Guest Reviews
- Steve (8/5): - All of the rooms are smoking rooms. The first one that I walked into room 104 was just awful. It was a stench.
Second room better but still smoking odor
- German (10/5): - Good qualify for the price. Great hospitality at the front desk.
- Chief Joseph (10/5): - It is a very very amazing place, very clean, the services are very great and the overall environment is beautiful.
- Jesus (4/5): - Room was dirty overall. Bedding, towels, restrooms all had stains.
- Verified traveler (8/5): It's Okay - It's an old place and needs upgrading but for the price... it's okay.
- Eduardo (10/5): - Process very easy. I booked online and checking in was only a matter or showing ID and getting key. Check out simply turn in key. Room was clean, area is quiet
- terrypE5660FG (10/5): Great staff And very nice rooms.. - Hands down best Motel in Rosamond Ca the rooms are newly updated the management was super cool as well as there entire staff very accommodating and the price was very affordable next time we in Rosamond the Devonshire is the only place we will be staying thank you management and staff for such a pleasant stay..
- Andrew (4/5): - Gsgsgsg
- Julian (4/5): - Absolutely filthy room
- Renee (2/5): - The property in general is in disrepair. The concrete is uneven and dangerous. The shower/tub is cracked and needs replaced. The price was 2x what it should be for this property. The key system is the old fashioned house key type. However the staff is fine. 7
- Linda (8/5): - The staff was very nice and accommodating. The room, however, was outdated. Not as nice as the pictures
- tim (4/5): - Very poorly maintained and run down. The couch in the room was extremely stained. There was broken wiring enclosure directly above the shower head. Certainly not up to code. There was mold in sink and in shower
- Jose F. (2/5): Unimpressed - I could not see or hear the clerk on the other side of the drive through window when checking in @1:00pm. The exterior and interior conditions were underwhelming. Our event in town ended early, so we checked out @9:30pm (did not stay/did not disturb the room). When checking out, the window clerk asked “why” and not “is everything ok”.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Take the extra 15min drive to a better hotel! - Would never stay here again! I should have drove the extra 15 min for a nicer hotel. Everything about this is gross. The blankets are stained! The walls and bath tub have blood on them. Everything is just dirty.
- charvyance (4/5): - I would’ve given it three or four stars had I gotten the room I pay for the first time and there wasn’t a clogged shower on top of it. I only paid 40 bucks because I had credit so it was worth the 40 bucks but not more than that, a place to lay your head if I had an SUV I would’ve slept in the back instead The staff were very kind and worked quickly
- Christopher (10/5): - Room is clean, staff are friendly but located near a busy road.
- Barbara (2/5): - They have a wonderfui person on staff for maintenance. The housekeeper is surly at best. An older motel that hasn't improved much over the years.
- Cliff (4/5): - The person who checked me in was friendly, fast and competent. The bed was too soft, the fridge was noisy, the tub was stained, the shower water stayed cold. It was close to where I needed to be, but it was not a comfortable stay.
- Maurine (6/5): - You can tell the property is being worked on, new paint Etc it does need or a did need in our room a new toilet that replacement would make a big difference in that room. But at the end of the day there was a bed in a shower which is what I needed.
- Chuck (4/5): - An aging lady well past her prime, the Devonshire shows the effect of years of neglect. At least the bed was clean and the TV worked. The furnishings appeared to be salvaged from a thrift shop, a curious mix of garish and shabby.
For many years we've used this place as our favored budget hotel for track weekends, no more.
- Walter (4/5): Don’t go there - Old furniture, probably second hand. Semi clean. No hot water on third day. Broken handle on coffee pot
- JOHN (4/5): - The bathroom head exposed wiring hanging down, seemed like a rent by the month hotel, lots of people running around and up and down the stairs until 2:00 a m.
- natalie (8/5): - I did like staying there but we did find a roach in the bathroom and there was a stain on the bedsheets. But the place was good just for a night and the staff was very nice !!
