Guest Reviews
- Don (10/5): - Very unique experience! The restaurant food was amazing and the cabanas are very clean and comfortable. The owner is passionate about her animals and will give you a personal tour of her working farm if desired. A great place to stay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cabanas was close to the zoo, but smelled very musty and there was no fridge. Traffic noise from hwy was tolerable. Restaurant had average food and when we asked for a smaller order of an entree for a 7 year old they said they could not do that. No kids menu. Our morning server was a lot more personable. Owner was smoking in the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was lovely and so close to the Belize Zoo, which we loved and would recommend.
Loved the open air restaurant and the great hospitality of the on site owners. Bus stop right in front of property so easy to get to our next destination.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to the zoo and monkey bay. Great food and owners are amazing. Only negative was that WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms.
- Brandolyn (10/5): Nice hotel 45 minutes from airport - Great cafe, Cabana was perfect for a night stay before heading to the airport. Good size for our family of five.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Simple rooms are just fine, but there was evidence of termites in the bunk bed. The room smelled musty until the air-conditioning was running for a while, and we had a big spider and a frog visit in our room. The food was good and the staff very nice.
- florence (10/5): Nice place - Very convenient (family of 4), clean and confortable
- Keita (10/5): Great rest stop - The tiled shower was SPARKLING clean! The AC works properly and the ceiling fan worked well. Wi-Fi connection was amply strong and fast-no deficits here. Also, the restaurant was priced moderately and the food was excellent! They source their ingredients from local sources, which means everything is fresh. That makes a big difference.
The proprietor Has her office right inside the restaurant, which makes for ea has her office right inside the restaurant, which makes her incredibly accessible. Plus, she is very friendly.
Cheers is located halfway between Belize city and Belmopan. It’s a great place to rest in between. Since it’s in the middle of nowhere, I felt completely safe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, basic, affordable room in the right spot - It's conveniently located if you have an afternoon flight into BZE and are heading west, but don't want to be out on unfamiliar highways after dark. A simple room, just as it appears in the photos published here. Clean, basic, and convenient. The on-site restaurant (and bar) will be welcome after a long day of traveling, but don't arrive too late in the evening because it's not open all night. You can charge it all to your card to conserve your converted money and the owners/staff are friendly. Note that the top bunk in the pictured room doesn't really have a safety rail that extends above the mattress height, so you probably won't feel very comfortable sending someone young up there - just something to think about. This was the right choice for us this night and gave us a head start on the next day's activities.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable cabana, delicious food at Cheers - We enjoyed every minute of our 2 night stay and even stopped by again for lunch several days after we checked out. We had a clean, cool room/cabana in a beautiful tropical setting. Cheers is conveniently located between Belize City and San Ignacio, right on the bus route, not far from the Belize Zoo. Anita and her staff were very helpful, she even arranged a last minute nearby cave tubing excursion for us with Fernando, an excellent guide. So glad we made time for it. We were able to combine our meal tabs with our room charge and pay by credit card at check out which helped save our limited cash. We highly recommend Cheers and will stay there again on our next trip to Belize.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice Stay - Quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed several meals at the restaurant.
