- Kjetil (9/5): Passer for 2-3 dager. Etter det er du ferdig med Souken - Lite og koselig Litt nærme Souke

- Joanna (9/5): Excellent Riad in a great location. - Excellent breakfast and in a central location.
Staff were accessible and very helpful.
The room was lovely and we had a private roof terrace.
- Cristina (10/5): Amazing Riad with great staff and delicious breakfast - This the best Riad we ever stayed. The staff was absolutely amazing, very helpful and kind. The design is impressive and breakfast is very variable and delicious.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Beautiful Riad, out of the hustle and bustle of the Medina. - The Riad is beautiful and quirky and we loved the themed rooms (we actually stayed in two). Every space felt considered, and it was very family friendly. We loved the turtles and the kittens! Nothing, everything and everyone was wonderful.
- Marc (10/5): Great place, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. They made the stay even better. If I go back to Marrakech I - Super nice and super clean. Location is awesome. Tv not much of Chanel and no smart tv access.
- Maxime (8/5): -
- Orustbo (10/5): Riad experience - Excellent service. Beautiful room. Shower with hot water working perfectly. Breakfast with everything you would possibly need. I got picked up at airport by taxi from hotel and I don't think I would have found it on my own. Narrow winding streets in all kinds of directions, it takes a day or two to find your way around. Great place to stay in the center of Marrakesh , walking distance to everything. Had dinner at Riad two nights. Great roof-garden for relaxation. I would stay here again.
- Fitzgerald (8/5): We had a lovely time and a brilliant holiday loved the Riad and Marrakesh - Really nice breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was the worry about finding our way back to the Riad through the maze of souks. We eventually saw that as a challenge and adventure 😊 it would have helped to have a better sign even on the street of the Riad Finding our way back at night.

- sandman215 (10/5): Wonderful Riad very close to everything - Couldn’t have been happier with our Riad. They were warm and welcoming and made sure to take care of us when we had to get up early that would have missed the terrific breakfast buffet.
- Naheem (10/5): Perfect - Everything
- 560adinaj (10/5): Riad Karmela Princess - Our experience there was wonderful; they were very attentive to our needs. We had a fabulous breakfast in an orange grove, and the hammam and massage services were absolutely gorgeous. We recomand this place. The rooms was very beautiful in the arabic style.
This riad is located in the heart of Medina, but înșine is silence and it has a google vibes.

- Estefania (9/5): - Riad Karmela Princess is absolutely stunning. The decor is beautiful and full of Moroccan detail, and the location is perfect, right in the Medina, but still calm and comfortable. The staff were super kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the rooftop is a great spot to relax after exploring Marrakech, with a cute jacuzzi. . Everything was clean, cozy, and well organized. Definitely a great choice for anyone visiting the city.

- Helen (10/5): There were 4 women in my group. The staff were amazing and made sure we were so well looked after I will definitely be - It was beautifully decorated and felt so homely Nothing negative to say

- gillyo876 (6/5): Down town Marrakesh - This is my personal review and will not reflect everybody's trip . What a trip ! Firstly I became unwell ..Say no more . The staff at the Riad are absolutely lovely they work very hard in that intense heat , the breakfast on the rooftop was fresh and an amazing selection of fruits, yogurts, cheeses, honey, jams, breads , salmon, avocado, pastries, you name it . ( my tummy was a tad sensitive ( so stuck to what was good for it . My friend wolfed down everything lol . Our room .. I hate dark spaces, it was dark.. but got over that my letting in as much shutter light and door open as possible. Please people if you are booking a transfer to the riad do it through the riad . Easyjet transfer is a nightmare , there is no way a mini bus can get down those passages, they dropped us off , a man who rolled our luggage through busy streets didn't know where the riad was , half an hour later we were so knackered but we arrived to a very warm welcome. The first night tired , we went to the 1112 tea garden and picked up a chicken dish with flat bread expensive, but stunningly beautiful. 