The front deck employee meet us with a smile and was very helpful. The next morning the manager picked up where his night staff left off. All were courteous and helpful. Accommodations where spotless.

cnx_anc (2/5): You might have a fine stay or frustrating one. I finally gave up and glad I did. - I have stayed here dozens of times over the years. I have given up staying in frustration. I was once billed on my incidental card for someone else's stay. I wasn't even in Ketchikan at the time. Money was finally credited but not without far too much effort, and several months of asking and reminding. Hot water is hit and miss, as is draining, you often stand in water as you shower. Was once given a room that had been cleaned poorly and bed sheets had not been changed (they did provide another room). Another time my room smelled so bad with chemical smell that I couldn't stay, window was open on arrival, and the desk clerk agreed stating it was "unacceptable and they would not stay in the room either". They could not offer another room but still charged me for 2 nights after telling me I would not be charged. I gave up being reimbursed after the frustration wasn't worth it. Management runs the place like they are the only game in town. They are not. I have been happily staying elsewhere on my monthly trips to town.

We come in on the ferry with our dog and we have always been allowed to check in early. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. It is so clean and each room has a kitchen with amenities. Free and accessible parking is a bonus! The location is close to everything you need. It is safe and welcoming. We love My Place in Ketchikan!

Brad (10/5): Exactly what I needed for a one night stay to get testing at the nearby hospital (walking distance) - Staff is super nice and the manager is accommodating. I was able to check in early which I desperately needed and appreciated not having to wait in the lobby for hours. There's no pans or tableware in the kitchenette. I didn't ask if you could get some from the desk but the kitchen is still useful the full-sized fridge, ice maker and microwave.

adventurestreet (4/5): Where’s the pots!?? - Strangest hotel experience. Rented a kitchenette. The room came with a fridge, microwave, and a stove… but not a single piece of silverware or any pots and pans. The Owner publicly says ‘We also want to clarify that cookware and dish sets are available for purchase at the front desk.’ Seriously? If it’s dumb bureaucracy, at least have the audacity to admit it instead of all of us thinking you’re a bad used car salesman. It would be like if you rented a car and you were expected to bring your own tires or buy them at the desk…WTF? Probably easier to go to a different hotel than fly with my kitchen pots. Please do better or at least don’t falsely advertise.

Also, my keys never worked for the first day and a half. Also, it led me to believe that my bedding did not get changed because I found somebody’s vape in tangled in the sheets.

Penny (4/5): - The room has a microwave and cooktop but no pans and or servicing items. When I did the review for the hotel they responded to me that they do have pans for purchase and paper plates and plastic utensils that we just have to ask for them. I said well then a sign saying that or being told that at check in would have been nice. Also while we were there a very intoxicated lady was able to get into the hotel, past front desk and into a guest room that was occupied and the occupant couldn’t get her to leave so the cops were called. Very unsettling.

They have a new manager on site this year and I wondered if they would be as understanding and accommodate me the way their predecessor did and I was not disappointed. The new person knew me by first name and extended every courtesy I could have asked for and beyond. My Place is my home away from home on work trips and they will always get my business anywhere I travel.

I was early to check in, Terrance and Whitney secured my bags so I could grab a bite to eat in town. When checking out Salina went above and beyond. Not sure if I’ve mixed up Whitney and Salina, I believe Whitney was day desk and Salina was night desk.

Second a nice grocery store is just 1/2 a block from the hotel. Nice to get food items to cook or consume in your room. Staff was very friendly. Sarah (10/5): Locals Stay Here (even without a discount) - Well, there’s zero discount for locals, even in the off-season and it’s a less expensive to book on hotels.com. There’s an amazing grocery & liquor store across the street with a terrific salad bar and I think like, the only froyo in town and even if you’re not local, a thoughtful assortment of gifts. This hotel is also dog friendly, very comfortable, and with a mini kitchenette.

Daniel (10/5): Best place in Ketchikan - I've stayed in three different hotels in Ketchikan and this is by far the best. Very clean and quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. They are finishing up redoing all the rooms. Our room was perfect except for a small flaw on the wall from a previous guest.
crystalw570 (4/5): I'd stay here again...as a last resort. - The hotel seems very proud to have received a 9.2 rating from Trip Advisor and Booking.com as they have it displayed in their lobby. However, after the experience I had, it makes sense why they haven't received the same rating for the past 4 years: The hotel needs a LOT of improvement; mostly from management. According to the hotel's website, they offer a "full kitchen." What they mean is you get a full size fridge, an induction cook top, and a microwave. Yet, nothing to cook with. You'll get dish soap though! To wash what? I have no idea as they don't provide you with anything to cook with. Their website says, they offer a "lounge/bar." I was here for 10 days? What lounge and bar? It doesn't exist. Unless the site is referring to a snack bar that they keep day old coffee at in the lobby. "Room service" is next to non-existent. Upon check in, I was told I would receive room service every 4th day. I had to go remind them of the expectation on day 5. When I eventually did get house-keeping, my toilet paper was restocked and trash taken out. Nothing was wiped down and my bed was sloppily made. My co-worker never get room service; nor a "Hello" or "Welcome" any time he entered the hotel from the staff. The rooms are spacious, the bed was comfortable, and overall was clean. It's also convenient to the airport. Those were the only things I liked about the hotel. I'd stay here as a last resort. Otherwise, next time I'm in Ketchikan, I'll stay at The Landing or Cape Fox. -- Food & Drinks: There are NONE at this hotel. Unless you like day old cold coffee in the lobby. The nearest restaurant is at the hotel next door "The Landing" and their food is not good either. There is a grocery store next door to the hotel which has a fair selection. Walkability: It's not very walkable to much. It's a bit of a hike to get to downtown. Rooms: The rooms are a decent size and rather spacious. The bed is very comfortable too. Rooms have huge coffee pots if you like several cups. Shower pressure needs work. My coworker's water pressure was hit or miss whereas my pressure was fine, but waited an eternity for hot water to finally come out of the pipes. Noteworthy Details: Don't expect any amenities here such as a fitness center, keurig coffee makers, or dishes/utensils despite supposedly being an "extended stay" hotel. Either bring your own, buy them from the hotel, or "rent some" from them.

