Guest Reviews
- Noemi Binda (10/5): Best place to stay in Caister - What a surprise. The best hotel we stayed in in Norfolk. The room is spacious and has everything you could need, hairdryer, drawers and plenty of space to hang your clothes. A fridge, kettle, hot chocolate, coffee and tea.
They provide towels for the health club.
The gym, pool and jacuzzi are fabulous and spotlessly clean. Sun loungers for relaxing.
We slept very well; the bed is super comfortable.
The best breakfast we’ve had so far, with plenty of options and cooked to order.
Free parking and lift.
The staff were polite and attentive. Nothing
- Danielle & Roger Paul (8/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Excellent stay the spa was just what we needed ! - Clean and excellent staff
- Trisha (8/5): - Friendly staff, large room with huge bed, food very good, The smell from the swimming pool and spa, was quite strong.
- Timothy (9/5): Couldn’t fault it at all, breakfast was to die for and had lovely nights sleep. - Location, swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Rainwater shower didn’t work.
- Paul (5/5): -
- John (9/5): -
- Tina (9/5): - Comfy beds, location, parking.
Breakfast great. Staff friendly. Bathroom could do with cheering up. Grout and general appearance.
- Alessandro (10/5): Amazing - Room, Spa, Restaurant More accessories in the bathroom
- Gavin (10/5): -
- Kate (10/5): - Very helpful and friendly staff.
Very clean.
Great service.
- Rachel (9/5): Very comfortable one night stay whilst walking the Norfolk Coast Path. - Despite the name 'Old Hall' - the hotel was pretty modern, bright and spacious.
We stayed here in a twin room on our penultimate night of walking the coast path. It's in a good location - just a short 10 minute walk to the beach.
Our room was bright, spacious and clean, with aircon. Despite it being on a main road & having a busy pub and restaurant attached, our bedroom was quiet and a good night's sleep was enjoyed.
Decent bathroom with a powerful shower.
We ate dinner and breakfast at the adjoining restaurant. Good choices and good service.
The use of the well-equipped onsite leisure centre was welcome, although unfortunately it closed at 6pm (Sunday evening). Leisure Centre closing time.
- Leigh (10/5): Lovely will be coming again and food was delicious - The swimming pool Nothing
- IAN (8/5): -
- April (9/5): -
- Vieira (10/5): - Room really clean, staff really polite and the food was amazing.
- SGarwoo (10/5): Excellent stay - Everything! Lovely pool and spa area, very clean and well looked after, great food with an exceptional breakfast cooked to order, lovely decor in room and throughout the hotel. Would definitely recommend. Great location too, just a short walk to the beach. Slightly hard mattress for us but a mattress topper would have easily improved it.
- martin (10/5): We choose to stay for one night to make use of the spa facilities which were great and the rest of our stay matched. The - Lovely hotel great facilities and the room was clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all super friendly and the cook to order breakfast was amazing. Nothing
- Dave Buckley (3/5): Disappointing, poor service from a member of staff and very expensive for what we received - The room was nicely sized and clean. Parking was ok but would be a problem at weekends with the spa, the restaurant, and hotels guests vying for spaces. The food, when it finally arrived was good. I was only told about the noise in the courtyard from music two days before I arrived. If you don't want loud music outside your room, this isn't the hotel for you. The service we received at breakfast was appalling, the staff member treated us like idiots and it took nearly 15 minutes for her to take our order. There were only six people in the restaurant. The TV didn't work and when we asked the staff in the restaurant to see if they could do anything about it, they told us we would have to wait until 9.00am for someone on reception. We explained we were staying another night and would be leaving for the day by 9.00am. We got a shrug. When we returned the TV hadn't been fixed and decided we had enough of the poor service and left the hotel. Very disappointing and would not recommend a visit here.
- Isabelle (9/5): -
- Brian (7/5): For a two night stay it’s was suitable for our needs - Close to the area we wanted to be in….reasonably priced The room wasn’t very clean… the bathroom door mouldings was covered with dust and the toilets on the ground floor behind the bar were very dirty
- shields (8/5): Nice Hotel - Hotel was lovely...clean and tidy....
Breakfast was to perfect...
Staff were all amazing.. Big football screen.....nowhere peaceful outside to sit...
Beds were a bit firm, but slept ok.
