Guest Reviews
- Roujia (8/5): - The location is great — you can pretty much ski right out the door, and food is just upstairs. The place is also pretty well-equipped. The window’s a bit drafty—maybe the seal’s worn out and it’s not sealing properly anymore. It’s been super windy these past few days, so the room hasn’t been that warm, but luckily the heater’s pretty strong. The circuit near the fridge is a bit odd — it occasionally trips if something’s turned on in another room.
- Tamer (7/5): Good value and great place to stay for short stay, would get very small for longer stays. - Was well priced compared to the competition.
Good location on the mountain, very short walk to main ski slope (30m) and good location for access to village.
Could fit a family of 4 (but would be tight)
Receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
Can use store-room to store luggage before and after chec out times so u can ski both before and after checking in without worrying what you should do with your luggage.
Large drying room available for your wet gear to dry after skiing.
abom has a bar and meals available. Abom is Iconic. You have to carry your luggage up and down stairs when you get out of the taxi to get into and out of ABOM.
A small chair and desk in the room would be useful (however room was tight so probably that's why there was none.) So there was nowhere to sit in the room other than your bed.

- Anthony (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. My son and I had a great stay. Great value and very close to everything.
- Tahni (10/5): -
- Lam (5/5): 地點好,房間簡陋 - 位置好,在雪道旁邊 房間太簡陋,連一張枱也沒有。前台時常沒有員工。放滑雪工具的房間太簡陋,不方便。
- Nicola (7/5): - Location of ski in ski out was great Restaurant hours downstairs not really conducive to skiing . Not open early enough to be on slopes first thing
- David (8/5): Overall very nice accommodation and holiday. Great location walking distance to main village. - Great location walking distance to village and close to shuttle bus stop. Staff friendly. Drying room very handy to keep ski gear and luggage the day we left. Had all the things we needed. Microwave would have been handy. Bunks were a bit squeaky! TV reception wasn't good but probably just the location.

- Mann (5/5): -
- Julie (8/5): - location was great. no one was ever on reception.
- Mei Hong (6/5): - Location was great Basic facilities, small rooms
- Stephen (9/5): Wonderful snow break - Great location, lovely and warm and clean It’s a good rural location standard, not to the quality of a metro hotel but we didn’t expect that. I had read lots of negative reviews before booking but I was pleasantly surprised.
- Errol (9/5): Awesome staff - Location Squeaky beds
- Michelle (6/5): - The staff were all very helpful The TV didn't work

- Amelia (7/5): Surprisingly pleasant despite the reviews I had read before going! - I read so many reviews saying this hotel was terrible, but it wasn't bad at all! Yes it's a little tired and run down, but it's comfy, great location and we even had a balcony in our room! Bathrooms were a nice large size and staff let us check-in early and store our items and get changed for a day on the slopes! Bit confusing to get to, wish we received an email explaining exactly where to go and how to get there once we got to the village (like do we get a bus... do we walk... etc). Entry door was quite hidden!
- Cheryl (5/5): Snow play - That it was in the snow and close to all amenities. The double bunks could be taken out to make room for a little table as there was nowhere to sit to have a coffee you had to sit on the double bed. Very small for 3 people.
- W (6/5): Was good overall for a place to camp after skiiing - Location Space, ageing facilities.
- Jessica (4/5): - The location was great but the room was very ran down and aged!
The TV did not work, the pillows were disgusting and should have been thrown out 20 years ago. The kettle was growing mold so it was unusable. It needs alot of work to reflect the price they charge!

- Natalie Hadgecostas (8/5): -
- John (2/5): Pokey room, disappointing at best. - Nothing, other than the shower was good. Seemed run-down. Television was inoperative (remote control was missing). Seemed understaffed.

- William (5/5): They may want to change a new mattress . - Good location Cheapest
- Nithin (5/5): Average - Convinent location During check out , we have asked additional 30mins for us to pack the things but the Staff Member have not agreed to it. We need to pack our things very quickly with the allocated time.
- sunil chowdary (10/5): -
- Connie (5/5): We loved the snow, didn't think much of the facilities at ABOM. Passable. - Loved the location The food wasn't great in the bistro. The fact that guests could not internally access rooms was a big negative. We had to walk around the outside of the building to get back to our rooms. It would have been much easier for us to access the rooms from the bistro area. Also the music whilst eating dinner was so loud! Just turn it down a notch.
- Lesley (5/5): -
- Seema (7/5): Overall good - Room location and comfort inside the room No water available for drinking and cant even make any coffee and no internet available
- rebecca (7/5): -
- Jackson (5/5): Fine for one night - Good location, great to be able to store luggage before check in and after check out Old and dated, can be noisy - they do have a sorry note in the room apologising for this though, staff not always available at front desk which is a pain if you arrive early and want to drop stuff before hitting the slopes.

- Michael (1/5): Never staying at ABOM again - Location
Clean Beds were very uncomfortable and noisy
Hair dryer didn’t work
Some tv channels didn’t work
Was given a room 2 floors down even after requesting ground floor
- devenish (3/5): - Location for ski in and out The bed was like concrete, mould in bathroom and room, pillows useless, doona too small , not being told about a 30min check in window until 4pm day of check in, when 20min away from hotel, and check in started at 4pm, not being told on day of arrival Xmas in just was held at the hotel we were staying in., location of reception no being indicated correctly as main photo for location shows restaurant enterance only

- Heng Thuan (3/5): The only thing we like is the staff is very helpful. The room was not very comfortable. - staffs are helpful. Not very comfortable and the shower gel and shampoo had the smell that I vomited after using them.

