Guest Reviews
- marcia (10/5): - Lovely Victorian house in a gorgeous and convenient gorgeous neighborhood.
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent stay in Old Louisville - I can’t recommend the Inn at St. James Court enough. Pat was exceptionally kind and thought of every detail a guest might need, and the house & surrounding street was beautiful.
- Madelyn (10/5): - Pat was so lovely! She was communicative, welcoming, and personable. The room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying here!
- Gil (10/5): A Romantic Dream of the Past - A splendid late 18th century mansion in a neighborhood that is a veritable Gilded Age fairyland, with a grand, bubbling fountain and gaslight lamps (!) in the boulevard outside. In fact, inside and out this place was like stepping into a romantic dream of the past. Pat the owner renovated her home with exquisite taste, and everywhere you look there are details that delight the eye, from the finely crafted period bannisters and the leaded glass windows to objets artfully placed everywhere. The impressive style did not compromise comfort, and we spent a luxurious night in our beautifully appointed bedroom, with thoughtful details like a towel warmer (!) enhancing our stay. We still feel the glow of the Inn at St. James Court, which delivers a unique experience of beauty and Southern hospitality that was really unrival in our experience. I'm glad we discovered it.
- Lou (10/5): - Love the B&B! Quiet and comfortable.

- ann (10/5): An Owner's Labor Of Love and Hospitality - Pat, the owner is very attentive and sociable. The Inn is on a beautiful, historic square. The rooms are comfortable, and well-appointed, and she served a fresh, hearty, delicious breakfast. I heartily recommend this inn for anyone wanting a relaxing, elegant stay in Louisville. It was perfect for my husband and me, but it would not be suitable for business travelers requiring reliable, high-speed WiFi or for disabled travelers who would struggle with stairways.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful victorian house. The breakfast was delicious both days! Pat was a wonderful host - friendly and welcoming. The location was excellent for seeing Old Louisville and eating at a top rated restaurant 610 Magnolia which was in walking distance. There are also shows and tours at the central park, also only a couple blocks away.

Overall Very Nice stay
- patricia (10/5): I absolutely loved staying here - the Inn was in the most beautiful and desirable neighborhood all huge tree lined streets a beautiful place to stay. The breakfast was excellent the hostess was very considerate. You could even walk to Churchill Downs but it's about a mile and a half on a busy street so I drove. There was some Airline noise but not enough to disrupt the serenity of the home I highly recommend the Inn at St James. The owner does have dogs that are very friendly. there is off-street parking which is a real plus. It's less than a block to beautiful Park where they offer guided walking tours which I highly recommend there is a charge of $25 to do that but the history in this area is beautiful and worth knowing. Call way in advance because it is a prime location if want to visit Churchill Downs and it's about an hour and a half drive to go to the Creation Museum and Noah's Ark which are also worth visiting.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful home. The surrounding area is very interesting. Architecture abounds.
- Jackie (10/5): - Excellent Bed and Breakfast. Absolutely beautiful, exceptionally clean and private. The owner Pat was personable, kind and friendly. Her trust and commitment to "doing the best for you" was obvious. Breakfast was outstanding and just sitting with casual conversation, it as clear that she cared about you. My daughter and I were there for a mother daughter weekend. I'd go back there in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for recommending Inn at St James Court.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms are beautiful, quiet, relaxing. The location is wonderful
- Verified traveler (10/5): Unique stay in Historic Louisville - This is a very unique property in Historic Louisville on one of the very best streets. The owner was very kind and the service was excellent. We would definitely stay here again when returning to Louisville.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Best breakfast, owner is very cool. We will go back!
- Karen (10/5): - Beautiful well kept historical mansion. Pat the owner takes great care in this Bsmnd B. HEr breakfasts are tasty and beautifully presented. I highly recommend this place.
- Tom (10/5): - Valet parking was about +20 minutes behind. Restaurant was 20 minutes behind as well. Very busy.