2nd day , had a trundle round the medina, souks , had a chicken skewer with salad , lemon ginger tea , back to the riad enjoyed the roof top terrace, little jacuzzi to cool down lovely evening despite I wasn't feeling great . Saturday we had arranged a night out at the comptoir darma .. taxi booked both ways via Karmella.. that's uptown marrakesh . Wow how the other half live ( take plenty of money ) but it was a fabulous dining , belly dancing , French dj disco on the top floor experience , sadly I puked my expensive dinner up .. still wasn't feeling good , the man on late duty at the riad that night was a diamond, got me water and a pill to " settle " my marrakesh belly . Next day booked a most amazing Hamam ( ill post name later ) . I felt new again . Evening trek to a recommended restaurant, "cosy bar," approx 20 mins walk .. busy street be aware of all around you .. on the way home 9.30 pm ish . Woosh my friends phone was snatched out her hand .. Police involved, extremely traumatic .. a night we shall never forget .. we left the police station just before midnight after statements etc .. got lost down darkly lit passages. Riad again rescued us in our despair , sent a tuk tuk to find us . Thank you . Anyway long story short the phone and young lad was found ( sad for the lad im sure his punishment will be grim ) our trip was our trip . The riad staff where second to none .. it's marrakesh medina with it's smells and madness and sadness to be honest. So if it's your bag .. go for it!
- erikasX3945DV (10/5): Wonderful and pleasant stay and Riad Karmela Princess - I travelled to Marrakesh with another female friend and arrived late in the evening; the Riad is located in the old town and due to the narrow roads our driver could not drop us off in front of the Riad so we were met by a staff member on our arrival at the closest drop of point. During our stay the team has been extremely helpful and kind, always answering our questions and ensuring we had everything we needed/wanted. They always arranged someone to escort us to our drop off /pick up points when we had early morning(hot air balloon and sunrise) or late evening (sunset in Agafay dessert) experiences booked. The Riad is really beautiful with positive and calm atmosphere, one can relax and enjoy the rooftop and the various courtyards whilst taking a break from the busy streets of Marrakech. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and will de definitely stay again at Riad Karmela Princess when I'll return to Marrakesh again.
- Adele (10/5): Happy, comfortable, stress free stay… exactly what you need in such a bustling city. - Beautiful concept of several riads together as one hotel and spa. Roof terraces, plunge pools and the most hospitable, helpful staff we have encountered in a long time. Massive bed in a large clean room and decent WiFi. Breakfast was good but not as good as everything else
- Wai Ngor (10/5): well located - The hotel is so well located in the city centre. It is extremely easy to experience the life of local Morrocan in the area.
- leajc17 (10/5): An authentic find with heaps of charm and amazing staff that go over and above - Wow what an amazing find. This riad is simply perfect in every way. If you want authenticity this is the place to stay. The staff are amazingly attentive and couldn’t be more attentive. The suites are gorgeous and luckily we had a private rooftop terrace accessible from the room. A very Special stay for a special occasion, nothing was too much trouble
- Alexandra (10/5): -
- alma (10/5): - Staff was very helpful and friendly I would highly recommend it
- fifi050 (10/5): Amazing - Our stay at this hidden gem, started by a member of Staff meeting us from our Taxi and escorting us to the Riad ,the Karmela Princess was purfect stay ,it’s an amazing place, peaceful, calming and totally relaxing, with amazing ,helpful and respectful Staff, each one went above and beyond to make our stay a wonderful experience, the Rooms are all unique with a lovely touch of fruit delivered every other day and also with welcomed Air Conditioning as the Weather was extremely hot, more then usual for the time of year……It’s ideal placed to explore the Souks and lovely Restaurants although the Riad offers superb meals on its Rooftop Terrace and also a good snack menu ……..If you are thinking about holidaying in the Karmela you want be disappointed.
- MARIA ISABEL (8/5): - El Riad es muy lindo, la zona de la Medina difÃcil de acceder.
