to have enough seating — not ideal for a beach resort. Cocktails were overpriced and disappointingly weak. Additionally, we had to call twice for help with our luggage, and no one ever arrived. I eventually had to go downstairs myself to get assistance. I don’t mind paying for quality, but I expect the service and amenities to reflect that price point. With some improvements in hospitality and guest consideration, this property could deliver a much better experience.

Mark7pam (2/5): RATS AND BRATS - Really don’t know where to start on this one. What should have been a perfect stay in a beautiful hotel was a DISASTER. 1- RATS We were sitting down to dinner and watched a huge rat go by our table. When we advised our waitress of the situation, she informed us that there were jetty rats on the property. The rat was huge. 2- BRATS We were unable to use either of the beautiful pools because they were full of unruly, undisciplined children running, diving, fighting and doing cannonballs in every inch of the water. They were also playing in the hot tub. Several of these teenaged boys spoke of sneaking into the hotel. One was carrying a suitcase with him. Aside from the obvious liability issues for the Opal hotel chain, simple rules of common decency did not apply. Why a hotel would not only allow this kind of behavior to occur, let alone support it by plying the adults responsible for these children with loads of alcohol is beyond our educated comprehension. Several other couples were aghast at what they were witnessing. When the staff was informed of the situation, their response was supportive of the hillbilly parenting safety issues. This went on for our entire three day stay. 3- WiFi The hotel WiFi is literally circa 1985. Bring a book. You won’t be able to use any of your technology. We so wanted to enjoy our stay. Our room was clean and beautiful. The property, minus the tacky sales displays that greet you when you enter an architecturally beautiful hotel, is gorgeous. It’s horribly sad that such a perfect property is being run like a low rate, low life motel. Shame on you Opal for allowing this hotel to ruin your stellar reputation.
Robert (10/5): - We all loved Hutchinson Resort & Spa. Great restaurant and bar on-site, easy ocean access, and two pools. Great time had by all.
Ann (10/5): - This hotel is a quiet stay in luxury. We stayed here for three nights while going to Port Saint Lucie to see the Mets play at Spring Training 2025. I thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant food, the ambiance, and the beach is an amazing walking adventure if you choose to venture out. I recommend this hotel, and the food and the bar. Happy Hour is packed with patrons. The Mets won! What could be better?
Sheena (10/5): What a special treat! - Everything was great! The service stood out to me above everything and everything was so nice, so that is saying a lot about the service. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfy, the views were amazing, the pool was refreshing, the food and drinks were great! Oh and the bags of ice in the hallway were so convenient.

Loved the fresh baked cookies that were put out every afternoon- soooo good & quite addictive 😋 The property is in a great location & is nice & quiet & very close to the water so you can listen to the waves crashing w/ the patio door open. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will definitely stay here again when in the area.
Peter (10/5): - We loved our 2nd visit and our corgi Maggie Mae was made the queen of the resort by staff. We will be back! The only thing we didn’t like were the taste of the coffee cups in the rooms. Very minor and doesn’t affect the highly positive review.
TravelingOYEster (2/5): Allergies not taken seriously. - This review is way overdo. We stayed here some time ago (NYE). I was alone with my then 3 yo. We were at the restaurant on NYE (it was around 6pm). I told the waiter I was allergic to peppers. I ordered spring roles as an appetizer- the 1st bite I realized I bit into a pepper (which wasn’t listed on the menu) so I immediately said something. I realized I didn’t have Benadryl on me so I asked if they had any. They said they did not have anything to help. They instructed me to get in my car and get some medicine myself. They said it’s NYE so they couldn’t help me. I was alone with my 3 yo. To say the least I broke out in hives and had a miserable evening. We left there at 7am as I was in no shape to drive in the evening. The manager mailed me a $50 gift card as compensation. I really loved this hotel and wished it was our go to staycation resort. I still can’t get over how lousy I was treated and how they gambled my health with no care in the world not only for me, but my child. Shame on them. Shame on the manager for telling me it’s my problem. I regret not saying something sooner.
Wendy (3/5): RUDE STAFF AND LOW CLASS “RESORT” - Location was perfect! Valet staff were extremely nice as were 2 of the front desk staff Mel and Heather. Bed was comfortable. Almost everything else. Staff was snarky. They smiled while being rude to you. I’ve never been treated so rudely by so many hotel staff. VERY small rooms. For a “resort and spa” many things were extremely tacky like delivering room service in a paper bag with plastic utensils.

