Guest Reviews
- Greg (8/5): - Property was clean and office staff were great. We had issue where we booked thru Expedia for a two room cabin however somewhere there was a mix up and we ended up having to take the cottage. The cottage was fine overall, bathroom was small. It was raining so once we moved into the cottage when we checked in after office hours we elected to stay vs moving our things in the rain once a cabin was available. Overall it was wasn’t a big issue and worked out for the better I think.
- Pamela (10/5): - Clean room very quiet area
- Melanie (10/5): - We enjoyed our time with you guys. Got to reunite with my daughters and we had a blast! Thanks for all you did for us while we were there!
- Khristi (10/5): - The cabins were a little small so next time we hope to get the larger ones
- John (6/5): - Cabins done on a shoestring. Furnishings and supplies were all done at a bare minimum. Be aware that you need to bring your own sheets, towels, paper products. Bring a citronella candle for the very uncomfortable porch furniture. Make sure you wear shoes or you’re going to get a splinter. Pool was just okay. Front desk folks were very nice. Won’t be going back again.
- Miriam (10/5): Excellent stay - Loved the property, the cabin we stayed in was very nice. The cabin was cleaned. Parking was conveniently located in front of the cabin. We had a chance to go on a nature walk around the property. The pool is very nice, we had a chance to go swimming a few times. The staff at the front desk was very friendly. I will definitely stay at this property agai .
- Christina (10/5): - This was a wonderful property The cabin was amazing The pool was spectacular and very clean the game room was nice and our neighbors were very sweet in the cabin next to us
- Diana (8/5): - Nature trails
- Lauren (10/5): - Excellent location! Very clean!
- Pauline (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Love this place ❤️
- Rebecca (8/5): - The large cabins are very spacious. But there is no bath mat or kitchen or hand towels. The cabin views look into the woods...beautiful!
- Debi (10/5): Great camping feeling - Visiting family in Williamsburg and stayed here. The Large Cabin was perfect and it’s in a location with woods behind it, so it has a true camping feeling. My kids came to visit and we had a fire, toasted marshmallows and perfect for my bulldog to be at, too.
- Mari (10/5): - Excellent property for our trip with pets. We have tried staying in traditional hotel rooms but our dogs hear every little sound and they bark. I had not considered a cabin before. So glad it popped up as a suggestion on Expedia! I can highly recommend this campground and their cabins. The 2 bedroom cabin that we rented was perfect for my husband, me and our college student plus our dogs. The cabin was nicely furnished and very clean. (Please note that you do have to bring your own linens. That wasn't a deal breaker for us since we could bring our dogs and not worry about them barking and bothering other guests.) The kitchen was tiny but had dishes, and some pots and pans. We definitely plan to stay here again.
- Bonnie (10/5): - Very clean cabin. Big problem is that we did not realize, based on Expedia website, that linens and towels were not included. Luckily, there was a Walmart nearby and we were able to purchase the basics.
Later, I did see that an email had been sent to us stating linens were not included, but I missed the email. It would have been helpful to have that noted in big print on Expedia when booking the cabin.
- Adam (10/5): - Quiet and not far from amenities. Cabins was better than any motel to me. It had a nice porch with table and a grill. Bring your own linens as those aren’t furnished. Pet friendly.
- Paula (8/5): - We stayed 5 nights in a 2 bedroom cabin and enjoyed our stay for the most part. The cabin was clean. Window AC in both main area and the queen bedroom kept us nice and cool. The only drawback was everything felt damp if we ran them lower than 72° or so and at night I like it colder than that. Also a bit of a damp smell. A couple of light bulbs were out upon arrival and the campground sent maintenance out to replace them promptly. The tvs had lots of cable channels but only a few were really watchable because they were so grainy. Luckily my favorite HGTV was one that came in pretty clear. The pool was nice. We hiked the couple of nature trails on the property and enjoyed that. We were disappointed in the arcade because out of 8 games only 4 worked. Two had out of order signs and the other two got our quarters the first time trying to play them. The laundry room was large and clean and i had no trouble washing and drying a load of laundry. The load cost $2.75 to wash and $2.25 to dry. The store looked well stocked but we didn't buy anything from there. The kids played basketball on their basketball court and rode their bikes around the campground. I felt that it was a safe area for them to do so unattended (ages 10, 12 & 13 boys). I would stay here again and recommend them to others.
- Russell (10/5): - Allaround great park and staff
- Kelli (10/5): - Highly recommend this campground
- Mary (10/5): - Nature trail and woods surrounded the campground
- William (10/5): - What a great RV Park! Beautiful, clean and friendly people! Close to everything. We will be back. Thank you all!
- Yolanda (10/5): - It was quiet, everyone was friendly. The cabin was clean and roomy. It was a nice get a way.
- Joyce (10/5): - Cabin was really nice
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect - My son and I came for a soccer tournament and it was a great place to relax between games. The cabin was quaint but exactly what we needed without the fuss and distractions of a hotel.
- Debbie (10/5): - Great place for two night stay while touring Williamsburg.