Llegamos y no encontraron nuestra reserva y nos hospedaron en el hotel de al lado, que no era nada bonito…
- koggers (10/5): Simply perfect - Riad Karmela really surprised us. It is a little gem in the Medina; excellent position, elegant rooms, cozy atmosphere, professional staff, good breakfast, quiet patio to relax, indoor swimming pool ! It is a fantastic place for your trip to Marrakesh .
- Suzan (9/5): We ate all our dinners at onsite restaurant and food was great and guitar player/singer was superb. - The location was wonderful, although it would be difficult to find on your own. Be sure to avail of the Riad's driver to get you there the first day. This is one of the only hotels that serves alcohol--a huge plus for us. We loved our stay. The owner and his female assistant at the desk in the Princesse were the only two staff members that seemed aloof and not particularly friendly. Breakfasts were okay, not great.
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
Super !!!!
- Noellia (10/5): Peaceful and perfect stay - The confortable room, the staff was super friendly, the riad is so beautiful and peaceful, everything was perfect Nothing
- Murray (10/5): Fabulous stay at the Karmela an oasis of calm and tranquility in the vibrant city of Marrakech - Location was perfect for us once we found our bearings. All the staff were so helpful and kind, even taking us to a nearby cafe on our first day for lunch. We felt very cared for and well looked after.
There was a good selection at breakfast and omelettes made on request. The Karmela was an oasis of calm and tranquility, our room was lovely with its own roof terrace.
- Jacob (10/5): - If I could give 6 stars I would. Mohamed, Amine, Aziz, and Fatima were excellent and saw to our every need. The Riad is beautiful and comfortable. I cannot recommend Riad Karmela Princesses enough.
- Marina (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional in every way
- Marina (10/5): You will never be looked after anywhere else as much as here - Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful team. Hakam in particular was exceptional. Highly recommended.
- Xenia (10/5): Exceptional -
- 2014Jay2014 (6/5): General info + Riad comments - This is a decent Riad and well situated. I have just returned from a trip. I will provide some info that may help fellow travellers. This is of course just my experience and should only be taken as that. You may well feel differently but i will try and provide an honest appraisal as i do find comments which are balanced helpful to me when i am choosing.
General info - Marrakesh is quite chaotic and there are very few signposts in the Medinas and main tourist areas so expect to get lost. On arrival the Riad host gave us a map and suggestions which were helpful. We mitigated our disorientation by booking a walking tour of Marrakesh on our first morning at 10am and used the hour before that to find our way to the meeting point using the map given. The tour gave us a good perspective and orientation. Most activities start in or near a cafe at the Jamma El Fina and locating this area and how to get back to the Riad should be a priority on the first morning. Streets are narrow and there are 2 wheel cycles, scooters, motorbikes zipping about so keep your head up and look before turning. This is not a good venue for disabled people i don't feel. The main areas feel warmer than the temperature suggests. Also - the timekeeping is on par with the Swiss - don't be late by even a minute - this isn't like most of Asia/Africa/Mediterranean - they are really punctual.
Money - get your dhirams at Marrakesh. Don't change much at the airport if any. We booked our Taxi via the Riad as we read Taxi's drop off away from the Riad (true) and unless you know how to get there, you will get lost and its not fun when you have bags. The taxi driver called the Riad and they sent someone to meet and guide us. The drivers don't expect a tip (we gave a small tip on our return trip and luckily it was the same driver). So you can manage not to need local currency until you get to the Riad. The Riad will change money (we just took GB Pounds and converted there). Exchange is very slightly better at Jamma square (the exchange next to the cafe Argana i found was the best option). So if you are converting a small amount just do it at the Riad for convenience but if you are going for a long stay, the main square may be better.
A word of caution about the fasting month - things do get a bit chaotic past 5pm - partly all locals seem to be rushing about to finish jobs and get home to break fasting and after 4pm ish - many can get irritable, i suspect from dehydration/hunger - entirely understandable but being aware helps. I have made a note never to travel to a muslim nation again during fasting month - i had not even considered this when booking.
