- 346alleneb (10/5): Marriott (and The Gilbert) are Stellar Entities! - I blew into LA impromptu on a Saturday night not expecting to have any issue finding a room at the fabulous Marriott Hotel chain, but the one I picked (Springhill Suites; closest to my venue) was all booked. I sat in the lobby trying to figure out my next move, when The Gilbert (who claims to be “just a Bellman”) asked if there was anything he could do for me tonight. He didn’t know the Pandora’s Box that he opened but he most gracefully and kindly helped me navigate setting up my Bonvoy account (I hadn’t fully set it up - oops), made sure I wrote down and took screenshots of all pertinent information that I might need. He helped me book at another nearby Marriott and ensured I had all the information I needed to navigate my way there. (I say navigate because I’m from Sacramento and we have 3 freeways… I’m sure that paints the picture). Then he also reassured me that I was perfectly capable of getting to my destination hotel (he was right) and that everything was going to be okay (he was right on that count as well). All this to say, I’ve never been disappointed by any of the staff at a Marriott; they are wonderful human beings helping guests have an outstanding experience. From the Managers to the kitchen staff and custodial and maintenance crews and to anyone who works there, I’ve seen nothing but smiling, happy Team Members, with wonderful spirits helping everyone, guest or not. This is the kind of establishment that should be held up as a model for other businesses. I’m so impressed with them; I’ll never stay at another hotel chain unless I must. Staff was absolutely wonderful and very professional - Ashley, Amanda and Richard were warm and welcoming from the moment we walk through the door. Greeted by name every time we arrive and left. Hotel was very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

- Wahlen (4/5): When trust is gone all is gone. - It was clean convenient. I accidentally left a Christmas present in my car. So after I realized it I called the office to inquire about a package that was left. The front office was very quick to say no nothing was left but however as soon as I mentioned that I would provide a cash reward all of the sudden and miraculously the gift appeared and it was available to me. That just struck me as so dishonest. I paid the bribe got my gift and went on my way. I will think twice about staying there again because trust is gone.

- Lindsey233 (4/5): Staff Downplayed a FLEA Infested Room - My partner and I stay at this hotel once a year for work and we always enjoy it. However, on this most recent trip, we were really upset with how they handled a more serious situation. I found a bug on my arm while lying in the bed. When I pulled back the covers, there were about 10 tiny bugs that started jumping frantically all over the place. I grabbed a few and put them in a water cup so I could try and identify them and make sure they weren't bed bugs. Turns out they were fleas (I ID'd them based on Google images). I started shaking out my clothes in the bathroom, and a few dropped off of me. Every time I went back to search, I found more. I got really freaked out and called the front desk. They told me to come down and when I did, their response was surprisingly dismissive. There was minimal acknowledgment of the situation and no sense of urgency at all. One employee (male front desk - maybe the manager) offered a very brief apology ("sorry bout that here's your new room key"). They treated switching rooms as if it were a favor. It was very bizarre and not the type of customer service you'd expect after finding bugs in a hotel room. It left me feeling like I had done something wrong. I went back up to the room with the employee, and another man came in to start doing an inspection. The front desk employee excused himself immediately, and I sat there while the man searched the room. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to stay or leave. There was almost no communication. I started asking questions because it was awkward. He said he couldn't see anything and that they normally don't have issues with fleas. I eventually loaded all of my stuff onto a luggage cart, moved rooms, and never heard anything further. No one confirmed what kind of bugs were found, no follow up was provided, and no meaningful apology was ever offered. I left with multiple bug bites on my legs. The overall tone felt like they were downplaying the situation in order to squash it but that made me feel extremely uncomfortable. At times, it almost felt like they were suspicious of me. I do not have animals, so I know for a fact that I had nothing to do with the infestation. We’ve enjoyed staying here in the past, which made this experience even more disappointing. The lack of communication, concern, and accountability turned what should have been a manageable issue into a very upsetting one.

The room was exceptionally spacious and appeared to have been recently remodeled, offering a clean and comfortable environment. While we encountered a few minor difficulties during our stay, the front desk staff—particularly Nicholas—handled the situation with professionalism and ensured that everything was resolved promptly. He also provided excellent recommendations for nearby places to dine, which truly enhanced our experience. The rooftop terrace offered a relaxing atmosphere with a variety of games and entertainment options, making it an excellent place to unwind. Additionally, the hotel’s convenient location near shopping outlets and grocery markets made it easy to explore the area and enjoy some leisure time. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and I would gladly stay here again.

Nice area, conveniently next to shopping centers and restaurants. Breakfast was great. Staff was very attentive to refilling items that was out. The beds was not comfortable. Very outdated. The pillows are too flat goes flat. Our bathroom had only less then half of toilet paper left. And no refill roll was left in the room.

The bartenders deserve a special mention—they were not only skilled at mixing great drinks, but also created such a fun and inviting atmosphere at the bar. They remembered my preferences after just one order and always took the time to chat, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. I believe their names where Richard and Nick. Between the helpful staff throughout the property and the lively, friendly vibe at the bar, this hotel truly stands out. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends and family!

Found a big cut toe nail on the floor and it just made the room feel dirty and gross although everything else seemed clean. I would say they shouldn’t skip on vacuuming the rooms. We understood it would be every other day. The third day we let housekeeping know we were leaving, they were cleaning the room across from us. They didn’t clean. The following day a different housekeeper was walking by as we were leaving and my husband asked to have our room cleaned since it hadn’t been cleaned since we checked in. Again the room wasn’t cleaned. We went to the desk and asked for clean towels so they went in the back and got them for us. The gentleman told us the housekeeper didn’t speak English. I know the second one did. At any rate if they didn’t understand they should have gotten someone who did. We had a business guest go up to the room thinking the room would be clean. How awful to have the bed unmade, wet towels and trash not emptied. I expected better from Marriott.
