Guest Reviews
- roadseniors (8/5): To many dogs in casino - We love this casino and like the staff and machines. This time we noticed that there were so many dogs allowed to be in the casino. We have encountered a few dogs in carriers or baby strollers. But this time was different. Dogs were on long leashes and the owners not watching as they were playing on machines. The dogs were stretched across aisles for a tripping hazzard. One dog peed and the owner did not notice or care. I would prefer to not have to dodge dog leashes or accidents from dogs when I visit the casino.
- Culture59698576851 (2/5): Very poor place to go no fun - Been to couer d alene casino and resort.im not an everyday gambler and just decided with my wife to try it out.reports inside the casino were that chances were 7 percent winnings ,soumded so good we tried it.now we are lower working class american adults of qhom enjoy a good time at a great place whether it be rezurant or casino theatre or store.here goes:casino had no life dead as can be everyone just pretty much didnt hoot holler or say a word absolutely zero fun and zero enjoyment very lame to be certain.placed over 360 dollars in bets on various machines and lost sometimes 20 times in a row.8 here 30 there 50 there even trying differe t strategies.as we were coached to do by casinoers.lost every si gle penny not to mention the 360 dollars it took to get here..BE ADVISED COUER D ALENE CASINO IS A DEAD BUST.DO NOT GO THERE.HAVE A GREAT DAY AMERICA
- LillyChristina (10/5): Love this place! - Excellent! We love staying here. Rooms are clean, cozy, the casino is a blast and. The food is great. The service is excellent and the value o wonderful.
- G6116GRdaleh (6/5): Casino fun, room lacking. - The staff seemed helpful, except for one older woman at the spa hotel receptionist desk. The Casino was fun. We won some but not much. Restaurant food was good at the Red tail. The rooms were lacking on the spa side for the price.... Horrible mattress, mushy and leaned sideways. For a spa room I guess I was expecting more. Bathroom lacked counter space and shower head definitely hit you in the face.
- KlaudiaC780 (10/5): Another amazing stay - We just returned from 2 nights at this favorite spot in Coeur d'Alene, and once again the total experience was an 11 out of 10.
From ease of check in, to the room (with off season rates, what a great deal!), the food and service at the restaurants and bars all came together to create an awesome experience.
Beverly's may be the best dinner in town. We made a reservation ahead of time for night one; the food and service were so good we made a second reservation for night two. Sarah is a phenomenal server, we had so much fun with her.
Kyle at Whispers for cocktails: knowledgeable, great cocktails, fun conversation. It's refreshing when the staff is charming and completely at ease.
The lakeside (higher floors) rooms are gorgeous, view, layout, comfortable large bathroom, with the fireplace a lovely extra touch.
We come back again and again, but the staff this time around really made a difference. Thank you.
- E1178TFpatm (10/5): Great casino with friendly, helpful staff and great food - This casino is very clean and the staff was very friendly as well. We had an excellent dinner while watching the Packers win. The service was excellent prices were very reasonable. The room was very comfortable. They also had a nice coffee shop with delicious doughnuts and pastries
- Road245116 (2/5): Go anywhere but here. Unfortunate but needs too many improvements to list. - Hotel that fails on every level. Rooms are old and dated. Chemicals used in abundance throughout to cover up the other smells. Slept on a pile of hair that masqueraded as a bed. Service is very minimal, people don't seem to be happy. Should have known that when I checked in and they don't put on the reservation which side of "resort" you are on, this would be a problem. No compassion at all.... avoid at all costs.
