- Selvi (10/5): - Perfecte stop op doorreis of voor langer verblijf. Mooie locatie aan de Rhône, restaurants in oude stad op loopafstand. Hotel is charmant en van alle gemakken voorzien. Goede bedden, ruime familiekamer met goede climatisering (het was 38 graden de dag dat we aankwamen). Ontbijt is heel uitgebreid en van goede kwaliteit.

- Gerardus (8/5): - Prachtig oud hotel wel gedateerd maar voorzien van een lift. Lift direct aan de rivier met een prachtig uitzicht wel aan een drukke weg. Prima bellen. Alleen de badkamer is een beetje problematisch omdat het douchegordijn naar beneden valt en de warme water koud erg vast zit.

- Amalia (10/5): Location, Location, Locafion - It has a fantastic location with an incredible view of the Rhône and Tain l’Hermitage. It’s right next to the footbridge to walk across the Rhône. Most restaurants are easy to walk to, and the owner , Matilda, is very helpful and friendly. She parked us in a private garage.

Very convenient location for exploring the area on foot both sides of the river and by car for the Train de l'Ardeche and Doux valley. Parking very tight and limited around hotel but large free car park nearby. Highly recommended.

- Helle B (8/5): Fin beliggenhed og god stemning - Rigtig godt hotel lige ved den gamle bro, der går over til Tain L’Hermitage. Vi har boet der 2 gange med charmerende udsigt til floden, broen og vinbjergene. Meget venlig betjening og super morgenmad endda til lav pris. Alt pænt og rent og hyggelig atmosfære. Kommer gerne igen.

- KATIA (10/5): Belle étape sur la Via Rhôna - Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Nos vélos ont pu être à l'abri dans le garage fermé sans surcoût. Notre chambre donnait sur le Rhône. Jolie vue sur le vignoble de Tain l'Hermitage en face. Aucun bruit malgré la route traversante, il y a du triple vitrage. Petit déj très complet avec des produits maison. Nous vous recommandons de réserver ici si vous êtes de passage à Tournon ;-)

- Jonathan (10/5): Very good - It's an old convent with some nice architectural features, well renovated into a hotel. Great location, very friendly. I have the impression that the renovation is ongoing, but it's perfectly fine as is.

- Ian (8/5): Cyclists stopover - We stayed 1 night on a cycling trip down the Rhone. Found the hotel staff very hospitable and friendly. Access to secure garage for bike storage was simple. Rooms were fine and very comfortable, though perhaps slightly "tired", though that was not a problem for us. Breakfast was really good, with excellent variety of cereals, bread, eggs, cake and loads more. Location was very handy for the town with bars, restaurants all within easy walking distance. In summary, excellent value for money. I'd happily stay again if passing this way.

- Gillian (10/5): - Tournon sur Rhone is a regular overnight stop for us. Hotel le Chateau is an old building splendidly situated overlooking the Rhone. We were a little concerned that next to the main road it might be noisy but the double (or triple?) glazing was excellent - we didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast options were outstanding. Will definitely re-book on our next trip.

- Sergej (10/5): - Haben zum zweiten Mal im 4 Bett Zimmer für eine Nacht übernachtet. Die Zimmer sind sehr gross, sauber, alles dabei. Auch Parkplatz kann man dazu buchen, was sehr praktisch ist.

Attention :stationnement réglementé sur l'ensemble de Tournon et aucune possibilité devant la porte. Obligation de se garer au grand parking gratuit en bord de fleuvemais lilite à 4h en journee. Quai avec beaucoup de circulation mais double fenêtre qui rend le bruit supportable. La nuit la circulation est heureusement reduite. Bon accueil. Petit dejeuner tres copieux et varié. A noter : un ascenseur tres pratique pour monter les bagages. Pas de restauration. Proximité de la passerelle pour traverser sur l'autre rive

There is a police station next door, a walking bridge to Tain about 100 steps from the hotel and the medieval shop lined street was right behind the hotel.

We were pleased to be able garage our car in a locked space attached to the hotel. The hotel was an ideal place for us to stop in our journey from the south of France to the north.

En revanche, si vous passez le mercredi à Tournon, pensez à réserver un restau pour dîner car de nombreux sont fermés le même soir.
- Jean Yves (8/5): Hôtel de charme mais qui mériterait une rénovation - L'etablissement est.tres bien situé dans le coeur de tournon. Belle vue sur le fleuve. La rue est plutôt bruyante et passante. L'etablissement est de charme mais dans son jus. La salle de bain est antique.

- Birgitta (10/5): En övernattning - Vi hade ett fint rim mot floden. Hotellet ligger perfekt i staden. Charmigt men lite slitet. Det finns ett par tre platser i garaget men det är mycket trångt där. Vi valde att köpa till frukost och den var ok.

La stanza è semplice ma molto funzionale e pulitissima. Solo il bagno potrebbe necessitare di essere rinnovato ma va bene anche così! La hall e la sala della colazione sono molto carine. Matildhe, la ragazza della reception, è gentilissima e molto accogliente. La colazione perfetta con torte fresche, croissant e pain au chocolate favolosi e una selezione di formaggi molto interessante. Ottimo e con una qualità prezzo davvero unica.

- Patrick (8/5): Why not !!! - Bien situé. Accueil enjoué, serviable et efficace. Chambre (2 lits double) de bon taille et assez confortable. Traffic intense à proximité, donc pour dormir fenêtres ouvertes....!!!! La salle de bain/wc pourrait être rénovée. Mais dans l'ensemble un rapport qualité / prix interessant.

- Carole (10/5): Très bien - Accueil chaleureux par la jeune propriétaire des lieux. Sourire et disponibilité de l’arrivée au départ. Situation parfaite avec vue sur Tain et sa colline, le Rhône mais aussi la rue un peu bruyante au pied de l'hôtel. Mais le double vitrage de la fenêtre est très efficace ! Petit déjeuner avec de très bons produits locaux et « maison ». À conseiller.
- Robert (8/5): Nice revisit of Hotel Le Chateau - This was a repeat visit to the Hotel Le Chateau. The staff was very friendly and helpful, offering a few great recommendations of restaurants. The location is fantastic, right at the bridge to Hermitage. The hotel is an older hotel, but the room size was fine, and the bathrooms were a good size. There is no AC in the Fall/Winter, so plan to open the windows. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room without a view. The street traffic, and late night pedestrians were loud, and made for a sleepless night.

- couple (8/5): - Hotel stands right on the river Rhone. It a very old building that as been modernise but not to the extent that it hasn't lost its charm or character, our room was right on the front facing the river and the road , must say no traffic noise. Room very clean with good wifi. the young lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful regarding where to park the car locally as no room in their garage. Breakfast was continental with local cheeses and jams. Would certainly return.
- Margaret (8/5): Good - We stayed just one night on our way back from Frejus. Hotel was clean and rooms basic but suited us. I had to climb stairs which I am not good at as there is no lift. Host was helpful and car parking secure. Our only issues were with the restaurant.Breakfast was OK but the evening meal left a lot to be desired. Portions too large by far. Had a terrine of pork as a starter which was very large and shop bought. Steak good quality very large but plate filled with about 15 small potatoes which had been boiled then fried or put in oven. Skins not cleaned and some looked older than others. So many good restaurants around I would suggest a better chief to stay in contention for custom.

- David (6/5): No problems with this stay. - Our room was small and very basic... Located two floors up with no lift.... Great view of the river and helpful staff. Not expensive... So OK..!
- Heather (8/5): Overlooking the Rhone - Check in easy and able to communicate in English. Dined in and meal of good quality but restaurant poorly patronised. A pity really. On site parking a bonus.
