Guest Reviews
- Melissa (8/5): - Beds are good The shower was moldy but I bleached it.
- Gloria (7/5): - Everything else was good There was no mini fridge. After using shower there was a big puddle of water on the floor l believe it went through or between shower curtain and wall
- Mehmet (4/5): -
- McKinney (3/5): - Location Only one outlet to use, no refrigerator, water or hair dryer.
- shyniece (1/5): You get what you pay for!! - I like the sheetz gas station that was right next to it. I didn't like that it's wasn't clean. They had a quarter of a roll of tissue in the bathroom. It was spider webs everywhere.
- Sandra (2/5): - Roaches all-over the room. Live roaches crawling on the room and bathroom walls. It was disgusting. We were not able to sleep scared of what will crawl onto the bed. The sheets looked clean. However, the bed spread was sticky and smelled. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.
- Natalia (2/5): - The most disgusting hotel that I’ve ever stayed at. Roaches!!! Stains everywhere, including sheets and towels. No security at the hotel anyone can come in, including our room because the rooms keys were left in the room since they have no lobby/reception. And the tub did not drain, and toilet leaked all night long. The worse of the worse.
- kristeno702 (2/5): Horrible. Just turn around and drive home - The worst place I have ever stayed at. The room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. There was a cigarette burn on the blanket, lint on the "clean" sheets and bugs. Neither door sealed shut and there was a hole where the floor and wall meet by the window and you could see outside. Due to 'renovations' the doors on the 1st floor were open 24/7 - a major security issue, plus the hallway was freezing since the temp dropped overnight. If it wasn't that cold, I would have slept in my car. I couldn't get out fast enough - but I couldn't even check out until 8:30am. And check-in isn't until 4:30. Also, "due to renovations," you can't even get to your room from the reception area. You have to go back outside to that open door and find your room.
The young lady at the front desk was very polite and efficient, though.
- Zulema (4/5): Serves for a quick rest. - It served its purpose, we just stayed to get some sleep before driving back home from a concert. The room was outdated, the sheets were old and had cigarette burns. There were roaches on the bed. The staff were friendly.
- Kristen (2/5): Zero stars. Turn around and go home. - The worst place I have ever stayed at. The room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. - Christopher (2/5): - The rooms are filthy with bugs but the staff was very nice.
- Julia (2/5): - Only saw 2 staff members. The office only had staff member from 4:30 pm to some time later. There was no access to lobby, staff. Or check in. I could not turn in my key as no staff was available and everything was locked.
Also, it was dirty with roaches.
- mikayla (6/5): - room was dirty and overpriced for how old everything is. staff was very nice though
- Crosson (2/5): Disgusting facility - Bathroom was disgustingly dirty-mold or mildew all over especially where tub and tile walls meet; also on floor corner where tub/floor and wall meets; dirty walls in bathroom and bedroom; dirty/stained shower curtain and window curtain; bed spreads stained/dirty. No toilet paper, tissues, towels or washcloth in bathroom. 2 towels that were in bathroom were draped over shower curtain rod. Ordered a non-smoking room and room reaked of cigarettes you could smell it in the curtains and towels do not sure if towels were clean. Nobody in office after 830 pm. Had to wait until 830am next morning for office to open. Office personnel very cooperative but not in charge. Did give us a roll of toilet paper plus went and hot us 2 towels and washcloths from her room upstairs
Beds were so soft you sank when you sat or laid down
- Kyle (2/5): - The room was disgusting. Pillows were filthy. Mildew in the corners of the rom, terrible musty smell, evf
- Shilpa (2/5): - There were cockroaches everywhere. We left asap.
Did not stay the night. Awful and dirty place. Waste of time and money. I rather sleep in the car, than this place. I should get a refund.
- Melissa (1/5): - Never got to stay their we arrived at 4:30 book in time to be told we did not book a room and that we did not pay for a room booking .com don't want to refund us we had to get another room elsewhere and pay again the staff was rude and would not look at their computer or nothing they over booked told us it was out problem not theirs then laughed at us I want my full refund of 61 dollars were about done with booking com Nothing
- Chieves (1/5): Bad - There were roaches and other bugs. Refrigerator wasn't usable. Bad plumbing in bathroom. Left that location at 1130pm. Got another hotel in Clearfield. I should get a refund. Horrible experience for my companion 😢
- Dawn (4/5): - The sheets on the one bed was dirty. They literally stuck together like candy or something was on them went to the other bed and there was a small cigarette hole in the one side and some black on the sheets. The room smelled like smoke or something bad.