- Ernesto (2/5): Don't recommend it - Staff was friendly bit the rooms smelled like cigarettes even though I got a non smoking one. The staff was nice and moved us to a different room but it still smelled. The bed sheets were stained and the shower wasn't the best. It was non refundable so we didn't even stay there and just ordered another room at the comfort inn. Night and day difference.
- Griselda (10/5): - The room was so nice and updated
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I booked a room with 2 beds, when I checked in, I was told the booking was for a single bed. The employee complained about the $14 commission hotels.com was charging and asked me to pay another $20 for 2 beds!
Room was dirty, toilet not very clean, noisy AC, noise from the street
- bernard (10/5): - A close place to stay when visiting Edwards air force base or willow springs race track.
- Fernando (6/5): - Nice staff, nice front desk service rooms not that clean and too many drunks sitting outside makes it a little uncomfortable.
- Shelita (6/5): - I'm a little disappointed because my favorite family isn't running the front office anymore. That family was real and kept this place functioning. I don't know what happened nor do I care, but this will be my last stay here. That family got this place together and then others get to come and reap the benefits. Awful 😞
- Dmytro (4/5): - This motel was awful. It was dirty everywhere. Seems like the place hasn’t been cleaned in years. There were roaches running around, the bathroom was filthy (toilets uncleaned, chunks of hair on the floor, dirty bath towels), and the reception desk was really bad too.
- Luis (6/5): - The property does not look like the photo’s shown.
- Shelita (10/5): - I just love staying here and the staff is on top of your every need. This is my place away from home.
- Emily (2/5): - Nastiest hotel ever. Trash in the room & cockroaches in the room
- Brian (6/5): For one night the price was right. - Bed was fine, and shower had hot water. A/C was noisy and and the room needed paint and new flooring. There was no additional TP and I had to fiddle the tv to get the cable input to work. But for the price it was comfortable enough for one night.
- bernard (10/5): - I stay there 3 times a year average because the willow springs racetrack is near by. Nice People, courteous.
- Michael (10/5): - Peaceful and clean good place to stop to get some rest
- Ramachandra (10/5): - The room was not well kept with bath room water keep dripping
- Shenequa (8/5): - Clean rooms nice friendly staff very accommodating
- Verified traveler (4/5): I have stayed in cheaper hotel with better accomo. - The tub was in bad shape, it really needs replacing, there was no cover in the bathroom fan and the fan didn't work, the tub faucet never stopped streaming water, the AC unit worked but had missing buttons, the receptionist was friendly but didn't share the wifi password. The minifridge worked good, the bed was ok, sheets were clean, no phone in the room to call front desk.
- Jessica (10/5): - Great staff really friendly and always helping out and very amazing rooms. Please stay at this hotel if you looking for a place to stay it's the best hotel in town
- Jessica (10/5): - This is the Best hotel to stay in it's quite and the manager is so nice and sweet.
- David (2/5): - It was dirty sheets were stained. Wanted 20 dollars cash for deposit. Reserved 1 queen bed but they didn't have any. Stay away from this place. Even for one night it was terrible
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not as advertised - Beware. This is not a hotel. It’s a roadside motel in very poor condition. The room itself was clean enough, however the shower did not drain, which left you standing in 6 inches of water in a matter of a couple minutes.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall, the stay was good as I was only staying the night. A couple issues were 1. My checkin stated 1 o'clock, but when I got there they said it was changed to 3 o'clock but I was never informed, 2. there was flys in the room and some stains on the sheets, but the staff were nice and when asked for a blanket and toilet paper, they brought it.
- Peter (10/5): - The staff and the accommodations are wonderful
- Peter (10/5): Same as before - It’s always great at this motel
- Peter (10/5): Wonderful - It’s always a comfortable stay here the lady and her husband who run the show are fantastic seriously I can not say enough good things about my stay here
- Peter (10/5): The 1 that matters - This is an older building but well maintained staff is nothing short of amazing and bedding and towels clean. No complaints here.
