- Donna (4/5): I hope whoever stayed had fun - A stranger used my email to book, I did not stay here. Looked it up on google earth, looks like a great location and I’m sure whoever stayed had fun. A stranger used my email to book- please verify emails when guests check in as it could easily be a safety issue.
- matt (7/5): Good stay - Dinner at the restaurant was good. Nice view of the lake. Not much else to do around the property. No fan in room, could here motorcycles across lake with the windows open. Decent value.

- Nanci (7/5): We slept well enough and the view was great - The mattress was great, it was quite clean, the restaurant was very good. The bed frame and sheets. It’s time for an update to finishes.
- Lesley (1/5): - Loved alaska. the hotel and booking. Com both debited my credit card. What should be a easy refund has been a demonstration of either incompetence or indifference notified the hotel and booking at the 1st week of September, as of today 7 October, lots of promises, but no refund....stay away.

- Matt (10/5): - The place just felt Alaskan, and the food is fantastic. The rooms aren't fancy, but they're solid, and very clean and quiet.
I recommend the 2nd floor for the view over lake Wasilla.
I will be staying there again.
- tetianab553 (6/5): Beautiful Lakeside Setting, But Limited Options for Breakfast and Amenities - The location of Mat-Su Resort is excellent, with a beautiful view from the terrace — dining there was definitely a highlight. The staff were very kind and helpful, which made the stay more pleasant. Having a private door that opened directly onto a small lakeside terrace was a wonderful bonus.
However, there were some downsides. The restaurant didn’t open for breakfast until 11 a.m., which made it difficult to have a proper morning meal. Most of the available “quick breakfast” options were limited to omelets with bacon or pancakes, but as someone who follows a healthy vegetarian diet, I found it challenging to find suitable choices. Since it was off-season, many other places nearby were closed as well.
The room was also missing basic kitchenware — apart from cups and saucers, there were no dishes or utensils, so preparing anything simple wasn’t possible. The internet connection was weak, which was inconvenient for me as I work remotely.
- Beth (8/5): - Room was good, upon arrival a dirty towel was left hanging the bathroom door, food was left in the refrigerator and the back door & window were unlocked.
Other than those the facility is beautiful & our stay was quite

- Karrie (10/5): - Room and view amazing. Staff attentive and professional. Restaurant fantastic!!
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Rod (10/5): - The room and view was beautiful
- James (7/5): -
- Kim Arlene (8/5): - Room was nice. View was gorgeous. Bed was extremely comfortable. Resort restaurant was top notch. My only beef was that we tried to contact the resort hotel several times before our arrival at the phone numbers on-line and on our confirmation and never, ever got an answer or a voicemail. Coming in from Oregon, that was concerning!! We only saw housecleaning the afternoon before we left.

- Keith (10/5): Nice clean place with beautiful views - The staff were very nice and accommodating. They have plenty of food and drink options for dinner. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The views from the room were beautiful with a pristine lake and mountains in the distance. There is no breakfast in the hotel itself. We had no problem going to a local diner and had a nice breakfast. However it would be nice to have even just coffee and a continental breakfast available in the restaurant. There is a little drive thru coffee shop just outside the parking lot that you could pick up as well. Overall this wouldn’t keep me from staying here if I was in Wasilla.
- Kelle (10/5): - Loved the lake and the loons. It's a quiet beautiful place to chill.
- Lee (6/5): The room was beautiful and view was incredible. - The staff was exceptional & the view was incredible.
We sat outside our room & watched fish jump. Dirty towel found under our bed & bathtub stained
- Katie (10/5): - Best view and food around. Wish hours were open a bit earlier and later but staff were amazing
- Ben (6/5): - Not very well cleaned and supplied
- Shelly (10/5): - We have stayed here numerous times. It’s so quiet and cute.
- JENNY (4/5): Be sure don’t get first floor room. - Beautiful view
Nice room We were staying on the first floor. The upside room guests were super noisy during the whole night, kept moving stuff around, walking around all night. Won’t be able to sleep without earplugs. Terrible!
- Tzviel (10/5): - Quite surprising place. Nice, clean, amazing surroundings, just on the kake.
Room is spacious, lots of space, bed is perfect !!!
