Guest Reviews
- Mat (6/5): 7 days at motel. - Breakfast is ok. Sausage, egg plantain and apple witht tea or coffee.
All the staff were great, no course for concern and always willing to assist.
However, the rooms c were dated and needed fresh paint. Also rooms were worst than others
For the amount charged, when compared to travelodge also a 3 star, this is far worst. Frankly speaking it is not worth 50 dollars per night.
Distance is good to the lumley town.
- Donald (6/5): - The location was good with adequate parking. The furniture was dated and broken shower fittings and toilet seat
- George (10/5): - Awesome
- George (10/5): - Great
- Brent (10/5): - Easy access, helpful staff abd management
- Christopha (8/5): - We were welcomed very well at this hotel and they allowed us to enter the room before check-in time. The room was clean and basically equipped.Great about the property was the friendly staff.Everybody was very friendly.A young man named Abubaker helped us to get to know the area better and assisted us very well with finding good places for food and a good pharmacy. We were also happy about the every day breakfast that was brought to our rooms. The wifi and basic electricity worked well enough to work online.Even though the location is far from the sea and very busy we stayed longer than expected.
- George (10/5): - Staff was friendly and I enjoy my stay
- Paul (10/5): - Absolutely amazing
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent staff, management and well located. More improvement observed
- mohamed (10/5): - Getting my money's worth
- Bridgette (2/5): - The picture look nothing like it and tv never work in the room, receptionist kept saying they gonna come fix it and never did and never give me a discount the WiFi sucks. I won’t be staying here anymore
- H. (6/5): - Located at a very good site but online pictures are deceiving. Not clean enough, pillows are unwashed, couch is super dirty, bathroom regrettable with old over used towels, no soap. With the prevalence of mosquitos in the area, one would at least expect mosquito nets but they use sprays which only last few hours before mosquitos invade again.
- Christel (6/5): - Positive: stable WIFI, a decent breakfast and the friendly staff at the reception.
Negative: absolutely worn out furniture and poorly maintained rooms, not very clean (there was a mouse in my room), very noisy.
- ajay (2/5): - Dirty towels, dirty sheets, dorts pillows, dirty room, phone wasnt even plugged in and was disconnected.
This room was an apparent upgrade as well !
Probably worth $5 a night only.
Pictures make it look better than it is.
If you check the reviews many are fake by someone called Paul. No normal neutral person would give this place full marks.
Avoid ! Better to get a $10 a night place. At least you know what to expect
- Paul (10/5): - The bell given by Mo, the owner, was outstanding. He went out of his way to make everything smooth for us and nothing was too much trouble. The other staff were friendly and helpful. World definitely recommend
- Verified traveler (4/5): Misleading / False Advertising - Absolutely disappointing - the photos online DO NOT match the room (in fact, they may be stock photos or a different hotel). My room was old, run down, with an unclean couch, and dozens of mosquitos, as they enter through a window in the bathroom that cannot be closed (rusted and warped). The only thing good was the air conditioner. The bed was very hard, and the pillows and bedding were quite dirty. Overall, a poor stay, and sad that the hotel is using fake photos.
- Momodu Bah (8/5): - Great hospitality.
- Israel (6/5): - Beddings are old and not comfortable.
Breakfast not ready in time.
On the good side, the staff are friendly.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely
- Paul (10/5): - Brilliant and lonely
- Paul (10/5): - Nice place and friendly
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent at the Metro
- Marceline (4/5): - Poor conditions, noisy sometimes many works needs to be done
- Umaru (4/5): - They don't give me the room i pay for ..no good internet...only the house keeper are very good...air cold don't work good
- Michael B. (6/5): Staying at Metrol Hotel - Generally, my stay was okay. The internet, and electricity was good. Breakfast was not good. It was like oil used for frying other stuff was repeatedly used. They can introduce some basic cereal, like weetabix, oatmeal, brown bread. Cleanliness was okay, but could be done better. The towels were old and horrible. Cleaning staff had no place to take lunch and so had to use the stairwell, causing movements and privacy to sometimes be a challenge. Reception staff are generally helpful. They have a good tips that would help you move around. The hotel is in proximity of an African restaurant, a cafe, and not far from the beach.
- Samuel (4/5): - Very bad
- Umaru (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Metro Hotel Executive Suite was a filthy room without towels, soap, shower curtains with a dropping curtain that streamed in light and prevented me from sleeping. I checked out after the first of what was meant to be a 6 night stay. Metro Hotel agreed and promised to refund me for the remaining 5 nights only to then refuse to refund me.
- Darlington G (6/5): Metro hotel review - The breakfast was okay, room was clean and nice. However, there were lots of mosquito and the Air-condition was not cooling. I was transferred to another room after I complained, but same problem.
- doreen (8/5): Great air con on a very hot day. - It did say free shuttle but at 3.30am i had to get the reception boy to find me a tuk tuk to the ferry which i paid for.
