Guest Reviews
- Laura (9/5): Hemos disfrutado mucho nuestra estancia.
- Yasmin (8/5): Perfect relaxing spot with great views and a short walk to the beach. - The view and how close it was to the beach! We enjoyed the pool and looking over the sea. It was great to be so near to the viewpoint as well. Lots of steps but they kept us fit! Had to wait some time before someone replied to come and let us into the room but we didn't mind waiting by the pool.
- chantal (8/5): - Loved the view and the hammock No hanging closet
- Sam Heinrich (9/5): -

- Jessica (9/5): Spectacular view for a very fair price! - The walk up to the hotel is really only 5 minutes it’s easy, and once you’re there, the view is spectacular!! We loved our stay here, it’s amazing for the price. Pool is also really nice, and there’s a filtered water machine with cold or hot drinking water. When we arrived in town we struggled to find the property. I called and messaged them so many times over 3 hours with no answer, we just had to go have lunch in town and wait for them to get back to us. Keep in mind, the hotel is slightly dated, however it’s very fairly priced with such an amazing view. I recommend parking by the visitors centre and walking up.
- Edina (8/5): worth for the view - beautiful view, clean and nice common areas (sun terrace, pool), air conditioning -the way to the hotel after sunset is a bit scary, no lights
-hair dryer and wardrobe hangers would be nice to have
- Silvio Salvador (10/5): - Un hermoso y acogedor lugar.
- Lauren (10/5): Vista Spectacular! - Spectacular Vista! The owner was lovely and helpful.
- Robin (10/5): - This is an absolutely beautiful place, although admitted a walk up from the beach, especially in the heat of the day. The room was lovely with an excellent balcony view, and the pool was perfect and usually no one else was there.
- Dan (7/5): Great pool with nice views of the bay - The location is great but it comes with a well worth cost of climbing some steps WiFi wasn’t working, had to leave a day earlier and move elsewhere to finish a deadline at work
- ISAURA (10/5): Excelente lugar!
- Joanna (10/5): - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property was very walkable to all places we enjoyed visiting in Mazunte.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Beautiful place! Lovely pool with a view of ocean. Lots of stairs to climb but we didnt mind.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amber (7/5): Great view and value, not the most luxurious, but that is to be expected. - We absolutely loved the view. Every day it was like waking up in paradise. Pool was a very comfortable temperature. Rooms were relatively simple, but we spent most days at the beach anyway so that was fine. Great value for money. The bed has one of those plastic covers around the mattress, while this is sanitary, it’s uncomfortable especially with the heat. The pillows were also really uncomfortable and made me and my bf wake up with a stiff neck every morning. The bed was directly under the AC which also isn’t the most comfortable and healthy as it gave me an AC cold.
- Arturo Avelino (10/5): - Bien
- Kayla (8/5): Great place - amazing view - Loved the view, the pool, our little balcony, and the overall vibe of the property. It is high up a hill so you do have to hike up and down - fine with me but not suitable for anyone with disabilities. The bed was a bit small for two people, but it was comfortable enough. Worth it for the views. Small bed and the bedding could have been more comfortable.
- Molly (8/5): Very good - Lovely pool and view of the sea. The beds felt like strange blow up mattresses with mattress topper. Was fine but not the best
- FRANCISCO (4/5): - Nunca pudimos llegar calle obsucorayy no entran automoviles
- Seán (7/5): Good - The view, the pool and friendly staff Dangerous roads to walk either from the cemetery (very slippery) or stairs entrance (100+). Building is neglected (bathroom, pool). Beds were not comfy
- Danny (6/5): Pleasant - Good location, walking distances to both beaches and the town. Host was helpful when asking for travel tips to next location. There is not hot water, which isn’t a huge deal in 30 degree heat. They did run out of water though, which meant the showers, sinks, toilets etc were out of order.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikki (8/5): Very good -
- Hugh (10/5): Exceptional - View and location Access was a little challenging but we managed.