- Jon (9/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): -
- June (8/5): It’s been our 4th time here and there will be many more - Very clean, staff were very helpful, breakfast is amazing We had to change our room as toilet didn’t flush properly but the staff were do good and changed us straight away
- Zoe Friar (7/5): Location great for coastal path and bus connections but spend your money elsewhere - The room was big, the bed comfy, the staff also run bar work so service was poor but that's not their fault, that's poor management. Unfortunately this was the most expensive stay out of the 5 nights I have been on the Norfolk coast and apart from the spa and gym (which I didn't use) it had nothing special. The room needs some work, the carpets are ready for replacement, the bathroom door is warping and the carpet damaged, the rooms are not sound proof and I could hear the conversations of the neighbouring rooms, TV, and a humming noise. The tea and coffee facilities were poor, no fruit or herbal teas. And cheap coffee and hot chocolate sachets. One of the plug sockets has been upgraded to have usb connections, but it didn't work.
Poached eggs for breakfast were slightly under done, and the yolks cold.
- Elda (10/5): Very relaxing. - I loved the spa area and all it has to offer. The food was amazing.
- John (9/5): Will definitely stay again - Breakfast very good, room excellent, restaraunt and bar very good, spa I didn't use. Check in and out very easy Nothing
- Guest (8/5): -
- Steve (8/5): Great relaxing time. - Breakfast was excellent, the pool sauna etc was very good and the staff were very friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was very average, which was surprising after the excellent breakfast.
- Karl (10/5): Stayed a few times now it’s great - Great facilities friendly staff great ambiance
- Dora Loft (8/5): - The general relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. It's a feeling of friendliness and helpfulness that I like here. Our room had no view from the window, just a wall covered in artificial ivy, but this didn't really spoil anything.
- Deborah (9/5): Would definitely stay again - Nice friendly staff spacious room Bathroom a little dated
- Carol (10/5): Friendly Hotel excellent pool great value - Second visit lovely staff, warm, cosy great value Nothing
- Jon (7/5): Nice hotel and friendly staff especially at breakfast. - Breakfast was good. There was no shampoo in our bathroom unlike most other hotels and B&B.
No shampoo or shower gel in the changing rooms of the swimming pool so you had to go back to our room to have a proper shower.
We also think that there should be a life guard observing the pool at all times.
- Evangeline (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Mike (9/5): An excellent hotel - A lovely friendly environment
- Ellis (8/5): very nice - my room my bed the bathroom shower was fantastic my breakfast the bar looked good although i didnt use it, the health activity centre looked good although i was only there one night so i didnt use it not knowing the hotel internet number to sign in reception looked basic not that many car parking places
- Glenda (7/5): - The swimming pool, the breakfast The place was a bit soulless.
- Chaz (9/5): Lovely stay - The room was comfortable and the onside spa bar and restaurant were nice. Staff were helpful. Not much.
- Sally (10/5): Super stay, breakfast excellent, gym and spa facilities very good. Would definitely recommend. - Nicely appointed rooms. Good location well maintained.
- Julie (9/5): Brilliant location and facilities. - Stayed 2 nights. Breakfast on the Friday excellent. Breakfast on Saturday ok but a little disorganised.
Spa was fab.
- Janet (8/5): Would come again. - Food very good. Shower really good. Lots of hot water. Bed a bit lumpy.
- kate (10/5): - Spa, comfy bed, friendly staff, short distance from seals No bottle of water in bedroom
- Ann (8/5): Very enjoyable - Very friendly helpful staff, clean & comfortable stay. Resturant was excellent for evening meal & breakfast
- Jeremy (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): - Friendly staff and a good location.
- Jon (7/5): Pleasant break - Bedroom beat and clean
Restaurant good
Spa facilities excellent Bathroom in need of update
- Gill (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): - The staff are very friendly and helpful..the room was lovely..breakfast was excellent...we have stayed here lots and its always been good
- Peter (8/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Nice stay in caister, lively pool and steam room to relax after journey. Good staff and food - Room was clean and comfortable. Pool and steam room clean and relaxing. Breakfast was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Central location. Could do with a lounge area where you could relax quietly. Only area had 2 chairs at end of corridor away from facilities. Main areas have music playing. For us who used the pool or were out this was fine. However if travelling with someone who does not use the pool area, nowhere to relax quietly for any length of time.