- Jean (8/5): - Room was spacious and had a nice view. Dinner at the restaurant on site was excellent. The room was a bit dated and the tv was hard to watch because the roku wouldn't connect to stream anything
- Christine (8/5): - The restaurant was excellent Kitchenette was poorly stocked. I had to ask the front desk to get me utensils and bowls
- michael (10/5): - Counter help was not available
- ELEONORA (10/5): Encantador alojamiento frente al lago - Habitación amplia y cómoda, con una encantadora terraza hacia el lago, buen restaurante, amplio parking. No ofrece servicio de desayuno a pesar de estar algo alejado
- BM3108 (8/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - Very nice, comfortable stay. Very pretty property, nice view of the lake.
- Roland (6/5): - No host hotel. No lobby. No services.

- Iraj (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (8/5): Majestic Views, friendly staff -
- Lindsey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Franck (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ronan (10/5): - Great location on the lake, really friendly staff and great food. Highly recommend
- Toots24 (8/5): Not fancy, but comfortable, clean and waterfront - The reviews from 2024 are misleading. You're not in Kansas anymore - this is Alaska and Mat-Su is a very comfortable, clean, quiet and charming place. No frills, pretty basic. Motel-style, but our room was on the water, in fact, a float plane landed shortly after we checked it. We were there just one night on our way to Seward. We were too late making reservations, so couldn't get into restaurant, but we had a car and hostess gave us excellent recommendations. If we were to come back to Wasilla, we'd stay here again.
- David (8/5): - The room did not have a sofa bed, as we had reserved. However, the staff hustled up a solution, which was fine for our one-night stay. A wonderful view from the balcony.
- Timkis74 (6/5): This Resort is just a place to sleep, nothing more. - Location was good, close to most things I wanted to visit. Room was not very clean. The floor could use a good vacuuming and mopping. The patio was also dirty with over grown weeds. When they finally cut the grass, the patio was covered with grass clippings.
- Charles (10/5): - Small older lakefront property with excellent dining room and service. Dock allows for boat and float plane access. Water sport equipment available for rent. Excellent front desk staff. Clean comfortable room although no maid service during our stay, towels available upon request. About a 10-minute drive to Wasilla.
- Steven (6/5): Overpriced motel with nice lake views and great limited service restaurant. - Nice lake view, attractive furnishings in room which had a fridge and microwave. Enjoyed balcony looking at lake. Restaurant was great when it was open! Never for breakfast and limited on other times. Check in difficult as facilities were all locked up despite our arriving after checkin time. Bed too soft, balcony needed paint, no breakfast service, no service as it was run as a motel so you are on your own. Steps to room as there is no elevator, high price for what you get.
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (8/5): - Nice quiet place.
Check in at the restaurant hostess stand was awkward.
- Shelly (10/5): - Amazing resort! We have stayed numerous times and will be back again!
- Mattie (8/5): Very good -
- Fred (10/5): Good job Mat Su Resort - Go stay there anybody, anytime of year!
- Tory (8/5): - Nice place. Kinda pricey. Bill did not match Orbitz confirmation amount. $10 more expensive. Would have been nice if restaurant had breakfast.
- James (10/5): View, space, clean, remodeled - A very nice place to take the family when visiting Wasilla.
Off season, and couldn't find anyone in the morning, but would gladly stay there again. Great view. Spacious room.
- Walter (10/5): Excellent - Everything ….especially the HeliAlaska tour and the bed! I loved every minute of it
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (8/5): - Great rooms, the view of the lake and mountains was perfect.
- Trenton (6/5): - Sofa bed was broken. Staff arranged for us to have another room additional room so we could sleep 3. Bathroom could be updated. Caulking around edges of shower were missing. Food still in refrigerator. It would be nice to have extra coffee supplies and towels for both rooms since we were there for multiple nights.
- Christie (10/5): - Our favorite place to stay for a weekend getaway!
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - Aiden was incredibly helpful. All other staff was wonderful as well. The bedding is a major issue we could not move without the sheets and mattress cover coming undone. Deep pocket or properly fitting sheets and mattress covers would make a huge difference.
- Robin (8/5): - Great view
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Blaine (10/5): - .
- Sandy (8/5): Very good - My husband and I had to pay twice because at checkin the manager at the Resort did not get any money from Booking.com so we had to pay for it twice. We were not very happy about Booking.com and have not heard from you regarding this matter. If we don't hear from you, we will not be using Booking.com anymore. Booking.com charged us and the Resort charged us because they did not receive the money form Booking.com.