It was worth the effort 👌
- Hendrik (7/5): Good -
- Aurora (10/5): Exceptional - Vista Atención
- John (8/5): Very good - The views from our room were breathtaking and the accommodation was walking distance from the beach and the main areas of the town. The shower had no hot water. We had to pay for our stay onsite and not via booking.com. When we got there we were told that we'd need to pay an extra 5% to use a card and there are only 2 ATMs in Mazunte and they generally don't work. According to the Comisión Nacional para la Protección y Defensa de los Usuarios de Servicios Financieros (CONSUDEF), it is not permitted for vendors to charge any extra commission on card payments. When we confronted them about this, they told us that it does not apply to them since they're not using a bank. I checked with CONSUDEF and it does, in fact, apply to them.
- Tobias (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (10/5): Amazing views - The hotel has a great view and it's a nice place to get away from the heat below - sit by the pool and feel the breeze. The staff are very kind and helpful. As many have said, it's a real hike to lug luggage up the stairs, but it's only once! Note - "mountain view" means you face away from the amazing outlook and sort of into some trees. It's not terrible, but it's not a "view".
- Albert (9/5): Very nice place. Quiet, beautiful views of the ocean, friendly and helpful staff - Beautiful view from your room. Having a pool to relax in
Friendly staff
A refrigerator and microwave in the lobby Having breakfast included or available would be nice and access to getting a coffee on the property.
There are a lot of stairs to reach the property.
- Donna (9/5): Superb - View was stupendous. The hotel was beautifully decorated, the room was comfortable, pool was nice. Difficult to find. Needs better signage.
- Zoe (8/5): Very good - Comfy bed, great balcony with a view and nice to have air con! The view is amazing and it’s nice to have a pool! Would stay again. Bit hard to find and it doesn’t say that if you’re driving in there’s a really steep road in so beware of that. Otherwise if you’re walking it’s located centrally but a walk up a hill to get there.
- Greta (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautifull view a l
- Kimberly (10/5): - Excellent view! Beautiful building and pool area. Its quite a climb but we didnt mind.
- Danae (9/5): Superb - The views are amazing! The rooms are nicer than they look and the hammocks on the balcony are the best. It’s a bit of a hike getting there.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Only stayed one night but our host (owner?) was very helpful and friendly. It’s clean, safe, & quiet - This hotel is obviously an ongoing labour of love, apparent by all the small details around the building. It has a wonderful cabana/terrace with beautiful sweeping views where you can relax in loungers or hammocks after a dip in the pool. Also the rooms all have balconies with views. Set up in the hills surrounded by nature. The only drawback for some people would be the inconvenience of not having parking at the door. There is free parking at the tourist office at the bottom of the hill but then there’s a walk up a road and about 100 steps or more up to the property. Not recommended for anyone with suitcases but perfect for people who travel lightly (we had backpacks) and adventurers as this is a little oasis set above the town. We are in our late 60’s and had no issue with the climb.
- Clare (10/5): - Wonderful stay
- Jade (9/5): Amazing views and a good spot for your stay in Mazunte! - The view from the hotel is amazing (and well worth the few steps up there!). The pool was a great addition on a hot day and the staff are lovely, they cleaned our room everyday and made sure the refillable water was always topped up. Nothing! If you need to borrow items from the kitchen you can ask, but there is a missed opportunity for a breakfast up on the balcony as there are great views and lots of furniture :)
- Katarina (10/5): Buena Vista!
- Ged (8/5): Good room, but access /no parking would be deterrent for some. - No breakfast was included. Privacy and views were great..... and a nice small pool. David, the owner (?) was a good host..... along with his helper, Joshua. No parking and a real climb to get there from main street......not for the faint of heart. I am 72 and was just getting over a respiratory virus.... thought my heart was going to explode going up
- Dillon (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place with an incredible view and great communal areas. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.
On our 9 month trip this was probably the best accomodation we had.
- Nargena (10/5): Incredible views with air con and close to town - Amazing view, friendly staff, nice pool with view, air conditioning in room that worked, hammock on balcony to enjoy view, short walk to Main Street A lot of people complain about the stairs, they’re not that bad as people say.
- Janice (6/5): A place to lay our heads - but way to expensive for what was provided - No food provided or alcohol - bummer - as it is a hike up and down the mountain - taxi could not get us to the door No snacks, food, or alcohol on premises - no one around to really ask
- Petter (10/5): Enjoyed one night - Spent one night here. Was a beautiful place. We liked the location, but it where steep stairs to get to the hotel. We didn't mind. Beautiful view and property!
