Guest Reviews
- 574tanmaym (10/5): Best hotel to stay in Palani for visit to Lord Murugan temple , Palani - Excellent hotel in temple town of Palani , Tamil Nadu , India . Very near to Palani Murugan temple main base area gate ( 2 min walk from hotel ) . Across road get free battery cars to get dropped in Rope car station or Winch station or steps to walk to hill top . Hotel has nice South Indian restaurant serving delicious food of variety of options . Big and spacious room with required amenities- tea , coffee, kettle . Two elevators make going to room or down to lobby faster . Excellent staff. We loved our stay and comfortable night sleep after our cherished darshan of Arulmigai Dhandayuthapani Swamy .
- Fearless57720876374 (4/5): Good hotel with nice facilities but very poor experience with lost items. Staff do not return belongings to lost & found - The hotel itself is good — clean, comfortable, and with decent facilities. However, I was very disappointed with how they handle lost items. If you accidentally leave something behind, don’t expect it to be returned. The staff kept my belongings instead of placing them in the lost and found, and no proper action was taken when I reported it. This really affected my overall experience. Management should look into this seriously, as honesty and accountability are just as important as comfort.
- Traveler55861053900 (6/5): Below average experience - Below average rooms which really need maintenance, very bad quality towels and linen and bathroom lack cleanliness. Location is good and walkable distance to temple steps and buggy service points . Reception staff lack empathy
- Thambyrajah (4/5): Very Basic Hotel - Descent hotel in an excellent location. Pricy for what it is. Room ok. But, Bathroom desperately need update. Breakfast tasteless. First hotel ever to stay Dosai is not part of the vompli
- Pioneer25037087370 (10/5): Highly recommended - I went with my family. Family had a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely helpful and cordial, making check-in and every request effortless. The rooms were spacious and clean, very comfortable for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is conveniently located for temple visit, which made visiting easy. The on-site restaurant is also excellent — tasty food and great service. Highly recommended
- TrailBlazer644336 (10/5): Great hotel - Great hotel. Reception staff are [specially jayakumar] professional friendly &helpful.
Restaurant has plenty of choice and good food.
And hotel location is great and opposite palani murgan temple
- Travel39023111250 (6/5): CAN MAINTAIN BETTER - I have been visiting Ganpat Grand for more than five, six years. This time i felt the maintenance has come down. I observed that the Lenin was not clean, towels were shabby, toilets cleanliness was not good, I think the management has to maintain it better for the price they charge
- SarathRavindran (10/5): Excellent Stay in Palani - Excellent stay for a family! Hotel location is very close and convenient to reach out. Even the food from associated restaurant is very nice.
- ramamoorthye2019 (2/5): Money minded , don’t go - Unprofessional, unfriendly and lack of empathy !! Did you even know what is business and righteousness?? I don’t want to write more .. they don’t deserve it
- Voyager46180616642 (2/5): Worst hotel waste of money , so dirty toilets - The bathroom is so dirty..
lot of cockroaches in the hotel
It’s a very worst hotel
Please do not choose this hotel it’s worst hotel .
They do not even provide a water bottle insend they provide a bottle filled with water , I believe they have not even cleaned the bottle.
- Udaya (8/5): - The room was clean. At first we were given a room near the smoking area. I asked for another room because of this. No questions asked. We did get a room on thd same floor. Basic requirements in the room, food is good. We got a late checkout too.
- Sunshine56331100059 (10/5): Hotel Ganapat Grand Review - "I had a wonderful stay here! The rooms were immaculately clean, and the staff were extremely polite and courteous. The location was perfect, being very close to the temple. WiFi connection was provided throughout my stay, which was a great convenience.
One area for improvement is the common bathroom downstairs, which is shared between in-house dining and external visitors. However, the bathrooms within the rooms were exceptionally clean.
Overall, a great experience!"
- Paradise315442 (2/5): WORST hotel - Travelling around Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for six weeks. At the end of four weeks, this is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at.
1. Three patches of mold in the bathroom.
2. There was no hot water in the shower. At best the water was lukewarm.
3. The worst was the untrained staff who ignored the guests at breakfast. They treated local Indians better. I was told there was no dosa but a local managed to order hot dosa for family and herself. I then ordered a dosa with one of the waitresses and gave up waiting for it to arrive. My hot coffee was served in a paper cup while all the locals got their coffee in proper cups. The staff try very hard not to meet your eye at breakfast.
