- TRACY AND STUART (10/5): JUST THE PLACE - After visiting Holy Island this was the perfect place for us to spend the night. Clean, tidy, beautiful food and brilliant for the A1. Hosts Simon and Sarah were lovely. 😁
- DorotaDD (8/5): Great location and nice stay - Perfect location for visiting Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle! Amazing owners - they were very welcoming and locked after us all the time. Traffic was not a problem, even though the B&B is located next to A1, we were not disturbed by noise. Comfortable bed and good breakfast.

- philip (8/5): -
- Maureen (9/5): -
- Paul (8/5): Overnight stay to enable an early crossing to Lindisfarne - Staff left breakfast food for us when we said we were checking out early before the normal breakfast time It is quite remote
- Costanza (10/5): - Perfect for a short family stay, the hosts were really kind and did their best to make our stay the most comfortable. Amazing breakfast!
- John (8/5): Adequate but overpriced - Breakfast was fine. Staff were very friendly. What island view? Dinner menu was very limited and food only adequate. Fortunately we had a wonderful evening chatting/drinking with a group of other guests and staff
- JEREMY (8/5): -
- Cowie (10/5): - Lovely staff could not do anuf for you.breakfast was lovely.
- Nicola (10/5): Excellent stay! - We loved the immediate friendliness on arrival, Simon made us feel lovely and relaxed. Our room had such a lovely feel and was immaculately clean. Location perfect , and being so near to the A1 did not detract from our stay at all. Soundproofing was very good and we had some lovely views. Bed was comfortable, shower was good, and we appreciated the lovely big fluffy towels.
We also loved all the staff at The Island view. Great hosts, great family business and you can tell they are passionate about what they provide. We will definitely return Nothing!
Would be nice to have fresh milk with the tea and coffee in the room, but this wasnt a big issue
- Colin (8/5): - Good location
Food excellent
Very comfortable room
- Tonček (8/5): Great location for Lindisfarne - Great location for visiting Lindisfarne. Lovely room. Very kind ladies at breakfast - breakfast was good. Bathroom was a bit on the smaller side and it could be a bit brighter.
- Roland (9/5): Top! War kurz aber super! - Super leichter Self Check-in. Unkompliziert. Top Preis Leistung! Ideal für die Durchreise. Würden wir wieder buchen.
- Josepha (6/5): Chambre propre et hôte agréable mais trop de bruit. - Équipements confortables, hôte agréable et poli. B&B en bord de route très passante donc avec un bruit incessant.
- Julie (10/5): Fantastic place to stay! - It was a family run business and they were really lovely people. The lady helping(Wendy?)was brilliant. A lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was spot on! The evening meal was delicious and home made. The room was nice and clean with a good size bathroom. Definitely somewhere we would stay again We liked everything

- Price (10/5): - The Island View is located in a great spot near to both Berwick, holy island, Bamburgh castle and Seahouses. It was perfect for a family stay cation. Lovely views, nice and quiet and staff were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and hopefully we will be returning in the near future. Breakfast was also lovely nothing is too much for the staff just ask and will accommodate.

- Cristian (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (8/5): - Staff where very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for travelling with my dog. The bed was very comfortable. The food was fantastic. To say it is on the A1 and Storm Dave blew over the noise outside was very minimal.
- James (5/5): Slept well - Hosts and breakfast Bar closed too early
- David (10/5): A warm welcome at an ideal location - The Island View is perfectly located, scarcely 50 yards off the A1, and has all the facilities you need - they all work too!
But the reasons to come back are the spectacular views and, even more importantly, the wonderful welcome from the hosts, which could not have been warmer. They made you want to return.
- Barbara (7/5): -
- Isabella (10/5): We came to stay to visit family in Berwick the room was brilliant staff were brilliant friendly. Would 100% recommend - We were shown to our room the room was fantastic daughters loved it too. Very helpful polite and friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Very very clean and the breakfast was first class, everything my daughters wanted. But I need to say My 8 year old wanted to write that she loved the island view and cannot wait to go back loved breakfast and room beds very comfy. Nothing at all.
- Christine (8/5): Great family run accomodation straight off the A1 perfect for golfers in the area and a stop over. - Friendly accomodation with excellent staff. Good home cooked food and an excellent choice of breakfast. Very comfy beds. A bit tight to get into the bathroom but excellent value for money. The bathroom was a bit restricted in size especially getting through the door without knocking the tea tray over. I'd suggest putting the tea tray and glasses elsewhere. However, we had a great stay and would go back.