- Francesco (6/5): - I was not impressed with the cabin. Bathroom can use a privacy lock and an elongated toilet bowl to make a bit more man friendly. For added sense of security, an interior only bolt lock can be added to the front door since the only one in place is the keyed deadbolt. There's absolutely no storage space in the cabin and we were forced to live out of our luggage. A solution maybe to convert the bunkbeds room into a closet, simply remove the beds and build shelves, and replace the sofa with a sofa bed. Parking area by the cabin is completely dark in the night ours. This made it difficult when we cameback late, this felt unsafe. Maybe a motion sensor light can be added to the corner of the cabin before reaching the steps. We're not sure why the cabin entrance is facing the woods, maybe for privacy, but this was not to our liking. It gave us a sense of disconnect with the rest of the camp's sense of community. We were given a list of charges that can be applied if we had damaged the cabin and yet we found the blind in the bunkbeds room was broken. When i reported this to the office the response was " That's strange". This was not appreciated. I felt as it was implying that we had broken the blind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Family trip - The cabin wasnt to bad i was disappoited with the shower and the grill was not good no fire pit like in the ad
- Charles (10/5): - Nice spot
- Jeanette (8/5): Cozy little cabin - Initially I was disappointed that the “medium size” cabin was much smaller than I thought and did not look at all like the picture on Hotels.com (which was the picture that was emailed to me with my confirmation and was actually a picture of a large cabin). It was literally a room with beds - no chairs, table, or kitchen. The small mirror in the bathroom was so high that I could only see the top of my forehead! I honestly felt a bit misled. I also wished that there was mention that you needed to bring your own coffee and cups, as there was only a coffee maker with filters. However, the next day I spoke with a very nice lady in the office about it, and she offered us an available large cabin to move to for the second night for a $30 upgrade. It was lovely, and was well worth the upgrade. The remainder of our trip was quite pleasant. The cabin was so cute and cozy and just the right size with everything we needed. I absolutely loved the back deck overlooking some beautiful woods. It felt fairly private in the back. I would definitely recommend the large cabin!
- Jennifer (8/5): - Nice and quiet and clean. My only gripe is lack of amenities in the large cabin. The website says you need linens for the bedrooms (i brought sheets), however, this also meant no bedspread and no towels in the bathroom. The kitchen only had one small suace pan, a small frying pan, and a large skillet. There are plates and utensils, but you need to bring a large pot, a cutting knife, cutting board, can opener and vegetable peeler(if you have a need for it). I have no complaints otherwise and would have had no issue supplying that if i knew i needed it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place.. - Great people, place was spotless. Cabin was well equiped.. we didn't bring linens but management was kind enough to supply them for us..wifi needs some work..bad signal
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cabin was very clean and everything worked. The office is only open until 7, which wasn’t on the website or communicated on how to check in after hours
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin. It was clean with a nice living room/kitchen combo. Master bedroom was comfortable. Second bedroom was very small like bunk beds in a closet with no ac. If you left the door open it was ok, but closed it was hot. I’d definitely use hem again. Maybe bring a fan to blow more air in the smaller room.
- angela (8/5): - Nice place to stay. Peaceful. Near shopping and food.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There were only a few things i didnt like. 1. The bunkbed room had no place to hang or put clothes.
2. The bunkbed room had no A/C. Had to go to Walmart to get my daughter a fan that we han to put on a kitchen chair because there was no furniture in the room other than the beds.
3. The stove was a small 2 burner electric stove. Could only fit one pan.at a time on.
4. Could not get a good WiFi connection at the cabin.
Other than those 4 minor issues everything else was great.
- Michelle (10/5): Nice place to camp with family - The place is nice and clean. No over the top amenities but perfect for camping with a dog and kids.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice little cabin very clean peaceful loved the trail will be back again soon
- J.Walsh (10/5): - We love the way the sites weere clean yet still in the woods.
- Joe (8/5): - We were there for a little family get together. Everything went smoothly on our rental but my son’s rental did not go as plan. Unfortunately the booking dates didn’t match up with the confirmation email that they received or needed. The staff put them in another one that was not equipped as they needed. I’m pretty sure they booked directly with the staff for America heritage.
- Weekend-Getaway (6/5): - We had a large cabin, but not worth $150.00...the only thing supplied was a half roll of toilet paper, a few kitchen trash bags, and dish soap. The water in the kitchen and the bathroom smelled like sewage every time the water was turned on. The pool had hair in the water along with other debris and the mini golf needs to be repaired/replaced...the green carpet is in very bad shape and weeds were growing out of the hole where the ball drops. The arcade is VERY small. And the AC units in the cabin blew out air that smelled like mildew. The parking could have better options for Cabin 8 as the tenants in Cabin 9 like to take the whole spot and then you have to park in front of Cabin 9, but Cabin 8 has a very nice view of the trees...the deck is lovely to sit out on. No fire pit option really for Cabin 8, but we were okay with that. The shower head fell off, but they responded pretty quickly and the maintenance guy "Charlie" was very friendly. Customer service at the front desk is very nice, also. Family owned. Golf cart is $50/day...a little too pricey we felt. All-in-all, we enjoyed our family time together as it was much needed. Just some things that American Heritage could improve on.
