Guest Reviews
- Danielle (8/5): Great value for money, convienent location and welcoming hosts. - Both hosts were friendly & welcoming (fresh flowers & wine in the property). Ideal location for everything you could need, it’s a fairly busy area comparative to other parts. So wouldn’t recommend if looking for a more remote accommodation (personal preference). Incredibly dog friendly, including a fenced garden. Nearby Beckett & Sons coffee shop does a delicious black pudding (make a trip for breakfast). Only constructive feedback would be the mattress, it felt as if it’s seen better days (could be down to personal preference but didn’t find it comfortable).
- Alistair (9/5): It was clean, comfortable and cozy and had all the facilities that we needed. - Hosts were very friendly and helpful
- Catherine (10/5): Really fantastic holiday home, would highly recommend and would love to stay there again. - Fantastic little holiday home. Close to Stornoway town centre (within half hour walk on good footpaths or 5 min drive). Really well equipped and very clean and tidy. To get into the garden you do have to go out the main door and into the garden via a gate, so couldn’t let the dog directly outside - but that wasn’t an issue for us.
- Brian (9/5): Lovely peaceful place to stay - The location was great and suited our needs
- Ian (10/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Enjoyable stay to see family lovely cosy house to come back to - It’s location

- Betty (10/5): Nice little house in Stornoway which has everything and great base for exploring the islands - Very friendly and helpful hosts. The house had absolutely everything we needed and was in great condition. Fresh flowers in living room and bottle of wine added to the warm welcome Nothing we didn’t like
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (8/5): Comfortable and homely bungalow with everything you could need. - Quiet location just a few minutes drive from Stornoway town centre. Having an entire house was wonderful. Fully equipped kitchen is great for when you don’t want to eat out. The shower malfunctioned during our stay and Ken fitted a new one that same day. The bed is comfy and soft. Owners live across the street and are welcoming and helpful. They even left us flowers and wine (which didn’t last long!). Highly recommend this as a base for exploring Lewis and Harris if you want to be self catering. WiFi signal comes and goes a bit.
- Ruth (10/5): A wonderful New Year in stunning Lewis. - So handy for Stornoway/the ferry and lovely the owners are across the road if needed. It was a wee but cold as sitting at minus outside but heating locked at 20 - we could have asked for it to be unlocked but didn’t like to bother people.
- Willem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clive (7/5): The home is great, well serviced and friendly owners. Close to town for supplies and we were treated very well. - Location, price, attention to details for long stay. Because the rental accepts animals, urine had to be cleaned from a bedroom carpet which was overlooked from a previous tenant. Would advise owners to pull out carpet and install tiles or inspect more frequently.
- Beth (10/5): Exceptional - Quite area, easy access to different places, nice back garden for dogs, everything you could need, shops close on a Sunday, we arrived Saturday night, isobel gave us milk, butter and bread to get us started, and a nice bottle of wine and fresh flowers,
- Maria (10/5): Excellent place to stay - Fabulous. The place is amazing and the hosts are lovely, just what we needed. Amazing location to go anywhere and very convenient for the ferry.
Thanks very much for such a lovely stay and we will back for sure soon! Nothing
- Roderick (9/5): Our first time in self-catering accommodation, thoroughly enjoyed it and would do it again - Good location, close to town. Super, friendly hosts who, due to storm warnings, checked our travel (ferry) arrangements the night before and reassured us that we were welcome to stay an extra night in the event of our ferry being cancelled. Good facilities in the accommodation. Very good value. Wife found house a little cool for her liking , not keen on the 'green' heating system.
- Ian (10/5): Spacious, well-provided accommodation. - Plenty of space, all necessities provided - very thoughtful. Bed rather soft
- Ronnie (9/5): Superb -
- Sheena (10/5): Ideal location just 5 minutes from town and great to have a nice place that allowes pets too. Ken and Isobel couldn’t ha - Ideal location and lovely house with a garden for a family trip. N/A
- Sandra (10/5): A super visit and got to know Stornoway and the island a little better - Good location on the edge of Stornoway. Good walk into town. Close to the ferry. House is well equipped, warm and clean.