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tyson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Doris (8/5): - The staff was very nice, when we arrived our room had a missing remote so the TV did not work. The young lady who came to the room to check it out did not have a solution. The next day the person took a remote from the restaurant who had 5 of them and had us use it. Wonderful thinking outside of the box. The room and furniture were fantastic but the mattress was very soft so I did not do so good but my husband slept fine.
- Simon (9/5): Fab stopover between Anchorage and Denali - Great location, great food and great staff - what more can I say ??
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful location right on the lake! Fun watching the fish jumping in the lake and planes taking off and landing right at the dock. The attached restaurant is fantastic!! Service is very good. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom could use some TLC and updating. Just beware when staying here...They close at 9:00! We were driving from the airport and got a call they would leave the key to our room in a lock box on the door and they gave us the code as the front desk would be closed when we arrived. They do not offer breakfast or even coffee in the morning. They open at 11:00! If you are staying over a weekend be sure you have plenty to toilet paper as they closed all day on Monday and don't open again until 4:00 on Tuesday!! There is no one on the premises to assist you. A lady would come by daily and ask if you need towels but there wasn't any daily room service to make the bed or clean etc.
Do yourself a favor and book a room upstairs. We stayed on the first floor for the first part of our visit and it was very noisy. We went away for the weekend and stayed upstairs upon our return and it was quieter.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The best part was the restaurant! Great food!
- Katie (10/5): - We loved the views and a quiet place to stay with convenience to have a nice dinner next door.
- Brend482 (6/5): “Resort” is a big stretch - Mat-Su Resort is really a motel with some style. It has large guest rooms with a rustic decor and kitchenette and a terrific view of Lake Wasilla. But there are none of the amenities you’d expect from a “resort” property like a pool, gym or recreational facilities. There’s a restaurant on site and that’s it.
Also, while a rustic cabin on a lake can be appealing, this property is not at all “cozy,” with linoleum floors and white stucco walls rather than wood and earth tones. It’s also a resort that - I am not making this up - ran out of regular coffee and only had dozens of pods of decaf available.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Food was good
- Fred (8/5): Room adequate. Property location good. Needs updating. Staff great. - Location was great Dated
- Caroline (8/5): Very good -
- DianaS740 (6/5): Great view, amenities not what we expect from a resort - Not really a resort. There are only about 12 rooms and there are no resort benefits, other than being next to the restaurant. No breakfast provided but there is a coffee stand in the upper parking lot, and Holey Moley donuts is pretty close, and they were just wonderful!
Not much signage or explanations. We had to check in at the Everett restaurant desk, and the morning we checked out the restaurant was closed. Finally tracked down someone from housekeeping.
Room size was okay, bathroom very small. Plenty of storage in the main room, but no desk and the only chair was a hard straight-backed chair. The shower knob had to be pulled out straight, and it was hard to do.
Housekeeping didn't replace the already empty kleenex box or leave an extra roll of toilet paper, but when we asked they brought them within 10 minutes.
View from the 2nd floor balcony was really nice. Got to watch a lot of float planes land and take off.Bed and especially pillows were comfy.
- mike (8/5): - Great view of the lake. Mattress is too soft for me. Coffee isn’t very good.
- Lees33 (2/5): Not up to minimum standards - Our room at this “resort” was terrible. The room was dusty and dirty. Coffee cups were dirty and there were missing dishes and utensils. You couldn’t call anyone because the phone didn’t work. The fitted sheets didn’t fit the bed and there were no room darkening shades. The view was nice but that’s it. All of these things could be remedied by cleanliness and attention. I would not recommend this place.
- Tim (10/5): - Great location overlooking the lake, very peaceful and beautiful view. A desk in the room would be good for working & teams/zoom meetings. Might be nicer to keep the big gate between the accommodations and the kitchen shut, trash gets a little stinky in the heat. Restaurant is fantastic, great food and great service. The live music was an unexpected and really nice touch.
Could use a pale ale on the beer menu, but i made do lol. Enjoyed my stay - thanks!
- Heather (8/5): Rough beginning but wonderful experience!! - We got there about 7:30pm and COULD not find where to check in or even to get help. Had to call the after hours number -and no answer. Called the facility director who helped me. Finally got our room. VERY clean and amazing views. Quiet and just had a great experience and plan on going back!!