4. My driver was not allowed to take drinking water from the water fountain. Reason was that the owner was around.
Palani could do ALOT better than this terrible place, considering how many foreigners visit Palani.
- CTCDEV (10/5): Grandier Hotel Ganpat Grand - Apt location to approach temple. Smily front office staffs, nice serving restaurant staffs. Quality of food is exceptional. Perfectly maintained good rooms with amenities. Very safe to park our vehicle. Little bit costly on the tariff part. Divine hotel in front of gods temple. this is the perfect stay preference for me always.
- Guide59422491141 (10/5): Best service Provider & hassle free stay over. - It was an amazing stay offered by GG, one if my friend suggested, It was the appropriate decision and I Would strongly suggests others too. Hospitality, cleanliness & facilities are gentle & its best, close to Lord! Ample parking, kitchen.
- Karsrim (6/5): Needs better maintenance - Check in process was smooth. Staff are friendly and helpful. Stay was comfortable
The hotel has seen better days. The room looks old and dated as it has not been maintained properly. The water in the bathroom was not draining. All the mirrors in the bathroom had marks and looked like it had not been cleaned for long.
- Shamesh (4/5): I wouldnt recommend this hotel - Room appears clean but I had bedbug bites. I was expecting a queen size bed at least but did not expect 2 single beds moved together like a double-single bed. Staff were not friendly and they are not well informed about local city facts. Main plus point is just the location to the main temple.
- 238sriramb (6/5): Stay - Very poor service now a days . Room electrical items where open , curtains hanging without hook , dining tables uncleaned . Even the Reception people where not bothered to attend . When I asked for a paper to write my views they told me they don’t have and complain register
- Meander27477262803 (6/5): Good stay near the temple - The property is very good, rooms are neat, need little more care on maintenance. This is the only property which I could find for decent stay near the temple with ample car parking.
Food is very average, please skip the morning breakfast it is not worth at all. I would request to have food in balaji food court (beside the hotel restaurant) rather than from the hotel restaurant as the food is cooked in same kitchen.
The only issue I faced is the staff attitude, it is very bad. We can't expect any kind hospitality or politeness from them. I was wrongly charged for extra bed and when I try to explain them they do not have patience to listen, rather they started commanding me, latter it was sorted out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good - Good for the money and location.
- KrupakarRamanathan (8/5): GANPAT GRAND HOTEL, PALANI – Pleasant Stay. - Situated on the Palani Temple foot hill.
Very good property and location. Room was spacious. Centralised Air-conditioning. Neatly maintained rooms.
We booked Superior Room for 2 persons. No King/Queen sized bed was available.
24 hour check-out available for booking through Hotel’s website.
Tasty Vegetarian food is available from the Restaurant. Room Service is also available. Breakfast Buffet spread was good.
Spacious Car Parking. Hotel and restaurant staff are courteous.
I recommend this property for those who are travelling with family.
- Nirmay (10/5): Nice experience - Good hotel at the foothills of temple. Value for money if you are looking for a good accommodation with quality food. All the staff are very helpful. Tonsure facility is nearby though the hotel said they can also arrange for one. Clean hotel rooms.
- Sarath_sasi (10/5): Great stay at Foot hills of Palani - I went for the 'Mundan' ritual at Palani with my family and had booked 3 rooms. The hotel staff was very accommodation especially their Front office staff. they made arrangements for 'Mundan' ritual at the hotel itself which was very much convenient for us. the location is very comfortable as it is just walking distance to temple. will surly recommend for my friends and family and will surly come back.
- sujithamanit (2/5): Worst ever stay in my lifetime - Worst property and worst staffs and mainly worst behavior instead I would say rough or harsh behavior the person was very rude to me while addressing my problems and I felt helpless. Pls don't try this hotel since no proper maintenance and very dirty linens and rest rooms food that served was too bad and I was unwell for a couple of days after having their food
- Abinaya9 (2/5): My personal opinion - Nothing was appreciative our entire trip went in vein after visiting the property and had to spoil our mood and when we informed them about our difficulties but no cared for the same and that even made us worse. So pls be very cautious before choosing to stay here.