- Y7090WYjohng (2/5): I hate you - I would say it's the worst casino ever went in there spent $3,000 didn't win a penny got treated like garbage and got robbed pretty much the same time cuz it didn't win a thing $3,000 and didn't win one bonus nothing the worst ever I hope it burns down
- N3036DCserenad (2/5): The resteraunt failedterrible - My ribs were like over cooked beef jerky they splintered like shattered in spikes when he chomping it so easy to become internal bleeding if my healthy big dog dies likes this had u properly made our ribs and chickens pieces were terrible if he dies I'm getting peoples fired for real
- gordonm139 (4/5): Rather spend the money on an RV park - Hello All,
We stopped here on our way to Wallace, Idaho. The Casino offers free RV parking over night and charges a fee for electrical hook-up. We wanted 50 AMP so we could run our A/C because of the warm temps. We didn't need the full hook-ups for one night. We were given space 3 which had 50 AMP hook ups. The front desk had our reservation. We had never been to the Casino before so I asked where space 3 was. The clerk said, "It's written on the ground." I said but where is the site?. The clerk told me I'd find it. So, we drove around several aisles in the RV area which had row numbers the clerk did not mention. We finally found our spot and backed-in. We were able to open our slides. But the site was so slanted that our jacks lifted the front tires off of the ground. Which, we have been told, is not good for the RV. So, we put the jacks up and spent the night.
Safe travels
- dtshep37 (10/5): Casino where you can win - I love casinos and gambling, which is a double-edged sword. As Sinatra sang "I've been riding high in April, shot down in May." While it's painful to leave casinos after losing money, I win frequently at Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel. I don't know how casinos set their video gaming machines, but I do know some casinos are tighter than others. And I find this casino player friendly. Last time I was there I won $6.5k, and the time before that $2k. Another cool thing about this casino is the Discovery Den where they have brand new machines and the casino is the first to have guests test them out before they go to other venues. The service is friendly, the Spa Wing rooms are very nice, and the restaurants and bars are many. I particularly love the Native American decor and the tribal vibe that permeates the property. Can't wait to go back. It's my favorite casino.
- CyndyK (10/5): Best! - Absolutely love this resort and casino. I have stayed in the Spa Tower and the Lodge rooms and actually love the older lodge rooms. Both sides have very nice and clean rooms. The casino is the best! Love that they have a large no smoking section and a large smoking section so that everyone can enjoy themselves. Every is friendly. The food choices are very good. I only wish that the rooms had microwaves. We enjoy gambling but would like to order food and save it for later on. Other than that we love staying here. Would recommend to anyone heading that way.
- dtshep37 (10/5): Perfect golf casino getaway - Visited the casino resort for a golf trip. Its owned and operated by the Coeur d'Alene Tribe. The Circling Raven Golf Club there is 10 out of 10; it was extremely enjoyable playing the course, which we did twice. We stayed in the Spa Tower, which is the newer of the two hotel wings. The older Mountain Wing is in need of refurbishing which I was told is being scheduled for the near future. The Spa Tower rooms were excellent - clean, comfy, quiet, large, with Native themed decor. The food at Red Tail and Chinook restaurants was tasty, with Red Tail casual and Chinook finer dining. The food court has Little Dragon (Asian) and a new pizza eatery (Arrowhead) is supposed to open in November 2024 we were told. And the Twisted Earth bar and grill at Circling Raven's clubhouse was one of the better restaurants experienced at a golf club that I've encountered. The service throughout the resort was excellent as the casino hotel and golf staffs went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. I am gambler so I spent much time playing the video gaming machines and had a lot of luck, winning several thousand. There are non-smoking areas and a high-limit area, and the casino is clean and well decorated. All in all, this was a great experience. Can't wait to go back.
- georgemD2293CS (2/5): Go to the quest - The room was just average. Definitely could use an update. The slots are ridiculously tight. I blew thru so much money with next to nothing pay back. Took a day trip to the quest and did excellent on the slots. Came back checked out and headed to the quest for the next 7 days. The same costs for a room but almost brand new. We had a great time at the quest and did well on the machines. . I will never return to this casino again.
- Ex-Slb-and-Happy (10/5): Great Casino Hotel - On a road trip from Spokane to Billings, Grand Forks and back, decided to detour a little to this Indian Reservation Casino for a bit of R&R.
I was not disappointed in the hotel, but the nights we stayed the food choices were extremely limited, so we drove down past Worley to a local restaurant that was amazing.
Great rooms with large beds and good AC.
Staff were so polite and early checkin was allowed free, thank you.
Worth a visit if passing by.
Note that this casino only has video tables to play at, no live casino tables. Lots of slots also.