- Victor (8/5): - My room was in need of refurbishment, everything was clean enough, but very old. Everything I needed, food, gasoline was in easy walking distance. For the money, I would stay here again.
- David (2/5): - I will not be returning, though it served its purpose
- Gordon and Diane (2/5): What Stay? - BOO!!!!!! Had reservations.
Arrived late due to road work. Lobby door was locked, lights were off. No one answered the phone. Back door going into building was propped open with a brick. I could walk in but no one was around. I have been billed for this room which I could not stay in because no one was there.
- robert (10/5): - Staff was warm and friendly
- Brittany (2/5): - COCKROACHES! Dirty- Lighting does not work Fridge in room was dirty- Bathroom around toilet was dirty- Cockroaches in room crawling on the "Desk" area and also in the bathroom. DO NOT recommend was a terrible experience
- Abdulnaser (1/5): Extremely baaad - Nothing It is the dirtiest hotel I have been although the weather is freezing out side but there are many cockroaches in the beds and toilets
The staff is very rude
The smell of pillows very bad
When you enter the corridor the smell of the we*ds very strong
If you are forced to stay here you must bring pillow with blankets towels, shampoo
- Cindy (2/5): - I first got a call saying that they didn’t have a room available for two night and the next day they call saying that they had to change for one night I had to look for a different hotel and now they changed me both night without staying there it’s unfair.
- Susan (2/5): - Didn’t Check in : no front desk staff at 3:30 in afternoon.
Peering into front desk area : dirty, shabby. Outside showed wear and tear. Left before checking in.
- scott (2/5): So bad, it didn’t even have a bible - Wow what can I say. Based on the price and location I was not expecting the Ritz Carlton, however I have never had such a bad experience. Traveled here for the Penn State game and when we arrived for check in at 9:30pm there was nobody in the office, no way of calling and actually getting a hold of anyone live to speak with. Went next door to Scheetz to see if they were able to contact their neighbor. They attempted but “she” never answered. Was told that the worker there had told the folks working at Scheetz that whoever shows up after she leaves is out of luck. Eventually she did show up and checked us in.
Then we went to the rooms. Hallways wreaked of smoke, doors to the hallways were not secured and there was a little sign at the top of the steps indicating that the one portion of the 2nd floor was closed due to reconstruction. Doors to the room must be from the 70’s with old style key for entry.
When we entered we found the curtains tattered and not able to be completely hung on the rod allowing the large parking lot light to shine through. The bed itself was not bad to sleep on, however there was no top sheet, just the fitted sheet then a very rough tattered blanket that must also be a holdover from the 70’s. I moved the center night stand forward to plug my cell phone in and there was debris all over the floor, under the bed and under and behind the night stand.
Shower had shampoo residue and hair in the walls, towels and washcloth sparse and see thru.
- Jacob (2/5): DO NOT GO HERE - Place looks like a homeless shelter and closed at 8:30 so could not get my room. Very sketchy neighborhood
- William (6/5): Pleasant -
- Esther (8/5): Very good -
- John (2/5): - Liked absolutely nothing . Brush teeth , rinse , water leaks from sink all over floor . Cockroach made an appearance , burns in top bed cover , tv never worked , light fixtures are very dated , just a total unappealing, dirty cess pool . Security ? lol . Outside doors propped open , leaves , bugs , animals , unsavoury people can just come in with the wind . Only positive I can possibly give it , the roof never fell on us
- Vadim (3/5): Poor -
- Ed (4/5): - Not well maintained
- Patricia (2/5): Awful - Could not check in until very late there was no one at the front desk all day no towels in the room had to ask for them and they were the size of a hand towel the floor was sticky the bed wasn't comfortable the room wasn't clean
- john (6/5): - Saves you about $1000 over staying in state college for the weekend. Room was okay. Need office open more hours for late checkin.
- Erin (2/5): - Here's the biggest problem: I stayed there in Aug, but needed to cancel a reservation in Sept. The hotel said expedia needed to do it, expedia said the hotel needed to do it. Someone was lying, and I got charged, even after 4 conversations, me offering to shift my dates or take a voucher. The hotel mgmt called twice saying they were trying...somehow they could call me but Expedia couldn't connect with them. It is just a bunch of BS. We interacted with decent people there, which always makes a stay worth it for me, but that is tarnished. There are other thing I could complain about but Im staying focused on BS lying.