Riad - specific - good location, quiet, breakfast is excellent and hosts mostly helpful (apart from the aforementioned 4pm to 7pm period). They do serve alcohol but to me seemed pretty judgemental - i also had to pop over to the Karmela that has the reception when i needed to get more (mostly they just handed me what i wanted rather than bringing it to where we were sat and I felt a bit like i was being disapproved off. To me if they feel that way, they should just not serve any. If you are and you are the host, be more hospitable perhaps? This is an ok Riad. Not the cheapest and not sure i felt better for paying more than others i was browsing when i selected - but i haven't actually stayed at a local comparator so this is just my feeling vs what i was expecting.
There is a barbers just round the corner - lovely man and i got a decent haircut for 70 Dhs (about 6 quid). There is a restaurant called Naima - Bon Couscous about a 2 minute walk from the Riad - they serve only 1 dish - Chicken + Couscous for 100Dhs - was really good. It may be a good place for your first nights meal as it is so close, if you don't fancy eating at the Riad (we did out of convenience and not knowing about Naima, but it was a nice meal) - 2 courses and glass of wine was about 50 quid at the riad.
Trips - we booked a tour of Marrakesh as mentioned plus a day trip to Atlas range via Viator (trip advisors site) - for about 20 pounds each - really good value for money there. I really don't know how they make this work profitably but it included a camel ride and a meal at the end. Well worth it. We also went to the Marjorelle gardens - booked directly with the garden - you have to book a time and even then there is a queue so get there 20mins before allocated slot. Taxi from the main square cost us 40 Dhs one way - they will start with 50+ but if you stick to 40, eventually you will get one. It is walkable - we walked back from the garden - and on route stopped at the handicraft shopping mall - fixed prices there so if you want hassle free shopping - this is worth going to.
Sorry for the long review - but i hope it helps you. Enjoy your trip.
- M8130NZkatieb (10/5): Perfect in every way! - Our stay at Riad Karmela Princesse was absolutely perfect and completely made our holiday in Marrakech!
We stayed as a group of 4 female friends and booked a family suite. I messaged the Riad in advance asking for 4 separate beds in our room, which we got. The suite was decorated beautifully, just like the rest of the Riad. Our beds were comfortable, we all slept really well except for a slight disturbance from the local cockerel in the morning, but I actually quite liked it.
The information email we received from the Riad at the time of booking was really helpful, we used them for transfers from and back to the airport, there's no way we would have found our way to the Riad without their transfer and the staff meeting us and walking with us.
Riad Karmela and Karmela Princesse are absolutely stunning. Our room was in Karmela Princesse but we often went across to Riad Karmela for drinks. We ate there on the first night and it was one of our best meals of our stay. Breakfast was fab too. We loved the rooftops at both Riads, so beautiful and peaceful sat up there in the sun with a glass of wine. We felt very comfortable and safe.
The Riad is perfectly located close to the main square and souks. It was so busy out on the little streets, you can hardly believe how close to everything you are once you're in the Riad. It really is an oasis amongst the hustle and bustle.
I recommend restaurant La Slimana close to the Riad. We had a fantastic meal there and they serve alcohol. Definitely recommend booking for any meals out in Marrakech. I booked 1 week in advance and many restaurants were already full. We really enjoyed lunch at Nomad too.
Finally, I have to say the staff at Riad Karmela and Karmela Princesse were so, so lovely, they honestly cannot do enough for you. We were so well looked after. Thank you to Mohamed, Hakim, Majid and all the staff at both Riads they really did make our stay so special.
If you're going to Marrakech, this is the perfect place to stay!
- Katie (10/5): We loved everything about our stay! - Our stay at Riad Karmela Princesse was absolutely fantastic and completely made our stay in Marrakech! We were a group of 4 friends and booked a family suite. I messaged the Riad in advance and asked for 4 separate beds. All communication with the Riad was promptly replied to. The information email from the Riad we received at the time of booking was really helpful, we used the Riad for transfers from and to the airport, there's no way we would have found our way there without their transfer. The staff honestly cannot do enough for you, thank you to Mohamed, Hakim and Majid and all the staff at both Riads they really did make our stay so special. We loved everything about our stay!