- Kate (10/5): Great time x - The staff were the best part all of them bar staff restaurant staff and in the swimming area You could hear people in next room so maybe a bit more insulation
- Liliana (10/5): -
- kristina (9/5): Great location, great breakfast ,great staff - Breakfast was amazing and staff excellant well done
Spa and pool very nice 👌 In the room there was no hooks to put coats on , only one chair to sit on and there was aplenty of space for a second chair
Twin beds were not wide enough
There a smell of mold in the room and mold around the windows , just needs attention to detail
- Kris (10/5): On the whole the stay was great and would recommend in a heartbeat, only issue was the single beds, didn’t fancy sharing - Good location, facilities were excellent as was the breakfast Had a twin room was fine but the beds were very small for a single bed so didn’t sleep very well
- Ronan (7/5): -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Stayed at this hotel quite a few times now and it never disappoints, always a pleasure - Everything Nothing
- Sue (8/5): Enjoyable experience - Large room, king size bed, fridge and heating just right View from the window was dismal
- Maggie (10/5): Awesome stay - Everything was spot on. Had a really lovely stay .Gym was great. Swim was so relaxing. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and breakfast was perfect too. Really couldn’t fault anything. Everything has been thought through. Will definitely stay again :) Thank you.
- Paul (7/5): - Nice pool, sauna and steam room. Early food closure @ 2000hrs.
- Wendy (9/5): On the first visiting this hotel very impressed nice day it has also a gym and a swimming pool in which we didn’t get to - The property was very beautiful very clean and a good location The only thing I can say what I wasn’t that overstruck by but I cannot be helped was the view from our window was just of roof and satellite dishes and everything unfortunately but I know sometimes that can’t be helped by choice. The room itself was lovely even for some reason we was in a disabled one.
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Chris (9/5): We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Food was good, Plenty do to in the area. - Lovely large room.
- Stefanie (9/5): -
- Hazel (9/5): - the staff were all very helpful and pleasant the room was spotless 🙂food delicious The mattress was lumpy and very uncomfortable 😐
- Adam (8/5): Great staff, standard rooms are dated. - The staff here are amazing, breakfast is very high quality, and the bar and restaurant is lovely. I think the rooms are pricey for what they are, north of £130 for one night in February is high for quite basic accommodation. Shower over bath, very difficult to regulate temperature, and very dated overall. I have stayed in one of their premium rooms before, they are much nicer, but even more expensive.
- kevin (9/5): -
- David (10/5): - Staff
- Allen (8/5): Excellent facilities & food in The Old Hall! - Excellent meals, both quantity & quality. Bath had cracked side panel & paintwork on bathroom door & frame was tired.
- stephen (8/5): -
- Kay (10/5): - Friendly staff lovely room great location Maybe more parking
- MT (6/5): Pleasant enough stay, enjoyed the pool and facilities, would not eat dinner here again - Good pool and spa facility, comfortable room (Room 1). Convenient parking. Good breakfast. Pre-booked Evening meal was poor. Garlic mushrooms - very little or no garlic smothered in an unpleasant white coloured sauce on a soggy bit of bread. Baked salmon (dried out) perched on top of a ridiculously large pile of salad (enough to feed a family of 4) served with no less than 8 large potatoes with their skins on (not nice at that size). The meal was daunting and impossible to sensibly eat, the fish had to be decanted onto a side plate. My skin on fries that were served with the ribs were cold - I raised this with the waitress who took them away and came back with the same fries that had clearly just been put back in the fryer and sent out again, now dry and over cooked. Evening Chef clearly has little skill and no interest in the food served.
- Angela (10/5): very relaxing - the nail salon (lady was lovely), breakfast was great room fantastic. Location was very good as close to local shops and beach short drive away the EV charger not working, had to go offsite to charge and non-ev vehicles in the ev bays
- Karen (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable hotel. - This is a lovely hotel with great facilities. The staff are charming, helpful and professional. Breakfast was excellent; with a great choice of well prepared food. We had one evening meal and the menu choice was extensive. Lively pub with nice beer. We had a short walk to the beach and the local life boat house with its charming cafe. Well worth a visit. Overall, a delightful stay in really good hotel. Nothing
- Simon (8/5): - Very clean through out , used the pool ,sauna and steam room all excellent. Room very comfortable with fridge . Breakfast and staff service very good.
- Josh (10/5): -
- Jeanette (10/5): A great stay at a great hotel. We had a very happy time exploring the area and beyond 👍👍 - We both enjoyed our stay at the Old Hall …the spa facilities were excellent. Breakfasts were delicious. Our room was very comfortable we liked the fridge in the room. Staff very nice.
