• Maria Estela (8/5): - Las zonas comunes eran muy bonitas. El colchón de la cama era cómodo. Proporcionaban toalla de baño. Buena ubicación Las literas no tenían cortinas y era incómodo y tedioso subir a la litera superior.

• Eleanor (7/5): Good location but not amazing - The staff were really friendly, the location is perfect and the room was pretty clean We stayed in the private room and the walls are paper thin. The showers and toilets for the dorm rooms are next to the room which meant people were shouting, slamming doors and even throwing up (2 nights running) all night and it’s so loud which makes it impossible to sleep. The bed is also very uncomfortable sadly

• Nina (6/5): Cool, könnte jedoch sauberer und gepflegter sein. - Das Hostel ist sehr zentral gelegen, viele Orte sind fußläufig erreichbar. Das Bett war bequem. Die Katzen(Babies) 😉 Es gab zu jederzeit Trinkwasser, was super war. Der coole Look von der Unterkunft sieht auf den ersten Blick toll aus, versteckt jedoch einiges an Dreck und Schimmel. Bei der Beton-Optik fällt es nicht so auf, jedoch hat unsere Dusche und auch in den Ecken des Zimmers geschimmelt, es war viel Staub und Spinnweben im Zimmer. Das Zimmer hatte kein Tageslicht und war sehr hellhörig. Es gab keinerlei Ablagemöglichkeiten am Waschbecken. für Der Hinterhof/Außenbereich war sehr ungepflegt, dreckig und hat streng gerochen, das könnte man um einiges schöner machen und hätte viel Potenzial für einen schönen Bereich für die Gäste und auch für die süßen Katzen.

• Chandra (8/5): - The location was great. Right in the middle of multiple Georgetown highlights. Staff was ok, but shoutout to the guy (forgot to ask his name) who worked 10 feb in the evening. He was lovely. As mentioned by multiple people it is quite loud, but for me it was ok. I was aware, but this is def. Not the place for you if you are a light sleeper. Everyone really sticks to themselves. Would be nice if there was something organised by the hostel.

Non è assolutamente insonorizzata, avevamo pur una camera doppia con bagno privato; ma era come se fossimo dentro ai bagni comuni. La “finestra” del bagno dava sui bagni e non si chiudeva, quindi tutta la notte si sentiva il via vai di persone nei bagni, non rispettose di mantenere il silenzio dalle 11 di sera alle 7 di mattina. Non propriamente pulita la stanza.

• Vanessa (6/5): Charming hostel in a perfect location, but too noisy - Fantastic location and really helpful staff - they always greeted everyone with a smile and were really responsive and kind when we had problems with our room. Nice interiors and lots of chill out spaces, plus a filtered water tap. We had to move rooms twice, once due to a strong damp smell in the room and the next as the room was extremely noisy and kept us up all night (even with earplugs). The fact that it’s an old building gives it charm, but does not feel well suited for its location on a very busy road opposite a big mosque as the sound proofing is very poor. Not to mention loads of mosquitos in the bathroom - every time we went in we got bitten. Building often generally had a bit of a weird and off putting smell. With a bit of renovation to improve ventilation, plumbing and soundproofing, this would be the perfect hostel!

• MELANIE (8/5): No frills. Decent for the price! - Location was really good for most of the places I wanted to do and visit and also 10min walk to ferry port. I stayed in a private twin room which was pretty basic but bed linen was clean and bed was comfortable. When I stayed, there was no reception staff until after midday - and no contact number or instructions provided at the empty desk… The bath towels are old and tatty… I had to ask to replace mine twice due to black marks and thinness. The shared semi-outdoor bathrooms upstairs was not ideal. Became extremely warm at times especially during the day
• Kurt (9/5): Recommend to anyone visiting Georgetown. - Good location, good clean facilities and comfy beds with good pillows. Nice common areas with lots of space to chill. We stayed in the 4 bed mixed dorm with double beds, there are no curtains on the beds for privacy and the locker spaces aren’t big enough to store both persons luggage if you have larger bags / multiple bags per person. Not exactly a dislike just something to be aware of.

We don’t normally enjoy staying in hostels with shared room, but this hostel was extremely clean - the bathroom was always impeccable. You also had enough space in the room for your stuff and there were a lot of different areas where you could relax on your own

• Alice (7/5): Auberge chouette, attention à l'humidité - L'emplacement, le petit café, le personnel très gentil Nous avions une chambre privée au rez de chaussée. Elle est excessivement humide (tâches au mur, odeur, minuscule salle de bain privée à peine séparée de la partie couchage, aucun moyen d'aérer la chambre car la seule ouverture qu'elle a donne sur la partie sanitaires communs). Je conseille donc de venir dans cette auberge mais pas dans la chambre privée !

Es una mezcla entre rústico y abandonado y nunca sabes si algo estaba sucio o era parte de la decoración. Aunque tenía habitación con baño privado, este más bien era un hueco donde estaba metido un inodoro y una ducha todo junto y el lavabo estaba en la propia habitación

• Julia (8/5): Stylish stay in the heart of Penang - A very stylish hostel in the center of everything in Penang. It was really nice to have a kitchen (no cooking but there is a fridge for guests) and the common area upstairs is nice. Bathrooms were always clean. The shared bathrooms got pretty crowded during peak times which was a bit annoying. The common area downstairs is super cool, but not the most comfortable to relax in. Our private room was close to the bathroom and had really thin walls, so we could hear anyone talking. Some people were rude and being loud in the bathroom late at night but that’s not the fault of the hostel - just know you can hear clearly.
