Guest Reviews
- Ken (6/5): OK - Location was ok, room was clean. Hard mattress, thin walls which didn't block enough noise from the room next door.
- Kautz (5/5): It met our needs. It would’ve been nice to have a hairdryer. -
- Robert (9/5): - Location and staff flexibility Shower is old school -- with the shower head a bit low for a 6 foot tall person
Dish TV system kept bugging out
- Jeffery (6/5): - Location and price
Water pressure in the shower Pillows were flat and uncomfortable. Frig was unplugged so it was warm.
Not enough shampoo or soap.
- Roberta (7/5): It was pretty nice for an inexpensive place. - Bathroom is nice and towels are good. The room was clean. The location is very convenient, the conference I attended that day was right around the corner. I really disliked the odor of the room from the cleaning agent, my sleep shirt even smelled bad the next night. Also, my room (127) was right next to the parking spots long enough for boat trailers so I couldn't park real close to my room. And in the AM they were getting ready REALLY EARLY which got my dog barking. One of the guys yelled "Shut that dog up" I thought "Go away and he'll stop barking." Why don't you put those guys next to their boats so others don't have to hear their early AM packing? Also, there was a mattress pad on top of the sheet, I thought it should go underneath.
- bruce (5/5): - A bit run down
- Craig (7/5): Convenient and easy to stay there. - Quiet location
- Craig (8/5): Great location following a trip through the redwoods. - Very conveniently located. No complaints. It was fine.
- Laura (7/5): Motel d étape de qualité. - Très bien situé, accessible à toute heure, literie confortable. Chambre un peu dans son jus mais pour un motel de bord de route rien à redire.
- Barragan (8/5): -
- Sara (7/5): Quiet retro motel - Retro motel. Quiet and clean. Spacious room. Room smelled funky. Not overpowering, but just like it needed a deep clean or new carpet?
- Oleksii (8/5): -
- Michele (3/5): Manageable exc for the fleas - Close to area I was visiting Carpet, age, came home with fleas
- Dmitriy (8/5): -
- Dan (7/5): The hotel was ok for the price - Location No breakfast
- Khrystyna (5/5): -
- James (8/5): Had a great stay warm comfortable. - Great location great staff good room great shower clean well maintained. Not that I disliked, but noted the shower towels could be upgraded to a bit thicker more absorbing style.
- Cathy (1/5): Wasn't expecting much because of price, but poorer than I expected. - Toilet ran and very low. Refrig not plugged in on arrival and when plugged in was very noisy. Heater very noisy. No fan in BR. Dated decor. Too close to hwy 101 for noise. Poor bedding
- Christoph (5/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): Great value at a great place - Very nice place to stay. It was quit and has everything we needed. I was pleasantly surprise the price and the location. Beats staying at the best weather nearby by miles!!! With be back for sure.the owners were very nice and the location for what we needed was perfect! Thank you!
- Shannon (10/5): -
- Ty (5/5): - Not enough electrical outlets
Old carpet
- Jianzhou (3/5): -
- Rita (6/5): Good value and fine for a one night stay. - I didn't know that they had a breakfast. I didn't do the check in. The bed was comfortable and that is #1 for me. The heater in the room was noisy. We turned it down and closed the bathroom door so it wouldn't come on so often at night.
- Melanie (8/5): Good for one night, passing through, with a dog. - The room was comfortable. Dog friendly. Had a decent restaurant next door, and coffee shop down the street. Ice machine was broken, so had to go to the store. No offerings for breakfast.
- Stephanie D (8/5): Nice place in small town - Staff were very nice. Place was clean. Not enough hot water..it was very warm.
- Guest (4/5): -
- Marcia (9/5): -
- Westphal (6/5): -
- Heather (4/5): Cleanliness is next to Godliness - Small town with great vibes. Housekeeping could be significantly improved. We travel a lot and mostly during the off-season. Basic tasks, dusting headboards and mirrors, wiping down walls, should be done every checkout.
- Le (10/5): It is a pleasure to stay in Motel Garberville . - Excellent service . Good location .