- Herbert (10/5): Alaska 2024 - Amazing lodge overlooking a beautiful lake. Rooms were appointed nicely and very clean. Service and food at the restaurant were excellent. Would highly recommend.
- Timkis74 (6/5): Would not call this place a resort, more in line with a budget hotel. - No breakfast provided Room was dirty, noisy and hot.
- Scott (4/5): - No heat. Had to call and get an electric heater because the boiler was off. First night it was 58 degrees in the room.
- steveo764 (6/5): Yes and no - Was happy and disappointed. Smaller but nice room. Bed was comfortable. Nice view of the lake. Problems. Went to make coffee and the pot had not been cleaned and was moldy uck! Made me wonder about the rest of the cleaning. When my wife tried to shower she couldn’t get the water to come on. It took me a minute or so to get it on. Had to pull really hard and was concerned About breaking it. Had to also go in and turn it off. Light in shower area is not close to bright enough. Lots of TV options. Ten dollar resort??? Also if you stay her the check in is in the restaurant. 🇺🇸🙏
- Charles (10/5): Birthday weekend getaway - Outstanding weekend in Wasilla. Very good food and wonderful views of Wasilla lake and Pioneer Peak.
- Colin (10/5): - The Mat-Su Resort is a great spot to explore the valley. Centrally located, rooms were of good size and comfortable amenities. The attached restaurant offered quality meal options, parking was easy, and the views were breathtaking!
Kitchenette amenities could be improved to support those choosing to have food options in the room.
- Pam (9/5): Superb -
- John (3/5): not good - It was a beautiful room with a comfy bed. The base board heater under the window would not shut off, we kept opening the back door in an effort to cool the room off i turned the thermostat off but it did not do any good, way too hot and humid like trying to sleep in a sauna We got up at 7 and could not stand it anymore and left. Will not be back.
- Henry (8/5): Very good -
- Davis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristine (10/5): - The lake view was outstanding! Food quality at Everett’s was also very good - rooms are quite large, LOVED the private balcony - and the mattress and bedding were among the most comfortable we’ve had in any resort stay EVER!!
Overall, we would definitely stay here again winter or summer… walk to the restaurant from rooms was a tad precarious when iced over, and we had to buy a stopper for the bathtub — no other improvements we would suggest for this wonderfully affordable and lovely place!!
- Anonymous (10/5): Clean quite and comfortable - The scenic view
- Marissa (10/5): - Cute room with all the essentials. Gorgeous view, very quiet and relaxing space. Convenient location and close to anything you need. Absolutely loved our stay as it was exactly what we needed!
- Andrea (8/5): Very good -
- Bonnie (8/5): - I'm not sure I'd call this place a "resort" but the room was comfortable and the view was pretty. The check-in was a little confusing because we didn't realize that the hostess counter in the restaurant was also the hotel check-in.
- Lorrain (8/5): - The view from the room is spectacular. The mattress on the bed very comfortable. Frame just a tad tall from floor. Room is spacious. Restaurant is amazing food. Decor is pleasant. The bathroom was the challenge. Door to shower/toilet was very dirty. Bathroom very small and in need of upgrading. Shower head is tall but not adjustable. Made rinsing off a challenge. I really like this place but options are limited in the area. People from restaurant had parked in room areas so I had to repark later after diners left. It is posted so not much that staff could do about it. Thermostat in room didn't seem to work but options of portable fan or heater available in room.
- najla (4/5): - Freezing cold
- Tim (10/5): - First time staying here. Great place good food at the restaurant on site. Staff was great. Clean and the views of the lake and mountains in the background are amazing.
- Gloria (6/5): The hotel is in a great location, the room was clean, except for dirty towels in the bathroom, the s - It was very hot in the room , even turning the heat off. The TV remotes batteries were dead, the telephone in the room did not work to be able to call the main desk. I had to walk over and ask somebody for batteries and get the TV hooked up properly for it to work. There was dirty towels hanging in the bathroom. You can hear every step from the people upstairs.
- Annette (10/5): - Right on the lake, beds were great, restaurant food was great too.
- Marina (8/5): Very good -
- Darryl (9/5): Superb -
- Denise (7/5): Good - Lakefront Confusing how to check in