- Wendy (9/5): Lovely - Super comfy Parking your car
- Fernando (1/5): Not worth it - The pool and the view They set us up in a room we didn’t book. In the basement basically. The room flood with the rain lol
- Ishan (9/5): Very good stay in Mazunte - Really good location with amazing view from the balcony and pool. Lot of stairs to climb and also you need to drag your luggage up the stairs which can be really hard if you have heavy luggage
- Emma (9/5): Superb - Incredible views and lots of areas for lounging and room was huge
- Emmanuel (7/5): Good -
- Jackson (7/5): Beautiful location — could use some oversight - The view is breathtaking. The guy running the place is very kind. This will be a gorgeous place when done. Lots of bugs and did not get fresh sheets when requested—the bed was just re-made with the same dirty sheets.
- Monserrat (10/5): Exceptional - AC, common area, staff very friendly, clean, view.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (2/5): need some improvements - during our whole stay manager did not show up. only cleaners were there and no one provided us information how the place works.
beds are too small, kitchen was very dirty.
- Felix (8/5): Very good - View was Amazing.
Beds and bathrooms werde great Pool was Dirty. Was Not Cleaned.
No accessble kitchen
- Rachel (9/5): Superb - Amazing value for money. Super clean and comfortable room with working AC and hot shower. Lots of comfortable areas to chill with stunning views over Mazunte and the ocean. Access to fridge to keep drinks cool was a bonus and cooled drinking water also available. I would definitely stay here again. Pool was a bit too warm to be refreshing but I guess that can't be helped
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anakaren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krystel (10/5): Exceptional - The view from the pool was amazing. We liked that it was walking distance from the town ....Bed was cozy and the room had everything we needed for our two night stay The hotel is set on top of the hill. So the walk can be good for those who want to burn off them taco and beer calories throughout the trip.
- Shani (9/5): worth the stay! charming place - The swimming pool was great, there was a nice atmosphere and everything looks like it is well cared. The check in and check out were easy. The air conditioner and ceiling ventilation were a great help. A clothes hanger would be very useful.
- Marc (7/5): Good -
- Matthijs (8/5): Very good plus quiet location. - The hotel is on top of a hill. The view is spectacular. It's 100 steps to get there. We had no problem to get there and we are in our 70ties. Nice pool and deck. Our room had no balcony, but others have one, so next time we will ask for a balcony.
- Aida (9/5): Lovely place - The place is gorgeous and clean, very nice to relax and have a good time. The access is a little complicated and could use some better lighting, but it is ok
- Patty (9/5): amazing views & lovely landscaping & helpful owners/staff - look forward to returning! - amazing views and nice finishes and sweet Terrace & pool scene! Super nice owners & staff. Worth the climb.😊 nada
- Phoebe (8/5): simple, beautiful, comfortable and enjoyable stay - we loved the view from the top and our balcony, it was very comfortable and quiet so overall a great place to relax the staff were non existent on occasion meaning that if we had any questions regarding the hotel or travel we were left to fiend for ourselves
- Konstanty (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect view of the ocean from pool & terraces. Clean pool, friendly staff and we could leave our luggage for the whole day before leaving Mazunte without any problems. Mattresses where a little bit to soft.
- Christine (8/5): A beautiful hotel with stunning views. - It was so nice to have to relax by the pool in the afternoons when we came back from the beach. There is no food available and only filtered water to drink. This means that if you want coffee or tea in the morning, you have to go all the way down the hill to get it. The steps are also very steep and unfinished in some parts, so not good for a large suitcase.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (7/5): Good -
- Brook (10/5): Exceptional - great view, friendly, helpful staff, AC worked.
- Cindy (7/5): Nice place , Great friendly staff - The property had a nice pool and shared outside decks with tables, chairs , lounge chairs and ceiling fans .
It had a cold and hot water water dispenser for guests to use . A shared fridge . bags of Ice cubes in freezer .
Very friendly staff !! Small but clean bedrooms with air conditioning, ceiling fan , comfortable bed and great balcony with hammock and awesome ocean view .
Free wifi - outside of bedrooms in shared areas . There are lots of stairs to climb . Over a 100 just to get to the property . And then more to get to rooms . So this is not the property for those who have knee issues or heart problems . We got a good work out every day .
-There is no coffee maker available unless you take one of the quadrupole rooms .
