Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Felt like I was in my own little Oasis. And throughout the entire property it fit the theme and culture. Cute little extra things as far as the umbrellas and hats. We had an amazing stay!
- Laurent (10/5): - Positif
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic hotel! Service was lovely. Spacious rooms, hot showers with strong water pressure, and best of all - refillable water bottle station.
- Dewi (8/5): - Good location and great service. Breakfast food can be improved with more choices.
- Samantha (10/5): Best hotel I've ever stayed at! - This hotel is unbelievable. It's gorgeous, huge, conveniently located, and has everything you need. They give you reusable water bottles to use and have drinking water at reception for you to fill them with! They give you hats that you can take home, as well as umbrellas to use to block the hot sun during the long days around the pagodas. They have lots of e-bikes in mint condition for you to rent for the day, with a displays showing the charge remaining (this is very important!). The rooms are HUGE, the bathrooms have a bathtub and shower and everything in the minibar is complimentary, which they fill everyday. The pool area is fantastic, and the breakfast buffet has everything you could possibly want. It's a bit of a walk to the main restaurant area of Nyaung-U (about 15-20 minutes) but that was no issue for us. This was the best hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life, and it was not expensive at all!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff are respectful and seem genuinely concerned.
We appreciated the sustainability of the hotel which we have not seen in other hotels in Myanmar.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful property but our room had a strange odor.
- MR (10/5): - A beautiful property with helpful staff. We got there early in the morning, and they gave us an early check in as soon as the rooms became available. Since we were with children, the manager also invited us to join in on breakfast even though we weren’t officially due to check in until later in the day. The prices for food at the restaurant was very reasonable, unlike most hotels.
- MURAKAMI (10/5): ロハスなホテル - ホテルのスタッフは丁寧でフレンドリーな対応で気持ちが良かったです。落ち着いたブテイックホテルで心地良い滞在ができました。
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great hotel, could not fault it. Good location, staff friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall it is a very nice hotel. Service, food, and room setting are outstanding. The only drawback is the odor from the bathroom of Rm 313.
- Anna (10/5): Incredible people! - Everything was incredible! From the staff, to the service and everything in between. The amazing kindness of the folks that work there helps restore faith in humanity.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff are so helpful and the amenities are plentiful. I can't say enough about this hotel. Looking forward to visiting again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good , big and clean room , love thanakha woman and reception , hat in the room is so cute
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice clean facility with helpful staff. They did a great job in helping us arrange tours and guides. $5 gin and tonic.
- Simone (10/5): Excellent experience - Ananta Bagan was awsome! Everything was fantastic! great pool, staff, location, room, just everything was spot on.
- Mei Chi (10/5): - Good location, good service, nice people of Bagan, good view of room
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay at while exploring Bagan. The restaurant serves excellent food and the pool is a great place to cool of from a day of cruising around Bagan.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good hotel location, 5 minutes walking to Nyaung-U town and 10 minutes by ebike to main temples and Old Bagan. Staff very kind and helpful. Great rooms, big and clean with all amenities, large and comfortable bed. Pool perfect to midday break from Bagan hot weather, very clean and open until late. Breakfast is average, not many variety and consistency, eggs cooked under request and several items that were available on first morning were not on buffet following days and only came after ordering, bread and croissants are not always fresh.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Be careful with everything you handle in the room - We've spent two nights with the hotel and tried their dinner, spa and laundry service which were all great. Everything was perfect until we checked out - we were told the shampoo container was chipped and asked to pay for it. What happened was - when i tried to open the container when i was having a shower, because of suction it wouldn't open and the whole thing was lifted up. Then in a split second the body of the container fell and that's how it was broken. We weren't trying to get away from what we damaged and happy to pay for it. However the staff checked price list then asked us to pay USD15 for the damage (if you know how much you can get with USD15 in Myanmar you would understand its a total rip-off). We were left total speechless for what they wanted from us then the staff asked "how much you want to pay?" like bargaining in the market... In the end they agreed we could pay USD5 which we think was way more reasonable.
Personally i'd think if the item is really that expensive and fragile you shouldn't have let your guests use in the first place, or you should really bear the risk of any damage (need not to say its not a good idea to use these containers in the shower with slippery hands and water in eyes).
I cannot deny the great environment and service the hotel has offered us. But as a rather high-end hotel in the area, they should really think about how they should manage incident like this to avoid disappointing their guests.
- Joshua (10/5): - The staff is over the top friendly and professional. The hotel grounds are in immaculate condition. And every amenity you could want is available at unbelievable prices. Ananta is also close to all of the best temple spots. We would highly recommend for anyone staying in Bagan!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Exceptional hospitality! - The staff at Ananta Bagan have been amazing and exceptional. My husband's birthday was during our stay there and the staff baked a cake and sent it to our room personally!
The hotel location is great, it's within walking distance of Shwezigon Pagoda and eateries in Nyaung U area. The room is extremely spacious and clean despite us being dusty from walking around temples the entire day. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very good hotel with very nice staff - Very good hotel with amazing staff which did a surprise for my gf birthday.