JupiterJimmy (2/5): Disappointed - Just stayed there for 4th of July weekend. First the positives, it’s a beautiful resort on the beach and the majority of people working there are friendly and helpful. The spa is also terrific! Now the negatives, the Drift restaurant and bar is run by incompetent people who simply lie and ignore you. We had three couples in our group staying at resort plus friends from outside joining us for drinks and dinner. Our reservation was high jacked by a waitress who wanted us in her section but it was full, tables didn’t clear and we’re waiting 45 minutes. After being told multiple times by hostess that it will be a few minutes, we were ultimately told that we didn’t have a reservation because we didn’t reconfirm which is an absolute lie since we added people to the reservation in person that same day while having lunch there. Had to leave resort for last minute dinner at Conchy Joe’s. Spoke to a manager about it and she never got back to me. Next issue is the swarms of bugs biting you in the morning and evening. We live in Florida on the water so get it but there are ways to control pests. Next is the pool situation. Lots of families with kids stay there and there’s a big pool that would logically be the “kids pool area”. A smaller pool is by the bar near the beach appears to be the adult pool area which it was for about 15 minutes until it was overrun by families with screaming kids. Needless to say the adults were driven off with drinks in hand. Then we rented beach chairs and umbrella for $45 only to have them pulled after an hour because the guys running it saw storm clouds on the horizon. The storms never came yet everyone was kicked off the beach. We checked out a day early and went home.

They charge you usd40 x person for “refreshments” that do not exist (in all my stay did not see any fresh fruit) - except plastic bottle water. Very poor and disappointing…

hisnhearn (10/5): Relaxing and Refreshing vacation - Wonderful oceanfront hotel. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Great amenities, bottled water available for guests on each floor, fruit, muffins and granola bars every morning and fresh baked cookies every evening. Perfect location on the beach and 2 pools to cool off in. Room was very comfortable and loved our oceanfront balcony. Highly recommend this hotel.
Kathryn (10/5): Our happy place!! - We have stayed here several times and each visit is excellent. The staff are wonderful. Our room is spacious and always clean. We opt for the ocean front with balcony which we love. After about noon time you are in the shade overlooking the water for the rest of the day. Beach walking is excellent as the area to the south has few buildings and no crowds. It’s title season now so it’s fun to see the tracks and nesting going on. 2 Lovely pools, bars areas, love the free ice and bottled water, fresh cookies each afternoon and coffee from 6-8 am. Can’t wait to go back in August!!

Nashaun was our server and she made it special. From the valet to the front desk and everyone we came in contact with were so friendly, polite and helpful. Everyone wanted to make sure our stay was perfect. And it was!!! Beautiful beach and pools and service. Will definitely return!

T127PDjohnw (10/5): Hidden Gem - Although we live just down the road in Palm Beach Gardens, this was our first visit to the resort—and it certainly won’t be our last. From the moment we arrived at the valet stand, we were treated to top-tier hospitality. Mel at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and the same can be said for every staff member we encountered—from the pool and beach teams to the housekeeping staff and the outstanding servers and chefs at Drift. The resort’s condition is immaculate. I was certain the property had just opened, and I was truly surprised to learn it has been operating for nearly eight years. Maintaining a beachfront property to such a high standard is no small feat, and the care and attention to detail are clearly evident throughout the grounds. Dinner at Drift was a standout—absolutely delicious—and all the small touches throughout our stay, like cold water stations on every floor, cookies in the evening, and fresh fruit and coffee in the morning, made us feel truly cared for. We were genuinely sad to leave, but we left with a firm decision to return regularly and make Hutchinson Shores one of our go-to destinations. This resort is something truly special.
Lisandra (10/5): - This is our third time staying at Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa and we loved it, we went for Mother’s Day weekend and it was a bit crowded but did not affect the service. We love the ambiance , how close it is to the beach and the poolside service . Definitely coming back soon and would highly recommend it for relaxing gateway!
