- Amanda (4/5): - There was horrible smell at motel on two nights of stay. Staff changed their response to each person that complained. On morning of checkout, elevators were not working. I went downstairs and asked the desk clerk if they were aware. She continued looking at her cell phone and said, "yeah." There was a guy also working sitting on couch in entry area. Neither moved. It would have taken a few minutes to put a sign on the ONE elevator on the only three floors. No concern or care given by your staff. My husband and I are both senior citizens with both replacement knees. It was tough but the lack of concern by your staff was shocking. They honestly didn't care that the smell was horrible or that people were waiting on a broken elevator that had no signage.

It was on my reservations but they didn't have it on their end. This is not the first time this has happened. I really wish your company would make sure and special needs is made known to the hotel.

One item that I’d like to mention as a takeaway for Holiday Inn corporate staff that are responsible for architectural & engineering design & construction of Holiday Inn X-press hotels: sounds from upper rooms reverberate to immediate floor/room below. Any heavy walking, running, or moving around of heavy items on upper floors can be clearly heard in the rooms directly below, just like a mid-century split-level residential home. Given a commercial facility and establishment like this, especially one that focuses on ensuring the comfort of guests and a quiet stay, it’s very disappointing to know that Holiday Inn would design a hotel facility this way. Looks like the result of architectural and engineering design methods that specify cheaper construction materials to save costs. The real loser here are guests on bottom floors. First time I’ve ever stayed in any hotel and have been able to clearly hear heavy walking or running in the above floor room.

Here is the bad:Air conditioners are absolutely horrible. Rattles and noisy. Sound like a prop airplane taking off. No rest. Couldn’t sleep hardly. Also, beware if you’re allergic to anything seafood related as in even the aroma of fish you will have that aroma seep into the room through the air conditioning because captain Ds is literally outside.

We just had to deal with the insanely strong smell of weed in the hall and even seeping under our door a little at night. The "ironibg board' was a joke! It was a countertop one that slid all over the place whilr trying to use it. And you can't put a shirt over the end of it. So ironing was pretty much out of the question. Otherwise the beds are comfy!

We had stayed at another brand's similar hotel earlier this year, but this one was better! I wasn't impressed at check-in but did find the same lady more chatty when we were waiting for my friend to pick us up for dinner. I wasn't recognized as IHG Diamond except for sticker on key card. I was given a room on 2nd floor of 4 story hotel. I was told that the hotel was full, mostly with out of town utility workers. Checking the web site, that proved there was no availability, but they could have saved a suite soon after booking, which was done about a month in advance? We were coming from the south, and I missed the turn because I didn't see a sign on the main highway. This meant turning around at Flannery O'Connor's place at the next intersection! As IHG Diamond I am to receive certain perks: 1) Welcome Amenity - choice of breakfast (n/a at HIE since everyone receives), points (again all IHG members regardless of level receive), or drink/snack at check-in (I chose a Russell Stover candy bag w 3 little pieces from lobby pantry- I remembered why I don't buy these even from the Dollar Tree?). 2) Complimentary Upgrade at check-in, based on availability (we got King Standard as booked- No room upgrade. Told hotel was full, and it was on the web site so understood except one could have been assigned weeks ahead by management?) We always receive IHG upgrades in Europe, if available! 3) Early check-in (n/a on this visit) 4) Late check-out (also n/a on this visit) 5) Free Internet (???everyone IHG member regardless of level gets this) About the room: I got decent rate plus a tick towards stay night rewards. The room had only shower. We arrived at room to find deadbolt lock in place so room accessible by anyone before our arrival? Room was clean and appeared to be just forgotten by housekeeping once cleaned so we decided to stay there since only other available room was accessible one. There was only one elevator!! This could be an issue. I was surprised to find a safe in room. There was hardly any Kleenex, which ran out quickly since we both had sniffles! There was ample hot water with an extra towel set provided. In summary, I would definitely choose this hotel if returning to this area. Everyone was friendly, including the lady at check-in once we started talking! The hotel was clean, the location was good, and there was ample parking. And unlike our next HIE stay the next 2 nights, the pancake machine worked perfectly!

(I've seen this at several other hotels.) There was a mini Keurig coffee maker. (I've had to bring my own in other hotels.) There was a full southern breakfast. (The grits were great.) I unexpectedly had to use a computer which was available for guests. I was able to print a needed document. The hotel was clean; the staff very friendly. I really enjoyed my stay.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Just okay. - The Hotel was okay. The staff was very friendly but as far as cleanliness, it could have been better. The shower was not thoroughly cleaned and there were cobwebs in the corner of the room. There were also pencil shavings on the mattress of the pullout couch. Everything else was clean but that was enough for me not to want to stay there again.

- Bambie (8/5): - Everything was great, the only thing was that the listing stated there was an indoor pool but there isn’t. That was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Everything else was great though. The beds were cozy, clean room, and breakfast was great with many choices to suit everyone!