- AmyandMatt (10/5): - Beautiful home on a beautiful street. Pat thought of everything. Coffee maker, candy and cookies, offered info on local restaurants and made us a lovely breakfast. We loved her doggies, too. You won’t be disappointed staying at the Inn at St. James Court.
- Tick (10/5): - The house is beautiful and full of character, and the room is filled with toiletries and amenities you could ever need. Pat is a wonderful host and the breakfast she served is fantastic. Would definitely stay there again if I’m ever back.
- Jo (10/5): - Fabulous! Pat the owner is so lovely, she has two gorgeous dogs, but I’m biased! The room
Was comfy, with everything you could possibly need!
Thehouse is just fabulous, so quirky, old, eccentric but strangely modern! Just loved it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful home in a great location! Good breakfast too!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay. Location was beautiful! Little disappointed the innkeeper was not there when we arrived for our 3pm check-in. It was quite odd.
- Mark (10/5): blue ribbon B&B - superior bed & breakfast in a gilded-age mansion in old Louisville. comfortable, hospitable, gracious owner/hostess. ten minute drive to riverfront/downtown, ten minute drive to the "happening" strip of bardstown road in the highlands. a true gem fo a weekend away, required neighborhood for 19C architecture groupies' bucketlist.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Attractive historic neighborhood. Delicious homemade breakfast. Wonderful hostess. Room was short on counter space and drawer space. Many amenities.
- David (10/5): Great place - Great place! Very friendly and great breakfast.
- Kelly (10/5): Best b&b stay ever - We had an amazing stay in an amazing house with an even more amazing inn keeper. Would highly recommend
- William (10/5): Wonderful in Louisville. - I had an amazing stay and Pat was the perfect host. The House is gorgeous the room are wonderful. I couldn’t ask for a better stay it was wonderful. If I ever go back to Louisville I’d definitely stay at The Inn At St. James Ct.
- Linda (10/5): - Beautiful old home. There are 3 dogs and they love people. Patricia is very accommodating and friendly. We would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner was absolutely amazing and so welcoming! Will definitely be staying again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful Victorian, welcoming host - We loved our stay at the Inn! Our room as absolutely lovely, with many little touches you'd never see at a hotel, such as snacks and toiletries. Our host and owner of the Inn made us feel very welcome, and served a delicious breakfast.
The only surprises that may not be liked by all: There were dogs, which were very friendly, but they did bark when you entered the home, which could intimidate some guests. Also, the home is in the flight path, which we luckily only noticed during the day, but did have a sleep sound and ear plugs for night, just in case.
Overall, we would definitely recommend the Inn, and enjoyed our stay.
- Matthew (10/5): Great historic area. - Beautiful area. Wonderful home. She does have some doggies, but we don’t mind dogs. If your allergic or hate dogs this place is not recommended. We took a 10 minute Lyft ride to downtown and they were at the house in 5 minutes. So it’s in a convenient spot.
- Laura (10/5): grad weekend - We were un town for a Dental graduation and this was perfect location. The setting is beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Pat was a gracious host and breakfasts were wonderful.
- Troy (10/5): Nice House and Nice Area - The house is amazing! One of the nicest houses in the neighborhood and that's saying a lot!
- Troy (10/5): Very Nice House! - Pat has one of the nicest houses I've ever stayed in! The street is full of large Victorian Houses. There's even real gas lamps on the street.
I would definitely recommend anyone who's staying in Louisville to stay in Pat's house!
- Mary/Roger (10/5): Beautiful Victorian Home near park - This 5 day vacation was wonderful thanks to our wonderful hostess Pat Mahaun. She welcomes you into her beautifully decorate victorian home with all the amenities available to guest. We loved the coffee bar outside our room. Snack draw in our room. The view from our room of fountain and gas lights that line the street. She creates each morning a wonderful breakfast from fresh fruit, zuchini bread, french toast to frittatas You have the feeling of being at home. I highly recommend staying at Inn at St James Court.