- Glasgowboy001 (10/5): Wonderful - What a wonderful place! Our taxi dropped us off in the nearest square and a lad from the Riad met us and led us and our cases down a narrow alley, then turned into a narrower alley, (all in the mayhem of people and motor bikes that is Marrakesh) stopped beside the Riad door and then- you enter this lovely building.
It was an oasis of calm and the food and the staff were wonderful. The interior is lavishly decorated in Morrocan style and it was a restful peaceful place.
- Ruth (7/5): An oasis of calm in the heart of bustling medina. - Staff were friendly, décor eye catching and good range of items for breakfast Shame plunge pool wasn’t in operation - would’ve been useful to know in advance.
- Jay (6/5): Pleasant - It looked amazing in the pictures, the staff were great and it was nicely furnished. The location was so hidden away, easy to get lost through the souks and inaccessible by taxi or car.
Our room had a terrible smell which was difficult to cope with but no help was offered until the 3rd day of our 4 night stay when a reed diffuser was offered, which didn’t mask the smell.
We were in the Karmela Princess opposite the main riad. There were no facilities or atmosphere so it’s better to stay in the main riad.
- Agataandcat (10/5): Worth recommending - Beautiful place to stay. Inconspicuous from the outside, beautifully furnished inside. Comfortable rooms, tea set, fresh fruit in the room every day, delicious breakfasts. Very helpful and friendly staff, nothing is impossible for them, you have everything you ask for. The Riad made our trip to Marrakesh unforgettable.
- Agata (10/5): Worth recommending - Beautiful place to stay.
- soniab907 (10/5): 5 star! - We have just returned from 3 nights staying in the art deco ceramique room. We had a fabulous trip and the riad was excellent. Amazing service- nothing too much for them. Good breakfast and a very enjoyable Hammam and massage onsite. Excellent location a 10 minute walk through the souks to the main square. Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks for a great trip.
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional - Location is great as close to the square and the souks. You can book your activities directly with the riad if that's your preference. The hospitality is second to none. Great staff that are attentive and aim to make your stay as enjoyable as possible!
- Jan_Bjerre_Aagesen (10/5): Perfect hideaway in the middle of the Medina - As always when my wife and I are traveling, we look for authentic hotels instead of international hotel chains and hotels that has rooms a balcony or a private terrace.
After several emails with hotels where the booking engines told us that the hotels had rooms with private terraces, which was not the case, we found Riad Karmela Prinsesse. A beautiful hotel in the middle of the Medina of Marrakesh and yet so quiet that you would think you were in the countryside.
The hotel is truly authentic and the thoughts bring to One Thousand and One Night and Scheherazade's fantastic stories.
On the lobby area, there is a small candle lit pool, where the guests can take a dip after a warm day, or on colder days sit in front of the fireplace and enjoy an marrocan tea.
On the to floor there is a beautiful terrace, where the guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner or just relax in the sunbeds. Standing on the edge of the jacuzzi you have a perfect view of the Medina and the Atlas mountains.
The friendly staff ensures that you in every possible way are not are in lack of anything.
Room 7 has a spiral staircase that leads up to the large private terrace on the rooftop, where you have a sitting area in the one end and sunbeds and a sofa in the other. If you need anything of want to have breakfast you just go the the gate the terrace and you are in the restaurant and lounge area of the hotel.
The hotel has been refurbished from the ground when the original house was turned into a hotel. In the lobby you will find an book that shows that amazing work that has been done to turn the place into what it is today
All rooms has a different style and has been architected with great respect for matching designs.
The breakfast has a variety of mortician foods as well as international foods along with freshly squeezed orange juice or multi juice. Eggs are made to your liking, just ask the waiter for your style of eggs.