- gcleff11 (8/5): Great Spot for an RV Stop... - Any long-mile RV travelers on Hwy 95 should have this place circled for a safe stop, and good experience if you like casino atmospheres. I'm not a gambler, but the Wifey likes to pull the handle on some penny games, and I like to sample what casino dining options there are. As far as leveling: It's all on a slight down hill slope tarmac, even the powered sites. But any leveling items you have will do the job. Hard to think of a more affordable, nicer option when roadside traveling, if you can handle a night of dry camping. We look for destinations when we do our weekend getaways. This place is in the rotation, now...
- drtom100 (8/5): Can have a fun time here,. - The hotel room was fine. We prefer the tower but it is just not worth the extra price. Our only complaint about the casino is that they have no table games with human dealers. The casino is pleasant and clean. We go here because they still allow smoking. We have fun without loosing a lot of money.
- Jfocht (8/5): Nice hotel, casino and golf resort - First time staying in hotel. Check in fine, rooms are very spread out. Signage is a little confusing, but found my room(3rd floor). Standard hotel room with shower over tub. Everything was very clean. They could use some better pillows, queen size bed with kiddie size pillows. Pleasant room. Casino has grown and has non smoking area as well. Not too generous on the slots, no table play. Valet parking was not very active, I drove up at 5 pm, saw no one at kiosk, waited a bit, but didn’t see anyone. So I self parked. When I came in I saw the valet sitting inside. Food at the Red Tail grill was okay, I had a chimichanga. It was a little dry but nice presentation. Overall good stay and friendly people!
- leighmcd (6/5): Nice but does not measure up to others - Pros: clean easy check in, friendly and helpful staff, convenient to casino and free electric scooters for guests.
Cons: Uncomfortable beds, lack of towels and toilet paper, cheap horrible pillows
Economy hotel trying to pretend it is a midrange hotel
- Z8752KRlindap (2/5): Don’t waste your money or time. Hotel and food terrible. - What a joke. Stayed on a Tuesday night. Steak house closed. Food court closed. The hostess at Red Tail Grill rude. Waited over an hour and half and still no table. Rooms are dated and cold. Tables in the Huckleberry Deli all dirty. Very poorly run.
- 543justyj (10/5): Great place to go - The spa tower is super nice. The bathroom is big and fancy too. I love gaming in the casino and I have been lucky on my favorite machines. I use my rewards club card and earn points for dining for free. This is a friendly place and I feel safe.
- JoniK534 (8/5): Very Comfortable Surroundings - The casino hosted our convention and gave us a group room rate. I chose a room in the Mountain tower rather than the Spa tower. I'll list the cons first, because they need to be detailed. The very spacious room actually needed a 3rd trash can (besides one in the bathroom and one by the TV). The room also needed to be vacuumed more thoroughly as I found some food debris between the sofa sleeper and the coffee table as well as in some corners. Dusting needed improvement as well: there was dust and cobwebs on the corner lamp, and lighting was inadequate. The window gave light during the day but this very large room needed a lamp by the sofa and one on the desk. The new style with multiple USB ports would be very convenient. The worst part is what most hotels now invoke: no room remake "due to COVID." What crap. If a room is tidied every day, it makes the turnover less arduous.
Now the pros: The bed was great, the room was huge, the bathroom had been updated and had attractive fiishes and space. There was a minifridge, lots of storage, a closet with real hangers, not captive hangers, and ample seating: desk chair, large easy chair, and sofa. Plus, the casino had good options for very tasty food and drink! The pool and fitness center were well planned. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
- tomaW2964UW (2/5): Terrible! Beware! Staff Threatened Us with Security Because We Complained of No Hot Water - Never in my life have I given 1/5. If there were no starts that would have been my choice.
Don’t frequent the Couer d’Alene Casino, or at least don’t consider building 4.
My sister and her husband came into town so we decided to spend the night at the Couer d’Alene Casino Hotel. I will be candid, I am not a picky person. My wife is more of a “never come back but not complain” person. On the other hand, my sister, who just retired from owning a four-star restaurant expects quality when promised. We rented two side-by-side rooms in the CDA Casino Spa building (4). To me, the rooms were fine but I am easily satisfied. I will admit it was not as nice as I expected. They were clean.