- Ed (2/5): - We came with the updated photos this place is not updated. I found a cockroach in the toilet upon arrival. Went to desk as I got there at 8:15 they close 8:30 so couldn’t complain. Went and got cockroach spray and that brought them out in bunches. We ended up sleeping in our truck
- Mindy (1/5): Definitely do not recommend - We had booked online through Booking.com on August 26 and when we showed up on Saturday, September 14, they did not have our reservation or confirmation number our name and zero rooms, we had driven four hours to a hotel that we couldn’t even stay at even though I had a physical confirmation numbers and emails.
Definitely do not recommend
Walk into the lobby the hostess has no idea what she was doing. Her clothes were tattered stains up her backside a three-year-old running around. She really didn’t know how to do her job so she had to call another person on the phone. .
When we got in the office was closed from 12:30 to 4:30 so we had to wait there for four hours to still have them tell us that our confirmation through the website was not available
- Brian (2/5): - Cockrochs crawling across the floor, sink in bathroom leaked all over the floor when used.
- Suzy (2/5): - When i arrived after a long day of driving my reserved room had been given to someone else and there were no other rooms.
- Eric (6/5): - Place hasn't changed much in the past 20 years. Staff is fine, but the place could use some serious help renovation wise. And even then, given the area it's in, that might not even be feasible. The only real plus is the Sheetz immediately next door.
- Kim (1/5): Bad - Front desk is closed from 12:30 to 4:30. We had to wait outside until someone showed up at 4:30.
In the morning, front desk was closed until 8:30 a.m., which is ridiculous when you need to check out!
- Joseph (2/5): Literally a roach motel - Room was dated and musty, and the star of the night is pictured below. ROACH.
- juan carlos (6/5): Bad experience - This place have alot of internal problems but first the reception has to be more friendly and more respectful they have to know went ther is a good working people or people with drug problems they loosing customers like my self acting like that
- virgil (2/5): - Do yourself a favor and pay a little more to stay somewhere else.
- Lisa (2/5): - We didn't actually stay here. After seeing the room and the area we decided to find a new hotel. The place was sketchy and seemed unsafe. The two people in the lobby seemed sketchy. I DO NOT recommend this place.
- Kristin (2/5): - Got there early and had to wait to check in time. The manager was very rude. Wouldn’t let me check in because the other person and children didn’t have IDs. She said she needed IDs for everyone staying in the room. Even though I was the one paying for it and I had my ID.
- Takashi (3/5): Poor - The rooms not clean. A cockroach was moving in the bath room.
- Amit (3/5): Poor -
- James (5/5): Passable -
- William (4/5): - There was really nothing to like. There were roaches in our room. Also the bathroom was very dirty. The only plus was it was pet friendly.
- Kelly (2/5): Very poor -
- Leola (2/5): - There was cockroaches in the room
- Kelleen (2/5): - This place should not even be operational …disgusting
- Laura (2/5): Please do not stay here! - This place is right out of a scary movie. So many bugs in the room, filthy sheets, cigarette holes in the coverlets, power outlets pulled out if the wall. The only thing this place has going for it is a helpful desk attendant. We arrived late Friday night, so had no where else to go and had to stay the night. We checked out first thing the next morning, cutting our stay, and, sadly, our visit with our Penn State child, a day short. The pictures do not show the current state of this place.
- N3069KWcathyk (2/5): Gross and cochraoch infested - Cochroachs in the room.
The most disgusting place we've ever stayed. We will never come back to this hotel. And I highly suggest you do not waste your money here. There's nothing to do in the area to keep us busy.
- Kirstin (2/5): - We had to leave this property in the middle of the night due to cockroaches EVERYWHERE and pay for another night at a different hotel. This place is DISGUSTING and needs removed from expedia.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - Looked like everything was set up for breakfast but when I went in the morning, no food was put out. This was around 9:45 am. Most places would still have breakfast available at that time. Room was comfortable and clean but the bath towels were so thin they were almost like dishtowels.
- Kowalski (1/5): Bad -
- Joe (2/5): - DO NOT STAY HERE!! It is filthy, smelly and cockroach infested! The towels and toilet were dirty, the bathroom was moldy and the thirty year old mattresses were stained and uncomfortable. There was no soap and only a third of a roll of toilet paper. If it wasn’t 1am when we arrived we would have got back on the road. In hindsight we would have been better of sleeping in our car. This place should be condemned and shut down.
