• 249daisyd (8/5): Was very decent! - Was very decent, clean, and a good sized room! Was very convenient and the parking was nearby. I have no complaints!! Staff were nice and kind. It was located at a place where I could walk major historical sites and museums!
• Ryan (6/5): - On the page it says that there is parking available for ¥500, but when you get to the hotel there aren't any signs telling you were to park. I ended up having to park in a random paid lot a couple blocks away from the hotel. When you take the escalator up to the lobby it appears that the hotel is pretty nice. On check in the gentleman asked if I had a car and to put down my plate to pay. He then showed me a map of where to park, it was already too late for that. Once you take the elevator to the floors with the rooms it looks pretty aged and could use some updates. The room was on the smaller side and was clean. The bed was very firm with a single small and extremely flat pillow. Would I stay here again? Probably not, I don't think I received enough value for the amount that it cost to stay here, as it was pretty expensive.

• Yoshihide (8/5): Good breakfast - This hotel is located about 15 minutes on foot from the JR Station. It's a three-minute walk from another station of another line. It's in a very good location for sightseeing in this town. This hotel is relatively old. It does not have a public bath but they provide a good breakfast. The room is quite small but they offer free wifi.

• JChua (10/5): Puts a big 'Smile' on our faces! - Although the location of this Hotel is about 15 mins walk from the Hirosaki train station, the walk to the main sights, Hirosaki park & Castle, is only 8-10 mins. So, we did not mind walking to/fro the Hotel in good weather (October). However, I strongly suspect that there is a 100 yen Loop bus that goes from the train station to the Hotel (please check while at the train station). Upon check in, we were given our requested higher floor on the 9th floor (hope I remember correctly) and we could see Mount Iwaki from our room!!! Twin beds were big and comfy indeed, not stone hard at all! Room was good size, too. There was enough space even for an extra coffee table and two chairs, imagine, very good size in Japan. What is most outstanding feature of this hotel has to be the breakfasts, think egg station, smoked duck or salmon sashimi, curry rice with seafood (yummy!), porridge with salmon roe, western pastries, fruits, salads, etc etc. Every morning, we would eagerly look forward to a 'feast' here ...Not forgetting, we even got a cup of freshly squeezed apple juice one morning, unforgettable indeed. SO be sure to include breakfasts with your stay here, you would certainly not regret it. Diagonally opposite is a Nakasan Shopping mall, with mid range Outlet shopping on the 4th and 5th floor (sorry, no European brands here). You could get quality clothings at 20-50% discount, really good value! However, no Tax free for items bought at this Outlet. At the basement is the Supermarket and a small food court with only 3 stalls (the Ramen stall on your right while standing facing the stalls is doing a roaring business). All in all, our 3 nights stay in Hotel was truly enjoyable and unforgettable. Will be checking out other Smile Hotels when we travel in other parts of Japan.

• Verified traveler (8/5): 気持ちの良い朝食バイキング - 朝食バイキングがとても良かった。メニューが豊富な上に青森ならではの工夫があり、3日間滞在しても飽きることがなかった。特にスタッフがすばらしい。こまめに気を配って、料理も十分補充できていて、配膳台周囲が汁こぼれなど無くとてもきれいで気持ちよく利用できた。 フロントで無料配布している入浴剤も嬉しかった。 場所は駅からは徒歩10分と少し遠いが、観光ポイントに近く、買い物や食事処も充実している。

• Asad (6/5): Tanbo art Trip to Hirosaki - Sept 2018 - The hotel is 15 to 20 min away from the JR train station so location wise it is not convenient if you will be using train. Hotel itself is pretty basic - small room but it is ok to crash for a night or two. The carpeting in the rooms needs changing - looks pretty bad. Breakfast is also pretty basic but for an extra $7 its ok. At least one person on the front desk staff can speak English and they are all polite and helpful. wifi signal was strong in my room so no complaints there. Local area is all commercial with many shops and restaurants. Hirosaki castle and park are about 15 min walk and are worth seeing. Overall its an ok place to crash for a night if you are a solo traveller like me but I will not stay there again because of the distance from JR train station.
• Dale (10/5): - I have stayed at many hotels in Japan and the Smile hotel in Hirosaki has the most comfortable bed. They have a memory foam mattress topper and a nice pillow.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Hirosaki Bargain - Excellent location-Hotel is conveniently located half way between the train station and Hirosaki castle. Staff are friendly and breakfast was delicious although western breakfast options were very limited. Room was comfortable and clean
• Treesagreen (8/5): Location - Need taxi or bus from station...10 minutes walk to Castle..convenience store close by, staff very helpful, room small but adequate, has all you need, very clean and comfortable.
• sallym886 (8/5): Happy times in Hirosaki - We stayed at the hotel for 4 days at the height of the cherry blossom viewing time in April this year. The hotel staff were welcoming, most helpful and hospitable. The staff at breakfast were totally delightful. There was always a beautiful smile, an enthusiastic welcome to the day and a desire to meet any request. We loved going to the dining room each morning! The hotel was located within easy walking distance of Hirosaki Park which is where we spent most days, transfixed by the beauty of the cherry blossoms. Our hotel room was simple, thoroughly cleaned each day and certainly adequate for our needs. We had a small refrigerator which kept our fabulous Japanese beer nicely chilled, tobether with our selection of yummy snacks. We loved the hotel and the staff.
