- Ruth (10/5): - Our room was clean and cozy! We like to try local restaurants and The Black Cat was right in the backyard of the hotel! Check in and out was super simply, breakfast was warm with lots of variety, coffee was always full and hot! We were very pleased with our stay!
- Jasper (4/5): - Furniture was tattered. Stains on carpet. Place could use a facelift. Sofa beds were the usual terribly uncomfortable, and extremely short of bedding. One pillow with no case and one fitted sheet. Had to ask for extra, and all we got were thin bedspreads that kind they use for decoration, and we got another fitted sheet and a pillowcase. Also I brought my own large coffee pot because I was preparing for a church event. I mistakenly left it on the counter in my room at checkout, and when I asked about it later and my daughter went back and looked, no one had ever seen it. I cannot believe staff would just take things left in the room!

Yep they had one, but it was not in operation. That is the only real reason we booked here. It was too late to go anywhere else everthing was booked. Girl at front said it has been down for some time. Yeah I was pissed. I did really like the hotel. Didnt like being deceived.

Should’ve went next door to the quality inn or slept in the truck. Room was clean and staff was friendly but other than that not a fan.

Staff are always kind, friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean and smell fresh. It is our only choice in Thief River Falls.
- Mark And Jeanne (6/5): Disappointed - The shower set up is terrible. It is in the middle of the wall instead of either end. Water got all over the floor and the hand nozzle arm was broke and wouldn’t stay up high. I dropped something and when looking for it I found garbage behind the dresser.

- Jess (2/5): - I found dried blood on the sheets upon check-in. Hotel staff was less than helpful and I had to ask for a replacement set of sheets. They did not come and check nor collect the dirty sheets. Front desk person said she would report the incident to the manager and discuss compensation. At checkout I was told that they could not do anything because I booked through Expedia and they did not have my card on file (they had my card for incidentals). I called Expedia and they contacted Grandstay. Whoever they spoke to from Grandstay lied to the Expedia rep and said the sheets had fresh blood on them. Very disappointed in how the situation was handled, the lack of professionalism, and their refusal to make the situation right.
- Mylynn (6/5): - I really liked the location of this place. It was very convenient for us. Pretty on the outside and the foyer. Rooms were nice. I gave it an average rating because the fridge didn't work(I got it working), the pool was down (I heard it's been down for at least 3 months). We were there for family and really were looking forward to the pool. The breakfast was not great... juice machine was just water, nothing my gluten free daughter could eat. No cooler with yogurt and such. You will be able to eat yummy waffles, but just be prepared to go into town for breakfast. This is a nice hotel in general, but due to these things, I would probably choose a different hotel next time.

- 737eileenk (8/5): Lacking, but🙄 okay - Thought we lost it for a sec! According to the large wall clock in the lobby we were early. The clock was never reset for daylight saving time. 1st clue inattention to detail. Housekeeping lacking. Fronts of surfaces were dust free, but the back of the shelves and edges of the rooms were not dusted/vacuumed. Nightstand top and inside the drawer were soiled. Needed to be wiped down to be comfortable putting out our stuff. USB ports not a thing here; be sure to bring your own along with disinfecting wipes. The hot tub is not a thing here; apparently being out of service for nearly a year. Nobody knows how to remove this from the amenities list. Breakfast options meh… noisy halls, thin walls and slamming doors…. Yikes! Quieted down after 11p

- Josh (10/5): - Stayed for a family event. The front desk agent was friendly and answered my questions. She tried to charge me again for my stay, but I showed her I had already paid. It was a simple mistake. There’s a note by the front desk that says if you are going to pay by debit card, you will be charged double rate, and then in 3-10 business days you will get the difference. So be aware of that. The breakfast is amazing, and started the day off well.

Breakfast was hot and fresh and changed each day. Pool was warm and clean. No hot tub, but that's normal for most hotels I've been to in recent times. Our bathroom was big with the fluffy towels. The beds were comfortable with big fluffy pillows. Just an amazing stay. I definitely recommend staying here. Even used the washer and dryer which was just $2 for the 1 load.

- I3094TQcherylh (6/5): Breakfast could make or break this one - In looking for a room that had a separate bedroom this was the only one I could find in Thief River Falls Minnesota. For that I would rate it highly. The bed was comfortable and it was a quiet night of sleep. The couch was comfortable in the living room area and there was a fireplace as well. The view out the window was one of trees, not a lot of them but a few. The room appeared to need painting as it had a lot of chips here and there but that doesn't do too much to make the trip less than what you want. Probably what dropped them down a star was the breakfast which was a hot breakfast. It was very disorganized in how it was laid out and there were very few choices available. Just consider the fact that there was no water as an option and you had to go out into the lobby to get hot water to make oatmeal. There was one very overripe banana. Maybe don't put it out?? It is the worst hot breakfast we have had in a hotel/motel stay in the last 10 years which includes the Pandemic.

- Victoria (10/5): - Myself, my husband, and our 1 year old stayed in the extended stay King Room for a wedding this weekend. I was nervous prior to the stay about him crawling around on a hotel floor. When we got there I was happy to see how clean it was and we were able to let him explore and move around without worrying! The kitchenette in the room was so nice to have! The breakfast was nothing special, but enough to fill us. The pool was closed, which was disappointing, but over all we would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel!

- David (4/5): - I am ever so tired of properties that have broken amenities and make no mention of it or adjust their prices to reflect the lessened pleasure of staying at their place. And, hilariously, when asked to review this place they had a picture of their hot tub back in the good old days when it functioned. I rolled into Thief River Falls after hours of driving, weary and sore, and thinking how good a hot soak would be. Life is all about expectations, and when those expectations are dashed it's hard to think well of the institution that did not live up to their end of the bargain. We stayed in another Grandstay place the night before, and their place was lovely, but I won't stay here again

After we checked in we were then told the pool was down, had we known before checking in we would have went elsewhere. Then not even 5 minutes into getting in our room our 3yr old found someones medication on the floor in plain view. When we brought this up to the staff we were pretty much blown off like we were full of it. Then when we were ready to shower we noticed we had not soaps of any kind, and really no bath linens. The breakfast was cold, dry, and empty at 7am and when we asked if more would be coming out we got attitude. We had 5 kids with us that were hungry. We also asked about syrup and the lady rolled her eyes and went to the bathroom where she was on her phone for almost 15 minutes. Sadly we were not the only ones bringing things up to the lady at the front desk but she acted like we were saying everything was ok. The overnight guy was great though. He tried to help out as much as he could.

Our problem was the so called breakfast the only thing that was ok was a waffle everything else was cold and we went to breakfast at 7:15 the western omelet dish was empty and we were ready to leave by the time she brought in more and she had a very bad attitude when I asked her to refill it.

- Lucus (10/5): - The staff has always been accommodating and great knowledge on best places to eat.
- Jodi (10/5): - Grandstay Hotel Suites (2 Queen bed) was spacious with a good set up. I lreally liked the small upholstered chair with the Ottoman. Good options for breakfast, especially two of the three mornings.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Great room, I could stay a week. Same old motel coffee though. Keurig would be better suited for a room like this.
- Chanel (10/5): - Loved the Black Cat bar in walking distance along with a comfy bed and hot water for a nice relaxing bath!

- Jorge (10/5): Business trip stay - Highly Recommended - Exceptional business stay from Monday to Thursday! The staff was friendly, accommodating, and made my work trip seamless. Comfortable room, great service, and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

- Claudia (4/5): - In all light fixtures and in our room there where bugs. 2 lamps in our room didnt work. Pool was warmer then the hot tube. And they also dont do late check outs anymore (which is okay but sad)