- P4697PFjoet (2/5): Disgusting - Filthy, smelly, cockroach infested room complete with no soap, less than a third of a roll of TP, dirty towels, dirty toilet, and badly stained mattresses. This place literally should be condemned and shut down. If it wasn't 1AM we would have got back on the road. Avoid this place at all means. You would be better off sleeping in your car.
- Miller (5/5): Passable - Had roaches and rug was very dirty!
- Aureo (2/5): - Very dirty room with bugs and other insects. Bathroom with not so clean totals and no soap or shampoo
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kayla (4/5): Disappointing -
- Lee (1/5): Did NOT stay. Filthy @ - Truthfully ? This building needs demolished. We did NOT stay in the room. We drove back home after our event. I asked for a refund and I am praying they comply. The room was dirty. Mold in the shower. Several broken tiles. No towel holder, broke off wall. Sticky stiff on counter, smoke detector hanging off the wall. Stained curtains with webs. Roaches in the drawer. A broken down car outside. Very dirty, very scary. I have pictures. VERY DISTURBING. Honestly, I would investigate this place
- Nikki (10/5): - Super nice owner and rooms are very clean
- Jodi (2/5): - There was roaches in our room it was very dirty and smelled bad
- Tanya (8/5): Inexpensive- decent old hotel - It is Very old hotel but the room was clean n comfortable. If you are looking for a very inexpensive hotel option when traveling on a budget and need just an overnight stay this hotel is good for that
- Tyler (4/5): never again - not much, but a sheetz in walking distance kind dirty, room door handle very loose, no very secure feeling
- Polachko (10/5): Exceptional -
- 988riverr (2/5): TERRIBLE HORRIFYING PLACE - this place sucked, i couldnt even us e the bathroom because there was human feecle matter on the toilet seat. mice droppings everywere and i woke up with a bug ON MY FACE, the towels were already wet and the man knocking on my door at 2:00 am saying waaa waattterr really creeped me out. the shower curtains had yellow stains and the couch was very mildewed and it stank of rotten food everywhere
- Cynatta (1/5): The hotel refuse to take cash, so we had to leave and find another hotel. We did not stayed there. - Nothing The Hotel refuse to accept cash
- Allen (2/5): Never again, for a couple bucks more I can have a room that is much nicer and in a nicer neighborhoo - Location was close to my destination; room was quiet Missing light bulbs, beat up furninture, chipped paint, huge gaps in doors that let leave blow in from outside, old carpet, old caulking on tub, no heat in hallways (exit doors propped open, 35 degrees outside)
- Richards (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (4/5): Poor Place - The hallway reaked of smoke from the rooms that allowed it. The check in was delayed by us arriving a little late but it was before 10 pm. There was a cockroach in the room. There was no room darking shades and the window was rather large. My daughter was in fear for bed bugs in the room. So she did not sleep well. The only good part of this stay was the Scheetz station right next door. I will never stay at this motel ever again.
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would not stay here again - Misplaced my reservation, smelled of smoke, no continental breakfast as advertised, dirty floors, hair all over showers walls, toilet had stool on it, needs remodel, under construction, no soap, towels had holes, sheets were well worn and stained
- Sylvia (8/5): - I believe we asked for a queen bed but got 2 doubles.
- trjh_sapp (2/5): Absolutely disgusting - If I could rate this place a zero, I would! It was the filthiest, most disgusting place I have had the displeasure of staying. The hall and room smelled like alcohol and stale cigarettes. The toilet seat had splattered feces all over it. The floors had not been vacuumed in quite a while. I thought I dropped something and got on the floor to see if it was under the bed only to find both beds had garbage and filth under them. I found fake fingernails on the floor. The towels in the bathroom were stained. We would have checked out but they close the front desk!!! When I did get to check out, I asked to speak to the manager the woman at the front desk called her and she refused to get on the phone and told her to tell me to write down my complaint. I requested a call back but never got one. Please avoid this place, I am not sure if the people leaving 5 star reviews are workers or friends of workers. This place is horrid.