We spent the evening on CDA Cruise and had a decent night’s sleep back at the hotel. I was the first to wake up and attempted to shower. No hot water. I ran the water for about 10 minutes with no change. This is when it became ridiculous. I went down to the front desk to report the issue. The young lady was polite but this is how the conversation went:
“Sir – run the water for 30 minutes and see if it helps.”
“I did it for 10 minutes, and it never warm up more than lukewarm. Is my room the only other room without hot water?”
I am a medium-sized 64-year-old retired teacher. My only encounter with the law was a speeding ticket 32 years ago. I am not too imposing and most would call me too polite. But the next comment caught me off guard and I truly felt threatened.
“Sir, if you want, I can call maintenance, but if I do, I will also have to call security to accompany them.”
“I am sorry. I am trying to be polite but doesn’t this sound hoaky?”
“Sir, your room sits at the end of the line for heated water and you are attempting to shower at the busiest time.”
“But we paid full price and were never told about issues.”
Shebang! The real problem? The hotel does not maintain enough water. We were there on a Thursday and the hotel and parking lot we were in appeared to be less than 25% full. How could there be any water ever, if the other three buildings were full of guests? How can you rent rooms like that?
But, she followed up by restating “Sir, if you are not satisfied, I can call maintenance, but as I said, I will also have to call security to accompany them.”
My sister was able to coerce a $30 refund. Was a room with no hot water still worth $170. Nope!
We could never shower up to checkout and as we were leaving we encountered two other patrons with the same encounter. All were told the same story and were threatened in the same manner. I realize I didn’t teach physics, but it seems that if you tell everyone in the building to turn on your water and run it warm for 30 minutes, you are only perpetuating the problem.
We were on a Native American reservation with reservation laws being threatened with Native American security by a Native American attendant. I will drive through the reservation because I have no choice. But I don’t think I will ever spend my money in that casino or hotel. I did not feel welcome.
- Rick_the_Librarian (4/5): Underwhelmed.... - Not particularly impressed but the only place to stay near our destination. The clerk did not go over the charges and we got billed $90 over what we had been quoted. We finally got it explained the next morning.
While everything was clean, the bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows. It was hard to find anything to eat. A casino wasn't our up of tea - the near-zombie-like appearance of those participating was a little hard to put up with. But again, they were the only game in town.
- snddowns (10/5): Would go again - This was my first time at a Casino / Resort and it was truly a fun experience. The staff was so helpful and friendly, especially the valets. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were also.
- Haggis_2023 (6/5): pleasure trip bus tour - well we were disappointed with this resort we arrived on a Sunday for 3 nights stay and on a tour we have to get all the information and room key that process is gong show 54 people jammed in to a small area ? So after that we were told that most of the restaurants were closed until the middle of the week so we had the choice of the Red Tail grill or the Huckleberry deli? Then we went to the casino where we tried to use the free money that they gave us and is. Worst system ever ? Complicated to say the least we found out that it only works on on the newer machines? We stayed in the Mountain lodge section and that is very tried carpet are showing signs of wearing out and the rooms need updating? We will not be back
- Rust-E-Junque (10/5): Specifically Redtail Bar & Grill , had breakfast there .. - Went to the Redtail Grill for breakfast , was surprised they offered a weekend buffet! Waiter was wonderfull , filled our coffee several times , got me hot sauce for biscuits & gravy , a brand I hadn't tried before ,, Vandal brand made in Idaho , was pretty good! Was an older guy , I think I heard a hint of a Hispanic accent, best waiter we've had in a while! And we came out of the casino with more money than we went in with!
- LeBois (10/5): A little gem in the heart of Idaho - We have been frequent guests of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort on many occasions over the years. The tribe has built an impressive hospitality and entertainment operation that keeps us coming back regularly. We are also impressed with how the tribe has used the success of the resort to invest back into the people of the tribe region through healthcare, youth services and many other activities which have improved the quality of life for all.
