Ich hatte vor Antritt unserer Reise viele Unterkünfte angeschaut, auch in Wilderness - und da gibt es sicher viele tolle Unterkünfte (Dune Beach House, Mes amis Guesthouse und andere), aber es wird keine Unterkunft geben, die so bezaubernd ist wie das Haus am Strand. Essen gehen unbedingt im Salinas Beach...

Janet (8/5): Friendly staff with spectacular ocean access. - The beautiful beach was just outside the door and very quiet. Rita and the manager lent us their phone to make calls when we encountered difficulties with our rental car. The room was cozy and clean. There was construction on the roadway right behind the house but we rarely heard it as we were typically on the beach side of the property.
Verena (10/5): 7 erholsame Tage an traumhafter Lage! - Wir waren für 7 Nächte im Haus am Strand und haben es sehr genossen. Der Upgrad ins Gartenzimmer war eine tolle Überraschung! Der Empfang war sehr persönlich und informativ, das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer war hell mit aussergewöhnlicher Sicht aufs Meer, in der Kochnische war alles Noetige vorhanden. Der Aufenthalt wird uns in bester Erinnerung bleiben.

Barbara (10/5): Ein kleines Paradies - Traumhafte Lage direkt am wunderschönen Strand. Wir erhielten ein Upgrade für das Beach Bungalow, welches wir sehr genossen. Nick ist ein sehr freundlicher, aufmerksamer Gastgeber, so dass es einem an nichts fehlt. Da das Zimmer nicht am selben Tag wieder benötigt wurde, durften wir sogar ein paar Stunden mehr an diesem schönen Ort geniessen. Bei unserer nächsten Südafrikareise werden wir gerne länger bleiben.

Laura (9/5): Tolle Strandlage - Absolut geniale Lage direkt am Strand! Der Garten mitsamt Liege Möglichkeiten ist toll angelegt. Handtücher für liegen standen zur Verfügung. Das Zimmer war sauber. Die Gastgeberin war sehr bemüht und hat uns mit zahlreichen Tipps versorgt. Unter anderem hat sie uns den Farmers Market am Samstag empfohlen, welcher wirklich super war. Außerdem hat sie uns eine Wanderung entlang der alten Bahngleise empfohlen, diese war ebenfalls ein Highlight. Die Lage ist sicher, man kann bedenkenlos auch im dunklen innerhalb ein paar Minuten in den Ort zu Restaurants laufen. Parkmöglichkeiten waren auch gegeben. Ein Ventilator oder eine Klimaanlage haben im Zimmer gefehlt. Außerdem war das Zimmer relativ hellhörig.

Wir hatten eigentlich das kleinste Zimmer gebucht und das Glück, dass wir ein Upgrade den Beach Bungalow bekommen haben. Es war einfach wunderschön 😊 Wir haben morgens aus dem Zimmer die Delfine im Meer gesehen. Rita und Nick waren super herzliche und freundliche Gastgeber. Sie haben uns gute Empfehlungen für die Umgebung gegeben. Wir würden die Unterkunft jedem empfehlen.

PJ (9/5): Op die strand! - Die verblyf is op die strand! Uitsig vanuit die kamer is pragtig! Alles is skoon en gerieflik. Ons het lekker gebly. En kan dit aanbeveel Die parkering is n̈ bietjie van n̈ probleem - nie n̈ gemerkte parkering vir elke kamer nie - veroorsaak ongerief. Moeilik om personeel op selfoon in die hande te kry. Baie "goedjies" wat in die kamer rondstaan, beperk die spasie - maar dit kan maklik net in n̈ kas gebêre word - dis nie n̈ groot probleem nie.

Lucy (10/5): Perfect bed with a view. - This is an exceptional place. It's right on the seafront and the attention to detail is spot on-from the blankets for sitting outside on cooler evenings to the milk provided for coffee. Each room has a bed that looks out on the ocean and the ocean is a wonderful sight - I watched dolphins playing in the waves one afternoon for hours. I'd only booked for 2 nights but extended my stay the minute I arrived. The guy who runs it had great recommendations for things to do in the area and the staff were helpful and kind. I was upgraded for the first 3 nights so got to experience more that 1 of their beautiful rooms This was an exceptional place and I can't recommend it enough.

Thomas (2/5): Une mauvaise expérience - Le seul intérêt de cet établissement c’est qu’il est en bord de plage. À mon arrivée il n’y avait personne pour m’accueillir. La réception et le personnel était absent tout mon séjour et ne répondait pas aux messages de plainte. La chambre était minuscule et le lit se trouvait face à une porte communicante donnant sur la télévision des voisins ! Ceux ci l’ont regardée jusqu’à 1 heure du matin ! Le gérant est juste passé en coup de vent pour récupérer le paiement. Il n’a pas voulu me changer de chambre, sauf avec un supplément de 50 pour-cent sur le prix initiale. Scandaleux sachant que de nombreuses chambres étaient disponibles.

Eva-Marie (9/5): Unterkunft in top Lage zum Meer - Die Unterkunft hat eine traumhafte Lage mit direktem Zugang zum Strand. Der Garten mit ausreichend Liegen und Sitzmöglichkeiten hat zum verweilen und genießen eingeladen. An einem Morgen haben wir Delphine vom Garten aus beobachte können. Das Zimmer war klein aber es war alles da was wir brauchten. Das Bett war bequem und hatte eine direkten Blick auf das Meer - wir konnten morgens mit offener Türe das Meer hören. Die Ausstattung (Teppich, Sofa, etc.) der Zimmer ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen - es hatte sein Charm weshalb es uns nicht weiter gestört hat.
RICHARD (10/5): The perfect location for a luxury break in The Gatden Route, right on the beach with views of the Indian Ocean, just Ama - Absolutely everything! The view from the room must be seen to be believed! Nick & Rita were so welcoming and just the perfect hosts. The room was superbly equipped with outstanding attention to every detail, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Would definitely recommend this property and Wilderness itself to anyone visiting The Garden Route. Nothing!

Driving dustance to George, with the airport being about half an hour away. Danny the Manager, was oustanding! He was very helpful and friendly and had a great rapport with the staff. Often to be seen working with the gardener. Haus am Strand is in a great location, with onsite parking available on site.

Brian (10/5): Stunning quirky hotel on the beach. - This is an amazing hotel located right on the beach. The accommodation is very comfortable and the decor is really quirky. The beach location is stunning and we fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves with our patio doors open. Directly across the road is an excellent supermarket and a choice of about a dozen really good restaurants. Dany that runs the hotel is very friendly kind and helpful, surprising me with a chocolate cake for my birthday. Don’t hesitate…just book, you won’t be disappointed!

Good supermarket nearby for the purchase of breakfast supplies if that is your preference to start the day. The garden offers a good place to relax in the sunshine. Nothing.

Selina (10/5): Exceptional - The property is right on the beach, reachable from the garden. We slept with the balcony doors open to listen to the waves and it was just the most incredible thing. The hosts were super nice and helpful, they helped us to braai and gave us great tips on what to do in Wilderness. We will definitely come back!

Oriol (10/5): Cosy in front of the sea - Rita and Nick's hospitality is incredible. We arrived sick with a stomach virus and they helped us at all times. They even sent us messages after our stay to ask how we were: a very thoughtful touch. The place is very cozy and is right in front of the beach. The area is so beautiful that it deserves to be explored. The decoration of the room is a bit picturesque haha to each his own :)