- Debbie (10/5): - Front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Easy check in. The inn is on the dirty side. I knocked over my water I was drinking and mopped the carpet up with a towel and the towel turned brown. The sheets and towels were clean and the bathroom fairly clean (there were a few hairs in the sink). We were only there to sleep for a Penn State game weekend so the price was much better than staying in town. It was nice and quiet.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay here - This was a terrible stay. One room smelled moldy - the other had no TV remote available so you could only watch chanel that was last used - SYFY- Felt bad for staff - but really - this place should close until renovations are complete- the on-line pictures do not match what you get
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel was very old and in run down condition. No elevators, our room was on the second floor and down the end of the hallway there was all caution tape up indicating do not enter. Did not know what happened there. Room was very old and had old TV in it with no remote control and room smelt very musty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This motel seems to be half section eight housing and half guests. Room smelled like smoke, body oder with a touch of butterscotch. Slept with one eye open and was out of there in the AM
- mimio-4H1660QC (2/5): Disgustingly Filthy Place - When we arrived in February ( temp 20 degrees), upon entering our room, it was as cold in the room as it was outside. Heater gave little heat and even after almost 4 hours it was only about 50 degrees. Looking around I found dirt , soap scum in tub and mold growing around the grout. Sofa was so stained there was no way I'd sit on it. I sat the whole time waiting on my husband to return with my coat and gloves on trying to keep warm. Once my husband returned from his meeting, (I had no way to go anywhere) we left and told the desk person we could not stay in such a filth room. She promised to refund our money with 7-10 working days. It never happened. Called back and the girl at desk promised to call me back next day . Still nothing. Advertised as smoke free and it wreaks of smoke. Never again would I ever go there. This place should be shut down due to health issues.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The hotel was very dated (think 1970s). I don't need much and did not expect much for $100 during Penn State football season. This place was about 30 mins from campus. However, the condition of the property itself was bad. Our shower did not work, our room smelled bad, and the front desk was not manned after 10 pm so no one to call to report a problem. Suprisingly this place was full.
- pickletinman (2/5): Dive Motel - Horrible motel! Stay away...dirty, dingy, no amenities. Beds are very uncomfortable. Bathroom & shower are dirty. Ceiling chipped. Not much positive to say other than coffee in the lobby in the morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): PSU trip - Room did its job. Only needed a place to rest our heads for one night. Room was clean and beds were decently comfy.
- MaryOswald (8/5): - The room was clean. The continental breakfast was disappointing. The bathroom ceiling was peeling, could use a renovation.
- Samantha (8/5): No frills hotel convenient to PSU - Staff was nice and welcoming. Our room was what we expected from the price and pictures. It was a convenient drive to PSU for a football game and Sheetz being right next door was also convenient.
- Rusty (8/5): Good but old - It was clean, but it is old. Things need to be replaced. Old light fixtures that are faded or rusted, old wall paper that is peeling, that sort of thing
- Verified traveler (4/5): A place to sleep if you cannot find somewhere else - The listing is incorrect saying the desk is open 24 hours. The desk closes at 10:30 pm. That said, the desk clerk and owner were able to accommodate my very late arrival without complaint. The breakfast is just coffee. The place is a very old motor lodge from the 50’s with very few maintenance updates. The sink faucet dropped and the mini fridge clicked. There was a nasty stain in the carpet of some sort by the mini fridge. The beds were reasonably comfortable considering the lower-end mattresses. The linens were clean. The doors were old fashions key lock type that had seen better days. There was passable WiFi.
- David (4/5): Very Old - Not well maintained. Very outdated!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was easy to get in and out of traffic wise. Parking lot was large enough also.
- harleydrives (2/5): EW - If I could rate this place a -0000, I would!!!! Very disappointed. I was heading up north due to a family emergency and had no where to stay. I am ashamed of staying here and will never be coming back. It is disgusting and housekeepers expect you to clean up after YOURSELF!!!! Ridiculous!!!
- Debbi (4/5): - No lightbulbs in some lights, no microwave, large burn hole in blanket, tv had no signal, hallways smell musty, limited continental breakfast, no room phone
- Verified traveler (2/5): - bab, bab, bab, bab, bab, bab, bab, nothing good to say, sorry , but never again it a bad place to stay
- Kathleen (2/5): Outdated - Outdated. No light in bathroom. Cobwebs hanging from ceiling. No hot water.
- Mitch (4/5): - Smelled of mold, dogs and feeet. I had to go to the SHeetz next door to purchase car deodorizers for the air conditioner.