- Mélani (10/5): ESPECTACULAR - El personal es muy amable, además el sitio es precioso. El personal del desayuno era muy simpático y agradable. ¡Inmejorable!
- Gabriel WIlliam (8/5): Nice place - Very nice place, clean and comfortable. We enkoyed the view and the locality. The traffic can be heard from the road, but with closed windows and earplugs if you have to, it's ok. The hosts are very nice and helpful.
- Mays (10/5): - The room plus staff
- Christian (4/5): - Breakfast staff being quick, polite and helpful. Instant coffee, faulty cot you need to assemble yourself at late hour when baby’s exhausted tired. Doors that don’t open and close properly.
- Catherine (8/5): Lovely break away next door to holy Island - Bed was comfy, staff were lovely, it was very clean. Breakfast was delicious and they remembered little details from the night before. I’m a coffee snob and won’t drink instant coffee and that’s what I got at breakfast. The tea was yummy though!
- Barry (7/5): - Pretty quiet, but probably down to the time of year and the recent amount of rainfall over the last few weeks.
Good breakfast with a decent selection of evening meals.
Excellent hosts in Sarah and Simon. My room was comfortable though a proper armchair rather than a dinning chair would add to the comfort.
TV to high up in the corner of the room resulted in a aching neck.
- Benjamin (9/5): Comfortable accomodation and friendly staff - Handy to the highway and exploring Holy Island. Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the English Breakfast.
- Richard (10/5): Great place to stay en-route to Edinburgh (or for longer to visit local attractions) - Very good place to stay en-route to Edinburgh. Good meal in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable bedroom. We look forward to our next visit.
- Tibor (10/5): -
- David (10/5): -
- Keira (10/5): Thankyou for a lovely stay - Staff were lovely
Rooms and facilities were clean
Brekky was beautiful
Bargain for the money Beyond expectations for the money we paid
- Patricia (10/5): -
- ROSE (7/5): -
- Melanie (10/5): Arrived as customers, left as friends. Already looking at dates to stay again. - For a B&B, all you need is a comfy bed and a smashing breakfast - and this place delivered! As a bonus, Simon the owner is one of the nicest people you could meet. Nothing was too much trouble. Natural rapport with people, very easy to talk too - we felt "at home " immediately. Absolutely brilliant with my children too. View from room was gorgeous. Nothing to not like for us! As we mentioned to Simon, the only suggestion we have was to put a copy of the menu in the information pack in the room!
- Matt (7/5): Clean and comfy - Bed was super comfy
- Brenda (8/5): Was just overnight , but was good - Breakfast was Good , everything we wanted Nothing really ,we enjoyed our stay
- Sean (8/5): Comfy room and an excellent breakfast with friendly owners - Was met by Simon when we said we would arrive, very friendly and gave us a lot of local information.
Brilliant breakfast in the morning and could not have been more accommodating.
Rooms were fine cosy, exactly as advertised. Location a little remote but everything within a short driving distance.
- Harry (8/5): Great accommodation. - Great location, great staff. Nothing to dislike.
- Ben (9/5): -
- Laura (9/5): -
- Abi (9/5): Really handy and comfortable place run by a lovely couple. - Perfect location for overnight stop on A1.
Very comfortable large rooms. Friendly staff
- Sandra (8/5): -
- Marcin (10/5): - Very good breakfast, amazing owner and staff. Our second stay there - the same excellent expeirence. Will recommend it to everyone.
- Bernard Geoffrey (9/5): - Our breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly & efficient. We enjoyed our chat with some locals in the bar after our meal.
- Chantal (4/5): Pas un très bon souvenir. - Personnel à peine accueillant , petit déjeuner : peut mieux faire .
- Kenneth (8/5): -
- Kathryn (7/5): Good value for money. - Room was comfortable and had good facilities. Breakfast was lovely. The battered haddock, as described on the menu, was a little disappointing and the food served could have been warmer.
- Philip and Jean (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. It was relaxing and refreshing. - Simon our host was very welcoming and friendly. He went out of his way to be helpful. Breakfast was hearty and delivered efficiently. We enjoyed a drink in the bar before retiring.