Just aircon and pillows could be a bit better for the comfort. But overall, all good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very large rooms and bathrooms with excellent design
Great restaurant with very reasonable prices
Beautiful landscaping
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - The hotel is very nice in a good area fairly close to most things. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Thank you for a great stay - A terrific place to stay in Bagan - staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (went out of their way to help accommodate a last minute change in plans, helped arrange transportation and communicate itinerary to drivers), location convenient to temples and nearby dining, well-maintained property, WiFi was fine, breakfast spread was solid, room comfortable and clean but not fancy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved our stay here. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable as well. The staff are really outstanding. We especially enjoyed the service provided by our waiter, Aung. He knew our drink preferences after the first night! Thank you for a lovely stay.
- Anna (10/5): Excellent hotel choice for Bagan! - Everyone at Ananta was very friendly and professional. My friend and I had a wonderful stay! Would recommend to other travelers.
- Mykel (10/5): - The 9hr bus ride from
Yangon to bagan was worth it. Hotel was awesome
- Alan (10/5): Has much of what most people want. - Great hotel for anyone and everyone. Pool delightful, restaurant good, gym small and too hot but ok, spa services excellent and room comfort couldn’t be surpassed except one night the electrical fuse went. Having reported it the fixed it very quickly. Loved it and highly recommend this quality boutique hotel.
- Jill (10/5): Wonderful hotel in a perfect location to explore - We loved our Ananta Bagan experience ... the rooms were super clean, updated with great beds and pillows, we rented the hotel scooters which were well maintained and worth the little extra. The pool and restaurant was very nice with lovely breakfast everyday. It was perfect for our crew of 3 families with Teens! Thanks to the Ananta Bagan team you guys were awesome!
- Pefro (10/5): - Great stay in Bagan. Hotel is charming, staff is super friendly, rooms are big and quiet, swimming pool is lovely, and breakfast is to die for. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great Hotel! Friendly and courteous staff who provides 5 star services. Keep it up!
- Martin (10/5): - This hotel was an amazing choice. Located not far (walking distance) from the Nyung-U center, including Shwezigon pagoda. You hop on the e-bike they rent you for very reasonable price and 5 minutes later you cruise the area covered with all the temples, stupas and other historical monuments. Hotel itself has solid internet, big pool, great breakfasts, very spacious rooms, with clean beds and bathrooms. Service is amazing and they are really doing the best they can for you. If I would every return to Bagan area, Ananta is my first choice.
- Michelle (10/5): Five Star Service! - I was blown over by the friendly service at Ananta and all the “extras” you get for such a great price- free mini bar, turn down service with local candies every night, free flip flops, hats and thanaka paste to try, and because I stayed 5 nights one free dinner and spa service! Bed was very comfy, ac and hot water were great, restaurant food was delicious including some local choices. I hired a driver for 4 days at a reasonable price and they were safe and their English was ok to good.Onlynegative I can thinknof is that they are not as close as I thought to the main restsurant strip, but I did have good meals at restaurants just down the street. I would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic, can’t fault it! - Wonderful
Everything was good, restaurant good, breakfast great...
- Charlene (10/5): Great stay with Great service - Extremely courteous and helpful staff. Polite and efficient. Room is clean and comfortable, location is about 7km to old bagan, 12km to new bagan. Good breakfast included. Its a great choice and highly recommended
- mira (10/5): - The stuff were so frindly. Would do anything for you.
The breakfast was amazing also the rest of the food. Try myanmar menu.
In all over our stay in Bagan was very nice because of hotel.
One sugestion to visiters. Dont go to bagan during water fest. You will be wet every time you go out.
- Raz (10/5): Excellent hotel with first class service! - Amazing uncomplicated hotel offering first class service and attention to detail. Would not hesitate to book again!
- Jose A (10/5): Great choice in Bagan/Nyaung-U - Excellent value for money! Very clean spacious rooms and bathrooms. Comfy bed, good breakfast buffet, and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good stay - May be overpriced for some for small reasons that could be overlooked like limited in-room coffee, only 2 bottles of water, no iron, the final touches that complete comfort. But, construction on a new set of rooms was annoying. It stole any chance of relaxing in our room or on the balcony. Expedia said only 2 rooms left when I booked. Upon arriving, we were offered a ground level room at the pool. Assuming people would walk past our not-so-private room, I asked for a 2nd floor room. One was offered near the construction. I was told no other room was availale, that all rooms were "full". Assuming we'd spend all day in Bagan, and the staff who said they construction was "not working" on Sunday, the room should have been fine. Sunday morning, we noticed no guest anywhere in sight. The restaurant staff told us everyone got up early to see the sunrinse. But another staff told us only four rooms were booked, that the property was empty. Sunday afternoon we got back to the room around two. We wanted to shower and rest and go back to the temples. But construction was in full noise mode. Electric saw and hammering was not helpful. At reception I was told yet again the place was full. However, it was NOT full and we saw only two other sets of guests during our 3-day stay. The front desk staff chose to lie rather than make us 100% comfortable and offer a room away from the non-stop noise. That was the most annoying thing they could have done, to lie. It was worse than the noise.
- Cassandra (10/5): Great choice - Very comfortable stay. On outskirts of Nyuang U so easy walk to many restaurants. Also close to temple plains. Free mountain bikes to explore at your leisure. Pool is very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Happy Bagan Stay - Room is spacious and clean. Staff is helpful. Breakfast is good. Only the air condition is not powerful enough. It may be better if they can add a ceiling fan to circulate cool air.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel with lovely staff
- steve (8/5): Nice hotel, friendly staff - They are in the process of renovating all the rooms. Only renovated rooms are available. We had a great massage at the spa.