- BEN (10/5): - VERY NICE ROOM FOR US. WE ENJOYED OUR STAY. WE WERE VERY COMFORTABLE.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a great time/ Memorial Weekend ,and we recommend this place to anyone.
- Tina (4/5): - I'm not sure if it was a hotels.com error or American Heritage RV Park error. I was led to believe that I had a queen bedroom and a twin bunk bedroom with a full kitchen, living room with a pull out sofa and bathroom. Upon arrival on a Thursday evening for a (3) night stay, I was given (2) remote channel pages as the lady up front said you have (2) tv's, one in living room one in the bedroom (accurately describing the large cabin that I was expecting). I walked into the cabin to find 1 queen and 1 set of bunk beds, 1 tv, a mini fridge and mini microwave all in the SAME small room & a separate bathroom. I was devastated, & told that I booked a "medium" cabin. I had local guests from Williamsburg coming for dinner that night, we had to rearrange other spare time over the weekend to stay out and about as the cabin was extremely small and uncomfortable (it was a my daughters wedding weekend at a venue that was about 15 minutes from the RV park). Fortunately it only affected me the worst on Thursday night, when local residents were planning to visit. On Sunday morning, I had to drive people staying with me to Richmond and asked about a late checkout (it was highlighted as an option upon availability on the paperwork) they charged $20.00 but I had no choice as I couldn't get checked out in time.
- Sherry (10/5): Great stay - Very nice and cute cabin, clean, beds were comfortable. Definitely plan to come back again in the near future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our cabin was beautiful, very clean, and very comfortable. The campground is lovely and the staff is very friendly! We would absolutley stay here again! We didnt get a chance to use the pool but it looked really nice, didnt see a hippo waterslide.
- Bell (8/5): - I really enjoyed my stay here in the large cabins. The water had a slight sulfur smell and the filters in the air conditioner were both due for a change. From how nice they were, i'm sure they wouldve changed the filters if i notified them immediately but i hadn't realized. Overall great trip and i will be visiting agail
- Janelle (10/5): - It was very nice. Very clean and quiet. The propriety is very nice. Lots of things to keep kids busy.
- Cheryl (6/5): - Very nice campground overall but mattresses on all 3 beds in the medium cabin were terrible and the picnic table for our cabin was in need of cleaning/painting. Would like to stay again if sleeping was better
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent - Bed wasn’t very comfortable and we had to bring our own linens. Cabin was clean and well kept. Fine for us as we only stayed one night.
- Maria (10/5): - I love my visit, my husband and I want to buy an RV and want it to see the area and how is like. I was so exited whe I saw my cabin. I felt like a little girl and my dogs love it too. We went walking to the trails and it was so nice. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. The only thing, was, I didn’t know that you should bring your own sheets, but we went to Walmart and resolve the problem and I think you could add a linen package too. I didn’t wanted to leave, I can’t wait to come back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not what I had expected from photos - It was an ok place to stay. Awful expensive when you have to provide everything. The cabins feel like they are just thrown in at randomly spots at the back of the rv Park. Will not go back there again
- Brent (10/5): Great Stay! - Nice clean and quietcampground with helpful staff in a convent location to local attractions. We rented a nice clean cabin. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok Stay - Cleanliness of the cabin was mediocre; beds extremely uncomfortable; worst part - every time we flushed the toilet an unpleasant odor unveiled...looking into it the sewer drain was right out front of the cabin.
- McMom (10/5): Beautiful Property - Beautiful grounds, clean, spacious, quiet. Playground for kids and a fully fenced in dog run. Wonderful stay!
- Lee (8/5): Nice clean cabin - My family of 4 stayed in one of their large cabins. There was 2 bedrooms . Our bedroom was a decent size (queen bed) and the other bedroom was small but adequate (bunk beds). The place was clean and it had a kitchen and small living room and small bathroom. We enjoyed it. The only negatives were that the kitchen was not well furnished and the WiFi signal was often weak but we would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A great surprise! - My wife and 2 dogs spent the Christmas weekend in a large cabin. Had everything we needed and room to run for the dogs who enjoyed the nature trail as well. Just a few minutes from everything around Williamsburg. We will be returning!
- melissa (10/5): Nice cabins - Wonderful place to stay! Very clean cozy and quite and the staff were very friendly!!
- Daniell (10/5): Weekend trip with pups - Went for my husbands birthday and traveling with two dogs so this was perfect. We stayed in Medium cabin. Small but cozy. Very clean. Just remember you are still at a campground, not a fancy resort. Great location and nice helpful staff. Easy Uber ride to Busch Gardens and Historic Williamsburg.
- Gloria (10/5): Better than a hotel! - We stayed in a large cabin and loved it! It was very clean, had dishes, utensils and coffeemaker in the small but complete kitchen. Our front deck faced the woods and the location was quiet and lovely! Dog-friendly cabins are available.
- Nancy (10/5): Good - It was fine....we would stay there again.