The location was great, Bus Stop to Great Yarmouth and other destinations just across the road. Supermarket close by to buy snacks and drinks. Car parking good and convenient 😊
- Debby (9/5): -
- Ivan (9/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Eric (5/5): Was okay but would not return. Far better to be had elsewhere. - Location was central but Caister is awful. We expected far more from this location and from the hotel. Room could have been spacier. Felt cramped.
- William (7/5): Enjoy this stay, would stay there again. - Convenient location, helpful staff Quite busy in the evenings, including parking
- Nicola (4/5): - Staff and food fantastic but let down by allowing non residents in that have no consideration for others Lots of children running around too.A relaxing break it most definitely wasn't Loud music and lots of youngsters swearing and being rowdy when trying to have a drink after our meal.
- David (10/5): I had a lovely night sleep followed by an amazing breakfast - Excellent welcome
Room was a good size
Bed and pillows were so comfortable Couldn’t book in till 3
- Jonathan (7/5): In spite of the negative comments above, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was good and plentiful. We had a very - It’s a nice old property but fairly well maintained. Having access to the spa/gym/pool/sauna/steam room/jacuzzi is great.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is good, being close to Gt Yarmouth and other nice places to visit.
The breakfast menu is good. Coffee and tea are bottomless. The bed is comfortable. The spa facilities tended to be crowded because it doubles as the local leisure centre. That means you might have to wait to be able to use the jacuzzi or sauna, or you may not get a chance to use it. Swimming can be difficult when there are more than six people swimming laps.
Some of the staff were obviously stressed, which can be unpleasant.
The room had mould growing around the window. There aren’t enough places to hang up towels to dry in the bathroom. They need hooks on the back of the bathroom door. It was hard to get the bedroom to a comfortable sleeping temperature.
- Mirjam (8/5): A comfortable stay, with use of leisure facilities - Spacious room with large bed, coffee and tea making tray, 2 chairs, shower over bath. We made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room, it had spacious and well-equipped changing rooms, everything very clean.
Breakfast is served to your table, it was hot and tasty, nice fruit salad.
All staff very friendly and helpful I would have liked a choice of teas in the room, and a packet of biscuits each, instead of sharing one. Swimming pool quite busy in the morning with locals coming from outside.
On the 2nd day no parking to be found as there was an event in the pub next door
Shower a bit tricky to work
- Kevin (9/5): Enjoyable break , good value for what you pay - Had everything we needed . Easy to get about by car . The staff at the hotel were good at what they do . Nothing
- David (9/5): Comfortable and convenient. Would stay there again - Room very comfortable. Breakfast fine, good choice. Didn’t use the free spa. Nothing really.
- Tony and Barbara (10/5): - Great spot to see in 2026. It snowed on our last day there ☃️🥶 Nothing
- Camilla (10/5): -
- Joan (9/5): - Staff very friendly
- David (8/5): -
- Elisabeth (8/5): Nice, would go back - Quiet, clean, comfortable room. Spa is a nice extra, breakfast was nice. Often unstaffed, wasn’t a big issue but breakfast didn’t follow the times specified, and the bar is always packed out in the evening so it’s hard to get a table. Not a lot else in the village for dinner (may just be the time of year). Bathroom made a strange gurgling noise, heating wasn’t super effective so room was chilly
- Pam (9/5): Excellent accommodation and service - Perfect location for visiting friends. It's got everything you need:-) Nothing
- Philip (10/5): Great value for money! - Great value for money. Use of Gym and pool, including hot tub, sauna and steam room all included.
Breakfast was very nice and staff were fantastic, going out of their way to provide gluten free option for my wife who has coeliac disease. Our room also had air conditioning. We'll be going back! Only slight thing that could have been better was the bathroom needed updating in the room we stayed in. With that being said, the shower over the bath was nice and powerful.
- Diane (9/5): - The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly. Spa facilities are excellent and so was breakfast. We were in room 28, although the room was excellent it didn't have a view. As we stayed late December, it wasn't an issue, but it wouldn't be so great in the summertime.
- kevin (9/5): -
- NIGEL (9/5): Very good comfortable room good breakfast. - quiet room, very good breakfast, warm rooms with air con. Bar very noisy and full, (I appreciate it is leading up to Xmas)