- Ebrima (8/5): - The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. Of special mention here will be the young man, called Saidu. The manager too was very considerate and nice when I wanted an upgrade. I'll stay there again and will book for my staff when they go to work in Freetown.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent services rendered to me by friendly staff.I was overwhelmed with the type of services that I received throughout my staying at this property. It is actually a pretty and good place to stay and have a peace of mind
- Verified traveler (6/5): - They need to improve in their customer services, maintained the property and other necessities.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I liked the cleanliness and the staff being polite BUT the place is not a hotel - maybe a back packer, low level B&B and certainly not worth the price - 30USD or less will be indicative if the class of accommodation it is in. Charging close to 60USD is really not right.I have pictures showing the rooms
- Gerald (8/5): Hôtel propre assez bien situé. - Très grande chambre, avec mini-frigo, clim., bon WiFi, s.d.b.- wc. Petit déjeuner acceptable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly staff
Poor location
No restaurant, even nearby
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good place and nice lication
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, good clean room, excellent wifi and air conditioning. No food available at the hotel but plenty of takeaways and supermarket nearby.
- MENELAOS (10/5): Ευχαριστουμε !! - πολυ καλη εμπειρια !!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Friendly and clean - Friendly staff and clean rooms and facilities. Recommended
- Cecilie (8/5): Clean and friendly - Clean facilities and friendly staff. Recommended
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The overall condition and there is always staff at hand ready to assist. I like the location also.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I stay in hotels several times a week and this is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The room was dirty, bathroom was dirty, and the room they moved me to, the sink leaked.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Convenient location, good for long stay - The hotel is very conveniently located - bank across the street, supermarket, and two good restaurants. It is a good choice for someone with a built-in infrastructure, i.e., driver, but the staff would be less able to help a first-time traveler or solo traveler. The only staff member who was attentive was the woman at reception. Though I was assured of airport pickup there was no one to meet me at the ferry terminal, for example. The room in the photo is the suite, if you book the standard room there may not be a desk but you will pay extra for the suite in case you need to budget. I felt like I had to ask for many things - the wifi was not working for a week and then there was construction on my room. The manager is nice but the staff need more training.
- Paul (10/5): Excellent - Excellent friendly venue to stay with very helpful staff available 24/7. I've been 3 times and always feeling welcome and well supported.
The Hotel has incredibly services to and from the Airport and whilst at the Hotel.
Great location with easy access to the hotspots in and around the City of Freetown; these include easy access to the Beaches, Night Clubs, City Centre etc
- A.D (8/5): Nice location - Very efficient staffs. Always ready to help. Noting else...I had a relaxing time
- Assad (8/5): Hospitality - I arrived very late at the hotel, but the night staff took care of me and even found food. My room wasn’t in perfect condition so the owner upgraded me to their best suite. I really appreciated all the efforts of the staff to make you comfortable
- Guy (10/5): My trip to Sierra Leone - I had a great time staying at the Metro hotel in Wilkinson Road. The owner and staff were pleasant and respectful to me. I intend to stay there in my next trip to Sierra Leone.
Great job!
Guy
- Sam (6/5): Service - You have to ask Staff for most thing such as:
Facilities are ok. Bed linen not very clean. No tables and chair in my room to sit and write or read.
Inadequate TV channels.
No Tea / coffee making facility for guest to use in rooms.
Staff could not contact Hotel Manager to address concerns from guest.
Poor experience overall for the money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Günstige Lage, afrikanische Mittelklasse - Leider Restaurant nicht mehr in Betrieb, aber Alternativen in der Umgebung.
Teilweise kein warmes Wasser. Einfache aber ausreichende Ausstattung.
- Valentina (8/5): Friendly, basic and clean - The hotel is well situated near the city centre and the staff are super friendly. The accomodations are pretty basic, but the rooms are kept clean. There was a strong presence of mold in one room, but it is rainy season and the staff gladly moved me to another room as soon as I asked. Breakfast was simple but tasty and they were accommodating to my vegetarian dietary requirements.
- ERNEST (8/5): Pleasant and friendly attendants - Great location, stay was comfortable and nice.
- ruth (6/5): Average - The photo isn't an accurate representation of the hotel rooms. That is the suite . The rooms have been renovated but are average. Falling apart already . Good cafe across the road . The hotel only has breakfast and drinks . Wifi was ok . Generator is on so try and take a back room which gives a good mt view
- James (8/5): Clean and Nice - Hotel has just completed renovations so everything is new. Only negatives are there are no dining facilities. If you arrive at night you're out of luck as you cannot even get drinking water. There are restaurants outside and a supermarket down the street. There are plans for a dining establishment.
- birgitta (8/5): Mycket bra service i reception - Trevlig personal i reception.Fungerande pick up vid båt till hotellet.