The resort has two distinctly different hotels (the Mountain Lodge and Spa Towers) which are connected by the casino and restaurants. The Spa Tower is the newer wing and we always recommend staying there for a number of reasons.
All of the Spa Tower rooms and common areas are totally nonsmoking (and only connect to the main casino through the nonsmoking gaming area). They feature a modern, clean design aesthetic. The mattresses are very comfortable for a great night’s sleep. The rooms are amply sized with a writing desk and comfy sitting chairs. The bathrooms are large, well lit, and include a separate ample soaking tub and shower.
The muted color palette in the Spa Towers and huge floor-to-ceiling windows afford lovely views of the surrounding fields and forests. I recommend requesting a room that faces the golf course. This isolated resort is set among the beautiful fields and forest country so you’ll want to enjoy the view.
We mostly stay in Deluxe King rooms but most recently stayed in a Sunrise Suite which is pictured in this review. This suite and the Chief Suite are ideal for entertaining guests. The tubs are jetted in the suites.
The Red Tail offers a consistently solid upscale pub menu and we eat there every trip. The breakfast ribeye steak and eggs is divine—ask to have it served blackened Cajun style. Chinook is the relaxed higher end offering and I always enjoy their prime rib and burger with mushrooms.
One of our favorite aspects of the resort is the comprehensive spa. It is a beautiful retreat with three different tubs, two saunas and great professional services. We love to hit a few times per year for just the two of us or with friends. Be sure to make a reservation in advance and plan to spend some extra time relaxing and enjoying a mimosa.
The adjoining Circling Raven golf course is truly beautiful and a real challenge to play, but the views and serenity make up for the frustrations caused by the little white ball. Tip—even if you’re not golfing, enjoy a walk from the resort to the golf clubhouse for lunch or a snack. You can walk on the cart path.
There are plenty of slots and the updated new games in the Discovery Den are appreciated. The casino hosts and generous loyalty program take good care of their more frequent guests in a genuine and warm way. They hold special thank you events and are genuinely happy to see you upon your return.
As with any property, it’s the people that make the difference. Great examples of this are Cocoa and Spirit in the host office, John in the spa, Britnee at the Wolf Den bar, Christina in Red Tail, Felix in Chinook and of course Frank with his famous Sunday omelettes. Friendliness, warmth and professionalism are big winners at this casino. I encourage the management to recognize these (and other) high-performing team members. They exemplify the “Welcome Home” ethos.
Also, please keep the Spa Towers something distinct and special. We love the higher-end look and feel of the original design and would not want to see it change.
Thank you for always making our stays so special!
- sherwoodparkian (6/5): A Bit Disappointing - My friend & I stayed one night (October 14) in the Mountain Lodge section. We had a two queen room on the 3rd floor. The hallways are dark and dingy, the carpet looks decades old, the rooms are tired and dated. I would like to know what the rooms in the Spa Tower are like, as that section looks newer. The front desk staff need improvement. The check-in guy seemed grumpy. On check-out, my friend's credit card wouldn't go through (due to their system as she used it the rest of the day with no problem) and she had to withdraw $ from the ATM. There was no apology from the staff. The casino has lots of machines, but not a single black jack table or roulette table. I think they are short staffed right now. What we didn't realize is that the casino (except for a small area) allows smoking, and so all of our clothes just stunk of cigarette smoke when we left the casino at the end of the evening. We wanted ice for the room and it required hiking shoes and a map to find a functioning ice machine. Even the staff didn't know where to find a working ice machine. That said, other than the front desk staff, every employee that we spoke to was very friendly and very helpful. We would not come back here though due to the extreme second hand smoke in the casino, and the old, outdated hotel rooms. Next time I would look for a smoke free casino with actual table games and newer and fresher rooms.
- 430marlah (10/5): Nice place, nice rooms - Had not been here for a few years but was pleasantly surprised at how big it has gotten. Still very comfortable rooms. Very big casino, good variety of machines. Lots of places to eat and drink. Will definitely go back and stay. Very clean , friendly staff.