It was difficult to get a taxi aswell. I will not recommend to my friends to go there. And its expensive aswell compared to the area. I will not go back there.
behnazp2024 (8/5): Spacious and comfortable room - The room was spacious and had many amenities such as a stove, microwave and a fridge, in addition to the standard ones of an easy chair and table etc. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Two very nice photos of the town decorated the room. The pillows were uncomfortably thick. There were plenty of towels but while in the shower, we found out that the body soap container was almost empty. They did fill it the next day after we asked. There was good coffee in the lounge in the morning. Our main gripe was that a staff member was not helpful when the free cab from the airport to the hotel could not be reached. The location of the hotel is good: close to a supermarket and another hotel where you can have meals (no meals at My Place), relatively close to the airport and close to a bus stop to downtown.

She said they didn’t have another room which we found out the next morning was not true. We were told we would be contacted by a manager and have never heard a thing from management. During high season lodging is scarce. This place didn’t seem to care if you come back or not. We won’t be back.

Verified traveler (6/5): ok, but for the price, should have been better - Check-in was quick, once the front desk person came out of the office … there was a sign stating they would be back soon, so, we did not worry, until another staff person arrived and told the person in the office that there were people waiting … we apologized more than they did. Room was fine, looked clean, until daw a clump of hair and dust bunny under the kitchenette counter and hair on the toilet and in the tub. Recliner chair was a nice to have. However, clearly used, and had to pull to middle if room so did not hit the walls. Kitchenette was nice, however, no cookware, plates, cups/glasses, or utensils. Bed was ok, however pillows were like 1 step below a rock.

colbya624 (2/5): Free left over food in your room? - I've stayed at this hotel before with no issues. Though when I checked in a 530p and went to my room. It was trashed, stacked up garbage, food on the counters and fridge. To include messy slept in beds and used bathroom. The best part was when the front desk told me that the cleaning crew was gone and they didn't have any other rooms. They seemed to be at a loss on why I didn't want to stay. Eventually they called someone in and it got cleaned but really.....

TimothyD94 (2/5): False advertising, terrible service, and not worth the money. - Avoid this place at all costs. I had to call twice to get my reservation confirmation emailed to me and it never showed up. I chose this hotel because I was there for a 4 night stay and the pictures showed a range, and microwave oven and a fridge. The had all of that but no pots, pans, forks, plates, ect. When I inquired they said that they usually sell them, but they were out. They said I should try a second hand store. I thought am I supposed to pack this stuff when I depart? When I complained to their customer service website the manager responded and said that because of the Alaska Food Code they cannot provide these dishes because they can't sanitize them. Other Alaska Hotels like the Aspen Suites do provide the dishware, pots, and pans, so they must of spent the money to get a dishwasher. My next issue was that there were construction being done in the lobby and one of the workers was smoking outside in front of the air conditioning system which stunk up my room. My key had to be rekeyed several times, and the front desk was unmanned most of the time and I had to wait at a window outside the hotel because the lobby was being remodeled until someone showed up. I had the same situation at check out and the person who did that was the General Manager who looked like he just woke up at a homeless shelter. He was very unkept. As I stated before I wrote to their customer service website and got a response from the manger and wasn't happy with his excuses. I ask for the email of the CEO so he could explain how his company can charge me $225.00 per night for a total of $900.00 for a stay with all of these issues. The GM replied that he was on the email thread. I have not heard from the CEO. Save yourself the aggravation and stay anyplace else but Myplace hotels.

Good hotel, reliable clean accommodations with decent internet and good in room air conditioning and heat. Corporate spam begging for reviews are infuriating and disgusting.

Taxi cost to airport was suppose to be charged to the hotel- but was not clarified that only to the ferry to airport. Door to door is actually 90 usd bec the airport is in the island across.

The location is a taxi ride to the airport- note it’s included and free but ferry ride is not. The first floor as well as some rooms are having some work done so it might have limited my choice of room. Otherwise staff was very very friendly ! And very very helpful.. It made up for the inconvenience of the renovation and dustiness in the first floor. The rooms were roomy and clean and had a little kitchen. Location not anywhere near anything except the diner of the landing hotel

Nancy (7/5): Good - The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful despite seeming understaffed. There was a full size refrigerator and kitchenette with stovetop and toaster, and a grocery store next door. Hotel was walking distance to the airport ferry. The hotel was pretty far from town and the bus was not running regularly, so we often waited an hour before it came. The only other option was cab to and from the hotel to town, a shuttle service like similar hotels have would have been a bonus. The rooms were not cleaned the 5 nights we were there. No cooking pots, plates, cups or silverware was provided for the kitchen, so you couldn't cook.