The hotel gives you the perfect place to relax after a day in the busy Medina or just to relax in general with a hamam or a massage at the sister hotel Riad Karmela which is 4 steps from the front door of Riad Karmela Prinsessa.
What you don't expect from a hotel in the Medina is the sound of roosters calling and birds singing in the trees.
It has been a pleasure to stay at the Riad Karmela Prinsessa and we will for sure be staying here again on our return to Marrakesh.
- MARTIN (10/5): - Incroyable, hospitalité et situé en plein coeur de la vieille ville, très spectaculaire.
- 856lizziec (10/5): Beautiful - Great place! Really friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant location too with so many shops and restaurants near by.
We had mint tea and Moroccan biscuits on arrived, which was a lovely gesture.
The restaurant is great too, very pretty surroundings and nice menu.
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional stay with amazing host - The property provided excellent hospitality for the duration of our stay. The staff accommodated us in every way possible, providing information, looking after our needs and the food and ambience was excellent. The location of the property is exceptional, just two minutes walk from the medina. The property is kept to an exceptionally high standard, very clean and constantly maintained.
Our room was fantastic and cleaned every day. There is a nice terrace to take in some sunshine on the rooftop. The staff are very helpful and even arranged a taxi to the nightclub.
Overall we would highly recommend, the staff and host couldn’t do enough for us. Well done 😀 Nothing
- Miguel (10/5): Amazing morrocan Experience - Most beautiful place! Very clean and beautiful like it came out of the movies! Very dedicated and professional staff, excelent breakfast and restaurant, i have no words to describe!
- Giverny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arkadiy (4/5): Disappointing -
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sharmila (10/5): Fabulous stay , definitely be back , - Great location? Rooms and property very quirky. Shame we did not have time for a hamam!
- Will (10/5): - Riad was amazing beautiful décor felt like a true palace and the staff was beyond amazing friendly respectful and extremely attentive and professional. We loved everything and every second there. Will & Daisy.
- Mia (8/5): Super sweet and helpful staff and wonderful central location - Super sweet and helpful staff and wonderful central location.
- Stuart (9/5): Would visit again. Thank you all for making it a great holiday. - Once you navigate your way around it’s a good location to visit Marrakesh Wonderful courtyard and all very quiet to sleep. The staff were amazingly helpful could not do enough for you and always took the time to see if you were ok. Even when the other family members arrived they cooked some food in the evening which was perfect. They managed everything to ensure a very relaxing environment.
- Rachael (9/5): Great location lovely surroundings attentive staff - The Road is in a great location easy to walk to the Medina and Square. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff always cheery and helpful. The property felt very safe
The facilities are really charming and hold a great deal of authentic charm we especially like the roof terrace and plunge pool at the end of a busy day. We are in the restaurant and found the food very nice and due to time of year could sit outside Nothing
- Mannadiar (9/5): Superb - Excellent staff, most including Fathima, were very nice. Very welcoming and polite. Good breakfast. Close to Square (walking distance). We enjoyed sitting in the terrace in the evenings. Breakfast i the terrace was very enjoyable. Over all, very relaxing and comfortable stay. As soon as you walk out, it's busy street and needs to be careful while walking along the street (with two wheelers running fast). However, after the first day, we started enjoying walking along the small streets and makes us feel very authentic
- Annabel (10/5): Haven Rhiad! - The staff were absolutely terrific. Kind, friendly. The rhiad is a haven of peace. All questions answered. Absolutely delightful. Very attentive. Would not hesitate to return.and recommend to friends. Our last night was disrupted by late night noise from children upstairs. We complained and the reception staff told parents. It continued for a little longer. Not the rhiads fault. But very frustrating at the time.
- dankat72 (8/5): Could be better - I had a pleasant stay. The facilities were modern and well-maintained, with a comfortable and clean room. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable, and the common areas were inviting.