- Shelita (10/5): - I just love this hotel. I'm not staying anywhere else...
- Shelita (10/5): - I would stay again. Courteous and responsive staff. A cute and luxurious hideaway. I highly recommend this very affordable getaway.
- Luis (2/5): Bad hotel - There is no phone in the room for emergency call, the tv keeps turning off cause theres no remote for the tv the remote is for direct tv.the 2queen beds arent queen beds there full beds so is not as described, not worth the stay
- JOHN (4/5): - You get what you pay for. The tub was cracked and had stains, the bathroom light was exposed and hanging loose. Toilet clogged after any use. Tv didn't work and I was told it worked just fine. Had to pay a cash deposit for the room key. You have to run the shower for a minimum of 5 minutes before any hot water came out.
- Roger (2/5): - The place is just a mess. When you check in they ask for a cash key deposit, when you tell them just put it on the credit card, the answer is no, it has to be cash, that tells you what their clientele must be like. The rooms are a joke.
- Jerry Lee (2/5): - Terrable
- Rick (2/5): Refund misrepresentation by hotel .com and motel - The state was awful. It was misrepresentation, and I want to refund many of the lights didn’t work similar lights had broken wiring the bathroom shower had holes in it exhaust fan made loud noises. The air conditioning woke me up during the night with squealing noises TV didn’t work
This is misrepresentation, I will be calling please send me a refund my credit card
- Sparkle N (2/5): - This property looks nothing like the photos. A real case of FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. Our room was changed 3 times. 1st room 202 no light in bathroom, no towels, and most of all TV didn’t work after them trying to fix it for over 2 hours of back and forth getting parts as we sat down n the bed in the room be cause the sofa was very dirty white with stains all over. They finally offered us another room after they couldn’t get the TV working. Placed in Room 204 unpin walking it it smelled like death and had flies flying around. I attempted they attempted to spray the room which didn’t work. The shower rod was held together by duct tape. I proceeded to pull back the sheets yo check the bed because of the smell in the room and there were stains all over it. One looked like old blood that had been stains and multiple others I couldn’t even name if I wanted to. The bed and pillows smelled of urine and coffee. There were also flies flying around the room. I called Dow to tell them
I could not stay on this room in this condition and the smell made me want to vomit and I would not lay on that bed fully clothed. They then switched us to room 203 which was a could bed room, there was a hole at the bottom of the dirt so we could her the people who appeared to live there party all night, at this point it was about 3am and I was exhausted so we napped sitting up. There was no way we could sleep at this place. Would not recommend to my worst enemy and Expedia should not list this property.
- rhondapT5426WH (2/5): Prostitution Hotel - The absolute worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. If you’re looking for a prostitute this is the place. Unbelievably blatant about what was happening there. Pimps picked up the women in the morning. Horrible experience. Beware of the black Dodge Nitro that is parked so you can hit it. The vehicle is beat to crap with expired plates and beer cardboard holding up her driver window. She’ll ask you for $500, but if you ask her for her insurance information she’ll run to her room at the hotel. The owners of the hotel are aware of what is happening there.
- Julie (4/5): - Property needs additional maintenance and updating. Staff was kind and helpful. The grounds were clean and swept
- Paula (4/5): - Sketchy neighborhood. The top lock was not working.
- Irma (6/5): - It does not look NOTHING like in pictures! Rooms smell a lot like cigar!! Needs a gate to come In N Out one key open all rooms! That’s not safe!
- Evelyn (4/5): - Not happy my room smelled like cigarettes we had no remote for the tv their was blood stain on the blankets.