-The room safes have not been put back in the rooms since they were renovated .
-There are no pool towels given to you
- Only shampoo is in washroom , no conditioner
-They are building or fixing the roof as I think the last hurricane damaged it . So there is some construction noise off and on .
- no wifi in the bedrooms .
and no TVs but it looks like there may be TVs soon ?
All in all we had a great 2 week stay ! The place has beautiful views , friendly staff and nice pool . The construction isn’t too bad . It’s gotta be done sometime and we feel that when it is done it will be even better . And the stairs got us both in better shape .
Thanking the staff and management !!
- Jakub (7/5): I can recommend it if you don't have a problem with the higher location of the accommodation. - The view on the ocean is perfect!! The location on the map seems to be pretty close to the beach, but it actually one of the highest spots at Mazunte and this means quite a long journey to the beach.
- Elizabeth (5/5): ok - the view there were no kitchen
there was no sign
it was hard to find it
- Deborah (3/5): Would Not recommend. - No breskfast! No food! No coffee available. Need to advertise this. More of a hostsl experience for way more money. Food service. Help with bags up and down stairs. Not locking the gate during the day.
- Kyle (8/5): - Good place, quiet, nice balconies and pool. Lots of stairs to access so you must be capable of stair climbing. A bit away from the beach however central enough that it wasn’t an issue for ourselves.
- Adam (7/5): Great views, pool and terrace, but be warned about construction work - The facilities were fantastic, a lovely pool and terrace to relax with a beautiful view over Mazunte, which is worth the uphill trek to get there. clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff too. I would give this place a much better rating but there was building work going on which started (on the dot) at 7.15am every morning with loud banging! This seemed unnecessary as it always started with this loud hammering for 15 minutes or so which you couldn’t sleep through, but then nothing after that - so why this can’t be done at a more reasonable time I don’t know? looks like this has been going on for months and will be for many more months…
- Alyssa (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (6/5): disappointing stay. - beautiful view, set up on a hill amongst the jungle. small premises so nice and quiet. rooms were small, no ceiling fans and there were no amenities to cook; even though photos showed there was a communal cooking area. there was also no communication as to the entry to the property. there was a difficult to climb to get to the hotel with loads of stairs.. Esther difficult with bags/suitcases. had to flip the mattress around as the head end smelt like a cat had urinated on it. pillows were large and firm and ended up using the cushions as they were the flattest option. service wasn’t fantastic. although organising a taxi for our departure the male at reception didn’t make the booking for us.
- Nina (9/5): Superb - The staff! Fabi and el jefe (do not know his name :)) we’re extremely helpful and kind and welcoming.
- Patricia (3/5): Poorly maintained property therefore significantly over priced and dangerous. - Pros: Beautiful views, air conditioning and comfortable beds Poorly maintained facilities. They claim hurricane but it has been 3 months plus these are long term maintenance problems. Both staircases to property are obstructed and broken causing dangerous situation. Swimming pool had algae overgrowth and never able to use in my 5 day stay. Room furniture is mismatched, old, damaged and oversized for room therefore making the room feel crowded. Ceiling fans non functional. Shower head small with poor pressure making washing long hair very difficult.
- Tricia (2/5): really disappointing and would not recommend - lovely woman at reception. nice views. cleaning staff were so nice. bed was comfortable but quite sloped and had a plastic sheet on mattress. almost everything. access to the hotel is shockingly awful and precarious. more information needs to be given in the hotel description. there are NO amenities to speak of except a water station. The pool was quite dirty, general grounds in poor condition. No coffee/ tea nor water pressure in bathrooms. seems like it’s on its last legs to be honest.
- Gmalcantar (10/5): Amazing accomodation - Amazing place to stay in Mazunte it has a outstanding view of the beach from the mountain. The facilities are nice, clean and cosy. The staff is friendly. The only con is the need for climbing a Little to arrive to the facilities, not recommended for people with limited mobility.
- Anna (7/5): Good - The location is great (if a bit of a steep walk up) and the people working there were so helpful. The pics don’t do it justice, the views are incredible and there’s lots of space. They are adding a whole new floor to the hotel so there is extensive building work going on. It started at 7/7.30am and is extremely loud and wasn’t mentioned to us at any point during the stay. It looks like it might be going on months.