- Soham (7/5): -
- Wiebke (3/5): - Ebenerdig und gute Parkmöglichkeiten, Supermarkt in der Nähe
Sehr gute Anbindung zum Naturpark Überall Warnschilder vor Diebstahl, kaum Möglichkeiten zum Essen gehen
- Natasha (10/5): -
- L Ruth (9/5): Nice, clean Mitel -
- Schutz (10/5): -
- Morganti (5/5): Lousy parking - No breakfast
- Yun (7/5): 性价比不错 - 房间简单,但是紧凑够用 空调有些吵
- Colleen (8/5): Good - The room was clean. the bed wasn't very comfortable. It was too hard.
- Heike (7/5): Keine Überraschung. - Die Lage war gut für die Avenue of Giants. Föhn gab es auf Anfrage. Kein Frühstück.
- Aireen (8/5): I had a pleasant day before my race next morning. The owners and staff were welcoming and helpful. I would highly recom - Flexible check in. I called ahead to let them know that I was checking in late and the staff and owners were accommodating during an after my stay for a nearby marathon race. Parking was convenient. Had a safe and quiet day on one night has the basics and bring a hair dryer if you need to.
- Yasmin (8/5): - Ideal als Zwischenstopp für eine Nacht. Bequemes Bett, genügend Stauraum, ruhig (kein Strassenlärm), sauber. -
- Allyson (6/5): - I appreciated the cleanliness of the room and surrounding areas. Next door to a restaurant, very convenient. Room had a mini fridge and microwave which was great for leftovers. The bed felt like cardboard so not a very good night sleep, but all else considered, not bad.
- Betsy (6/5): It was a good location for us and was clean and comfortable. - We were just passing through and needed someplace to stay for the night. This was inexpensive and on our route so it worked well for us. It was clean and comfortable. Didn't really like the drive up window to check in and the man behind the glass was not super friendly. Ice machine was broken.
- Mike (9/5): - There was not enough electrical outlets to take care of my needs
- Inna Glazman (9/5): - We had double queen room and it is very good size. Super clean. The hotel is very close to freeway and only `5 min away from Avenue of the Giants, which was a main goal of our visit. The town has major grocery store and few places to eat. The hotel staff was fantastic, very friendly and accomodating. We liked a small table with 2 chairs, where we can eat. The most important for us, was that room was super clean. Everything in the room is super old. The towels and ancient, they look like one more trip to laundry and you will be able to see through them. No hair dryer in the room. We did not want to ask for one, since i have a travel size hair dryer with us always. The chairs to sit on by the table have cushions so warn out, it feels like you are falling down to the floor, there no more cushioning left.

- Diane (6/5): -
- Sven (7/5): -
- Robert (8/5): - Nice clean, quiet property with very comfortable beds. Shower packets are virtually impossible to open while in the shower. Had to use my teeth to get a grip.
- Ilka (10/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): - Often these small private owned Motels have musty smell or cleanliness issues. This motel looked nicely kept on the outside, had plenty of parking right at room , rooms were clean spacious, and best of all smelled fresh!
- Richard (8/5): - Nice room with a comfy bed. Restaurants and grocery store near by.
- Jefferey S (8/5): - Got what we paid for
- Didzis (8/5): Very good for 1 night long stay for visiting Redwood State park! - Nice village, room was clean, everything you need was there for 1 night stay. Coffee, but here is a
different coffee culture with Europe.
- Jason (8/5): - Clean, quaint. Nothing special, but well maintained at quiet.
- Steve (5/5): - No breakfast coffee pot single cup and corner of bathroom made it difficult to use outside walkway lights very bright leaking through side of drapes woke me up several times during the night. Everything seemed to be done to check off the box versus make visit enjoyable. E.g. teeny bar of soap too small to effectively use in shower
- Jatinder (9/5): Worth staying. I recommend them . - Location , Accessibility , Cleanliness , Services. All was good
- Sharon (5/5): it’s fine to have a cheap stay - basic to go to sleep town is run down
- Jayne (8/5): Basic motel. Very clean. - Very clean and safe
- Jayne (8/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect landing spot - Such a great place to stay on our way to and from San Francisco! Clean, quiet, VERY comfortable and wonderful service.
- Andrew (10/5): Secret Gem - This is such a great place to stay. Comfortable, clean, great value. Service is kind and prompt. We will be back again and again!