- John (2/5): The worst place ever stayed at to date.... - This place is in horrible condition, the front desk was far from happy as well. The place has many people living there and lots of broken down cars in the parking lot. The mirrors in the room are well, they may be used for something other than staying the night, .... Do not stay here, there is another town the other direction on the freeway, with a Comfort in, the few dollars difference will be worth it. I stay in some questionable places, this by far was the worse and I have stayed at a $14.95 a night place on the side of a freeway in the middle of no where in the past. That is how bad this place is.
- Aleta (2/5): - The smoke smell was so bad in the room I couldn’t relax all night. The property needs to be bulldozed.
- Anne (4/5): - This cheap motel looks better in photos than in reality. The bed was clean and comfortable, but there were no vessels to drink water from, the shower did not function in one of the two units we occupied, and both rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. The property is clearly used to house long-term tennants, one of whom had a pitbull and loud motorbike. Dodgy.
- Erminia (10/5): - Quick sevice
- david (2/5): - There was 1/2" of standing water in the bathroom and the laminate floor was flooded. It was definitely not the best conditions to stay in.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Late checkin as room wasn’t ready. Hotel is old and not well maintained. People were friendly but I would not stay here again.
- Ron (2/5): - Horrible disgusting property. A full on drug motel full of people living there full time. Bugs and mold all over the walls. Absolutely disgusting
- Dave (2/5): More like a meth hotel than anything….stay away! - Disgusting location looked more like a meth sale lot than a hotel. Staff couldn’t be bothered to even come to the locked-up front office to check me in, and as I looked around the location I saw a car with its windows smashed out, filthy premises, and ‘tenants’ hanging outside their front doors for some reason, total ghetto and totally awful. I immediately booked elsewhere, and was only able to get a two night refund on a three night prepaid stay.
- Christian (6/5): - Toilet water wouldn’t stop running making noise after flushing and it was all night
- Yadira (2/5): - My room wasn’t ready there was no water no and very dirty not safe at all
- Kenneth (8/5): Best only place in town. - It is the best hotel in town and I stay often. On this visit No one in the office when we arrived. The press for service button was broken and had fallen off. We called the service number and someone was dispatched to the office. When she arrived she did not have our reservation and we had to dig and argue to find the confirmation numbers. There was a homeless man outside of the room the entire night. There are cigarette burns in the bedding and all in the bathroom tubs. I felt it was decent for the location but the price is a little high for a 2-star hotel.
- Theo (6/5): - Fair, not sure if wanna stay there again. It was clean but missing light bulbs, shower would leak into the floor, noisy neighbors, but people were friendly. Kind of expected for that kinda area and neighborhood
- Janet (6/5): - The stay was ok location good hotel could use some upgrade in rooms early in the wee hours of the morning arguing very loud yelling
- Julie (6/5): - Not the best but ok for the price. Easy check in
- Verified traveler (2/5): No one at front office. Couldn't check in. - Nobody at the office to check in. Went to another hotel instead. Waste of time.
- Gina (4/5): - Quiet at night. Heater was not working & it snowed that night which is rare for this area. Then the ceiling started to leak water over the restroom when the guest above took a shower. Must have been leaky pipe but manager promptly put a bucket under the leak & the guest above turned off water. It stopped leaking & l was able to sleep the rest of night. I left the next morning.
- Peter (6/5): - Cheap and good value for money but Basically you get what pay for.
- Barbara (4/5): Not as advertised - We booked a room that should’ve had 2 queen beds but the beds were 2 doubles. The bedside table with lamp and plug in outlets was unplugged and we had to reach around a bed to plug it in. Couldn’t go under the bed. Broken TP holder - a hole in the bathroom wall where it should have been. Bathroom fan broken. Marcy the woman who checked us in was sweet and gave us her phone number in case we needed something. We didn’t ask her for different beds/room. Adequate supplies and the room was clean. Empty tissue box.