- Paul (9/5): Great breakfast comfy stay -
- clare (10/5): - Couldn't fault anything Nothing
- Bissex (9/5): Convenient stay before attending a memorial service - Enjoyed the breakfast, nothing missing importantly food was good Maybe the view from the room, but we did not spend long so it doesn't matter.
- Megan (10/5): Hidden gem - The hotel was wonderful out the way very private and quiet. The room was decorated for my partners birthday by the couple, which was a lovely little surprise and set the tone wonderfully. We were even automatically upgraded to the family room which had loads of classic board games foe us to play in the spare time as it was quiet season. They also accommodated my partners celiac dietary requirements flawlessly for hot and cold breakfast options which was wonderful. 10/10 the hosts are wonderful people, will stay again. Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): Good value pleasant hosts.good breakfast. Very comfortable bed. - Everything Nothing
- Atkin (9/5): -
- Davy (7/5): -
- Graeme (6/5): Nice location but facilities could be better - Staff very friendly. Food was good but fairly basic. Nice view from room Room was cold as was the bar area and there was an irritating dripping/tapping noise most of the night. Lack of sockets in room and several extension leads in use.
- Glen (8/5): -
- Rocky (10/5): - Lovely quaint property. Rooms were good size and good value for money. Staff were helpful and professional. Simon helped me out when I left an item in the room. He communicated promptly and helped me to resolve the issue fast. Would definitely stay again when in the local area!
- Alan (7/5): Basic pub style accommodation, convenient for Berwick - Good location for visiting Berwick - good pub style accommodation One man band regarding booking in, arranging an evening meal etc. Very limited menu.
Quite a cramped room. No staff on site overnight
- Catherine (10/5): -
- vince (10/5): - Perfect location
- Stephane (7/5): A great inn with great owners, very honest and unpretentious place to stay that was clean and lovely - The breakfast, the ease of access, not hearing the main A1 road traffic, the honest and authentic people running the inn, the cleanliness, the bar on the premises, and friendly locals in the bar. Real coffee would have been nice.
- Nairn (9/5): Highly recommend - The staff couldn't do enough for us .
Amazing place to stay.
Everything is with in a few miles.
The room was fantastic Yes it is close to a main road however you don't here much traffic
And passed 8pm you wouldn't know there was a road there
- Adams (8/5): - Friendly staff, nice breakfast
- Gautam (9/5): - We stayed at The Island View A1 in Berwick-upon-Tweed for a brief overnight break on our journey from Edinburgh to London — and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be. The accommodation was welcoming and comfortable, with a delicious breakfast that set the tone for a lovely morning. Our hosts were gracious and attentive, making us feel instantly at ease.
A special mention to the kind cleaning lady who shared local gems with us, including the nearby Holy Island — a tidal island where the road disappears beneath the sea during high tide. Though we couldn’t visit this time, it’s firmly on our list for next time.
We did manage a walk along the nearby seaside, and it was nothing short of breathtaking — golden sands, untouched beauty, and a sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere.
Though our stay was brief, it left a lasting impression. We’ll certainly return the next time we head north. Thank you for a truly lovely experience.
- John (9/5): A welcomed break on a long journey. - The breakfast was well made and filling. The stairs
- sara (8/5): Clean and comfy - Welcoming hosts- clean and comfortable room. Despite being on the A1 it was very quiet. Not a dislike - more a heads up. The bar and restaurant may be closed in the evening in the off season. Probably wise to ring ahead and check.
- John (9/5): - The hosts, charming polite and very helpful, the best Nothing
- Attila (8/5): - Easy location, ample parking, lovely and attentive staff, great breakfast, well cleaned room and bathroom, great value The bed is on the smaller side for a couple but you could argue that it’s even better suited because of that, ha!
- Sophie leigh (10/5): - Firstly, Simon and Sarah were the loveliest of hosts. They were amazing. Our room was lovely, the view was amazing! Our breakfast in the morning was delicious, and our little one loved hers too! We loved the family feel. They even had games in the bar, which our little one loved playing too! They were full of knowledge about the local area, places to go and eat. We did not mind at all that it was just off the A1 as we could hardly hear the road noise at all. Overall, it was a lovely stay and somewhere we'll definitely stay again! Thank you, Simon and Sarah (: Everything was great!
- Julie (7/5): -