- ROYALCOURT_TEAM (10/5): Nice Hotel & Wonderful Hospitality - As we were travelling via Palani we visited this fantastic Hotel for dining the service and hospitality was exceptional especially the tea and its aroma was class .Mr. Jayakumar General Manager was kind and generous in handing the Guest. Being A Hotelier we are really impressed with their Hospitality
Regards

Managing Director
Hotel Royal Court Madurai
- seng0ttuv (2/5): Worst stay - None of it was appreciated. The worst maintanance of property with poor linens and the worst part is food and their attitude towards the guest when you come up some complaints regarding the property mainly the general manager Jayakumar (i guess) was too harsh
- Sherpa60511675650 (2/5): I am totally disappointed - Considering the location I opted and left amethyst but i really felt bad for my decision. Only plus is location rest all is very very worst and total waste. Let me think they room rent which is spent is deposited in hundial. Waste of everything.
- Maheswary (10/5): Excellent Hotel and Friendly staff - We stayed in room number 120. A warm welcome by the Front desk and the General Manager of the Hotel. Very close to the railway station and Palani Lord Murugan Temple. Walkable distance to the Temple and Market Area. Very friendly staff and co-operative.Rooms are very neat and clean. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Ganpat Grand. The General Manager of the Hotel Ganpat Grand Mr Jeyakumar is an asset to this Hotel and his service to the Guests are remarkable. Keep it up and we would like to come back again and stay with you in near future.
- mithunraj_88 (8/5): Excellent stay with close location of temple..!! - One of its kind for which u cannot find a substitute.
Its a place of class and luxury, with a great view of temple.
Just editing my review after my second visit. (12.09.2019)
This time the visit was with my one year old baby for head tonsuring. Property remains good , a bit worn out but still they are trying to maintain it at the best way possible. Head Tonsuring facility was available just opposite of hotel which was a great help especially when you a with a baby, once it is done can come and take bath and can go to temple.
I was given a great price for 2 rooms when called directly to hotel when mentioned existing customer which was very kind of them, which included breakfast as well as dinner.
The breakfast and dinner was standard buffet, not so grand but still it was a standard one.
Just for the reception staff at night, u guys can be more energetic, more attentive.
Had a great stay, peaceful Temple visit. Looking forward to visit again.
- Sam (10/5): - Good hospitality . Nice location and food. People are friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very clean, all basic amenities were available. Staff were friendly. Food was good. Simple laundry service would have been a great adventage. As a philgim place, we have to were fresh and clean cloth everyday.
- Ron (8/5): Not Bad - Convenient, good value
- Subash (10/5): - This hotel really made us feel at home. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and we had a good rest here. Breakfast was great.
There were stalls just outside the hotel which one can shop to but some for some household items.
Definitely a hotel I would recommend.
- Shankar (8/5): Ganpath Grand Experience - The stay at the hotel was a satisfying experience. Room was very clean, service was superb. The staff was very friendly and their attitude was excellent. The location was terrible and reaching such an excellent facility was very disappointing. Apart from the location, it was a great place to be in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay with good service and food - Hello All. It was a great stay and the property was very well managed. Staffs are friendly and the rooms are provided with clean linen. Frankly speaking I didn't find anything to complain for except for the surrounding, but the property is located just walkable distance from Palani temple and this is the best choice of you there for darshan.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Near to the temple. Hotel is maintained very well. Courteous staff.
- vj (10/5): Best hotel to stay in palani - I booked this hotel for our family trip to palani. Everything from location to cleanliness is excellent. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is good . Very good view of the temple from roof top.
- subramany (8/5): nice hotel with good staff.made our stay pleasant - a good hotel with good ambience.
the food is good and tasty.
- Ravindran (4/5): very bad - For the money they charge in that location there are better hotels out there where I stayed previously
OMG the shampoo they have... Be careful
- Kiran (10/5): Comfy hotel close to the Palani hotel - Had a pleasant stay at Ganpat Grand. The rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good food at the restaurant.
- Verified traveler (2/5): They play with the rates - They charge more than Expedia offered rates. In my case they asked to pay the taxes additional even though Expedia rates were inclusive of taxes.
- Ravi (8/5): Close to the temple - We were alloted a room that had water leaks, when we checked in. Staff immediately changed our room with a view to the temple. The room had a locker, 24 hot water supply and a mini fridge.
- Rintu (10/5): Comfortable stay - Nice hotel very close to the temple. Clean rooms. Nice restaurant attached to the hotel. Friendly staff.
- Arun (8/5): Best hotel to stay in palani. - very quick check in. good restaurant.. worth for the price.
- Elin (2/5): Do not book. - Really bad experience. We had prepayed the hotel twice, we tried to fix this in the reception but the staff told us that we had not payed at all and wanted us to pay one more time. We did not get the money back for the dubble payment and the staff was very rude.