- Iryna (9/5): - Clean place in a convenient location!
- Slaven (9/5): -
- keith (6/5): its good enough for a few nights - Room was ok the the outside looked new. our bathroom the taps were almost falling off and no plug sockets by the bed on both sides
- Mollie (10/5): - Clean room. Comfortable bed.
- Michelle (7/5): -
- Elisa (5/5): -
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The buildings and parking lot of this motel looked very good. The rooms were clean and good sized. I liked that our sink vanity was separate from the toilet/shower room. The only complaint is the style inside is outdated and needs remodeling. It was a great value and very close to everything in Garberville.
- Lopes (1/5): No Bueno - Price seemed legit for the weekend rates and had somewhat of a quiet location. Room was dirty. People were loud and the place was weird people brought tables eating outside my room. I tried to switch to another room due to the noise I was told it wasn't possible. Never stay there again the place was disgusting.
- Lauren Janas (8/5): good cheap place to stay - clean, convenient, perfectly reasonable roadside motel room had a very strong odor (cigarettes? skunk living outside? not sure exactly)
- Brian (8/5): - Room was not ready when we arrived. Management gave us another room. It was nice and quiet. Property was well maintained. We would recommend
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - Good Room - Good Price - Nice
- Robert (3/5): - The hotel was old. There was no staff. The closet was a plywood box, unfinished! Very small! The check in process was difficult even though it seemed we were the only Tennants The in room refrigerator door would barely open, missing feet. I would not stay here again
- Glatzhofer (9/5): Good stay for a good value - Good value for two rooms. Everything worked and check-in and check-out was easy. Nothing
- Bob (6/5): Not worth the savings. - You get what you pay for: cheap mattresses and towels, run down room.
- Gabriele (7/5): -
- Steve (7/5): quick overnight on business trip - Motel was what I expected in this area. All facilities in these small communities could be updated. TV was so so, but wasn't really there for that. Bed was comfortable for one night stay and place looked pretty well booked out.
- Ekaterina (8/5): -
- Emily (8/5): - Clean, comfortable and convenient No bath products in room,, otherwise fine.
- Will (7/5): Convenient location - Convenient location
- Trish (8/5): - Comfortable, quiet
- Lois (10/5): - Downtown
- Ramkumar (8/5): - Did not stay here for long. After a long drive from Crescent city up north through 'Ave of Giants', we crashed here. We loved our hikes among redwoods there. The room was big and it is close to the southern entrance of 'Ave of Giants'. There is a good coffee shop/bakery (Il forno) nearby. Tried coffee there. The room was clean. The owner provided a blow dryer that we asked for. All rooms were on same level.
- Lisa (8/5): - It was good for a stop over driving from San Francisco to the Oregon coast. The guy at the front was very nice and check in was quick. Bed was ok, sheets were scratchy, but it was not expensive and it was clean and quiet. Lots of homeless walking around the town but no problems. Just like a 1950s motor lodge. I had a lot of baggage to bring inside and it was super close to my car.
- Duy Thien (8/5): - Came here in summer 2020 and it was OK. Came back here summer 2025 and it's gotten much better now. Price is a bit high but improvements make up for it.
- Gonzales (6/5): - Room had not been vacuumed. Towels and bedsheets were very rough.
- From NorCal (8/5): Great for Business Trip in SoHum! - Ice Machine, Clean Room, Wonderfully Friendly Staff - We will see you next year!!! n/a
- Lawrence (10/5): - Wonderful bed for my wife who has back issues. Excellent AC. We were in the back corner and it was very quiet.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Cute little motel - Clean and spacious room. Two walls had wood paneling that really added to the forest-like feel of our vacation. Very long wood veneer desk in great condition. A well taken care of motel.
Restaurant next door was open late, with good Mexican and American food.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Great facility, location was great, near restaurants and the staff is really nice.
- Luc (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not worth to stay here - Dirty and unclean befsheets.
No bin in bathroom
Towels are smelly and unclean
There was one used towel in bathroom
Towels are Kept on Toilet seat , very unhygienic
- Katherine (7/5): - Clean and safe with indoor bolt. Good value. Older bedspreads.
