The property feels very dated for the price, and our main concern was the possible presence of mold. That said, it served its purpose for a one-night stay while attending a wedding, and the staff was very pleasant.
• Shannon-Lynn (10/5): Family getaway - Great location with fantastic amenities at the inn! There are many activities for kids, including a playground, indoor pool, volleyball court, lawn games, and even a fire pit. I highly recommend staying here.
• David (10/5): - Outside a small country town (definitely need a car), so you can't walk to it, but there's an amusing trail on the property. They have a good charger for electric cars.

• Verified traveler (8/5): 2025 tour, M&M - Very friendly staff. Had a problem with the tv set up but the young lad at the front desk came right away and guided us through the process efficiently. Room was renovated and good space. Even had a table and two chairs. There’s no phone, you have to use your cell. We left early around 7:30 am and no place to deposit room key so we left it in the room. Lighting in the room was very poor. That’s the main reason we didn’t give a 5 star rating.

• Claudio (10/5): - Great location 5min drive to beach. My family really enjoyed the large landscape of nature at The Ashwood. We brought food in coolers and used the complimentary bbq. Large tables to sit family to eat outside. The fridge in the room was spacious and cold. The pool is ideal for winter but the sauna is great! The fire is nice you can purchase bag of wood for $10. We brought s’mores. Bring bug spray to more enjoy at night. The nature trail was lovely. We enjoyed the text msg communications. Would stay again for sure. Bring all your summer supplies and would recommend 2day stay or more to enjoy the weather in summer.

It was confusing at first, as the restaurant beside it has a sign Permanently Closed and we couldn’t find the office to check in. The person cleaning the rooms also did check in and I’m not sure he understood me. We couldn’t find him to check out. The TV was so high tech we couldn’t figure it out. It would be good if someone had shown us.

• Verified traveler (4/5): very disappointed - This "Inn", third rate motel, cost over $500 for 2 nights. We were expecting a room that was sparking clean with better furniture, a lock on both doors that provided better security. We expected to find ice and food machines. We did not expect the smell of chorine from the pool. We have stayed here a few years ago and didn't find so many negative issues.

• Cheryl (8/5): Pleasant weekend. - The effort is there; updated flooring and some newer decor for example. But there is a long way to go.... We were looking for a room for 4 adults and an almost adult (18 next week). It was a pleasure to find a room with 3 queen beds. The room was set up for 3 - or a couple and their 2 kids perhaps. The bed in the main room was fully set up with 4 pillows; the 2 beds upstairs had 2 total per bed. Likewise, there were 3 bottles of water. Minor detail. However, there were only 3 bath towels. This was rectified with a quick text where 2 (slightly grey) towels were delivered pretty quickly. It was a bare minimum with 2 hand towels and 2 face cloths. Hotel towels are not very large and as such, more are required. I appreciate the contactless aspect they are trying strive for but not everyone has their phone in their hand at all times.....
• David (10/5): - The unit was very clean, but smelled of cleaning chemicals and it was hard to air it out. Quite comfortable but the room could have done with a table and chairs to eat at or play cards. A large empty space in the room. Also some rugs would have been nice. Some pictures of units showed that. While the unit was fine, it was a quite underwhelming property and there was no one at reception or to talk to.

• Fayla (8/5): - Contactless check-in was extremely easy, done via text. The room was nice and clean but given the price, some of the things were "tired" (rusty shower rod, stained shower curtain, thin towels) and should be replaced.
• stephen f (8/5): Ashwood stay - The hotel was conveniently located and reasonably priced. It was clean and well appointed and the management were friendly and helpful. However the only downside was that the wi-fi could not connect and we could not use our phones or tablets. We told management and they gave us alternatives, however, none of them worked. While it's not a huge issue, but rather inconvenient as there were a couple of things i needed to attend to, which i was not able to do.

• Ken (10/5): - Very clean everywhere. The room was spotless. The owners were very helpful and nice people. Couldn't do enough for us. If we called for something, they were right there! We couldn't get over the size of the property. Many things for kids to do over a few days. Best to go for a couple nights on the weekend with kids because otherwise the slow days during the first of the week, not everything is open. We will stay again.
• Mary and Rodney (4/5): - We liked that we could park right outside our room and the location was quiet and easy to get to. The room was clean . Our bed and mattress were old and seemed small in size. It was extremely noisy and creaky. So we didn’t sleep very well. The tv was terrible could only get one station and the rest was pay for view. No written directions for tv use. Cable with a guide would have been better. The bath tub and shower were old and small.

We also were able to watch Netflix free of charge on the tv. The saltwater pool was a nice amenity, we enjoyed an evening swim and the water temp was cool but nice. The hotel was quiet, we didnt run into any other guests or staff due to the contactless check in and out by text message which was a new thing to me, but worked ok. They have a playground onsite and a little trail. Im sure it is a nice setting in warmer weather Overall would recommened and would stay again Is only 2 mins from main st bayfield.

No coverage at the front desk, only 3 tv stations unless you have Netflix or Hulu or something along those lines and 2 of the stations showed the same show.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Mixed review - The room was large and clean, the bed was comfortable. The stay itself was weird, with the entire customer experience being via text message. We did not see a single person who worked at the inn the time we were there, check in and check out was all via text, no one was at the front desk when we arrived. At night we were the only car in the parking lot, no staff or other guests appeared to be onsite.

Very spacious rooms with all essentials you need. Bathrooms shower need renovation and bathtub drain unclogged. Good pool, but need to be renovated. Great Tandoori restaurant in the hotel, although a little be overpriced. The hotel is very closed to Bayfield, where you will find great stores and great restaurants and bars for dinning and have some drinks.

There is a good size pool and nice little playground and the room was a decent size and was clean with microwave and mini fridge. A bit dated but that disnt matter to us very much. Easy contact with hotel manager and they offered supplies when needed. We would stay there again.

Our room was across an indoor corridor from the indoor saltwater pool, which, due to COVID, was only available to one household/party at a time. We booked it twice in two days and enjoyed having it all to ourselves! Room very tastefully decorated, good Nespresso coffee provided. Very good communication from the Inn via text. No problems. Enjoyed our stay very much.
• Darlene (8/5): Would recommend - Inn was very comfortable and very clean! The beds were amazing. Firm not hard. Mattress cover also. Pool was warm and clean. Very close to all activities and sights. Innkeeper very respectful and helpful. Use of text with contactless check in and out was convenient and efficient. My only complaint was that the Tandoori restaurant was closed as we stayed from the Sunday to the Monday and is not open. Menu looks amazing. Bayfield is an unique and interesting town. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend as a 3 star Inn. Thanks!
• Francois (2/5): - The worse experience we had , I booked 3 rooms for buisness events , and with the 3 rooms we had issues , washrooms not clean hair and dirt everywhere , we spent the night to kill bugs ,drunk peoples came and knock on the door after midnight 😡, peoples talked loudly in the corridor , no restaurant , bar , pool we were restricted to go for half an hour by appointment , fake publicity for their pictures on the website , they should update their website so peoples expected that kind of service , at the end they asked us to clean before we leave special the garbage , when we told the hotel what we went through they offer us 5% I paid for 3 rooms almost 1500$ for 2 night , for sure we didn’t reply to this kind of offer , 2 night for 6 persons were a really nightmares ,