- Janet (8/5): - The room was very clean the only thing is the tv kept going out of service the repair person came and fixed it but then it went out again
Over all was nice
- Jerald (2/5): - Lots of bums
- Jason (2/5): - The price was low, so you expect a few things to be off. What I found unacceptable for the price are the following:
Dead bolt to room does not work, Toilet does not flush, Shower did not drain. the other stuff: shoddy carpentry, excessive Lysol smell, early 70's era decor, uncomfortable bed, missing light switch covers, leaking faucet, broken stair, just say that the management is just riding the property until it is condemned. Left after the first night and went to Lancaster slept much better there.
- Marcelo (10/5): - Willingness to help and make my stay very confortable.
Things to improve: better hand soup and toilet paper.
The area is awful.
- Tom (4/5): - holes in the room walls, graffitti in room, unusable table, no non-smoking rooms available despite request and payment.
- Mike (6/5): - I liked that the room was quiet, bed and pillows were comfortable. Did not like slow check-in, some furniture in room was broken, TV didn't work, fridge not cold when I arrived (not plugged in).
- Zeus (4/5): - No towels in the room, bloody napkins in the closet, only a top sheet on the bed, no blanket
- Tim (4/5): - Poor location, unkept property, dirty room, broken furniture, but receptionist seemed nice.
- Traci (2/5): - Room wasn’t ready when I arrived. The sheets were stained and floor was wet when I walked in. Was not worth what I ended up paying.
- Miguel (6/5): - out dated look, felt like I was in a porn movie, beds are nice slept good, good cable, but remote didn't work properly, need better towels, price was fair,
- BRIAN (2/5): - The pictures must be from a different hotel. Room was dirty. Sink faucet didn't work. Shower only had really cold water
- James (8/5): - The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home, the pillows too.
- lee (6/5): - TV did not work - asked for help twice, no one came
No cream/sugar for coffee
I believe they advertised, and I wanted two queen size beds - they were only double size. One of my two adult sons chose to rent his own room to get his own bed..un-expected extra $91 cost to stay
- Greig (2/5): - If you dont have a car to sleep in, then this might be for you. Probably ok back in the 70s. Shower rail broken TP holder broken, bathroom door broken. Light switches brocken, no cover on smoke detector wiring. Out side steps to second level broken. Totally shady dump. Will not be back. Oh, room recked of pine sol. Nasty!
- Stephen (8/5): - It looks like the property is getting behind on their maintenance.
- Jaya (8/5): - We stayed here to go to Streets of Willow the next day. Location is super convenient. Staff was friendly. Place seems a bit sketchy but it worked for our purpose.
- Scott (8/5): 3 days at the Devonshire Inn in LANCASTER CA - Bed was tight and clean, bathroom was perfect. But I did find a 14 inch HAIR on my hand towel ON THE RACK. That was gross. BUT HEY, what can you do about that......GREAT STAY!!!!
AC and TV REMOTE was 5 STARS!!!
- Danny V (6/5): - Lighting was strange. I had to move the floor lamp, by the couch, to push the foot switch, to turn the lamp on. I had to unplug the TV to use the coffee maker. The SMOKE DETECTOR was hanging off of the wall.
- Mark (6/5): good enough to go back for a short stay - cable tv was not plugged in nor programmed. Desk wasn't any help. I had to do the connection and programming myself. Picture from the wall was on top of the table. USB charging port on the night stand didn't work. Room was clean and comfortable though. Microwave couldn't be plugged in but the refrigerator was very cold. Room didn't get cleaned or restocked so on my second day I didn't have clean towels or coffee refills. But overall it was what I expected. I'd stay there again but with a little better preparation now that I know what to expect.
- Delano (6/5): Room was so so - Last minute booking room had a lot of flies and gnats, look like creak heads in parking lot no Security
- Frederick (4/5): - This property lacks care. Room wasn't clean, had no trash can, had coffee pot but no cups or coffee. TV remote didn't control TV. Light switch/fan switch had no face plate. Telephone was not connected to wall. Fridge and TV worked, bed was adequate, sheets were clean.