- Benjamin (10/5): -
- Beadman (9/5): -
- Harveer (1/5): Average hotel - We would like more different types of essentials in the room. We didn't like how the area was small and they were a lot of stairs to the room.

- ROBYN (7/5): We had a lovely time - Staff were helpful The rooms were not well looked after.

- celeste (3/5): - great location no staff, no reception, mould in bathrooms, broken furniture
- Philip (6/5): -
- Steven (1/5): -
- Leonora (7/5): awesome apart from getting injured skiing hahaha - location was good but the amount of stairs inside was insane. There was a fire alarm one day adn no-one seemed to know we were there. Not enough info about facilities in there such as times for food places. Overall pretty good and a bit cheaper than others. as above
- Gennadiy (8/5): Not bad. - Location, room comfort. Entrance!!! 2 stairs to claim with skis every time!!!
No shuttle service on arrival.
Fire alarm with evacuation 20/07 at 20.30 pm!!! With no explanations or apologies!!!
- Mackerras (8/5): Very good -
- Rebecca (6/5): Basic accomodation but in the best spot! Perfect for kids to get to ski school and to get around. -
- (roy (9/5): Superb -
- Adam (7/5): Good - good location. clean Room was a bit dated for the money. was windy and windows not sealed so cold air blowing in.
- Edsel (2/5): Very poor -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not much to like, very run down and extremely overpriced
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The Abom is the worst hotel in the best location.
There are a number of other hotels and lodges around to choose from, though this one is really in the best spot for accessing ski school.
Everything else about the Abom is terrible.
The blinds were broken and we couldn't open or close them. The doors and windows allowed cold wind to blow into the room. The bathroom tiles were chipped and broken. The bathroom sink was broken in the middle. The shower was full of mould.
There was a kettle, but you couldn't fill it in the sink, as it didn't fit under the tap.
There were only two powerpoints, one that had the fridge connected, so you had to disconnect the fridge to make tea. The other was over the sink, so to charge our 4 devices, they had to be on the bathroom sink.
There was never anyone at reception.
All up terrible place but a great location.
- Ak (6/5): - Hotel Location and convenient was the reason we stayed
- Chris (8/5): - Basic accomodation in a great location right on Bourke St opposite the ski school. When we stayed in September it was really reasonably priced.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice view in the morning, great location on Burke st.
Bit noisy at night, heating ducts or something
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall the location and the restaurant located above worked really well for my family. Very convenient.
- JJ (8/5): - Excellent location opposite Mercedes chair. The hotel is very run down and tired. We expected better for the price! Proper ski racks would be good in the drying room.
Great staff on reception made up for some of it. Very helpful and welcoming.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. My family and I were in a quad bunk room. Bunks were so squeaky that we hardly slept. Our room was right near reception so we’re also woken by noise from guests coming in the front door all night. Drying room was not very dry. Showers were great though!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property was right near the action. There was a large restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had everything we needed and close to the bike tracks and walking tracks
- Mo (4/5): - No one at the front desk. i waited for a while and said “hello” many time to have someone came out. Property was very messy... room is not fully cleaned, the fridge still has half opened stuff from previous people..
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Rude staff members, terrible food,
Terrible room, exposed wires in corridors, emergency accomodation at the very best
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were not very happy with our stay because of the state and cleanliness of the building. The staff were friendly though and the food was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - The views were lovely and the room was clean and comfortable
- Karen (10/5): - Fantastic value for money, and while the rooms were basic, they were well appointed and comfy.
Loved the bistro and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food-dinner was great.
Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating.
- Amy (8/5): - Good for walks and hikes. Better to come in winter else might be a ghost town :-(
Nevertheless, the restaurant serves great food, especially chicken parmesan and spaghetti carbonara! Also, breakfast packs provided in the room were real handy :-)
- J (6/5): Mount buller - Hotel very dated,Needs an update, location is perfect
- Verified traveler (8/5): great location - close to the lifts and the village including the food shops and groceries
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel and affordable as well - Good room and warm enough for the snow
Also amazing staff
- Lee (2/5): Don’t stay ever ! - Terrible, dirty, overpriced,no tv remote and zero updates since the 80’s.Couple This with an unmanned reception and rude staff in the bistro it wasn’t a pleasant stay and I will be chasing compensation for not receiving what I paid for.
- Kylie (8/5): - Great location and rooms are clean and warm. The food was awesome as well.
- Kim (4/5): Good location, facilities as advertised - Great location but we finished a day of skiing before 5 pm and there was no one at reception. There's a number to call and luckily one of us had a local SIM card. The staff came few minutes later but then had trouble accessing the computer to get into our reservation and print some forms... Staff was apologetic but forms could have been prepared in advance if they wanted to lock access to computer... Room was basic and per photos. Stayed one night only
- Danny (8/5): Abom good location - Great location
Avaerage room but you pay for what you get
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location - Hotel is placed right at the centre of Mt Buller with the main lifts right outside the front door. Given that the mountain was full, highly disappointed to be exited from the dining bar area at 9pm on Friday night, despite the fact that I was with a group of 12+ Adults and our children. It's sad to see such a key Buller location lose its vibe and atmosphere. Wouldn't stay again, it's clean and tidy but there's much better value and facilities available.