However, the staff could have been more attentive. While the service was efficient, a bit more friendliness and willingness to assist would have enhanced the experience.
- poddyjames72 (10/5): An oasis in the Medina - We loved our stay in the Riad, an oasis in the Medina, staff fabulous and helpful, Riad clean, cool and relaxing. It’s a 15 minute walk to the Square either through the Souks or the Main Street., we found the street way turning left at the Mosque the easiest way back (especially at night) The little sandal shop opposite is worth a visit. We used the Hamman in the Riad and thought it was great, totally clean and refreshed after a day in the dusty streets. Oh and keep right!
- MartaPalm (10/5): Incredibly friendly and helpful staff! - The hotel was very nice and extremely confortable. Breakfast was amazing in that they even had gluten free bread which for those of us who cannot eat gluten is really special! The best part of this hotel though was the kindness and helpfulness of it's staff, impecable.
- Stiles (9/5): An absolute gem - The reception and general service from the Karmela Princesse was outstanding.
From the second we walked through the doors until we left, nothing was too much trouble
In fact it starts from when you book... I urge you to take their suggestion of booking transfers direct with them. You'll be glad you did.
Food is delicious, the atmosphere calming, the spa is outstanding!
The information and guidance is available if you need it.
The location is superb
The only marginal negative for us were the ladies serving breakfast
We seemed to be an inconvenience to them. We are not fussy, rude or high maintenance, in fact I would say we're really quite chilled but basic questions like 'are there any more plates please' were met with frowns and brusque tone. Not sure if this was because we were English speaking as other guests didn't seem to receive the same treatment.
This certainly wouldn't stop us from returning to this absolute gem of a riad. I can't imagine this service and atmosphere could be beaten anywhere in Marrakech. If you're considering staying somewhere other than here, it will be your loss
Thanks to all the team at Karmela for ensuring our break was amazing x Breakfast service (attitude) was lacking. Choice of food was great
- Lukasz (10/5): Exceptional - really delicious food - both breakfast and the dinner. The breakfast was very varied, in retrospect it was really the best we had in Marocco. Also the dinner was top notch. We also liked the room decorations. Also, Riad Karmella is the best choice for first time travellers - the staff was very friendly and could speak very good English. Importantly, upon arrival we received all the important information to get around the city including the map. It was a bit stuffy in the rooms so we had to use the AC or open the windows/doors.
- Kacey (10/5): When I go back to Marrakesh- I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to this Riad. Wonderful - Everything! The food, the room, the staff. Highly recommend I loved everything
- Nurcem (10/5): Perfect - Everything was great, all staff was helping, friendly and very welcoming. They informed us very well about the city as soon as we went there. The room was clean and cozy and er totally fell in love with the terrace and the jacuzzi. We had our concerns as two female friend trip but the place felt very safe and there was a security at the entrance of our hotel street. We will definitely choose the same place if we go there again
- Cathy_Bu_1111 (10/5): The perfect place to stay in Marrakesh - Fantastic stay at this beautiful and well located Riad. It is an elegant oasis of calm in the heart of the busy Medina. Our room was perfect and the private roof garden wonderful. The staff were amazing, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful. They really looked after us and are an absolute credit to the hotel. We will definitely be back, thank you.
- Charles (6/5): - Property was beautiful although check out was a bit chaotic and wasn’t explained clearly.
- S9077AFcamillab (10/5): Beautiful Riad - I have just returned from a weekend break with a friend . We were originally booked into the sister Riad, Karmela upon arrival late at night we were greeted with a complimentary drink each, as we had missed dinner and also a upgrade to Princess. Our room was very cosy , clean and comfortable. All of the staff were lovely and attentive. The food n the Karmela restaurant was amazing and there was a gentleman with a guitar singing some lovely mellow songs. Breakfast was also very good. I would highly recommend staying at this Riad. Thank you for a lovely stay.
