- Katherine (10/5): Amazing in every way! - The Highland Lodge was gorgeous! The room was very clean and had everything we could ask for. Breakfast was freshly prepared, had several great options, and was so, so yummy! The view from the room was also beautiful, as was the entire property. I could not recommend this place more.
- Kaila (10/5): - Our stay at the Highland Lodge was such a delight. It was perfectly remote but not too far from the nearest towns to pop into. I can see this place flourishing during all the seasons. They have really curated the cozy vibe here from the warm lighting, to the soft music, to the comfy decor in all the communal areas. It was all wonderful. We did not dine-in for dinner but the breakfast was lovely with plenty of options. The exterior of the lodge has the perfect amount of entertainment options. We took the short walk down to the beautiful lake and hiked the trail that went from the lodge to Barr Hill. The hike was very whimsical and worth a try if staying here. Overall, great experience. Would absolutely recommend!

The bed was kind of hard and the pillows mushy. The location is beautiful. It seems like a good family place, not so good for older people.

Nous avons bien profité du grand salon avec ses canapés confortables et sa grande bibliothèque. En gros un beau séjour.

- Xiaoxu (4/5): - The property itself is nice and pretty, setting by a lake. However, they changed our room type from two beds to one bed. When we checked in, there are no bath amenities, and bathroom trash was not cleaned. The cold water faucet also didn’t work. Room key was not given to us either, so when we left the room we were not able to come back.

- Elysabeth (10/5): We are already looking forward to returning! - Elsa and Chad are the best! :) They are the new managers of Highland Lodge, and they could not be more delightful! Caspian Lake is terrific (mere steps away), and the lodge provides all manner of kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and more. There is tennis and walking trails and every activity you and your family could want! In the evenings, enjoy a specialty cocktail on the porch that overlooks the lake and watch the sunset. Or enjoy one of the nightly food truck options (Sunday - Tuesday) or a delicious dinner on the lawn or wander to one of the nearby "food mecca options" including the famous Cabot Creamery, microbrewery, gastropubs and more! We can't wait to return!

- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't Stay on Ground Floor - I've stayed in a lot of old buildings, this was by far the loudest creaking floor ever. Combine that with a family room right above you, and the entry way right outside your poorly fitting door, and I didn't get much sleep. The upstairs rooms are probably fine.

Limited cell phone area as well.They lean toward a mostly Vegan menu at dinner though there are a couple of meat choices. Beautiful relaxing grounds and superb breakfast. If this is what your after look no further!

The room was clean but the soap was weird and smelled like men’s cologne. Also the room was right off of the reception area and every time someone called or came in you could here the conversation clear as day. My husband and I woke up super early to get there like 3 in the morning early so it was not all that great to be kept away because the phone was ringing. I would suggest staying in a more expensive room to avoid being kept awake

The breakfast was wonderful and sourced from local farms. The setting on lake caspian was so beautiful and peaceful yet still close enough (15 mins) to great dinning and brew.

Great destination for a family vacation or just a quiet get-a-way. There were also fun things going on in their bar, but we didn't participate because we were traveling with a toddler. It's an old farmhouse with a lot of character, and the rooms are very clean. Owner cooks a great breakfast!