- peter (10/5): Nice stay on Lewis - First time trip to Lewis to see a recently retired relative and take a look at the island. The owners...ken and Isobel we the best and helped us out when we forgot some thing upon departure
- Suzanne (9/5): A fabulous house on a fabulous island. Would 100% recommend. - Lovely home with everything you could need for a lovely stay in Stornoway. The hosts were super helpful and friendly and made sure we had everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The only very slight downside was the wifi not always working, but that could very well have been down to the weather at the time.
- Corinne (8/5): Great accommodation in a quiet neighborhood, but not far from town. - Excellent space for a couple or family of four. The kitchen had excellent facilities. The WiFi worked great. We appreciated the ability to do a little laundry at the property. We found it was a little cool during our stay.
- Jean (9/5): cozy house with everything we needed! - comfortable house !
- Kathryn (10/5): 5* Thank you - Friendly welcome, clean, lots of information available, everything we needed was there, great facilities. Lovely touches like flowers and wine. Great position for us to explore the island from, close to amenities we needed and ferry port for early ferry home. Loved it all.
- Lindsay (8/5): - A warm, comfortable and well equipped property which suited our needs nicely. An Airigh is in a quiet residential area and in very easy reach of all Stornoway's amenities. The Kennedys are generous owners who went out of their way to be helpful.
- John (8/5): Very good -
- SUE (10/5): - Perfect property perfect location, exceptionally clean and very friendly hosts.
- Alan (9/5): Superb - The locality, friendship of owners, amenities available were of high standard Nothing really
- Marietta (10/5): Perfect tranquil holiday - It is a very well-equipped house with a garden in a quiet location. Perfect for unwinding and relaxation. Nothing.
- Helen (10/5): Amazing property near beach - Immaculately clean, lovely helpful hosts and near the beach.
- C (10/5): Very comfortable house - was perfect for our stay - Great stay. Owners welcomed us in person and showed us everything and were very helpful and responsive in our discussions are arrival as our details only finalised at the last minute. Very kindly helped regarding travel to airport.
- Ian (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. Everything was spotless and well thought out. Good distance to be able to walk into town or to coast. Would definitely stay here again
- David (10/5): Well appointed little holiday home - Comfortable and exceptionally well equipped small semi- detached bungalow in suburbs of Stornoway, 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive from town centre.
- Margaret (10/5): Family trip - Professional friendly and helpful, the owners visited to check that we were satisfied with the accommodations and to offer advice on the Island, situated in a quiet cul de sac on the outskirts of town, minutes from facilities and roads, ideal base for exploring and handy for the ferry terminal
- John (10/5): Great place to stay. Lovely hosts - This was a great place to stay. Kenny and Isobel welcomed us and explained where everything was. They stay across the road so they were on hand if necessary. They also gave us information on places to eat and taxi firms. A nice touch was that they provided coffee, milk, bacon etc.
- Mike W. (10/5): Welcoming and cosy - A very tidy and cosy house in a quiet cu-de-sac. Thankfully very warm considering the snow and icy weather outside. Ideal for our requirements being not too far from the hospital and the town centre. We were well received by the owners who explained all the salient points.
A place that we definitely use again - thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A week equipped house. Owners lived just across the road so had a personal welcome. The ferry was delayed on the way home due to bad weather, so an extra nights stay was required - this was done with no fuss at all
- Muriel (10/5): Maison confortable propreté irréprochable . - Les propriétaires de la maison sont très accueillants . La maison est bien placée nous pouvons aller à pied au centre ville. Il ne manque rien.
- Simon (10/5): Nice cottage in Stornoway - The owner of this place is very helpful and friendly. He has provided very useful information and insights into the life of the city. He is one of the best person I have rented from so far and the cottage is very well equipped. The place is mid way between town and airport, so very convenient from me.