- Sunnyhaven (8/5): Excellent place to stay and peaceful - What a beautiful Riad. So much better than a hotel. Lovely rooms. We stayed in a junior suite with 3 beds. However 1 bed is up some very narrow stairs. Ok if you're fit and agile. The bathroom could do with modernising though. But the shower was nice and hot and powerful.
Staff were fantastic and took care of us. They couldn't do enough. Wish we had a couple of more days there.
We reached the Riad quite late and most restaurants had shut. But they served us a welcoming drink and a delicious lentil bean soup.
The massage was ok. I have had better.
Food -breakfast choice was plenty if you eat everything. They cater for gluten free although they thought gluten free and vegan was the same. Not much choice for vegans. Paratha style and corn bread were vegan. They had soya milk.
The vegan dinner menu was almost non existence but they offered to make us food which was all tasty.
The location is OK. Tucked away but that means no noise from outside. You would need to get a tuktuk to take you there unless you knew the alleyways
We would return.
- Marion (10/5): Hidden gem in Marrakech - Everything!!
Breakfast was very good with lots of choices, facilities were good. We had dinner in the sister Riad, Riad Karmela and the food was delicious. The staff is incredibly attentive and made our night. .
- Andrew (8/5): Friendly and comfortable hotel, right in the Medina. - Lovely ambience. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of space to chill out. Beautiful decorations. Shower not draining properly. Breakfast could have had more variety and better coffee.
- Philip (9/5): Beautiful and peaceful place to stay - The Riad is a beautiful peaceful oasis inside the busy Medina. It is a relaxing place, with a great restaurant and bar and rooftop terrace. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room furnishings were very beautiful For some guests, the noise and chaos of the streets of the Medina might be too stressful.
- Marion (10/5): Amazing stay in Marrakech - Exceptional experience!! I definitely recommend it, it totally exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly attentive and always helpful. Big variety of options for breakfast, dinner was really good as well (vegetarian options available!).
We always felt safe and like we were at home. This place is a little oasis in the Medina.
10/10, will definitely come back!
- Robert (9/5): A very friendly & convenient hotel in a building full of traditional character. Strongly recommended - The breakfast was very good and the very central location both interesting and convenient. Staff were always extremely helpful and friendly. nothing
- Tozito (9/5): Superb - Location, right in the middle of the medina. Service and staff always wanting to exceed expectations. Breakfast. Sound isolation of the rooms.
- Chantal (10/5): A surprising exclusive Riad in the Medina - The location and the exclusive decoration and ambiance. Actually nothing
- Duane (9/5): Superb -
- Prashant (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location, walking distance from all attractions within the Medina as it's very central. Staff were fantastic! Great breakfast! Would definitely recommend.
- Claudia (9/5): Surprisingly nice Riad in super location - The Riad is very well located in the middle of the medina. We have never stayed anywhere where the staff are so nice and helpful. Nothing is to much for them. We immediately felt at home. Breakfast is good with planty of choice. Next time we visit Marrakech we will definitely come back! We cannot think of anything that was disappointing. It actually exceeded our expectations.
- Justin Tyler (10/5): - Look no further. Central to everything you want to see and do. The staff is amazing and super friendly. Also safe and enjoyable for LGBTQ .
- Jean (5/5): Passable - The staff were very polite Tv is useless
Wifi signal was really bad
Location seems sketchy
- KD (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised to be at the property, the pictures are a true experience, the staff was amazing the location was central to everything. This is a must stay property!!!
- Joanne (10/5): - Stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful stay. The place is an oasis of tranquility in the busy medina. The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was lovely. We had a massage there and that was better than the massage we had at another place where we went for a hamman. But on top of that it’s the staff that get this place 5 stars. Welcoming, attentive, friendly and extremely helpful. They gave us recommendations, made phone calls for trips, organised taxis and tuktuks and changed money. Without them we’d have spent a lot more time searching the medina - which is also part of the point of going to Marrakech -but not if you want to be somewhere at a set time!
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional -
- DANIEL (6/5): - Bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. Otherwise the place was satisfactory.
